Commerce in Portal 8.1

Where can i find commerce examples for portal 8.1
Thanks

It seems that 8.1 has a back compatibility with Portal 7, so i downloaded 7.0 and
browsed the wlcs sample.

    Hi Abdul,
    Base Customization starts with the CR100 - BASE CUSTOMIZATION. You need to have a good understanding of the CRM Business Transaction, Business Partners, Organization Modules and Products related technical details.
    As for the technical Questions, the best points is SDN as it contains mostly the live questions and scenarios which no one else will be able to provide you. Also put a debug point in the existing code and try to get into deep as much as possible.
    For any doubts you can always refer SDN.
    For the business functionality you can start with the following:

  • Production B2C web shop sites

    Hi all,
      I was looking to see if anyone could give me a URL of an existing B2C web shop that I can look at to see the software package in action. So far the demo sites that I have looked at have been extremely slow. Our e-commerce sites are currently in .net, and we would like to move to the web shop application, but what we have seen so far has been very disappointing performance-wise compared to our existing applications. We are currently migrating from a custom ERP to SAP and looking to convert four e-commerce sites to a CRM E-Commerce/Enterpirse Portal solution. Thanks.

  • Portal Commerce Templates in WLP 8.1?

    Hi;
    Just having a first look around the new WebLogic Platform 8.1, I wanted to
    understand the strategy for developing and deploying e-Commerce websites.
    It seems clear that it should be possible to host an existing WebLogic Portal
    7 SP2 e-Commerce templates based web-site in a new WebLogic Portal 8.1 compatibility
    domain.
    The WLP 7 commerce templates are based on deprecated WebFlow and Pipeline technology
    which is being superseded by PageFlow.
    Will BEA or a partner will be supplying a WLP 7 SP2 Commerce templates style functionality
    based on PageFlow technology for new developments?

    You can use the <wl:cache> tag
    (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jsp/customtags.html#56944) in jsps to
    cache dynamically generated JSP content.
    In other, java-based code you can use the com.bea.p13n.cache.Caches,
    which supports TTLs and external-flushing. See the WLP javadoc.

    I'm looking to cache content in the portlet itself, something like:
    -The banner is cached indefinitely.
    -The headlines are cached for an hour.
    -The weather forecast is cached for six hours.
    -The weather map is cached for a day.
    -The highly-personalized section with the reader's name doesn't get cached at
    all.
    When a visitor requests a page, construct only those portlets that are not cached.
    Then, portal builds the complete page out of the newly constructed portlets and
    the cached portlets. On many complex sites, well over 90% of the page can be cached,
    leading to vastly superior performance over sites that have to reconstruct the
    entire page each time a visitor requests it.
    We are looking at a competing product that can do all this.

  • E-Commerce Portal

    Hi all,
    We need to implement an portal with e-commerce and i ask for all, what is the best architecture for this implementation?
    We are thinking in use the Enterprise Portal with webdynpro for Java. what about this?
    best regards,
    Douglas

    MY suggestion would be to use a Hardware Load Balancer to act as a reverse proxy to your Portal servers. This creates a more secure environment.
    You can also use the sap web dispatcher, however, my preference is a separate hardware load balancer. One major advantage to this is that when using SSL, you can have the SSL termination do on the LB, and removing that stress from the actual portal servers.
    Lookup the sap sizer tool if you are looking for memory and processor requirement for your portal servers.

    Tom

  • Removing Commerce Functionality from Basic Portal Config

    Is there any documentation as to how to go about removing the commerce, ad and campaign functionality from the Basic Portal Domain Configuration? Or is there an easy way to create a Portal Domain Configuration which does add this in in the first place?

    Yeah, thats easy enough. There are still a bunch of residual tables in the DB and stuff like that though. It seems that there ought to be some sort of documentation as to how to strip that stuff out.

    back at
    the section "Update Settings for the RDBMS Security Realm" in thedeployment
    guide
    (http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/deploygd/oraclnew.htm#1039294).
    In the table in step 2, they show the URL on top, and the Driverclassname

    box. Make
    sure you haven't accidentally done this; if you have, you can stillchange
    this in
    the config.xml file (do a text search for an element RDBMSRealm withan
    "name" attribute
    of "wlcsRealm").
    Verify that it looks like this:
    <RDBMSRealm DatabaseDriver="weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver"
    DatabaseURL="jdbc:weblogic:oracle"
    Name="wlcsRealm"
    and not this:
    <RDBMSRealm DatabaseDriver="jdbc:weblogic:oracle"
    DatabaseURL="weblogic.jdbc.oci.Driver"

    Very subtle gotcha...

