Command-Shift-Option-V in Pages
When I press Command-Shift-Option-V in Pages Insert\Choose dialog is opened. (This dialog must be opened when Command-Shift-V is pressed)
What can I do about it? How can I "Past and Match Style" in Pages?
P.S. The issue is not stable. Some times Cmd-Sh-Opt-V work for me, some times it doesn't. I don't know why.
Not reproducible here. OS X 10.9.2 with Pages ’09 v4.3, or Pages v5.2.
It is 100 percent reproducible pressing the shift+command+V keys, and 0 percent, when pressing shift+option+command+V keys. Perhaps, you have an option key that periodically, is not responding when pressed.

How can I disable command-shift-option-Q?
I'm in charge of 30+ iMacs where I work and the users are occasionally being logged off when trying to do their work. They apparently are hitting the command-shift-option-Q keys which are automatically logging them off without warning.
These are real-time applications that need to run 24-7 so this messes up their work.
Is there any way, from the command line, that I can disable these key combinations?
Thanks for any help.

Split PDF by pages using command line options
Hi,
I am after a product to split a PDF file by pages / bookmark using command line options. It would be good, if the product comes with functionality to call from VB/.NET SDK.
I googled and came across many products, out of these following looks good. Has anyone used this. Please suggest me.

Why won't Final Cut Pro 7 allow me to Shift, Command or Option-select items?
I am having a major problem with Final Cut Pro 7. I commonly select multiple items using the Shift (⇧), Command (⌘), or Option (⌥) keys. However, just recently it started not allowing me to select multiple items this way. What happens is either the timeline, the slug, or the canvas will play (depending on which one is selected) I didn't change anything on the computer; it just started happening. I even tried reinstalling the whole entire Final Cut Studio. However, the problem still remains. This is a real problem and really is causing major issues for me. How do I fix this!?!? I'm at a loss. I've tried everything that I could think of short of reinstalling the entire OS (which I may end up doing). Can someone help me?
>I believe that the uninstaller that Digital Rebellion provides (and I used) does, in fact, delete the preferences...
Of course. DR's FCS Remover does exactly what it says on the tin. Except it does not come in a tin.
What it does is remove every vestige of any version of Final Cut Studio.
I ran it on my computer and filled the space that FCS took up by running a script which installed an animated .gif of a dancing banana several times over. Let's be honest. Video editing is a stupid hobby anyway.

Is there a command line option for VNC to automatically launch in fullscreen mode?
I can launch a VNC window from the command line, as such:
open vnc://username:password@hostname
... but I'd like it to automatically start in full screen mode. Is there a command line option for this?
I'm using an old MacMini purely to connect to another Mac over screen sharing, but when the MacMini boots I'd like it to go straight into the fullscreen of the other desktop.
Many thanks!Set the Integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

