Commenting not allowed after emailing pdfs

I am fairly new to acrobat. I am trying to save illustrator files as pdfs in order for clients to comment with stickies on the file. No matter what security settings I use after emailing the files my document settings change.... comments not allowed....???

To be sure we're on the same page, by "checked" you mean after opening in Acrobat you went to Comments>Enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader, correct?
The reason I ask is because if you open it in Acrobat and go to File>Properties and see that commenting is "allowed", that still doesn't mean that it is enabled for Reader users.

Good morning all,
I believe the following information may be helpful, I came across this issue this morning and found that this works:
Once you have completed your file in Acrobat Professional you need to open the "Comments" tab menu and choose "Enable for commenting and analysis in Reader" option.
This will save your file again and once opened in Reader the commenting functions will be enabled.
Why this is so when all security options in the Professional File are show 'allowed' is beyond my comprehension.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Comments Not allowed?

Hello freinds,
I have installed Adobe LiveCycle designer 8.2 in my windows 7 machine, i opened a brand new pdf and entered contact details, then am trying to write comments, but, when i saw its peoperties, i noticed that COMMENTS: NOT ALLOWED under security tab!! Pls. let me know how i can enable and so that i can write comments.

Just to add my bit to the discussion, which is the same as what George and Chuck are saying.
The issue is that the form is opening in the free Adobe Reader (even if opening in a browser, the Reader is still being used). As a result certain functionality is not available.
For example, if the form is not Reader Enabled, then users with Reader will not be able to add comments to the form.
Even if the form is Reader Enabled, if the form was originally saved as a Dynamic XML Form (in the LiveCycle Designer save-as dialog), then you will not be able to add comments.
When working with forms that are created in LiveCycle Designer, you can only add comments where the form was originally saved as a Static PDF Form in the save-as dialog.
Here is a summary. I suspect that your form is in Option 2, that is the form is not Reader Enabled and is opened in Reader.

JDBC + MySQL : "Operation Not Allowed After ResultSet Closed"

I have a very short piece of code. I use one connection to the database. I execute a query, get back a lot of rows, then iterate through the result set and for each row I get some information and then perform an insert into a different table.
The problem is that the big result set I am iterating through keeps closing sometime during the first iteration. Why? I am using three different statements:
1) Statement 1 is for the main query I want to iterate through
2) Statement 2 is for a quick lookup I perform (on a different table) for each item in the iteration.
3) Statement 3 is for the Insert statement which I perform for each item in the iteration. Again, I insert into a different table and I use "executeUpdate"
Given the I have three different statements and I am working with three different tables, why does my main result set that I am iterating through keep closing on me?
Here is the error I am getting:
java.sql.SQLException: Operation not allowed after ResultSet closed

I'd bet you can do this in a single INSERT with a SELECT in the database in one network roundtrip. The "quick lookup" might be a JOIN or a sub-SELECT. When you do a query, bring N rows back to the middle tier, then do an INSERT for each row that you retrieve it means (N+1) network roundtrips if you don't batch your INSERTs. I'd have a SQL expert give your code a look.

Setting 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed' for offline PDF

Hi,
Can anyone help on the following scenario?
Generate a PDF that does not allow user to copy contents within the PDF.
Setting the Document Restriction - 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed'
As this PDF is to be open offline, there will be no direct connection to the livecycle server hence not able to connect to the Rights Management Server to verify the policy.
How can this be achive?

You are correct in your understanding. Just to clarify one point though, the client machine does require the "Principal" key be downloaded from the RM server and "Synchronize for offline" is one way to get the key. In addition to this, when a user "authenticates" to the RM server to open a policy protected document, a "synchronization" occurs in the background and if there are "new" principal keys for other policies they will be downloaded even if they are not reklated to the document the user is currently accessing.
Now, in addition to Rights Management, Adobe has two other "encryption" options.
You could password protect the document to prevent "content copying", but this is not a very secure option, password protection is easily cracked, there is no user authentication, and third party PDF viewers may not respect\enforce the password protection.
Another option, which is very secure is to use the "Encrypt with certificates" option, where the PDF is encrypted for a user based on the users x509 certificate (public key). The user then uses their corresponding private key to authenticate themselves and view the document. Encrypt with certificates allows you to enforce authentication and you can allow\deny the same "permissions" that you can with RM protection. There is no requirement for a server, but the "certificate management" (certificate creation\provisioning\revocation) capability requires a PKI. Also, the user will need to have their private key available to open the document.

My guess would be that this is not a jdbc error.
First there is no SQLException.
Second IllegalStateException is something that can occur in Servlet use for various reasons.
Perhaps you have other information that suggests it can only be JDBC?

