Commands disabled in Crystal Dashboard Design

Hi,
I've a big problem with an installation of Crystal Dashboard Design:
starting to use the product I saw that some commands are disabled.
Some commands like SAVE, SAVE AS or Export to Powerpoint or Outlook are disabled.
Some of you know this problem?

Hi,
It sounds like the install might not have been completed properly. Please re-install the Flash player  once and test it. Incase it does not fix, please re-install the Xcelsius application. Make sure you have logged on to the system as Administrator.

    I still have the requirement to maintain dashboards created with Xcelsius 2008 SP5. Will the install of SAP Crystal Dashboard Design: Departmental overwrite or disable the ability to run Xcelsius 2008 on the same machine?

    Thank you for the reply. I am not sure I phrased the question very well, as I said in the post I am aware Personal Edition does not require viewing licenses. What I was asking was whether the 'internal business use only' clause in the EULA prevented dashboards built with Personal Edition from being placed on external company sites?
    If anyone could provide an answer to this it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Crystal Dashboard Design 2011 Instalation Failed

    Hi Guys,
    We have just bought Crystal Dashboard Design 2011 last week, and we have a problem when trying to install it. I have tried everything, Iu2019ve already Run it as Administrator (right click), deactivate UAC. When trying to install the requirements are meet correctly but when trying to define the installation folder if I leave the default one an error appears saying u201CInstallation folder is not valid. Use a valid absolute folderu201D so I select another one and proceed (I have Crystal Reports for B1 installed), and when the form where the key code is asked I define the one that SAP gave us and a message of windows appears saying u201CSAP BusinessObjects stop working. The program stops working correctly because of a problem. Windows will close the program and will notify you if there is any solutionu201D this widow appears twice and after closing them another window appears saying u201CThe key code of the product is invalidu201D Of course I have verified the Key and it is correct I only copy and paste it. So the installation could not be completed.
    I try to install it in another computer and works fine but this computer is from the CEO so it is not possible to use that computer.
    Machine where fails (Windows Vista SP2 32 bits)
    Machine where success (Windows 7 64 bits)
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I am having the same problem with the Crystal Reports 2011 trial.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit and have administrator rights. I have tried running it in XP compatibility mode and also with the virus checker disabled.
    It has now come up with the same error message on 5 different attempts....
    Any ideas, SAP?

  • Differene between SAP Crystal Dashboard Design and Presentation Design

    Dear All,
    SAP Crystal Dashboard Design
    SAP Crystal Presentation Design
    Somehow I am failing in installation of the both versions to find the difference whereas the price variation between these two are so high.
    Can anyone brief me the exact difference between above two.
    Again inside the TAB of any one of the above we see there are 2 versions named Departmental and Personal Edition in which Personal Edition costs too high.  Unable to know why such difference in pricing that too for personal edition.

  • Install problem - SAP Crystal Dashboard Design, departmental edition

    I download a departmental edition trial version and I tried install it.
    When finish a message said the installing was fine but then apears another message "Missing installdir reg key for installinverse, required for uninstall.
    Key: SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Installer\aurora
    Value: Path"
    Then another message saying a Runtime Error.
    I have a windows 7 ultimate 64 based with a 2010 SP1 Office 32 edition.

  • SAP Crystal Dashboard Design 2008, personal edition, full product download

    Hi, can anyone tell me what I need to do after downlaoding 2008 personal edition?
    I've tried to run the install file but I keep getting a window that tells me "Microsoft XP and later applications: Excel, Word, Outlook or PowerPoint must be pre-installed".
    But my laptop is already installed with MS XP and MS Office 2010.

    Office 2010 is not supported in Xcelsius 2008. Check this blogpost for a workaround.

    We wanted use the CRS + SAP Crystal Dashboard Design Personal Edition + CR or CRS + the package (CR + CX)
    Does that include the lifeoffice Connecion?

