Comments on Dashboard

hi Experts,
I came across a requirement that i have dashboard containing the Regional sales month wise.(this is been done).
now, Say CFO have looked at the reports and want to add some comments on to it ,
Also that comments should be visible to other users belonging to that region.
Also CFO can add comment with the different Fonts , bold ,italics and colors...
is this possible..
if need more clarification on the issue , i will provide it.
Regards
Ankit

Very much possible...
now, Say CFO have looked at the reports and want to add some comments on to it ,
Also that comments should be visible to other users belonging to that region. This is done using OBIEE writeback functionality feature where you need to add a new column in DB, RPD and use it for commentary solutions. Also, you can apply data level security for data visibility.
http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/09/20/oracle-bi-ee-101332-write-back-option-budgetingplanning/
http://www.obieetalk.com/obiee-write-back-solution-insert-and-update-database
Also CFO can add comment with the different Fonts , bold ,italics and colors...For this you will have to work with a JAVA programmer here to get a code for spell checker which can be called in the report. Also, this will require unwar/war/deploy of analytics.war file.
Hope this info is useful..

  • Travelling comments in siebel via dashboard

    Hi All,
Currently users use a note pad to document the information that should go to a comments of a service request. They do this by navigating across various screens and capture the relevant information and store it in a notepad in their machine. once they have gathered all the required information, they go back to the service request and update the comments of the service request with the information from the notepad.
We are looking for such a notepad functionality with in the Siebel .
Using the customer dashboard, following is the approach we are looking for . Please let us know if any one implemented the below or any such similar solution to address the requirement. If so, please share the technical details on how the solution is implemented. Appreciate your responses
    1. Make comments editable in the customer dashboard.
    2. User can update the comments in the customer dashboard while they navigate across the screens to gather the information.
    3. Once the user is done collecting all the required information, user will click a button on the customer dashboard which will then take the comments from dashboard , update the comments of the corresponding service request and then go to the service request screen.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Deepak Veeravalli.

    Nice requirement indeed.
What comes to mind first of all is of course Marketing segmentation...but even there you're seeing the list of records in OBI EE and jump to the OLTP on a record-by-record basis. The result sets get written to the OLTP rather than being applied as a search-spec, but that's not what you need, so scrap that unfortunately.
Gonna have a look whether the web service interface contains something useful. (Think "target list" funtionality on the CRM side...). The Easy-BI WS won't help here (equally unfortunately) since "executeRequest" wouldn't know your currently chosen prompts.
    BBL with some more input.

  • Stickies help.

I need to restore my stickies. Not the dashboard, the other ones from the app. Does anyone know where that file is located? I have a lot of notes and I use it a lot. It is somewhere on my Time Machine drive but I have no idea where. I have Time Machine off so I can go rooting through it for the file.
Please help as I am desperate.
    Paul

Your comment about Dashboard has me confused, but if we are talking the data on the coloured notes opened by the Stickies app I believe you need to restore the file called StickiesDatabase in ~/Libary.

    Regards,

I am using following power shell command.
    $contentService = [Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWebService]::ContentService
    $devDashboardSettings = $contentService.DeveloperDashboardSettings
    $devDashboardSettings.DisplayLevel = "On"
    $devDashboardSettings.Update();
I have used this commands on Sharepoint 2013 Foundation. In that, it shows small icon for DD. But when I am clicking on it, it doesn't show anything. Just blank screen. When I used same commands with Sharepoint 2013 server vesion, these commands works for me.
Does this mean that, in Sharepoint Foundation, It doesn't provide Developer Dashboard. ?
Please comment below , if you have any idea.

  • How  to get the value of multi-select in the   Dashboard Prompt

I have a multi-select prompt in the Dashboard Prompt,  what I want is,   how do I know that user has choose one value,
for examle,  for some reasons,  if user didn't choose any value,  then I will set one column in answer as "customer office" , if user choose one value, then the column in answer will be "customer name".
    any comments, thanks.

    Hi,
first define the presentation variable for the required column prompt. ex: PV
Then in report level set the filter for that column = @{PV}{customer office}. here u have to give default value as "customer office", so by default the report in dashboard will show customer office even though the user does not select any value from dashboard prompt.
    Mark If Helpful/correct.
    Thanks.

