Command or utility to archive files unmodified in over 730 days

Hi,
I need to find a way to archive files that are over 2 years old, ideally on a weekly basis, and have them moved to an archive volume, maintaining folder structure. I'm not good at writing scripts, and beyond that, even once i locate all of the files meeting the criteria (unmodified in 730 days) i have no idea how to merge them with my existing, ongoing archive. I think I've tried every 3rd party software I've been able to locate. I really need help with this, if anyone has the knowledge and patience to help me out.
Thank you,
Peter

This should work:
find ~ -not -newermt '2 years ago' -exec tar -uPvf archive.tar {} ;
As this uses the update flag, the tar file must exist, so use -c in place of -u on the first run
You can run find again with rm (i.e. find ~ -not -newermt '2 years ago' -exec rm {} ;) to then delete the files, but I would be very careful with this, perhaps using rm -i to confirm deletion

  • PI 7.30: OS command on AIX to archive files on FTP does not work

    Dear experts,
    Our PI system runs on an AIX server.
    I have a scenario PI --> FTP. I also need to archive files in a seperate folder on the FTP.
    I have been following thread:
    Read or Write File On FTP server based on another file existence.
    After file processing in the Audit Log in RWB I among others I get the information:
    Execute OS command "sh /usr/sap/SYS/flex/batches/archive.sh file.zip /ftpfolder/file.zip"
    It seems it is working properly.
    The file itself gets processed to the "ftpfolder". But in the archive folder I do not get a copy of that file.
    My script looks like this:
    #!/bin/ksh
    ftp -n -v <<%%EOF%%
    open ftpserver
    user myuser mypassword
    prompt
    asci
    cd archivefolder
    mput $2
    bye
    %%EOF%%
    In the file receiver I have "Run OS command after message processing":
    "sh /usr/sap/SYS/flex/batches/archive.sh %f %F"
    %F stands for the complete path, right? So if I say "mput $2" in my script it should use %F.
    Could you please help me out here. I really don't know what the problem could be.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Peter

  • Robohelp HTML command-line utility overwrites merged files in .hhp file with absolute paths. Any way to prevent this?

    I have a Robohelp 11 HTML project which uses merged CHM files. I have a help build script which compiles this project using the RH command-line utility. Whenever this runs, RH overwrites the names of the merged CHM files in the .hhp file to use absolute paths (even if the .hhp file is read-only!). I've searched Adobe forums and this appears to be a RH bug. In my case, it doesn't stop the project performing the merge, but it looks like it causes problems when searching the resultant parent CHM (topics matching the search simply don't show up in child projects), as the search cannot necessarily find the merged files referenced in the .hhp when someone performs the search on a different machine. I notice that if I compile via the RH UI, the .hhp entries are not overwritten. So, a workaround is to do the build manually. However, we'd like to automate our help build. Is there any way to prevent the command-line compiler overwriting the merge file entries in the .hhp?

    This was a problem with Rh9, see Item 13 at Using RoboHelp 9
    I haven't seen it reported since but maybe something at that link will help.

  • Is there a way to pass archive file name to the command-line control?

    Hi there,
    I have been researching the flash media live encoder laterly. But still cannot find confirmed anwsers on the following questions:
    1. Is there a way to pass an archive file name to the command-line control when starting an encoder?
    2. Can the username/password to the Flash Media Server be saved in the profile? If not, is there any otherway to provide(GUI mode) them automatically,
        like as variables to a script?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Helen

    1. The only way to inform the command-line encoder about the archive file name is to save the FMLE session profile with the file name. The node for saving the file name is <output><file><path>C:\sample.flv</output></file></path>. The easier way to update the xml profile is to use "Save Profile" option of the GUI mode. If you want to programmatically update the file name, read the profile and update the node before launching the encoder. I hope this answers your question.
    2. No. Credentials can't be saved in the profile. The only way to provide them programmatically is to use /ap and /ab commands for the command-line encoder. For GUI mode, there is no programmable option. But still you can try capturing keystrokes.

