Comments on Adobe Pro

I know this topic has been asked a lot, but I am not able to figure it out.
We have a worklow of PDF documents in our office, any user can create a PDF(adobe 8.0) and save to to a common server. We want anyone to add comments.
I downloaded a trail version of adobe pro. I created a pdf and saved it in a common network folder where everyone has access.
I can add comments, but other users cannot add comments to that pdf.
Is this because only I have adobe pro on my machine and they dont?
If I buy one complete version can I give access to all users to add comments to documents they create?
Or do all of them have to have adobe pro? That will make the whole enterprise very expensive.
Thanks

If they can create a PDF, it's a good chance that they have Acrobat Standard or Pro since you can't do it with Reader.
If they have a third party PDF creator (like an application called Cute PDF), I couldn't say whether it would have that ability.
If they have either Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro, they can add comments.
If they only have Reader, then someone with Acrobat Pro (not Standard) has to enable the PDF first.

  • Commenting in Adobe Acrobat Pro X vs. XI

Adding comments and annotations in Adobe Pro X was easier, I could just type on the text and the annotations would be added.  With XI, I have to continuously click on the commenting icons.  Am I missing something?

Right-click the tool and select Keep Tool Selected.

  • Adobe Pro not allowing me to comment????

I received a PDF that has no restrictions and when I got to select the Markup Tool or Sticky notes, they are dark and not allowing me to selct them.  I went into the Customize toolbars and selected all the tools I want to allow but I still unable to select the tools.
    any ideas?

Well you say "Adobe Pro" but you're in the Reader forum. Can I assume you mean that you have Reader?
If so, those tools won't be active until someone with Adobe Acrobat enables the PDF so that Reader users can use them.

My Adobe Pro 8.0 continues to crash.  There is a long error message associated with that which I will post at the end of the message.  I uninstalled and reinstalled along with some other associated programs apparently.  I'm now getting a message saying shBadNewsComing saying that shAuthenticationFailed with the Adobe symbol on it.  My Adobe continue to fail and the online customer service representative would not help me resolve the issue as my version was "too old."

  • Sequence multiple PDFs to activate comments with Adobe Reader

    Hi all!
At first i would say: Sorry for my bad english - iam german.
Iam a System Administrator and one of our Business customers have multiple old PDFs (about 90GB - yes 90 Gigabytes!) and he bought Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro last month and all other Workers in his Company are using the Reader 9.
He want all 90GB of his PDFs to be enabled for commenting with Adobe Reader. But there are some one hundereds of thousands of PDFs - so iam looking for a sequencing solution to activate the commentary function in every PDF. I havent found this function in the sequence Function in Acrobat.
So is it possible to sequence it or do he has to activate it manually?
    Thanks for any answer!
    Greetz, Martin

LiveCycle Reader Extension requires you purchase or own a server. You
must know how to run the server, then you must purchase the product for
use in the server. It is not cheap. But it can handle 90 Gigs of pdfs.
Be ware that the size of the pdfs is not relevant. When pricing the
software you probably need to know approximately how many pdfs you need
    to prepare and how often.

  • Adobe Pro on 2 different platforms?

Why is it not possible to install Adobe Pro on 2 different platforms? It allows me to install on 2 computers but not 2 platforms? I'm having issues understanding why I'm not allowed to install on 2 computers regardless of the platform.

It's an issue because they chose to do it that way, and sell serial numbers which work on Windows, or Mac. They make the rules. You won't find Adobe here defending or commenting on their policies.
Allowing two computers is more generous than some companies.
I've heard it said that, if you subscribe instead, because you don't get a serial number, you can have one Windows and one Mac.

  • Printing preview with adobe pro or acrobat reader

When I print a document I generally use the Preview button to check what the document looks like.
Is it normal that with Adobe Pro or Reader the Preview buttons returns the following comment "preview is not supported".
    Merci

Yes, that seems like the expected behavior - I am not exactly sure why Adobe does this, but it happens here too.
If it's important, you could ask on the Adobe site or send feedback to Apple asking why this occurs.

  • Commentaires adobe reader et adobe pro

    bonjour,

Dalb

  • Adobe Pro XI Software

We began with a Word document, then someone made changes and returned it in pdf format without comments.  Will Adobe Pro XI allow me to determine what changes were made?

You can try, using the Compare Documents command under Tools - Document processing.

  • How to enable commenting for Adobe Reader users--missing menu option?