    Hello Muffy,
    It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
    say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
    this message in your log:
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
    further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

  • When to use WEb Dynpro application and Portal application in NW dev studio

    I would like to know what is the difference between
    webdynpro application  and EP Application using PDK.
    Are they comaparable  ...Which one has an edge over the other specific to any applications.
    I want develop an application related to e-commerce using the SAP R3 as backend for an industiry(where in a registered user can place an order and query on the staus of order. All the data will be stored in R3 ).
    I am planning to dev this using NW dev studio , but have an appehension about which application is useful for this kind of application either webdynpro or EP application .
    can anybody explain which one has edge over the other ( Webdynpro or EP applcations in context with NW Dev studio) and why.
    thanks
    PK

    Hi,
    <b>Webdynpro</b> is used when requirements ask for a prototype using minimal time n effort.
    Highly skilled programmers are not necessary to write a webdynpro application
    It uses dynamic controls without reloading the page.
    <b>Portal components</b> esp Abstract portal component provides a lean method to write HTML command to web client
    Large interactive components requires more programming.
    <b>WebDynpro</b> is a highly declarative, tool-based programming model. It minimizes platform-dependent "plumbing" code for building UIs and maximizes declarative metadata describing huge portions of a typical application in a platform-independent way.
    Web Dynpro follows a "top-down" approach in order to consistently support multiple runtime platforms.
    In Web Dynpro you just have to drag & drop the UI components.
    <b>Portal components</b> has followed a "bottom-up", programming-driven approach to Web development.
    Regards,
    Pooja.

  • BEA WebLogic Commerce Server 3.5 with MS SQL Server 2000 as DB

    Ooops !
    Sorry but in my last mail I forgot to attach the file with the

    the message and the file.

    Hi to all.
    I have a problem using BEA WebLogic Server 3.5 (with service
    pack 1) with SQL Server 2000 as the database. I followed the
    instructions for SQL Server 7 included in the file readme.txt > in WLCS_35_DDLand the (thin) Web documentation on the
    subject. The I tried to run the example portal and the
    templates examples. All is working well apart from the fact
    that some data seem not to be taken from the database. For
    example the example portal lacks the news titles in the "News > Index" portletand the ads in the "AcmePromotion" portlet. In > the templates examples some logo
    are missing (the E-Business
    Control Center loads, but no campains or discounts, etc. are
    loaded). When I start the example portal, a lot of exceptions > arise. In theattached text file the stdout log of Commerce
    Server is reported.
    Can anyone tell me a hint to solve these problems ? There are > known problemssetting up SQL Server 2000 with Commerce Server > 3.5 ? I've seen that Commerce

  • Commerce Server won't shut down with command on NT

    I need to have the Commerce server shut down using a command line argument; i.e. set-environment.bat followed by %JDK_HOME%\bin\java -classpath %WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH% weblogic.Admin t3://localhost:7501 SHUTDOWN system mypass.
    The system user and password work for the default weblogic server and with the console but not for the commerce server.
    The error that occurs is "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.SecurityException: Authentication for
    user system denied in realm weblogic".
    The software is Weblogic Commerce Server 3.2 and Weblogic Server 5.1.0 SP6, and Java SDK 1.3 (JDK) running on Windows NT 4 SP6. The java.policy file grants all permissions and is unchanged. I did add a user in the portal demo but that is all.
    I opened a case on evalnet but haven't found a solution.
    The weblogic.properties file has an appropriate line
    weblogic.password.system=password (it has my real password)
    All of the weblogic.allow.execute.weblogic.servlet.??? properties are set to the default of system.
    How else is the realm authentification set up? Where can I look for problems with the user?

    Nevermind, I found the problem. The system password for my weblogic default server is meaningless for commerce server as it has its own weblogic.properties file with the system user password of "weblogic".