  • Need command line utility to extract datecode / timecode from DV files

    I want to rename all my clips to include their times in the names.
    I cant find a command line utility that simply extracts the datecode from the
    dv file as to when the clip was shot (cant trust file modification time).
    anyone have any ideas?

    Hi
    This is very simple (to the best of my knowledge)
    sqlplus userid/password@hoststring @pl_sql_file_name.ext [arg1] [arg2] [arg3]
    sqlplus - to invoke oracle
    userid - is the login id into oracle db
    password - is the password
    hoststring - is the ORACLE_SID
    pl_sql_file_name.ext - is the pl_sql file you wish to run
    arg1, arg2, arg3 - the arguments that you may be refering in the pl_sql script. arg1 refers to &1 in your script and arg2 refers to &2 in your script and arg3 refers to &3 in your script.
    Have fun!
    Good Luck

  • How to archive files in another ftp server?

    Hi,gurus:
       My scenario is file to file and my sender adapter is ftp adapter.
       Now I want to archive the send file in another ftp server,how can I  implement it?
       There is a parameter "Archive files on FTP server" when I choose the processing mode "archive".What's  it's use?Thanks in advance.

    Hi,Santhosh:
      Thanks for your reply.
      I have checked your blog before,and it is very useful for me.
      I still have a problem about command line.
      In an sap note,I found the principle of the execution of the command line is like below code:
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class test {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    try {
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc = rt.exec("C:/data/test.bat <param1> <param2>");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    But you know this method has restriction.If my bat file has many commands,it only execute a part of commands(sometimes 8,sometimes 9 ).
    My bat file is like below:
    echo open 192.168.67.149 >c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo <username> >>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo <password> >>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo cd /receive>>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo get %2>>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo cd /ok>>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo put %2>>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo cd /archive>>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo delete send.txt>>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    echo quit >>c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    ftp -s:c:
    data
    copyResult.txt
    del %2
    I wanna merge all the "echo" in one command,so it may execute successfully,but I don't know the method.Any ideas?

  • WLST command line utility "storeUserConfig()"  is not working for 12c OHS

    Hi All,
    I am facing issue with WLST command line utility with "*storeUserConfig()*" command.
    I have installed Standalone OHS 12c (Not managed OHS with WLS), configure and start the Node Manager.
    I start the WLST command line utility from : <MW_HOME>/ohs/common/bin/wlst.sh
    I connect node manager with : nmConnect('weblogic', 'welcome1', nmType='plain', domainName='base_domain')
    wls:/offline> nmConnect('weblogic', 'welcome1', nmType='plain', domainName='base_domain')
    Connecting to Node Manager ...
    Successfully Connected to Node Manager.
    wls:/nm/base_domain> nmStart(serverName='ohs10', serverType='OHS')
    Starting server ohs10 ...
    Successfully started server ohs10 ...
    Now When I am running storeUserConfig(), it's giving me below error :
    wls:/nm/base_domain> storeUserConfig()
    Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<console>", line 1, in ?
    NameError: storeUserConfig
    I also try with storeUserConfig('/scratch/12cORC/security/myuserconfigfile.secure', '/scratch/12cORC/security/myuserkeyfile.secure') which also give same error.
    I am not able to recognize this error. What should I need to do to create the User config file ?
    Please suggest me the solution.
    I am referring this doc : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/web.1111/e13813/reference.htm#
    Thanks,
    Amit Nagar

    It's probably a little late for the original poster, but in case anybody else stumbles on this thread (like me today), I found a workable solution to this problem:
    For a Standalone HTTP Server there exists in $domain_home/bin a command startComponent.sh or (on Windows) startComponent.cmd. This accepts as parameter the ComponentName which will typically be ohs1 and as second parameter storeUserConfig. Documentation on this can be found here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/webtier/HSADM/getstart.htm#CHDJGIII (scroll down to
    4.3.2.3 Starting Oracle HTTP Server Instances from the Command Line).
    startComponent.sh ohs1 storeUserConfig
    Unfortunately this doesn't tell you where you'll find the config and key-File. However, on a second invocation I found that - at least on windows where I tested this - they get written into c:\users\<username>\.wlst so I'd expect them in the home directory on unix. After copying the files to a more common location, I was able to reference them the usual way (formatted for better readability):
    wls:/offline> nmConnect(userConfigFile='C:/app/Middleware/Oracle_Home/user_projects/domains/base_domain/nodemanager/security/nm-cfg-base_domain.props',
    userKeyFile='C:/app/Middleware/Oracle_Home/user_projects/domains/base_domain/nodemanager/security/nm-key-base_domain.props',
    host='localhost',
    port='5556',
    domainName='base_domain')
    Connecting to Node Manager ...
    Successfully Connected to Node Manager.
    Best Regards
    Holger