According to the help file, I can enable commenting in Acrobat Pro X so that Adobe Reader users can use annotation and commenting tools.  The help file says:
"In an open PDF, choose Comments > Enable For Commenting In Adobe Reader, and then save the PDF.:"
However, all is see on my menubar is:
According to the help file, I *should* see something like the following:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro X.  I have installed Acrobat Pro X on a machine that has never had Acrobat Pro installed on it.  Each time I see only the shortened version of menu options.
So, why do I only see File, Edit, View, Window and Help?  Where are  the other menu items, such as Comments, Forms, Tools, etc?  Is there  something I need to do to enable them?

*Thank you*.  That worked.  How odd that the help file was out-of-date with my version of Acrobat.  Thanks you again!

I am trying to set up Adobe Pro * and install it on the virtual XP mode in Windows 7.  However, it keeps telling me in XP mode that an instance of installation is already running.  I restarted the computer, inserted the disk, killed autoplay in windows 7 itself, and then went to install it in XP Mode.  Still get the same error message.  Is it impossible to install in XP mode?  If I only install on the main computer OS and not in virtual XP will I still be able to print to PDF in XP mode?
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Ellen

I don't have a response and you might have to wait a bit. Not too many folks run virtual XP. In my experience with virtual XP, not everything is available. I tried it for a HDTV that did not have a driver for Win7 and it never would work. So, I am probably not the best one to comment as my luck has not been too good.

  • Adobe Pro 9 Shared Review Issues

I have run into an issue with a "Shared Review" on a document.  I am using Windows 7 Pro SP1; Dell Vostro 260, Processor i3-2120, 8GB RAM, 64 Bit OS. Adobe Pro 9 is the Adobe product that I am using to initiate the review process. The document was on the company server with an original copy in another folder for back-up purposes.  So that means I had the original in one folder and the document for review in another.  Now here is the problem, I went to the document that was designated for review:
    Adobe Pro 9
    1. Opened Document
    2. Comment - "Send for Shared Review"
    3. "Pop-Up" appeared "Send for Shared Review"
    4. Under "How do you want to collect comments from your reviews?" Selected "Automatically collect comments on my own internal server"
    5. "Where would you like to internally host your shared review file", Selected "Network Folder"
    6. Selected folder from appropriate network folder
    7. Attached names for reviewers
    8. Each reviewer entered and no problems there
Now upon working along through other PDF documents one of my co-workers noticed that every PDF document that was opened anywhere on our internal server has the "Shared for Review" integrated somehow. How do I go about fixing this issue? This is going to cause major issues on our internal server for this to be the situation.
Also how do you remove the track for review from a document?  This is being asked since the share for review has attached even to my original document and I cannot change it.

Obviously there were no answers to this issue. In reading this was an ongoing issue that has yet to be resolved within Adobe. It appears to go back several years with numerous threads on very similar issues. Does Adobe just not care about this that anyone can see. As a small business the constant upgrading is very inefficient cost wise.

  • Comment to Adobe (saving forms)

First of all, great job with Adove LiveCycle Designer.
Ive downloaded the demo version and am loving it so far. As for all products, they are never perfect; this one is pretty close though.
Comment: Not being able to save form values via Adobe Reader is a huge "minus"!
Background: The forms we have (right now in word format) are usually about 15-40 pages long. Our clients dont fill out this form in one step. They usually cant fill out the form in one run if they wanted to. The different sections require input from the whole company and usually get passed around.
Again, I love the product. I am not sure if we can use it though, without this saving ability. We cant require our clients to purchase Adobe Pro just to fill out our forms.
    All the best,
    Kevin

This is always a hot topic, and lots of people comment about how they can't do a local save using the FREE Reader program. I always find it funny when people compare it to their Word forms, as they always neglect to mention the significant amount of money they pay MS for that ability to save.
I'm not saying this to argue, just to make a point. I've always thought there should be a better way to enable smaller companies that cannot afford the enterprise solutions currently available to do this. Luckily, there soon will be, as Acrobat 8 will provide the ability to enable save rights in a PDF. So while it won't be completely free, one license of Acrobat 8 will suffice.
As yet, i'm not sure about any dependencies that may exist with this (ie: if the users will HAVE to be using Reader 8+ to take advantage of this), but I think this is a good step in the right direction.

    Donc voici mes questions :
    1. Adobe Pro est-il le bon produits ?
    A.      Moins cher
    B.      Plus adapter
    C.      Plus facile d’utilisation
