Common dist channel and common division

Hai guys,
can any one send me configuration setting and screen shots on common division and common distribution channel in ECC 6 version.
my email id is [email protected]
regards,
Shruthi

Hi Shruthi,
In SPRO -> Sales & Distribution -> Master Data -> Define Common Distribution Channel, you would be able to define a distribution channel as a reference (common).
Similarly in SPRO -> Sales & Distribution -> Master Data -> Define Common Division, you would be able to define a division as a reference (common).
I dont think you should have too much of a problem with the configuration.

  • Reference sales organisation, ref.distribution channel and ref. division

    Hi Gurus,
What is the use of reference sales organisation, ref.distribution channel and reference division.
Pls dont copy and paste sap help.
    --James

    Hi,
Sales Organization    An organizational unit responsible for the sale of certain products or
services. The responsibility of a sales organization may include legal
liability for products and customer claims.
    Use
You can assign any number of distribution channels and divisions to a
sales organization. A particular combination of sales organization,
distribution channel, and division is known as a sales area.
Reference distribution channel for conditions    Specifies a distribution channel that you want to use as a reference for
condition data for other distribution channels.
    Procedure
You can specify one distribution channel as the source of condition data
for other distribution channels. You need then only to maintain the data
        in one place.
    Example
        Distrib.channel                Ref.distrib.channel
        01                             01
        02                             01
        03                             01
        04                             04
In this example, only distribution channels 01 and 04 have condtion data
defined. Distribution channels 01, 02, and 03 share the master data that
you defined for distribution channel 01. Distribution channel 04 has its
own master data. When you create a sales order in distribution channel
03, the system checks the condition data against the data defined for
    distribution channel 01.
Reference division for customers    Specifies a division where you can define customer master records and
        share them with other divisions.
    Use
Customer-divisions are a way of sharing master data between different
divisions. You can specify one division as the source of master data for
other divisions. You need then only to maintain the customer master data
in one place. You can specify customer-divisions in Table TVKOS.
    Example
                  Division       Customer-division
                     01                  01
                     02                  01
                     03                  01
                     04                  04
In this example, only divisions 01 and 04 have customer master data
defined. Divisions 01, 02, and 03 share the customer master data defined
for division 01. Division 04 has its own customer master data. If you
create a sales order in division 03, the system checks the customer
master data from division 01. You cannot create customer master data for
divisions 02 and 03, since it would never be used.

  • Configure common dist channel and division

    hi
how to configure common distribution channel and division
    regards
    hema

    Define Common Distribution Channels
    T.Code: VOR1
The master data shared by several distribution channels applies to conditions and customer and material master data.
This helps you minimize the cost of creating and maintaining the master data.
You can also update statistics for each distribution channel and division without creating the master data for the different sub-areas of the organization.
    Define Common Divisions
    T.code: VOR2
The common master data across various divisions refer to the conditions and the customer master data.
You thus minimize the effort of entering and managing master data.
In addition, you can extrapolate your own statistics per division without having to create master data in the different organizational subareas

  • Use of common distribution channel and division in CRM

    Hi,
I have a requirement where the customer master will be created in a single dist channel and division combination in ECC and downloaded to CRM. However this customer will be used in different sales area combinations in CRM and ECC.
In ECC there is as standard setting wherein we can refer a sales area to other sales area.
Do we have any such functionality in CRM?
I went through posts and even tried to run Transaction CRMD_DOWNLOAD_SB and CRMD_DOWNLOAD_OM but the tables were not populated in CRM.
For information we are creating the org structure in CRM itself and not generating it from ECC.
    Regards,
    PP

    dear PP,
first, you can have a look the relevant master data division and distr. channels settings in config
here are the paths for CRM 7.0  system config (might be a bit different for previous versions):
    spro->customer relationship management->master data->organisational management->division settings
    spro->customer relationship management->master data->organisational management->organisational data for sales scenario
and second, the Assignment of Organisational Units from SAP ECC (same CRM spro config):
spro->customer relationship management->master data->organisational management->Assignment of Organisational Units from SAP ECC
please do not forget to check out the Data transfer (just one node lower) : Copy SAP ECC Sales Structure
    t-code CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE
    good luck!

  • Division and item division

    hai
Is there any difference between DIVISION and ITEM DIVISION
If so what is the difference
    Regards
    Raja

    Hi,
    For example- S.org ABCD,Dist channel-01 and Division- 01,02 etc..
Plant -1000 and customer no is 10000.
Customer sales area is ABCD0101 and Material is created for both division-01 & 02.
When you create sales order, you have sales are(S.orgDist channelDiv) of the customer. In this case Business area is determined based on following rules.
1)Business Area determination on Plant and Item division(01 or 02)-
Delivering plant(1000) from Sales order and Division of Item.
    2) Business are determination from Sales area(S.org+dist.channel +Div) of customer.
    for example- S.org- ABCD,Dist channel- 01 and Division -01.
In this case Division of the material entered is also 01.
    3) Business area determination from sales organization,
      distribution channel and item division
In this case S.org-ABCD,Dist channel-01 and item Division -02.,
In last case Customer division is different than Material(Item) division -02.This is quite useful when client sells multi-division products and to all customers.