  • Archiving file in application server

    Hi
    Can anybody of you please let me know how to archive a file from one directory to other in the application server?
    I dont want to read one file into an internal table and then loop on that to create a new file.
    Looking for some FM or command that would do this in one shot.
    Any clue is very appreciated
    Best Regards
    Chinmou

    My  friend   there is   no   such  one program which will  do  archive  or   one function  module which  will do  as you wanted  .
    Basicall  for archiveing the data   into file  it requesite 4  basic function  modules  as .
    code] "ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_WRITE'
    "ARCHIVE_NEW_OBJECT'
    "ARCHIVE_GET_STRUCTURES'
    "ARCHIVE_SAVE_OBJECT[/code]
    so  based up on the archive  obect   it will have  own  write  program  which will   use  above  4  function  modules  and  collects the  table data from the basic  archiveing  obecjt  from  the   AOBJ  tcode  archive object structure then  creates  struture for that data and then  write's  it .
    so below  is the logic  .
    CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_WRITE'

  • ERROR:Could not read archive file - during Processing Base System Part 2

    Hi there,
    What I have:
    * I have problem with installation of the Mac OS X Panther v10.3 on iMac.
    * I have 3 original CDs (black with silver X).
    What I did:
    * I made new 1 partition and formated disk as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) over the Disk Utility in the first CD as normal without additional options (if I tried to format disk with zero all data and 8 way random write format after 3 days computer freeze)
    * I verified disk over this utility - that was ok - HFS volume verifed.
    * Then I restarted the computer and ran installation from this first CD
    What happened:
    * installation did not finish, because there were some problems during installation process.
    * i tried to customize installation just for essential work (without other languages support, printers etc), but it was still the same problem
    Installation log:
    After I choosed installation type, there was first error, but it did not look like important.. - root: bootstraplookup(): unknown error code

    It seems like a problem with reading some data from the CD, but during the installation checking of disk was ok.. maybe it can be problem with the cd-rom..? Or problem with data on cd-rom - I mean bad archive file..? But it is original CD.. What do you think??
    Thank you!

    Tomas,
    On THIS Page, locate your iMac model.
    From the Documents column, click on the appropriate number link.
    Using the info in the document that opens, locate the serial number of your iMac.
    On THIS Page, in the text field for Search Tech Specs, enter that serial number.
    Click on the model of iMac that appears.
    Post a link to the page that opens, or post the info requested below.
    Exactly which model iMac is it?
    What is the Processor speed?
    What size is the Hard Drive?
    How much Memory is installed?
    What type of internal Optical Drive does it have?
    Which version of OS, was the original Installed Software?

  • How to remove a single Archive file

    I have an archive file from April 21st, 2009 in my flash recovery area. This archive file is all by itself and i do not know how to remove it without just deleting the file. I have completed, successfully, nightly backups which removes older backups and archive files. For some reason this one file is not being deleted when the others are. I have completed a validate, crosscheck and archivelog all. It is not listed in the summary either.
    I just want to know if there is a rman command to remove lost archive log files or do i just delete the file the old fashion way.

    Chicago wrote:
    I was thinking it would be the easiest way. I was just curious as to whether there is a rman command to remove archive files that seem to be lost.
    Thanks for answering.
    ChicagoIf you did a crosscheck archivelog all in rman, and this file is nowhere to be seen in rman, then it's safe to remove it from OS.
    If you did the opposite, that you delete from OS first and rman still has the file in list then you need to delete it from rman , a crosscheck followed by delete expired.
