Commenting feature in packages page, like in the AUR's ones.

I noticed AUR packages page has a feature letting you to add comments. I find this particularly useful because it enables focused commenting by the users of such packages. You can easily keep track of bugs, possible breakage, any kind of problems with the package, and basically it would be very nice to have this kind of feature for the same reasons we already have it in the AUR site.

For discussion and "something went wrong but don't know what exactly" issues there's forum, IRC and ML. Using informative subjects helps finding relevant forum / ML threads.
Wiki articles have their discussion pages too, so if you're unsure about something, post there.
Finally, I find AUR comments lacking:
1. You can't sticky a comment.
2. Hell, you can't even link to a specific comment.
3. You can't have threaded comments so if you are dealing with more than one issue at the same time it's a mess.
4. Lack of bbcode-like (or similar) formating (although the bug tracker doesn't support formating either).

Murray is right. Padding (and margins) is added to the width. However, when using percentages, you should never use figures that add up to exactly 100%.
Browsers need to convert the percentages to pixels. Because pixels must be whole numbers, some percentages are rounded up, which results in the final element dropping down below its neighbours. With percentages, it's much safer to use values that add up to 98% (99% often works, but 98% is safer).

Do we have a package App like " Ask the expert" updated for Apex 4.2?

I;m looking for a sample application like " Ask the expert" which was there in OBE some time back. The old package imported into apex 4.2 but the text search etc is not working for any new questions asked etc hence wanted to know if an upgraded version is available or why some function would not work?

They got rid of all of the packaged applications several months ago. For a while they said they'd bring the popular ones back. Then they changed their mind and said the packaged apps would become part of a cloud service somehow. Don't know where it stands right now, I stopped checking.
The given reason why the apps were removed is because they did not match the new best-practices Apex security standards. I know that the 4.1 upgrade broke a bunch of my pages because of the new session state restrictions. Possibly this is what broke Ask The Expert. I've never used it, so couldn't make an educated guess.

Make sure that the system time and date on your computer are set correctly.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
Note that some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

[SLVD]How do I download a package that's in the AUR but not in pacman?

I feel like I'm asking the newbiest question in this forum, but I'm a little lost. I found google-chrome in the AUR, but when I try to install it with pacman, it tells me it can't find it. I thought that pacman just pulled from the AUR. I guess I don't really understand what the AUR is or how it works.

I'd like to echo this. Building packages from AUR is really not difficult, and using a helper really obscures several of the steps. If you build "by hand" you will learn more about tar, and about pacman. The AUR page in the wiki makes all this very clear. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR

why can I not get the normal firefox start page I had with my old computer (operating XP) instead of the "your all-in-one page" I have now I have moved onto windows 7

Essentially you don't maintain it any more. A Trusted User will maintain it in the [community] repo (and should have emailed to let you know...).

We removed Pages from the computer, but now we can't open Word documents directly. The computer keeps bringing up an alert that it can't find Pages to open the document.

Select one of the documents. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With panel select Word from the dropdown menu then click on the Change All button. This should fix the problem.

Yes, I just want to cover up all the pages for those particular area of document numbers.
Nothing sensitive about it. I just want to show the correct document numbers on all pages in print out.
So, I wanted to cover up by comments, but commenting on each page will be difficult. So, I wanted to comment the same on all pages.

Adding 'Post-it' like feature to a page

Hi,
I was wondering how nice it would be to add a 'post-it' like feature to a page. The user could add comments in a free text and could save it to a given APEX page and next time he/she would navigate to this page, I could display it.
I wondr if any body has done something like this? TIA

I had done something similar capturing data for each page from end user(it was actually a feedback functionailty driven into the application itself to choose page region or/and items and associated user comments for that)
You have a link in the navigation bar (or some general position in ur app page) that opens a jQuery dialog_ (I had implemented it using a modal plugin in apex 3.2). Write some JS code that can show the entry form for user as a modal window( check if *$.dialog()* is enough for you ),then set the ajax global variables(g_x01,g_X02..) for page id and the text field( _$v('p_flow_step_id')_ and _$('#Comment_field').val()_ ) and call an Ondemand process. Add the JS code required to the page template or as a JS file loaded in every page. The . The Ondemand process can save the data to a table.
For showing the 'post-it' note, start out by having a region in page zero that fetches the content for the displayed page( PLSQL region ). Then style it using JS(onload) and/or CSS so that it is set at a fixed position with a large z-index,float it, use some animation effects, shadowing etc. A div with a background image(or mayb one each for title,a repeat-y styled one for body and another one for the footer) would be good starting point for the post-it look. Once you are comfortable with the styling and positioning, add the code to the template or load in a JS file so that it runs for every page.

This leads me to another dialog box that says: The file .......is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. Try to find the installation package iTunes64.msi in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
That doesn't work either. What to do?

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Using comments feature in Pages 5.2

WITH PAGES 09, I COULD USE COMMENTS EFFECTIVELY...THEY WOULD SHOW IN THE MARGINS OF THE PIECE I WAS GIVING FEEDBACK FOR AND THE COMMENTS WOULD PRINT UP. NOW WITH THE MARVELOUS NEW PAGES VERSION 5.2(1860) COMMENTS FEATURE DISAPPEARS WITH EACH COMMENT AND I CANNOT PRINT OR EMAIL THE DOCUMENT TO THE WRITER - NOR CAN THEY EMAIL THEIR COMMENTS TO ME. Forget about Pages v5.2 for now. Comments are broke. If you had Pages ’09 previously installed prior to the Pages v5 update, the installation process moved the older Pages into /Application/iWork '09.
Another awareness issue is that the Pages v5 document format is completely unique to this version. It will not open Pages ’09 documents without filtering the features and functionality that are not presently implemented in Pages v5. Exporting documents, both Word and Pages ’09, have created issues for others.

I think it not an unreasonable feature request for a word prcessor. I feel that in scaling pages down to the iPad Apple has also made the product a little less attractive for professional usage. For example pages for iPad really should preserve Endnotes created elsewhere, but it does not at present. A shame, but we can hope that in subsequent versions of pages for iPad that support or preservation of advanced word processing features is introduced.
