Comments appear different on Reader

I added comments in Acrobat by using the line tool. When I roll over them with the mouse, the text alone comes up, which is what I want. When I send the file to someone else and he or she opens it in Reader, comment balloons appear next to every line I created. Also, the comment itself carries my name along with the comment. Is there a way to get rid of the balloon icons and my name in the comments?

The name is part of the properties of the PDF when you created the comment. Be sure your name is removed from the properties when you create the comment. I think that the balloon option is either a document property or a viewing property. Check those opening properties to see if there are choices.

  • Adobe Captivate Collaboration – Same Comments Appearing in Different Files

    Hi All,
I am having problems with the collaboration process. I reviewed a file yesterday and today I went to review a different file and it has the same comments I created in the other file yesterday.
    More details:
I sent a captivate file to a collogue to review using the collaboration process (file > collaborate > send file for shared review).  I choose to collect comments via my internal server.  I made two new folders
one for comments and one for review.  My collogue made comments and exported the file back and everything appeared fine, however today I sent my collogue anther file to review using the same process as above and she sees the same comments she made on my other file yesterday.
Why are the comments on one file appearing in the other file before it is even reviewed?
I can not find anyway for the comments to be deleted as a work around either.
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Amanda

    Amanda-
Have you had any luck solving this issue?  I have five *.CREV files that have been reviewed by  two people and for three of the lesson that one person commented on, all of their comments are the same even though they are in separate folders.  I also have the issue of comments appearing when it is a brand new file.  Thanks for any followup info you can provide.

  • Song information appears different in itunes library

generally go to FILE- ADD FOLDER TO LIBRAY , and import all songs from my hard drive into itunes , but the format of track names appear differently in the itunes track name area
1 - some of my track names are very long. When i copy into itunes library from the hard drive i see a different format
sometimes i dont see the full track name, if the track name is more than 35 characters
2 - but sometimes, even if it more than 35 characters i see the full track name
3 - sometimes - i only see half the track name, and surpringly, the first half of the track name has not been caught ( generally you would - as in the case of my first question - would expect to see the first part of the track name
4 - sometimes i see the track name in 2 parts - and though the artist name is included in part of the track name in the hard disk, in itunes it automatically is shown in the artist colomn, ( but note here - mostly the itunes library catches whatever is in the track name of the hard disk - and substitutes it in the track name of itunes )
DO I NEED to learn some kind of simple setting before i go inyo - FILE- ADD FOLDER TO LIBRAY

Solution found. I find this amazing, but the iTunes library and the iPod treat duplicates in different ways. In iTunes, if one accidentally ends up with a duplicate song (for example by ripping the same CD twice, not realizing it was ripped before) the iTunes library shows the song twice (and the underlying mp3 files exists twice in the store). And the number of songs showing in the library includes both copies of the song, the original and the duplicate. If you then synch up the iPod, however, iTunes only loads one copy of the song to the iPod. So in my case it transpired that there were 40 duplicates on my computer, none of which downloaded to the iPod, and that is why the song count was higher in the iTunes library, and why the volume of music in the library showed as 240 MB more than what was in the iPod. Very strange design that iTunes knows enough not to download duplicates, but still shows them in the library. Solution is to go to Edit / Show Duplicates in the iTunes library, but be careful as there will be many false positives.

  • HTML signature appears different in email body

I attached an HTML signature in the Thunderbird preferences but it appears different when I send an email to myself. I understand that formatting can change between different email clients but I assumed it would appear the same in Thunderbird mail as it does in the settings. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for your response! The signature was created in Word and is basic with no graphics. I exported the file from Word as HTML then used the select HTML file option for signature in Thunderbird settings. I also have copy and pasted the raw code. Either way it looks correct in the preview in settings but the font doesn't stay when I send an email to myself and receive within Thunderbird. Perhaps the preview will show any HTML correctly even if Thunderbird can't receive it that way? Thanks again!

  • Image appears different in Library and Develop modes?

I have an image that appears different depending on whether it is in the Library Module or the Develop Module. Only this one image does this. The develop module version is the one I want to work on in Photoshop. However, when I click on "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3" the resulting tiff that opens in PS has an appearance that matches that of the Library module version of the image. It makes no difference whether I click on "Edit in PS CS3" from the Library or Develop module, the tiff always matches the Library Module version of the raw file.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
    Thanks.
    J.

How are you calibrating your monitor? The only real difference between the Library and develop module is that the Library module shows a preview that is generally stored in the adobeRGB color space. The Develop module uses a color space based on prophotoRGB primaries and can encompass any color your camera can capture. It is possible that your green falls outside of adobeRGB and gets clipped in the library preview, while in the develop module it shows them. This is only possible to see if you have a wide gamut monitor, or when your calibration software generates a perceptual rendering intent. If you export and you do not use the prophotoRGB color space, you will loose these colors.

  • Same colors appearing different in the same document

I have a document where I have filled different table cells with the same RGB color. However, they sometimes appear as two different shades, one darker than the other. I checked to be sure it was the same RGB color and it was, but it appears quite different both in InDesign and when I export it to pdf. Any idea why the same color is appearing differently in the same document?

It doesn't appear to be a monitor problem, as the colors are different both on my laptop screen and on my external monitor. As I do not have the ability to print a hard copy before the file gets sent to the printer to make a proof, I need to know which is the "right" color (or at least the once closest to how it will print). Even if the colors are showing up differently on screen, if the swatch for both is exactly the same, will it show up as the same color once the actual hard copy is printed?

  • Highlight and comments function in Adobe Reader 9

Is it possible to activate the highlight and comment function in Adobe Reader 9. An online help line suggests that this is possible. Is this for a different version of Reader?

It is possible, but it requires that the file be given certain rights in advance in Acrobat. With later versions these rights became obsolete and Reader can add highlights and sticky notes even without them.

