Comments in adobe reader not showing even after saving...

Hi,
We are using Adobe Reader X and have been emailed a document to comment on. We've used strikeout and replace, sticky notes and additional text commentary.
We've been saving the document as we went along in a folder that we had access to (not the email temp folder) and when we closed the document and re-opened, none of the comments were showing at all.
We then tried adding one comment, saving as a different file name, reopened and still nothing showing. We have als tried opening the same file in Acrobat - again nothing showing.
At one point we added a comment box, saved it, reopened it and the comment box showed (fantastic - we thought).. so we added another.. closed and reopened and now only the first one shows and nothing else.
This is becoming a little bit of a brain teaser and a bit frustrating as we fear we've lost all previous comments.
Can you help?

What happens now when you click the link or button to print checks? Does Firefox's PDF viewer come up or nothing happens at all?
If you need to completely disable the viewer, there is a hidden preference you can change.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''pdfjs''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''pdfjs.disabled''' to toggle its value to true.
If you test in your original tab, does that make any difference?

Have Adobe Reader not show bleed

hello. For proof reading, I'm exporting my InDesign CS3 file (that uses 3mm of bleed on all sides) to a pdf legible for the customer. Would there be a way to have Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (on Mac OS X 10.5.2) actually not show the bleed area (instead of just showing the bleed box which is achieved by checking 'show art, trim & bleed boxes' in the preferences)?

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Ipad3 with new iMail does not show mailboxes. Have tried swithcing SSL on and making port same number 993 as imac; then telling imail in imac to synchronise but to no avail still no mailboxes appearing on ipad mail. My husbands new ipad air worked straight away same OS?

I'm sorry. I probably wasn't clear enough in my response. What I am saying is that one can create mailboxes in the Mac mail app and those mailboxes can be for local storage only - the "on my Mac" mailboxes. Those do sync to any other device. The ability to creat those mailboxes is a feature of the Mac mail app.
You cannot create additional mailboxes on the iPad unless your email account is an IMAP account. I am not familiar with BT internet at all so I don't know if you have IMAP or not. I assume that your husband has the same email provider and if his mailboxes did sync to the iPad, then yours should as well.
You can check to be sure if you don't know if your email account is an IMAP account. If you go to your email account in the iPad Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom. If an new mailbox appears, you have IMAP.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

Sms not showing even after ios8.1 update

I been having problem as sms keep disappearing. Always need to restart iphone 6 to show back my sms. I cant reset phone as new as alot of my sms are very important. Please resolve this issue asap.

The problem is after restarting all my sms will show. But after i start using other apps on the phone and or after received sms. The rest of the sms just cannot be found (not always but happen frequently). Always gotta reboot.
I had even went to the svc centre located at plaza singapura last week and ask the staff. She ran a check and told me is a common problem (apple is aware) and the next ios update will resolve the issue as i told her i cant erase all contents for my phone and set as a new phone. She did a check and told me that my sms apps keep crashing.

Bookmarks do not show even after restoring them.

I regularly back up my bookmarks. I haven't been able to access this computer for a while because I was in a place where wrieless is the only option and this computer can't use wireless. I used firefox on another computer, and I have gotten several updates between the last time I used this computer, and now. I updated this computer, and I tried to transferr my bookmarks from that computer to this one after updating firefox. I had deleted all my bookmarks on this computer.
This time, when I tried to transferr the bookmarks, it failed. I didn't even get an error message. I just got the "using this back up will delete your bookmarks" message, and then nothing changed when I hit okay. I've also tried to restore bookmarks using the files on this computer with no success.
I had also tried to transferr the bookmarks once when this computer couldn't access the internet, but I got an "incompatible file" error. I had assumed this was because the firefox on the working computer was version five and this computer's was still version four.

Firefox 13 + Adobe Reader not showing embed PDF

Firefox 13 is not showig the embed PDFs in a Webpage until I change the tab or I open the PDF containing page in new tab or new page.
Most its happening after first time opening.

LR 5 Raw images and some jpegs not showing even after Sync.

I have LR 5 (latest update). When I was trying to edit a photo from 12/2013 I noticed that only the jpeg images were previewing. I ran a sync of the folder which showed no files to import. The files are there; I've used them, I can see them. Looks like it's all the files in folder 2013 pics, but not 2014 pics. Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks!