    No direct way.  But I had a similar requirement.  Our team updates a central spreadsheet and our managers wanted to have a dashboard to reflect information entered on it.  I ended up writing a VBA Macro using an XSD schema to use Excel XML Maps to export the spreadsheet data to .XML at the click of a button.
    Then, in an Xcelsius model, I imported that same Excel XML Mapping .XSD schema into my model, and pointed it to the location of the exported XML file to then have "live" data whenever the source Excel file was saved.  It seems an around the world way to get to Excel data (albeit in a separate file), seeing as the tool was originally written with Excel being the central focus. 
    There's also a more lengthly route to do it, but treating the Excel file as an ODBC source for a Crystal Report which Live Office will recognize which you can then use as a connection to Xcelsius, but that seemed even more painful for our purposes but in theory works.

    I thought the forum name change recently was a little odd!

    SAP uses descriptive naming for all its products, and it uses a branding strategy called the 'master brand' strategy.  Which means the focus is on SAP.  Product brands take a back seat.  A benefit of descriptive naming is that you can tell what the product will do from the name.
    This transition will affect Xcelsius, and it will also affect Web Intelligence which is being renamed Interactive Analysis (note the descriptive name).
    We know this is disruptive and have provided information to partners about the brand change and resources they can use to assist in the rebrand.
    We are being very pragmatic about the application of this.  Start menu entries will short and sweet like  'Dashboard Design'.
    The overall strategy is to broaden our focus from a collection of point products and product brands to an comprehensive product line that is geared to the needs of each customer and sales channel.    The product line can be combined into a suite when needed, or used a-la-carte.  The product line also reflects the SAP brand so we can leverage the exposure that's created by our corporate branding work (ie... Ernie Els' ball cap, San Jose Shark hockey board ads, etc).
    I'm not trying to downplay the impact of the rename.  I'm just trying to share the thinking behind the change.

    The statement from the Roadmap and the Faq are politically correct,SAP says they will stop the future develoment or would be limited ,its like reading between the lines in particular this quote
    "Projects requiring an Excel OLAP Integration should be carried out with BEx Analyzer 7.0. The tool is safe for 8+ years, and customers will be able to upgrade to Pioneer Excel. "

  • SAP Crystal Dashboard Design 2008 - where to re-download software?

    Hi,
    My work laptop was just uprgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I cannot find the software anywhere to re-install it.  I found the order confirmation email and managed to login to re-download it, but when I clicked "begin download" I got a message saying that it was too old to download!
    Can anyone advise?

  • Can not install Crystal Dashboard Design Departmental edition 2008

    I put in the license key during the install, and it accepts it as valid.  But when I run the software it prompts me for the license key and when I enter the same license key as entered during the install, it says it's invalid.  Can you tell me what's wrong or send me a key that will work ?  Thanks

    Excuse my ignorance, but the only userid I have is the one I use to access this forum, which doesn't work for the temporary keys site.  If that is my s-userid, it doesn't work.  If that is not my s-userid, I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Class not registered in dashboard designer?

    I am new to SAP and this forum as well kindly apologize for my mistakes and silly questions...
    I have installed SAP Dashboard design version: 6.0.0.0 Build: 14,0,2,364 on my windows XP system which have already BO client version : 14.0.3 Build 613.
    after the installation when i tried to add query from dashboard designer it is giving an error "class not registered" but i have already registered with the product code given to me, while logging on business objects enterprise through dashboard designer the authentication drop down is not showing any thing and i am unable to log on to access any universe.
    My BI launch pad and webi rich client is working fine but the issue is with the dashboard designer.
    PLEASE HELP!!!

    Also try to check with the admin team & and install the correct Service Pack based on the PAM.

