Common communication channel

Hi ,
We have a scenerio which will be rollout to different countries.
In most of the cases common communication channel can used We are using different Bussiness System for all countries, now creating channel all roulout under different BS will incerese unnecessary objects.
Is there any way we can define common channel , which can be used in different BS.If  anyone aware of  any kind  approach , please share.
Regards,
Vikrant

If there are multiple scenarios connecting to the same Business System (or Service), then it is recommended to use a common channel....however since you have different Business System you will have to define CC for those Systems as the data mentioned in the channels will be different.
Suppose you are sending IDOCs to the SAP systems, then the end-system details will be different for the systems involved and hence you have to maintain different channels.

Abhishek.

• Using common SOAP Sender Communication Channel.

Hi,
Env: PI 7.1
Scenario: Same SOAP Sender communication channel is used in more than one scenario.
Properties "Use Encoded Headers" and "Use Query Strings" are checked.
Problem: SOAP channel is getting binded with the first interface/call. Subsequent calls from other interface proxies fails. It always shows the interface which used this channel for the first time.
My aim is to use the common channel in multiple scenarios and do not want to create separate channel for each.
This was working fine in PI 7.0.
Please help.

A workaround would be creating multiple sender agreements using the same channel. For this while creating the sender agreement, use the option "Sender uses virtual receiver". This was u may use same set of sender service and sender interface with same channel.

• ORA-03113 : end-of-file on communication channel while running a SQL Query

Hi,
While executing the following query, we are facing ORA-03113 : EOF on communication channel error.
SELECT
FROM QDF_CLSS_SHENG_HIST
/*WHERE* a.FACT_TYPE_CODE='BS'
AND */
WHERE (SRCE_SYS_ID = 850 OR (SRCE_SYS_ID IN (1747,1764) AND GEO_ID IN (826,372) AND PRTTN_BY_FUNC_DATE>=to_date('20060701','YYYYMMDD') ))
When we remove one of the values in the SRCE_SYS_ID's 'IN' condition the error is not thrown, e.g.
WHERE (SRCE_SYS_ID = 850 OR (SRCE_SYS_ID IN (1747) AND GEO_ID IN (826,372) AND PRTTN_BY_FUNC_DATE>=to_date('20060701','YYYYMMDD') ))
The version of the Database we are using is 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bi. Is this a common error in this version of the database because when we ran the same query in a 9i database we got no such error.
P.S : QDF_CLSS_SHENG_HIST table is partitioned on SRCE_SYS_ID and PRTTN_BY_FUNC_DATE

Yes, we get the same error and no dumps are getting created. It might be interesting to look at a trace file for this SQL statement with event 10046 at level 12 and event 10053 at level 1 enabled for the session. You may need to modify the query slightly to make certain that a hard parse is required (possibly by specifying a couple of the column names to be returned rather than *). Take a look through the raw trace file for something like this

• Alert if no file process :Same file adapter with same communication Channel

Hi XI Guru,
I have encountered 1 requirement from my client where, sender will send different data file with different file name. And there want XI to alert the user if no file to process for the schedule date. Please take note that the communication channel is common to all the sender.
Example:
      Communication Channel : CC_FILE_SND
FILE_10.TXT   ---> Every month on the 10, user have to send FILE_10.TXT to process
FILE_20.TXT   ---> Every month on the 20, user have to send FILE_20.TXT to process
If user fail or forget to send the FILE_10.TXT and FILE_20.TXT on special schedule date to process, XI should alert user.
Many thanks

Hi Lord
<<< there want XI to alert the user if no file to process for the schedule date.
Can you tell me how you are planning to configure this schedule date in your sender file adapter. I mean this date will be fixed or it is going to be change according to the requirement.
Now for the second part in order to alert the user if file is not there, one solution is to use BPM with wait step ( specify the time in this step ), but then again it takes me back to my previous question, the time seems to be different everytime according to the requirement.

• desc table_name gets ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

My installation running on Windows 2000 Oracle9i. When issue desc table_name i get ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel. I have set processes = 300 in parameter file.

The ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel error is a generic error. The ORA-03113 error when connecting suggests that the connection was established, but lost later, like a timeout.
There are many possible causes for the ORA-03113 error. See MetaLink Note:17613.1 "ORA-03113":
For example, ORA-3113 could be signaled for any of these scenarios:
- Server machine crashed
- Your server process was killed at O/S level
- Network problems
- Oracle internal errors / aborts on the server
- Client incorrectly handling multiple connections
- etc.. etc.. etc.. - a lot of possible causes !!
It goes on to note that the ORA-03113 End-Of-File error often has additional messages:
It is common for this error to be accompanied by other errors such as:
- ORA-1041 internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist
- ORA-3114 not connected to ORACLE
- ORA-1012 not logged on
To find more details, check for a trace file in your USER_DUMP_DEST and BACKGROUND_DMP_DEST directory.
Hope this helps . . .