Adobe Flashplayer not responding even after the download says the installation is complete

I have tried to go on several websites and view content - Youtube, Slacker, and some websites that I need for educational purposes. When I try to view contact or upload a song, I get a message stating that I need the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player to do so. I have been through this process several times today, but each time that I download the Adobe Flash Player, it tells me that the installation is complete; however, I am still unable to view content or listen to the songs. I have restarted my computer several times and that hasn't worked. I can see that the Flashplay is listed on my add or remove programs in the control panel, but it is not responding when I enter into these websites. I have called technical support a couple of times today with no resolution to my problem. PLEASE HELP!!!! What can I do? Thanks

Hi td, So glad that worked for you. That is always the first thing to look for as the SWO must be there and be the correct version, it is an absolute! Without that, FP will not work and you can take that to the bank:-) A lot of users get in trouble by trying every suggestion and dig a deeper hole and then it takes a lot of time and effort to recover.
The process of a successful uninstall of the old FP and the install of the latest version, if followed is really easy. Most problems occur because some steps aren't followed.
Adobe has the next FP update in Beta now, when it will come out I don't know, but post back if you like if you have any questions at that time. Preventive action is always easier than the cure, believe me. But with yours it appears you did a
good job of installing the FP update.

Dynamic Subform not showing up after saving and opening.

After I fill out the pdf, save it, and open it, the dynamic subform does not appear. There are currently 2 subforms that are controlled by checkboxes and function in the following manner:
-If the "No" checkbox is checked, the "SubmissionNo" subform should appear, the "Submission" subform should be hidden, and the "Yes" checkbox should be unchecked
-If the "Yes" checkbox is checked, the "Submission" subform should appear, the "SubmissionNo" subform should be hidden, and the "No" checkbox should be unchecked
Both checkboxes default to being unchecked and save properly, but after I close the pdf and then open it, the appropriate subform that should be showing is still hidden despite having the "Yes" or "No" checkbox being checked.
I have the following script in the docReady of SubmissionNo:

and I have the following script in the docReady of Submission:

That should work. You're missing semicolons after each statement and I thought that might be tripping it up but it worked fine when I tested it, every statement in JavaScript should end with a semicolon but if there is just one line I guess it works ok (see below).

When you are in Acrobat press CTRL-J and the JavaScript console should open. Then click the checkbox and see if any error messages appear in the console window.
If that doesn't show anything if you can share your form via acrobat.com (or some other file sharing site) then I can take a look. If you use acrobat.com then once you have uploaded the file you need to select it and Share it and then Publish it, then you can paste the link here.

Adobe Audition not retaining markers after saving

I'm slightly confused as to why Adobe Audition 3 won't save it's markers after I have closed and saved.When I reopen they are gone.

What format are you saving as? Markers are only saved with .wav files. Is the little bottom left box ticked in the Save As page for "Save other non-audio information"?

Have you run it in a debugger? That will show you exactly what is happening and why.

Recover comments in Adobe Reader 11.0.2

I recently made the huge mistake of closing an open pdf document in Adobe Reader 11.0.2 without saving my last 300 comments. As far as I have understood, and found out, the AutoSave folder is automatically deleted when the program closes. However, I have defeated this hurdle by using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Through this, I was able to recover a file called 1.tmp from the AutoSave folder.
So, that has left me with my original pdf file intact (missing it's last 300 comments), and a file called 1.tmp.
Now 1.tmp is only 313 kb, and the entire book is 85 581 kb, so obviously it isn't the entire book. But when I open 1.tmp with notepad, get something like what you see below. This is just a tiny piece of the complete file. And in this textfile, I can still see all the comments I am missing.
So, my question to you: Can I somehow merge the 1.tmp file with the original file to import all my comments again ? Because obviously they are still there in my 1.tmp file.
I really really hope some of you have some hints for me how to manage this. Oh, and before somebody asks, I have tried to open 1.tmp in Adobe Reader, no luck.

I have tried that, and Reader only tells me the file is not recognized as a pdf and can therefore not be opened.
Tried pretty much everything I can think of now, but to no avail.
As I see it, as long as I have the original pdf and the tmp file (placed in the AutoSave folder), I should be able to force Reader to reopen the autosave file and give me all my comments back.
Maybe there is some corruption in the autosave file, and that is what is causing the problem. Since the file was recovered after deletion, I have no guarantee that the tmp file is 100% ok.
The way I see it, Adobe Reader shouldn't delete the AutoSave folder when you close it normally. Wouldn't it make more sense if it only deleted files older than 7 days, or when the total size of the AutoSave folder exceeded a preset maximum ?
I mean, it's pretty normal to be working with comments in Adobe Reader, at least when you proofread a ton of documents, magazines, books, etc. on a daliy basis, and it really sucks when you loose a days worth of work in the blink of an eye...
Anyway, that's my view of the world.