    我在sap的官网上看到Crystal Dashboard Design个人完整版要四万多，Crystal Dashboard Design部门版只有8000多，是个人完整版的五分之一。但是在功能对比上，部门版却比个人版多了两项，包括：连接至 Adobe LiveCycle Data Services和IBM Websphere、Microsoft SharePoint 和 Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 集成。
    我想问两个问题，一个是个人完整版与部门版，他们之间到底有什么区别？有没有详细的功能对比？第二个问题是www.sap.com网站提供的 Crystal Dashboard Design 30天试用版，是否是上面提到的这个个人完整版？如果不是，主要区别在哪？另外这个30天试用版是否支持microsoft office 2013 x86？（我部门一部分人在用office 2010，一部分人在用2013）

    其实我们部门的需求很简单，并不需要链接实时的、动态的、各种数据源的数据库来产生报表或者仪表盘。我们就是用一大堆原始的excel表格，目前会把这些excel表单用microsoft excel软件内部的功能形成各种数据图表，比如直方图、雷达图什么的。
    但是随着我们面对的问题越来越复杂，需要动态的展示，比如某个变量的变化，对结果的影响，或者为了达到预期，应该满足何种条件。所以需要有一个工具，能够 把excel中的静态表格形成的静态图表，输出成swf（或者其他文件格式）的文件，在汇报的时候，某个领导问，如果楼面价提高到xxxx的话，收益能到 多少，我们能立即在flash上拖动滑动条，显示出最终受益的变化。请问对于这种功能需求，是否SAP Crystal Dashboard Design已经足够满足？ 而且是很好的满足。
    另外还想多问一句，对于SAP Crystal Reports  来说，我们是完全不需要的吧。只有那种员工成千上万，关联公司成千上万，分布在世界各地，才会需要用到这个软件，连接各种来源的数据库，来做决策分析是不是？
    最后还有个问题，对于SAP Lumira这个软件，在SAP的网站上的介绍是“”不仅仅是收集数据，还可实现数据可视化。借助 SAP Lumira 标准版，您可以整合和准备来自即席与企业数据源的数据，而不必向 IT 部门寻求帮助，从而重新诠释自助服务信息理念。 “而且这个软件的个人版是免费的。标准版卖一万七千多。看了SAP网站上的视频演示，没感觉这种数据可视化比excel强在哪啊。是不是我理解的不够？
    其实之所以会注意到reports和lumira这两个软件，主要是它们的功能介绍上提到了：实现数据可视化（SAP Lumira），呈现数据的实际意义，当文字和数字不足以呈现信息时，可用地理地图和图表形象地交流信息（SAP Crystal Reports），因为我们部门提供的分析结果中，也有可能包含一定的地理数据（比如分区人口、面积、拆迁回迁、可出让等等，以前在CAD里面做精确地工 作，然后EXCEL里面统计分析，最后到PHOTOSHOP里面手工制图）
    我还想问SAP Lumira和SAP Crystal Reports这两个软件，我们部门是否有必要试用一下？其实我们想要的，就是数据的格式化，动态的可视化，能够结合地理数据的数据可视化，最终实现令人难忘却又易于理解的表达。

    简单回答一下你的问题。
    关于Dashboard的几个版本区别：
    个人版：开发出的在线仪表盘（即连接数据库）可以被无限用户访问，无需另购Viewer许可。
    部门版：开发出的在线仪表盘只能给拥有Viewer许可的用户使用，Viewer许可需另购。
    上面两个版本都是可以连数据库的，你的情况我感觉只需要买更便宜的Presentation版就行了。即使Presentation版也可以实现What-if的功能，即改变几个参数，实时查看相关结果的变化。
    关于Dashboard的Lumira的区别：
    Dashboard的功能更强，灵活性更大；而Lumira是SAP刚推出的产品，功能比较简单，操作也比Dashboard简单。两者最大的区别在技术架构上，dashboard基于excel+flash，这决定了它不能包含太多的数据，一般需要控制在1000行以内；而Lumira基于HTML5，且有64位版，即使100万条记录也可以支持。等你学过这两个工具，就会发现它们都不难学，做出来的效果也都不错；另外它们都支持第三方扩展，可以支持包括地图在内的各种扩展组件。