• 2 JMS Sender Communication Channels polling 1 MQ Queue

Hi Experts,
I have a situation where 2 JMS sender communication channels are polling 2 different message type data (via content conversion in JMS) from 1 MQ queue.  However adapters are having problem polling the right message from the queue.
Is this something that is not possible?
I know that we can possibly use 2 MQ queues - one for JMS 1 with message type 1 and the other for JMS 2 with message type 2
OR
1 JMS with 1 common message type with 1 MQ queue.
But I want to confirm whether my current situation is suppose to work or not.
Thanks,

Maintain different queues for different message types.
The adapters else will just pick the message that comes to the queue first based on the polling time irrespective of the message type. It is not intelligent enough

• XI - Communication Channel Monitor

Hi,
I have this 'interesting' situation where although I can view my Sender Comm. Channels with the Communication Channel Monitor, I'm unable to view my Receiver Communication Channels - no matter the Adapter Type. As a result, when I test my scenario I get an HTTP_RESP_CODE_NOT_OK 404 error message.
Has anyone come across this situation before, and how did you resolve it? I have tried deleting and then re-creating the Receiver Comm. Channel, but still can't see it.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Reuben.

HI,
if 404 error then see below
5) Error: 404 Not Found
Description: The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
Possible Tips:- for HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK 404
• 404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question couldn't be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL, so it is better to cross check all URLs. Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server For this go to SLD->Business System-><yourIntegrtaion Server>->Pipeline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port. To verify this in Integration Server you can do like this. Go to SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Choose Edit from Menu -> Change Global Configuration Data to switch to change mode. Then select System Landscape - Load Configuration. (This is not required always)
• Check that the port really is the ICM HTTP Port and not the J2EE port i.e SMICM then menu GOTO --> SERVICES and check the port number for HTTP. It should be HTTP port
• If the error is Page cannot be displayed, cannot find server in https configurations Check and correct the SSL configuration for the ABAP and the J2EE side of the system
• If the error is because of integration server when using Proxy communications then check these. i.e SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Corresponding Integration Server enrty should be dest://<Http Integration server-Destination> Where < Http Integration server -Destination > is the RFC destination (SM59) of type HTTP connection (type H) to the Integration Server. In this case, host name, port, and path prefix are saved in the RFC destination.

hello Seniors,
i have strange situation, facing it for the first time.

displayed on screen. when i pressed save button i got error;
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
leaving the form as is with this error displayed, i notice that i can very well use the db at server level
by running other sqls, meaning other resources are functioning. even i tried to open the same application again
leaving the erroneous form as is, and tried to enter in another form , it communicated well and saved without any errors.
also there is one more errro along with this, when i query; says "Unable to perform query"
ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist
and when exit the current form it quits the entire application and kills that particular session,
but the db is still up and running with no errors.
The Tnsping <hostname> is responding.
i want to know while entring on a form, is there any time-out limit between the entry and saving point?
or any other solution please help. vm thankful.

• 5 Sender communication channels and 1 receiver channel

My scenario demands to handle 5 different select queries from single data base.
I need to have 5 sender communication channels for editing an employee and only 1 receiver channel at receiver side and i'm using one common Functional module to handle.
Can i handle the above situation in one single interface??? like having 5 sender communication channel at sender side and 1 receiver communication channel at receiver side??
Thanks
LN

like having 5 sender communication channel at sender side and 1 receiver communication channel at receiver side??
Yes it is possible....if it is not possible for you to combine the query into one.
How is the data to be processed? Is the data pulled by the 5 sender channels, to be merged into one target message? Is yes then you have to make use of a BPM.
If the Data from 5 sender channels will be individually forwarded  to the receiver channel then there is no need of a BPM.

        from item_master_base;
end; When i run the following code i am receiving the following error.
ora-03113 end-of-file on communication channel what might be it is?
kanish

ora-3113 can be anything.
Also always including a four-digit version number is of primary importance.
Most releases do not allow to collect into a collection of record, and only allow to bulk collect to one collection per column.
This might be the reason why you are hitting ora-3113.
Another reason might be you simply have too many records to collect, and your session runs out of memory. Running out of memory is a very common cause for hitting ora-3113.
Usually when I have ora-3113 I would go to My Oracle Support right away.

• Using a variable in communication channel

Hi,
I have a lot of Communication Channels looking for files in the same directory. This directory's path will be changed soon and so I assume I'll have to change all my Communication Channels.
I was wondering whether there was a means of using a variable for the Source Directory in order to just have to change its value where it is defined and not every where it is used...
Regards

Hi,
Is this a sender file adapter? or a receiver file adapter?
You can make a change / make the receiver file adapter's directory dynamic by setting the value during runtime in the mapping.
Use  this blog and the code in the blog to acheive this,

By default, the SOAP adapter sends the SOAP message with the content type text/xml.
When you check "Do not use SOAP envelope", the default contnet type is application/xml.
You can change the content type like this: Go to the SOAP receiver communication channel module tab. Add the module "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" before the standard module. Add the parameter name Transform.ContentType and value text/xml.
