Commercial applications?

Hello,
I've read the license agreement of the sdk but I am still not sure to understand well (english is not my native language).
I have a commercial application that display medical images on screen. Now, I would like also to display PDF documents as well. If I use the sdk to load and display the pdf documents inside my application, do I have to pay some royalties? Can I convert them as JPEG image for example? I don't know if it is possible with the sdk, but can I also load pdf templates (documents that can be edited partially) inside my application and save the modifications?
Kind regards,

You do not have to pay any $$ to Adobe for the USE OF the SDK.
However, remember that the SDK is simply for use with Adobe Acrobat or
Reader - so all of your users will need to have one of them installed
(depending on which APIs you choose to use).
Again, depending on whether users will have Acrobat or Reader will
determine what features you have

  • Commercial Application developed with Oracle APEX

Except the commercial application list on the official Oracle APEX web-site, anyone can give more information regarding commercial application developed using Oracle APEX?
One I can find: XPinventory (http://xp4each.wordpress.com).

I'm curious - is there a problem with the 15 commercial applications listed at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/apex_com_commercial_apps.html? What are you specifically looking for?

  • RI License for Commercial Applications

    HI!
Which license does RI uses? I can't find consistent information anywhere. At the end of the day, can I use Sun RI for production commercial software for free? Even If I use it outside Java Studio Creator? What do I need to do?

License wise, you can deploy the application to any application server you want. Only the ones listed at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/features/sysreqs/depservers.html are officially supported, however some others do work.
As for using a copy of the application server for deployment without Creator, this is actually the preferred method. Creator will start and stop your app server at times, which would not be good for a production environment. You should download the stand alone (and free) version of Sun Java System Application Server 8.2 Platform Edition at http://www.sun.com/software/products/appsrvr/previous/pe8/index.xml. And yes, you can use it for commercial applications.

  • How are commercial applications done?

    Hallo,
I have been looking trough " The definitive guide to Netbeans Platform" from Apress, and there are explained the benefits of using modules and how netbeans helps you with all that. After a first glance, It looks very fancy but it seems it's all built on NetBeans framework(those 7 modules they use).
    1) Is this module approch used in creating commercial applications?
    2) Can you use modules without Netbeans and all that time it takes to initialize only the base modules, or is it a Netbeans creation?
    3) Who uses modules, and the approach with the Netbeans modules in particular? - some examples ( I prefer real software applications examples)
    Many thanks,
    Ryan

  • Commercial applications seems impossible with Stratus

"Unlike Flash Media Server, Stratus does not support media relay, shared objects, scripting, etc So by using Stratus, you can only develop applications where Flash Player endpoints are directly communicating with each other."
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/stratus/
Unfortunately, that means there is no way to create commercial applications with Stratus, as the connection between the endpoints is directly.
Online license checks (in case of a commercial application) by the server seems not possible then, also data handling (except multimedia) is not possible via a server.
Isn't there a way for Adobe to fix this issue???

  • Use of AFCS in commercial applications

I have developed a flex application that a client has already
commercially purchased from me, before the public beta release of
    cocomo, now AFCS.
Am I legally permitted to use AFCS features in the latest
update of this application for the client to trial if I am not
charging them any extra for the addition of these features until
    AFCS is commercially released?
    cheers

    Hi,
The way I could imagine a solution based on JMS would be to use one Queue per user. A message is sent to Q1 (user1) and is then processed by your user1 client application. This client application has somehow the knowledge of the organizational hierarchy and could decide after having processed the message to which user to send it (i.e. to which queue). Note that this is an ideal use-case scenario for MDBs especially if your client applications still need to perform database accesses.
    Hope it helps

  • Using Adobe Reader indirect in a commercial application?