Keyboard Shortcut for bullets (Command-Shift-L) no longer works
Hey Guys,
It seems so odd and I find it so irritating that I have been using this keyboard shortcut which is Command-Shift-L for bullets in Outlook, Notes and almost any word processing applications. All of a sudden this seems to have gone and now replaced by a Google Search. I tried researching a lot on the internet and found many articles which confirmed that this was indeed a keyboard shortcut but I couldnt find even one which could tell me what happened to it and how to make it work again. I've got so used to this shortcut because my work involves mainly around drafting emails and documents.
I have Macbook Pro Retina 13inch 2013 model & running Mac OSX 10.9.4 OS.
Now I did find one website link which told me how to disable the Safari trigger for this shortcut and I was successful in removing that shortcut. But I am stuck at the point where it's just blank. So now when I press these keys, nothing happens because no shortcut is set to it. I am moving in circles and would really appreciate if anyone can help.
P.S I've already gone through many links which say create paragraphs, this and blah blah but sorry I am not interested in that....Some links also say that Option + 8 key works for the bullets but that doesnt work for me either. However, I dont want that too. I would want the original shortcut which was there and would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to get it back or even configure it back to the way it was. Sorry for being rude but I am just frustrated with the long hours I have spent in fixing this silly issue and don't want the similar answers which I have already come across on the other links. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance! Thanks for your reply. I can't seem to find the bullets option in Shortcuts. Could you give me more details on how to make that happen.
There is no bullets option in Shortcuts. Defining shortcuts works by binding menu items in an application to a key combination. You have to find the name of a menu item in the application you are using.
For example in "Notes" is a menu "Format > Lists > Insert Bulleted List"
To bind it to the shortcut "⇧⌘L" open the Keyboard System Preferences > Shorttcuts tab and press "+" to add an application shortcut.
Type the name of the menu item "Insert Bulleted List" and enter the key combination.
This will work in "Notes", but you have to identify the names of menu items that will produce bullets in your other applications, if you want to add the shortcut for them. -
How to restore command shift 3 instead of grab
I always used command+shift+3 to photograph the desktop and command+shift+4 to photograph a selection of the screen. Then, one day I lost it and had to use Grab, which it takes longer to use. Can anyone help me restore that?
Thank you.
BeltranIs "Examiner" a feature of one of your add-ons? I don't seem to have that. Some extensions let you remap or disable their keyboard shortcuts. You could try the Options buttons on this tab:

I have a custom doclet which generates xml output instead of the default ouput from javadoc.
I am trying to pass custom command line options to my custom doclet class.
The following is my javadoc command:
javadoc -classpath c:\junit\junit3.8.1\junit.jar;C:\j2sdk1.4.1\lib\tools.jar -doclet DocGenerator -dest c:\docgen\temp C:\DocGeneratorTest.java
When i use the above command i get the following error:
javadoc: invalid flag: -dest
I am trying to access the value of dest in my custom doclet.

-rvPerhaps the following will help. It explains how to use command-line options
Any doclet that uses custom options must have a method called
optionLength(String option) that returns an int. For each custom
option that you want your doclet to recognize, optionLength must
return the number of separate pieces or tokens in the option. This page gives an example:

When I'm writing something in a Safari window pain on a web page and there is a spelling or grammar error and it's detected by under lining the word with red dotted lines. I use Command+Shift+; to bring up the spell/grammar tool. When I click the Ignore button on the to skip/disregard the word, Safari reloads the webpage and I loss all my content. It works ok if I accept the change thats offered or even use any of the other Buttons on the Spelling and grammar tool. Where is the documentation on the Java command line options.
I know you can get them by running java.exe, but does Sun have a web page with a little more detail?
Googling for

Found this for 1.4. I imagine you should be able to find something similar for 5.0.

How do I restart the SNMP agents with the original command line options?
I'm creating an application that changes the SNMP trap target configuration files and then restarts the SNMP agent. I'm currently working with the mibiisa agent. I want to make sure that I restart the service with the new trap targets but with the original command line options. How can I restart the mibiisa service with the same command line options that it originally loaded with?
It is not "Network Time" that is the problem, but actually "SystemStarter." SystemStarter is an interim kludge to enable the work or the old StartupItems until they can be converted to LaunchDaemons or LaunchAgents controlled by launchd. Launcd calls SystemStarter to launch all the unconverted StartupItems. ntpd is now under the control of launchd directly.
Launchctl is the command to load and unload the plist files, but I don't think it has a mechanism to restart a daemon.
There are start and stop commands in launchctl, but the man page indicates that they are for debugging purposes.
I also imagine you could just kill the ntp daemon and let it restart with new settings. It is most likely set to "keepAlive" so that it will automatically restart. -
Starting Safari with command-line options
I am an old Unix Hacker who just started with Mac. Since scripting is an important
part of old-school UNIX, I do many things via scripting.
My question is: Is there a way to start Safari from the command line using command-line
options that will allow Safari to open up multiple tabs with each tab pointing to a pre-defined
URL?
Thanks,
msprewittHi,
Type this in terminal,
open http://www.google.com http://www.yahoo.com
It will open the two web pages in two tabs. man open for more option.