Have you tried rebuilding your iPhoto library?
And your comments indicate that you may not understand iPhoto at all - you should not be inside the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it - and iPhoto does not duplicate photos  - more details of yoru work flow would help sort this out

  • Multiple kernel panics after updating to Drobo Dashboard 2.6.3

Hi, I had a Drobo 5D running fine on my system for several months, using Drobo Dashboard 2.6.2. A couple of days ago, I unfortunately decided to update to the latest version, 2.6.3, and immediately started getting random kernel panics. I tried several things, including back-reving to 2.6.2, but it didn't fix the problem.
Drobo wants to charge me $170 to help with the issue, so I'd like to confirm it's a problem with their software first. Drobo Dashboard installs a kernel extension to support iSCSI over Thunderbolt, and I see that specifically called out in the backtrace on some of the panics.
I pasted in the info from my last 2 panics below. If anyone can help root cause this, I'd really appreciate it!

Uninstall the Drobo software and disconnect the device. See whether the panics stop.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

  • Is there a way to create editable tags in a dashboard section?

Is there a way to create editable tags in a dashboard section?
The requirement is - User should be able to enter comments in a edit box for a section in a dashboard and save it. For other users, this should show up as a non-editable comment while for the user it should be editable box.
Example: In a report in a section on dashboard for Supplier Trends, a Purchase Manager should enter the commments -" This weeks trends show no issues. Next week watch out for supplier X". For everyone other than him, this should show up as comments.
    1. Is there a way to achieve this functionality?
    2. Can this be achived using write back option?
    3. Or will this require java scripting?
    Thanks

    Hi,
If you want to have a better experience of your music files, how about just use WMP to enjoy all the songs, you can
sort by Artists or Album or whatever you like. There, you can have a better and easier way to organize all your music
    files.
For Windows Explorer, did you mean
medium size icons in artist, while list icon in albums, you can just organize as you want like the following screenshot.

  • Brand new iMAC, Mountain Lion installed, dashboard widgets will not download. Webpage times out. Any suggestions?

Just purchased a brand new iMAC and sucessfully performed download and install of Mountain Lion (free upgrade). Discovered that dashboard widgets will not download as webpage times_out in both Safari and Firefox. Already set security to allow downloads from 'anywhere' but with no change. Downloads from anywhere else works fine, just widgets won't work, and I've been trying for several days now. Any suggestions? (firewall is off).

  • Multiple Hierarchies in one dimension - comments?

    multiple hierarchies
    Hi Experts,
I'd like your comments on my implementation of multiple hierarchies in one dimension.- especially if this can be done in a way that:
    a) still enables users to choose the hierarchy in a dashboard prompt
    b) reduces maintenance to a minimum
The dimension groups ages into several different groups like the example below:
    Hierarchy1 Hierarchy2
    Age......Groups........Groups.....
    0........0-2...........0-5
    1........0-2...........0-5
    2........0-2...........0-5
    3........3-5...........0-5
    4........3-5...........0-5
    75.......70-75.........70-80
    76.......76-80.........70-80
Right now I've implemented this by defining one dimension having one hierarchy:
    Total
    ....Hierarchy
    .......Group
    .........Age
The underlying logical table is based on several logical table sources (LTS) - one for each hierarchy as shown in the first example(Hierarchy1, Hierarchy2).Every LTS has a fragmentation definition filtering on values on 'hierarchy-level'.
Columns in the logical table (and of course in the underlying LTS) are:
    Column               mapped to hierarchy-level
    - Hierarchy          Hierarchy
    - Hierarchy_id          Hierarchy
    - Group          Group
    - Group-id          Group
    - Age               Age
    Advantages:
A answers / dashboard user can select one or more hierarchies by using a dashboard prompt.
Adding a new hierarchy (a new grouping) doesn't need changes in the dimension itself
    Disadvantages:
A new grouping needs manual steps to implement
    - a new physical table
    - a new LTS attached to the logical table (including the fragmentation content)
Thanks for your time and comments

  • How to create 'NOT in between' dashboard prompt on a column

    Hello Guys,
I have a simple request where the dashboard prompt has to send in data for 'NOT in between'. OBIEE does not give this option by default..
Any one who tried this .. can you please help with some pointers on this.
Column1 less than 100 or greater than 2000 --> This condition has to be sent from the dashboard. So my option in SQL is to use NOT in between 100 and 2000.
    Thanks in advance
    Kris

    Hi kris,
in the prompts you will have not between condition check out....if not write a SQL like this for the prompt
SELECT FROM table_name WHERE column_name not between 100 and 2000*
    (OR)
    SELECT FROM table_name WHERE column_name >= 100 AND column_name<= 2000*
you want values in that range then the SQL should be
    SELECT FROM table_name WHERE column_name between 100 and 2000*
    check this article
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/02/26/oracle-bi-ee-101332-between-prompts-for-date-columns-using-presentation-variables
    UPDATED POST
in place of constant values play with your session variables or Presentation variables by writing this above SQL according to your requirment and you would get your solution.Give a try then comment is it working or not.
    Hope answers your question.
    Cheers,