  • Wlcs 3.5 vs wlcs in portal suit 4.0

    Hi All,
    I need the following information urgently:
    1. What is the version of weblogic commerce server in portal suit ? Is the commerce
    server given with portal server is same as weblogic commerce server 3.5 sp2 ? If
    not, how is it different from wlcs 3.5 sp2 ?

    Sudarson,
    The commerce components in WLP 4.0 are pretty much the
    same as in WLCS 3.5 SP2 except for the following:
    1) Tax and payment services have been converted to Web Services.
    2) The commerce templates were updated to use the new Webflow
    and Pipeline architecture.
    3) WLP 4.0 introduced a new deployment model more inline with
    J2EE Enterprise App and Web Apps. As a result, some components
    were updated to work with application management tools and
    application-level scoping of resources.
    Hope this helps,
    Michel.

  • Use of external LDAP server in Weblogic Commerce Server

    I'm using the following software:
    Iplanet Directory Server v5
    Weblogic Application Server v6
    Weblogic Commerce v3.5
    I need to configure Weblogic Commerce Server to use Iplanet Directory Server directory
    services. How do I do that?
    I have a couple of questions related to this:
    1) As Weblogic Commerce Server runs on top of Weblogic v6, does it mean that to
    use an external LDAP server, I need to configure weblogic v6 to do that and not
    Weblogic Commerce Server?
    2) Whatever may be the case above, how do I do that?
    3) config.xml (weblogic application server v6) contains information that needs
    to be modified to point to an external JNDI source provider but what information
    do I need to modify?
    I'd really appreciate if someone can help me out here. Thanks!

    Hi,
    I'm looking for someone who has used the Lotus LDAP server for WLP7
    authentication.
    I connect my portal to the Domino LDAP, User and Groups are working
    fine, but the membership of a user to a group is not.
    I assume that it's related to the parameters I use (especially the
    membership.filter ?):
    "user.filter=(&(uid=%u)(objectclass=person));
    user.dn=O=Apac;
    membership.filter=(&(uniquemember=%M)(objectclass=groupOfNames));
    group.filter=(&(cn=%g)(objectclass=groupOfNames));
    server.host=jpgal01.apac.bea.com;
    group.dn="
    Any help would be appreciate, because I just don't where to look for.
    Try setting the com.netscape.ldap.trace property.
    \* When -D command line option is used, defining the property with
    * no value will send the trace output to the standard error. If the
    * value is defined, it is assumed to be the name of an output file.
    * If the file name is prefixed with a '+' character, the file is
    * opened in append mode.
    This will create a ldap trace file of the requests that WLS is making on the
    LDAP server. You can then see
    where the filters are not returning the correct value for the group
    membership.

  • CRM 5.0, e-Commerce 5.0, e-Selling (Internet Sales)

    Dear all,
    we are currently facing problems getting the e-Selling (Internet Sales) application to work. Unfortunately none of my colleagues and I have worked with these applications.
    We are using:
    - NetWeaver EP 7.0 Portal Level 12
    - SAP CRM 5.0 with BBPCRM 5 Level 10
    We have deployed:
    - Business Package for SAP CRM 5.0
    - Business Package for High Tech Channel Management 5.0
    Shouldn't the e-Selling (former Internet Sales) application already be there as default within the e-Commerce 5.0?
    And isn´t the e-Commerce 5.0 included in the SAP CRM 5.0 as default?
    Is there any special package that must be deployed to the SAP CRM 5.0 or EP 7.0 Portal? Except "SAP e-Commerce for SAP R/3" and the "Internet Sales" packages because they must be obsolete for our systems i guess.
    Lots of questions....
    Thank you very much for your help & Best regards

    Q   Shouldn't the e-Selling (former Internet Sales) application already be there as default  within the e-Commerce 5.0?
    Answer:  NO.  there is no e-Selling default application.
    Please do the following:
    1)You have to download the right application from the service.sap.com and then deploy the default application to the WAS ( you can maybe use the same Portal WAS).
    2)further you need to configure the ISA application( B2B or B2C) using the XCM
    3)setup a shop. install and configure TREX. Create a Product catalog and replicate it to TREX.
    4) Make design decision on UME/Single Sign-on etc etc
    5) ALL the above steps assumes that a Transaction type which you need to use in ISA scenario is already in place
    6) Further IPC relevant stuff needs to be done depending on what kind of prices you want to display.
    these are the most basic things which you NEED to do.
