Command to log agent out/in on workstation?

(11.2.x) -- Is there a command to get the Zenworks agent to log out, and also
one for logging in, at the Windows workstation? e.g. a command-line equivalent
to right-clicking the icon in the system tray area & choosing "Logout" or "Login".
I'm sure if there is, it's somewhere obvious in the documentation, but I
haven't been able to find it. So far the only way I can see to cause a logout
is to remove the registry entries that cache the current username.
Thanks.

There is not any supported way to automate this.

  • How to disable Option-Shift-Command-Q (Log Out immediately)

Does anybody know, how I can disable the shortcut Option-Shift-Command-Q, which Log me out immeditely. That’s because I sometimes hit this combination accidently while trying to press Option-Shift-Command-A or Option-Shift-Q (for the French quotation mark »).
I have tried to assign a new shortcut for the menu item using the system preference panel, but this doesn’t work.
I hope, someone can help me with this because it drives me crazy ...
    Thnaks!

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't help. I don't have a keyboard & mouse pane I only have keyboard or mouse to choose from, so I go to keyboard and there is nothing that looks like that screen. But I did find something that fixed my Command/Option/Control buttons from being locked, I clicked on Keyboard & then Modifier Keys, and it let me select no action for each of those, BUT it doesn't have the Shift option.
So now my problem is, when I press Shift twice in a row, it makes it lock. It's as if I'm holding down Shift all the time and I have to press Shift again to unlock it. I want to disable this. Does anyone have any ideas how to do that? I think I explained it wrong in my 1st post I thought I'd explain again (: But now I figured out it's called Modifier Keys soo I feel like I'm close to finding the answer. lol (:

  • Terminal Command to Log Out User

I have Fast User Switching enabled. I would like to log users out that forgot to log out. What are the Terminal commands to log out someone named Alice who is a Standard user in OS X.3.9? I'm getting tired of having to restart to shut down the users account. Will the commands be the same for an Administrators account?
    Thanks for your help,
    G4 Quicksilver Dual 1 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, Sonnet ATA133 card, Maxtor ATA133 drives   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   B+W G3 450 MHz, OS 9.2.2, 1 GB RAM

If you're the Admin, then you should be able to use Terminal as root to log someone out like this:
    sudo killall -u [username]
This should kill all processes in that user account, and it may log them out also (I can't test this on a single user machine). If it doesn't, you can use:
    sudo shutdown now
which will log out everyone and shutdown the system to single-user mode for the root/Admin user.
    Hope this helps,
    Mulder

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
In the Console window, look under DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION for crash or panic reports. A crash report has a name ending in ".crash" and a panic report has a name ending in ".panic" Select the most recent report from each subcategory and post the contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Why does mavericks keep logging me out

I installed Mavericks yesterday and I was working on an Adobe Illustrator file today for a client, and after 8-9 minutes Mavericks logged me out of the computer. When I logged back in, everything was closed, and my Illustrator was empty. Even though I saved the file prior to the log off I lost it. It then happened again a few minutes later, making me lose all my work AGAIN.
Thing is, when it logs me out, it doesnt even prompt me to save my work... it literally dissapears within a second and goes to the lock screen.
Some Safari/Finder windows seem to re-open by Illustrator doesn't? Not sure what to do.
Can anyone clear this up for me? As I feel really dissapointed Mavericks is doing this, and also - I doub't it's an Illustrator problem. It doesn't seem to add up why it would be only that app that doesn't save.

here is a copy of EtreCheck on my system.
I have my suspisions about the application Contactizer Pro. The app is valuble but no longer supported and I have been unable to remove the items from startup..evn tho I have set it not launch at startup in preferences...
I do have another startup disc on HD4 for a slightly older OSX but that should not interfere with a sytem starup from my internal HD?

  • [SOLVED] X logs me out when I try to log in to scrotwm/spectrwm

    Hi there,
Just updated, rebooted, and tried to log in. Usually I boot into a console, and type my name and password into the console and that logs me into my window manager (scrotwm, which has recently been renamed to spectrwm). spectrwm is started from the .xinitrc file.
Usually spectrwm just starts, but today I get a brief error message come up on the console when I try to log in, and then am logged back out again. The error message is too quick to see. When I log in as root (with no window manager), I can start twm from the console by typing `startx'.
    Here are some files:
    ~/.xinitrc
    exec spectrwm &
    ~/.xsession-errors
    /etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
localuser:username being added to access control list
    /etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- /usr/bin/scrotwm
    Welcome to scrotwm V0.9.34 cvs tag: $scrotwm: scrotwm.c,v 1.356 2011/08/13 20:26:02 marco Exp $

I have no idea where to start with this. twm works when I log in as root, so maybe it's a problem with spectrwm? but how can I find out?
If anyone has any suggestions about other logs/files I should check out, please let me know. I mentioned that an error message comes up on the console very quickly when I try to log in - I can't read it, is that error message written to a file somewhere? (It doesn't look similar to ~/.xsession-errors or /var/log/Xorg.0.log)
    Thanks

OK, update, I filmed the error message with my phone (so that I could replay it in slow motion). It's just a few lines out of /var/log/Xorg.0.log, but these same lines are written when I (successfully) start twm when I am logged in as root.
So, I don't really have any other information to go on to track this down. Unbelievably, I deleted everything in my ~/.xinitrc file, and I still have the same problem

  • Macbook pro keeps logging me out after using migration assistant

    Hello All,
I have a Macbook pro (bought it two years ago). It used to shut down automatically. Took it to Apple after backing up using time machine. They installed a fresh OS on it and took everything else out. I made a dummy account and no more shut downs happend so I migrated my old account over using MA. Now all my accounts are there but as soon as I log in, it logs me out !!! no error message.
    Help would be appreciated.

i have a macbook pro and just recently after a shutdown, it now keeps logging me out right after i sign into my mac. I tried disk repair, file permissions repair and safe mode and none fixed/ nor safe mode got me inside my mac.
I want to save some files I have on there but can't because I cannot log in.
How were you able to run a disk repair? Did you do that from an install disc?
Can you boot into "single-user" mode? If so there are some commands you can run that will allow you to look into logs files, where you might find the reason for your problem.