    Hello!
    I'm developing a commercial software.
Inside my application i use a webbrowser control to show html files, images a.s.o.
If the user has installed Adobe Reader, he can also view PDF files in the browser control.
Now my question: Are there any restrictions for using the Adobe Reader?
Did I need a license for allowing to show those PDF files?
    best regards,
    Hans

Section 3 doesn't talk about distribution. It mentions that you can't integrate it in to other software unless you have applied for and received the Adobe Reader Integration Key.
To do that, you can go to the following link: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/reader/ikla.html
And don't worry about your English. Even if it was your first language, it's pretty tough to understand. Go to the link above and you'll find a ton of information in regular English rather than a bunch of legal speak. If in doubt, you'll be able to find contact information there as well.

  • XML parser for commercial application.

J2ME doesn't have a built in XML parser, which is actually pretty surprising. I know several J2ME compatible parsers exist like kXML and Xparse, but they are both licensed under the GNU Public License. In using these, doesn't that mean the entire project has to be "open source" to honor the license? This doesn't seem to be a good idea for a commercial product, so can anyone recommend any other way to parse XML?
    Thanks

How can we parse a XML file without giving the tagname(Element name for checking)?........

  • Java for commercial applications

I'm looking into distributing a Java application but I'm uncertain on a few things.
    1) Is it possible, or indeed legal, to distribute the JRE with my application.
    2) Does the JRE automatically recognise .jar files as files which should be executed, my lovely version of windows liked to specify it as a winrar application and hence show it in some sort of explorer window if I remember correctly, obviously I manually changed that, but I can't expect my users to.
Please offer some advice on this matter

  • Access Commercial Application Software Globally

    Hello
I have a customised application software relating to financial accounting. It is working fine using oracle10g db and oracle application server 10g inside the office.
Now my qs is If I want to access this application from house also for checking purpose, what should I do? What additional configuration is required on oracle servers.
We have internet on 10g db and 10g application server.
We don't have any Public IP right now.
Please suggest me how to access this application globally.
    Regards,

    Masood,
You would either need to publish a Public IP address or connect to the network via Virtual Private Network (VPN) and then connect to your application.
    Hope this helps,

  • Customizing OHJ for use in commercial application

My company is considering switching to OHJ from JavaHelp. I have converted our software to use OHJ for context sensitive help, but I have encountered some show-stopping problems - things we could do with JavaHelp we can't do with OHJ. It seems that OHJ does not expose as much as JavaHelp does when it comes to customizing the appearance of the GUI. Specifically -
    1) We need to change the content of the menu bar to remove the "About" menu choice.
    2) Also we need to control the title of the help screen(s). It seems this is possible for the Help Topic dialog via the .hs configuration (we'd prefer an API), but not for the Navigator dialog. Further, once the Help Topic is docked with the Navigator, custom titleing goes away and does not re-appear even after the two dialogs are undocked.
    3) We need to be able to control the size and position of both dialogs when initially displayed, docked and undocked. There is a mechanism provided for the Help Topic dlg but not for the Navigator to do this, and again this only works when the two are displayed undocked. Of course we need to control the appearance in the initially docked position also, but the Navigator seems to provide no facility for this at all.
    4) Similarly for colors, there seems to be only support for the Help Topic dlg to modify the colors and only via the .hs xml, not dynamically via an API.
Oracle has provided a nice help platform for the industry, but it seems the API does not expose enough customization control. Can you suggest any work arounds for us? We'd really like to use this product, but must be able to control the appearance. Thanks for any advice!

    Hi Larph,
I use Proshow Producer with LR as well. Photodex have produced a free Lightroom Plug-in for Proshow that greatly simplifies the interface. Within LR, you can select various options for your slideshow, and LR will automatically export your selected photographs to Proshow, creating a new slideshow with your selected options. This works great for me.
    The plug-in can be downloaded here;
    http://www.photodex.com/products/lrplugin
Once installed, it creates a new set of presets in your LR Export Presets.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,

    Hi,
If you want to develop a SharePoint Client Tool for business, I suggest you use your own icons and images.