I had talked with three people at Apple tech support on the phone, one person in the Apple store in Indianapolis, plus the other places I mentioned. Only the one young man in the Apple store was even able to identify the problem which was the POP vs. IMAP issue. And then like you said he was only able to say he hoped it would be fixed in the next update release. I did call him back this morning and told him about your simple solution, that I had seen it at the Apple forum, and that he might suggest bringing this topic up at the next staff meeting. I also let my Verizon rep know and an agent at Comcast. Something so simple yet it took three days and a lot of frustration to get fixed. Thanks again. You're my hero! ~ Carol Thomas
Also forgot to mention ... I got the iPhone 6 Plus about three weeks ago and did not have this problem. But I did a backup of my iPhone 5S on the computer and then used that backup to restore to my new iPhone. The iPad I did differently and just set it up as a new iPad with no restoring from the old one. That must have made a difference on the phone because it was set up just like the 5S ... as a POP3.

XML-comments not allowed in IDOC_AAE-Adapter?

we have a File to IDOC scenario and are using the IDOC_AAE adapter for sending IDOCs to the SAP system.
In our mapping we have added some comments into the XML-IDOC-structure.
By sending the document to the SAP-system we are getting the following error:

idoc parsing error: (7) IDOC_ERROR_PARSE_FAILURE: Invalid XML 1.0 character

The problem seems to be the <!-- - Tag in the structure.
But the ! (U+0021) is a correct XML 1.0 character. I don't know why the IDOC-XML parser throws this exception.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem is?
When we remove the comments the IDOC could be sent successfully to the SAP system.
Are only IDOC-specific characters allowed here, no comments and no other XML-specific characters and structures?
This would be very strange.

When I provision a user to PeopleSoft, I am getting similar error: com.waveset.util.WavesetException: An error occurred adding user "userID' to resource 'PeopleSoft Component Interface'. com.waveset.util.XmlParseException: XML Error: 1:1: Content is not allowed in prolog.

"server does not allow relaying" email error

Since upgrading to iPhone 4, sending an email always results in the error message "A copy has been placed in your outbox. The recipient "......@...." was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. This happens regardless of the recipent. It also happens to a friend of mine who still has the iPhone 3G but has updated software. HELP PLEASE.

I was told there could be a problem with your Outgoing mail server settings and most likley have an Outgoing authentication error with your server. Make sure all your settings comply with your servers suggested settings for IMAP or POP3 etc. Usually located in options of the web version mail.
Most importantly make sure your username and passowrd are correct and added in the Outgoing Mail server

405: Method Not Allowed after using GetRemotePortalSession

Hi - I'm currently using portal version 5.0.3 and VS.NET 2003. I'm attempting to use a remote session through a test portlet (trying out one of the search samples) and I'm running into an issue. I believe I'm connecting to the remote server, but each time I attempt to call a method using one of the remote interfaces I'm getting:
The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method Not Allowed.
The portlet is configured to pass the login token - I can actually query that from the portletContext - after that, I'm sunk. Anyone have any ideas why I might be getting this?

For anyone who comes across this issue. Be sure to check your Portal Server Settings utility under the Portal URL Manager. This is what brought the error up for me. While there may be other causes its one easy thing to check. Under the .Net version of plumtree the Soap Server URL should read something like this:

Mainly because I do not want to Internet SEARCH for secrets, and HACKS that can really destroy my reputation, entertainment, and pleasure of owning a computer... I can not delete in Remove Programs ... the Adobe files to return to the Site and attach ( download ) a fresh copy ( as the listed ) gathering of subscribers prevent this from abuse? ... what is a good alternative and a FREE fix that does not include PC CleanUP Downloader, and other SPAM attachments that we have to DECLINE when (( these days )) download a particular program to place into our system for maintenance ... since there is a fiasco on Windows XP as of April 8th, that Date is giving us ALL Nightmares' ... and should not be a profitable measure of ( any reason ) is a BAD EXCUSE ... to the Consumer and its ability to enjoy a pleasant night at Home in front of a Fire and a small glass of Wine. What you may not realize (my American spelling) is that the forums are designed primarily to be accessed through your web browser in the forum web interface. Another disadvantage to accesing the forum by email is that you cannot see any edits to any post, as edits are not broadcast by email.
When I see a reply addressed to me, I always will try to correct any misunderstandings that may arise in other readers of the forum. It's not all about you.

Not allowed after reformatting

Grateful for any help ... I got spyware on my computer last week and couldn't get rid of it ... long story somewhat short, I backed up all my iTunes library including 44 purchased songs to discs. 17 discs actually.
Then I reformatted my computer.
When I synced up my iPod, it told me I could only have it synced on one computer and did I want to erase and resync it with what was on the library. I said yes.
It synced all the CDs/podcasts and whatnot, but would not sync my purchases. It told me I was not allowed to play them on that computer.
Please, can someone tell me how to get my purchased tunes back on my iPod?

Have you played one of the purchased songs on your new computer yet, authorizing it when prompted to do so by entering your Apple ID and password?
Once that's done, you should be able to transfer the songs to your iPod.