  • IPhone always logs me out of youtube

    Hi there,
my iPhone always logs me out of youtube. I can log in but when getting back to the app another day it did not keep the credentials. I always have to log in again.
Do you have any idea what the issue is?
    Cheers,
    Kai

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Yosemite suddenly logs me out and in again

Since updating to Yosemite I am facing some strange issues.
While surfing of Working on my MacBook Pro (Late 2011) it suddenly logs me out and immediate in again.
All open windows reappear but the whole startup procedure starts again.
All connected or opened Drives and Images need to be reopened.
As I'm working with this Computer also for my DJ-Gigs I think it's a very high risk at the moment to do a gig with this OS.
I don't want to get logged out suddenly during the audience is listening to the music.
    Any guesses?
Is it a bug or a new feature which can be switched off?
I already checked for the Autologout after XX minutes of inactivity - it's not activated in my Preferences.

When you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

  • Retina MBP suddenly logging me out

My Retina MBP has now twice suddenly logged me out as a user with no warning.  Once when I was working on FCP7 and hit the backspace key and just now when I ejected and removed a USB stick from the right hand port.  Has anyone else had this issue?

  • OEM keeps logging me out

I am using OEM DBConsole (database version 11.2) and it keeps logging me out after so many minutes of inactivity unless I happen to be in one of the performance monitoring screen that automatically refreshes every xx seconds.
I've had the same issue with OEM Grid Control.
Is there a setting someplace to turn this off so it doesn't continue to log me out?

Well darn... now I have problems to get it started again.
I made copies of the file(s) before making changes, and even copied back the original files.
But when I attempt to start the dbconsole, it says "Failed" and I cannot connect to it using my browser.

  • Windows 8.1 automatically logs me out after one minute

I downloaded and installed Windows 8.1 Pro a few days ago from TechNet. I'm logged in only with my Microsoft account (not a Domain account).
For some reason, it logs me out automatically after one minute and takes me back to the login screen where I have to click and enter my password in. I checked all of the Power settings and the Screen Saver is off.
Also, I've wanted to disable the login screen entirely since I live alone.  I've seen many articles about being able to disable it by unchecking the box in the netplwiz app, but the option doesn't even exist.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
May be you can try to boot into safe mode for test, or create a new account.
In addition, netplwiz is a command to open Manage User Accounts. I doubt whether you had use it correctly.
Press WIN+R, then type netplwiz , press
    Enter.

I booted into Safe Mode (after figuring out the new method) and it logged me out after one minute.  I logged back in, created a new user, rebooted in normal mode, logged in as new user, was logged out after one minute.  Double-checked Advanced
Power settings again -- nothing indicating this should be happening.

  • OEM - Database Control - Logging me out constantly

My problem lie when viewing any of the pages within the DBcontrol. Once logged in I can browse but on most occasions I change to a tab or any of the links it logs me out and brings me back to the log in screen where I start again. Which is becoming quite annoying.
Has anyone else experienced this before and if so what was the cause of the problem.
    Thanks to all that reply.
    Version Information:-
    Dbcontrol - 10.2.0.3
    Database - 10.2.0.3
    Agent - 10.2.0.3
    Platform - Linux x86

    That is then definitely strange.
In the classroom environment, our standard image to teach Oracle 10gR2 and 11gR1/R2 now is based on OEL 5u2. Gets reinstalled from image every week, and we are about to switch to kickstart. No issues - my instructor system has been running for quite a long time on 5u2.
When I set that up, I made sure I included the oracle-validated rpm.
Raw or VM? If VM, which version VM and which host?
How much memory available to the OS? Going into swap?

  • Why does I-Tunes log me out after 15min of play?

I've got 2 profiles set up on the mac, and when the non admin profile is logged in, when i-tunes is running, after 15mins of playback, the profile logs itself out...
i've checked and the mac has been set to never go to sleep, the screen saver is not due to come on at all and the display has been told never to go to sleep.
    any suggestions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
In the Console window, look under the heading DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION on the left for crash or panic reports. If you don't see that heading, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". It may be under either of the two subcategories, "System" and "User." A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic".
Select the most recent of each and post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post any other kind of diagnostic report, such as a hang log — they're very long and not helpful.

  • AP1141N logs me out after 10 minutes and can't sign back on

I just purchased the AP1141N and I have created a logon account to access the device via URL which works fine but after 10 minutes it logs me out and requires that I log back on.  Unfortunately it won't allow me to log back on unless I reset the device then I have another 10 minutes before it asks me to login again but then it won't accept my logon again without a reset.  Very annoying.
I can logon with my account via the console logon but I don't know how to configure the access point via command line so I use the web interface.  I have disabled the timing for security but didn't help.  Any support on this or should I just send it back and get a better product?  ;-)

No reposting is necessary, I have moved your post into the correct area.