  • Why do my RAW files appear different between programs?

I have rendered a series of three RAW images as an HDR file in Photoshop CC, saved as a 16-bit TIFF file, and imported it into Lightroom. The image appears different between the two programs. The Lightroom image appears to have some editing done already and is not nearly as flat as the image in Photoshop. I have made sure my Adobe software is up to date concerning both programs and the camera raw information that can be updated via Adobe.

The iPad stores the raw photo data, but displays an iPad optimized version of the original image in its place.
This image is usually an optimized JPEG image, so the quality will not be the same as the raw image file.

  • Color appearing differently in different Adobe CS5 applications

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me why color tends to appear different on screen in different Adobe applications, even if I have synchronised the color settings for CS5 applications?
The following image provides an example, where you can see the same image viewed in InDesign (top left), Bridge (top right), Photoshop (bottom left) and Acrobat (bottom right).
All the CS5 applications are set to the "Europe General Purpose 3" color setting, and the image has the CMYK profile Coated FOGRA39 (from "Europe General Purpose 3"). The PDF was exported from InDesign with the "Press Quality" preset.
As you can see it appears quite similar in InDesign and Bridge, but really different in Photoshop and Acrobat.
    Thanks,
    Eivind

Hi, I thought you might be Norwegian
I just recently bought the monitor, and since it comes calibrated from the factory (according to Dell) I'm sticking with factory settings so far. I do have a calibrator however. The monitor profile doesn't seem to be the problem though. When checking on my MacBook Pro screen it's the same problem.
Colors seem slightly more consistent after I flattened the PSD file and saved it as a JPEG, even if the color settings are still the same. Note: I have messed with the color of the image since the last screen grab, but it is the same version of the image in all application windows in the screen grab below.
Annoying that you can't trust a layered PSD to come out right. When working with the layered PSD it also made a huge difference when I changed the InDesign export option from regular "Press Quality" to "Press Quality" with the PDF/X-4 standard activated. Is there any good explanation for this?
I'll try changing the CMYK profile settings and see how that turns out.

  • Comments - appearing on blog but upon opening iWeb no comment are shown

I am unable to edit/delete my comments because they are not appearing on iWeb when I open it on my computer. However, the comments are appearing on the blog. For instance, on my most recent entry there are 4 comments but when I open iWeb on my MacBook Pro it shows no comments. Weird? Any ideas?

Answered my own question - apparently it was a glitch and when I published a new blog entry the old comments appeared. Just a glitch I guess.

  • Can cells set to custom format appear differently on different versions of MS OFFICE?

I'm currently involved in a data enrichment project where we convert some financial data for our clients in excel. We've been facing a problem with date formats in the reports sent to us by the client.
We're supposed to enter 4 different dates in separate columns with 3 different formats. For example in one column the date format should appear in the dd/mm/yyyy format and in another as dd-mm-yyyy. What we've done is set all these cells to CUSTOM format
and in the TYPE dialog in the Custom Tab typed "dd\/mm\/yyyy" where we need the date to appear as dd/mm/yyyy and "dd-mm-yyyy" where we need the date to appear as dd-mm-yyyy.
However, the client says that when he downloads the file on his computer he sees the date formats set to DATE and not CUSTOM. Is this possible?
Can a cell set to CUSTOM FORMAT appear differently on a different version of MS OFFICE?
Does the Operating System also have a role to play in this?
For example if we've typed our data in OFFICE 2007 on a system with XP as the OS, will it not open as CUSTOM when we open it in OFFICE 2010 with Windows 7 as the OS?
We need serious help on this as this confusion has put our project in jeopardy.

Thanks for the help Jim. Just to make it clearer we haven't used quotation marks in the date formats. Further, we were told to use back slash by the client cause according to them this would help in keeping the date formats as fixed to custom format on any
computer that the file is opened on.
What I'm trying to figure out is that if a cell is set to a custom format, can it appear differently when opened on a different computer?
We've sent the file using Sendspace.com to our clients and when we download the file and open it on any version of MS Office we still see the custom formats in the date fileds. However, the client insists that it appears differently on their computers.
Is it possible for a cell set to a custom format to not appear as custom on a different computer?
Just to remind you again that we've downloaded the file on almost every version of Office and have noticed no change in the formats set by our team. How then is it possible that the dates doesn't appear as custom formats on their system?
I would really appreciate if you could help me solve this situation.

  • Finder Now Appears Differently

About a month and a half ago, my finder started appearing differently where it was less stream lined and would show the first pane starting back a couple levels where it would list my drives and volumes. See the link:
    http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?image=finderincorrecttq5.png
Occasionally, it will still pop up the old way (like when I am searching for a file to attach to an email) but how do I get it to permanently revert to the setup of the next image link? That's how I love it.
    http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=findercorrectxq2.png
What would have caused this switch up? Thanks in advance for any help!

If I'm understanding you correctly, the solution is to click the "pill" shaped icon in the upper right of the Finder window.
If that doesn't help, post back-and remember, more detail always helps.
    Good luck!

  • Published website appears differently on the net

    Hi,
I have published a webiste onto the internet but it appears differently and out of line on th net, ie not as i saved or intended for it to look like, it is the case when looking on a PC to the site.
what is happening here? please help.
    Keith

even with Safari, it's not appearing to what it should be.
    What is missing?
i thought i web saved all text and images as JPEGs? so it wouldn't matter what text is used, it appears on the screen as it should for everyone....
It doesn't always convert all text to images. You may have to add shadow to force this sometimes.
By the way, you are not preserving the iWeb site structure when you upload, it looks like you are omitting the folder which iWeb creates which has the name you gave your site inside the iWeb app. If your site has any RSS links, this will break them.
