Would apple charge me for fixing my home button on my 4th generation Ipod touch if it's under warranty?

I have a 4th generation Ipod tough. My Home button hasn't been responding for a while now. I have to press it down really hard to get it to work. I want to go send it to a apple store so they can fix it, but I'm not sure if they'll fix it for free or If I have to pay for it, it's under warranty. I bought it at Wal-mart and has a 2 year warranty , plus the warranty for apple. I want to know if they'll do it for free, if not, how much would they charge me? I Also trouble shooted it and everything.

If you have the AppleCare extended warranty (2 years total) and the iPod is within warranty, defective and not abused Apple will exchange it at not cost for a refurbished one. You can check you warranty coverage with Apple by entering the iPod's SN here:

I keep getting the error message that "charging is not supported with this accessory" when I plug my ipod touch in to my macbook.

Neither the macbook nor ipod touch are new, and I'm using the cable provided with the ipod touch as normal and so was just hoping someone could explain what might be causing this? thanks!

Thanks for your suggestions, tried all those but no luck until I tried another cable. Also found another thread on here with a similar complaint that suggested cleaning the cable/ipod connection which I've now done which seems to have done the trick-thanks again!

Probably not. It would come under accidental damage which isn't covered by a warranty. YOu can take it into an Apple store and have them have a look at it, but all you may get is the ability to purchase a replacement.

My ipod touch will not turn on, i pluged it up to my computer to charge but it wont charge. and plus its battery was already full. why wont it turn on??

mine did the same thing. What I did was hold the home and power button down for 10 seconds but that did not work. I figured out that I just had to hold them down for a long time like 15 to 45 seconds. Then it finally turned on. You may have to do it a couple of time. But if this does not work send it in to the apple company they fixed mine completly free they even sent me a box to send it in. I hope my answer helps you fix it.

Ipod touch repeats logo and not charging

So i have had my ipod touch for a long time and today i left it to charge before i went to school
When i came home, the Ipod Touch was stuck on the logo.
when i took it off the charger it showed a picture of a plug thing and a lightening bolt with the battery picture with a little rd strip indicating that it needs to be charged.
i was confused because i had charged it at home while i was at school.
i first tried charging it on my computer intead of the wall but it does the same thing.
it would show that it was being charged by just showing a lightening bolt and the battery with the red strip. then it would switch to the apple logo as if it were about to turn on but then it would just turn off and repeat this process of looking like its charging, apple logo, turn off.
Also, when i plugged it into the computer, itunes wont pop up.
i have also tried holding the power button and home button and everything with holding it for 10 seconds and such.
i really need help because my ipod is like my life, please help.

See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will apllow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore it.
If still problem then I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you very likely have a hardware problem like a dead battery.

Is there any problem using a really old charger from a nano 1g I think with my brand new ipod Touch 3G. I've tested it, it does work, it's just a case of knowing if it will do anything bad or if theres any benefits using the new one?

Why wont my ipod touch charge up or show up on my mac(itunes)?

Okay so im having a problem with my ipod not charging up or showing up on my itunes. It is ipod touch (new one) and when i plug it in to my computer or a wallcharger it just shows the little "not charged" icon, but it wont charge up or show up on my itunes. What is wrong? What should i do?