  • Common distribution channel and common division

    Hi experts,
Wt is the use of common distribution channel and common division in sale prcocess?
let me know wt are the configuration i have to do for common dist chanl and common division activation.
    Regards
    Ishikesh

    Hi
SAP has the concept of common distribution channel for sharing master data( for customer/material and conditions) across multiple distribution channels under a sales orgsnization
That means say if you have the sales org say 1000 and three distribution channels under them say 10,20 and 30
Now you create a common distribution channel say 40 and assign them in VOR1 like this
sales org--DC-common distribution channel for customer/material ---common DC for conditions
    1000--1040--
    40
    1000--2040--
    40
    1000--3040--
    40
Now you can or need to  create master data for customer/material and conditions only  for DC 40
There is no need to create separate master records for 10 and 20 and 30  distribution channel's
That one master record created for DC 40 will solve the purpose for  10 and 20 and 30  distribution channel's
*When you create a sales order for the distribution channel say 10 system will check whether that customer is created for DC 40  and material is created for DC 40 and condition record is valid in DC 40*
Similarly for  distribution channels 20 and 30 also system will check whether that customer is created for DC 40 and material is created for DC 40 and condition record is valid in DC 40
That means whenever you say DC as 10/20/30 in sales order system will take that as  DC  40 and whatever is valid for  DC 40 will be applicable for 10/20/30
Instead of three master records one record in the name of DC 40 is sufficient
Similarly for common division but with a difference
The common divisions is for customer and conditions only not for materials
You can see this in VOR2 go to VOR2 t code and observe the difference of that with VOR1
This is a key assignment in SAP and without this being defined you cannot create CMR, or MMR or condition record and one in t codes VOR1  common distribution channel and  VOR2 common division
This is a fundamental basic concept any SD consultant should be very clear in his mind

  • Common distribution channel and division

    Hi
Following is the scenario in our Process.
    We have Sales Org 1000 % Distribution Channel 10 , 20 & 30
In Define Common distribution Channel screen have maintained following Config
    Sorg Dchannel       DchConds       DchCust/Mat
    1000 10                  10                    10
    1000 20                  10                    10
    1000 30                   10                   10
so we have maintained Ref Distribution Channel as 10 for 20 & 30
Now we wish to extend the customer to 1000/20 to main some specific data in certain fields related to that distribution channel. but is giving an error no Sales Area 1000/20/Division could be determined.
We would like to use common ref distribution channel and also if required if specific data is required to be maintined in it should be extended to other disctibution channel.
this will ensure that at the time of preparation of sales documents like sales orders it should check if the customer is extended to that distribution channel if yes it will refer data from that disctribution channel else will refer data from common distribution channel.
    Is it possible.

  • Common Distribution Channels and Common Division

    Hi experts,
We are encoutering an error and i think its because of common distribution channels and common divisions.
1:IN Development client we can see the common distribution channels and common divisions setup. But no one says he/she has set them up. Is it possible that the enterprise structure settings filter to this?? May be weird doubt but i wanna make sure.
2: If they are setup in Development , there should be a transport request and am unable to see any??
3: If we need the same settings in Test, We will have to set them up in Test client or we can move the transports from DEV to TEST for these settings??
4:And also if these are not setup , do we get an error while creating customers and materials for sales areas?
    Please Advice.
    Thanks & Regards

Configuration of common distribution channels and common divisions is a required setting, else it will give an error for Customer & Material Master. This setting has to be done in Development Server & transported to Test & Production Server. If you do not find Transport request, then try to do change in configuration & redo the correct configuration & save the Transport Request.
Hope the above is helpful to you.

<b>How to configure Common Distribution Channel and Divisions and what is the advantage of the same?</b>

    dear sunil
    distribution channel
If you do not need the master data (customer / material and condition master data) to
be differentiated according to distribution channels, you have to set up a representative
distribution channel. The master data for the representative distribution channel
applies to all distribution channels for which you have set up this reference in
    Customizing.
By doing this, you can minimize the effort of entering and maintaining master data.
In addition, you can update statistics for distribution channels without having to create
master data for the various distribution channels.

  • Common Distri channels and Divisions

    Dear SD Gurus:
I want to have clarifications pertaining to the maintainance of Common Distri channels and common Divisions: T Code VOR1 and VOR2
    The scenario is following:
I have one Sales Organization: ZABC
Distribution Channels : KR, KV, KN, KD
    Divisions: TM, TN, TZ
If  I have  VOR1 as follows:
         ZABC     KR   KR
         ZABC        KV    KR
         ZABC     KN   KR
         ZABC     KD    KR
    AND VOR 2 as follows:
    ZABC  TM   TM
    ZABC      TN    TM
    ZABC   TZ    TM
1..Would it suffice to share the common master data of Customer Master and Material Master.?
2..Material 1400 created with ZABC and KR channel. Would this be available for all other channels such as KV, KN, KD?
    3. OR in addition I will have to do settings in OVAO, OVAM and OVAN? If yes what would be those settings?
    4. Also under “ Assign permitted document types to Sales Areas” would it be okay to assign all the doc types to ZABC,KR,TM.? If I try to assign for other divisions it gives error saying that define that sales area as General sales area!!!
I am fully confused. <b>Kindly guide me and take me out of this confusion</b>.

    Hi Adiraj,
    1)-
To share the master data that config settings which u have mentioned is enuf.
but to share the sales area data by all doc types u need to configure
as  combine sales org/combine DC & combine Div.-OVAZ
Ref Sales area would be : ZABC-KR-TM
2)- Yes, that material is available for all other DC's
    3)- In
    OVAO:
    ZABC-ZABC
    OVAM:
    ZABC-KR-KR
    ZABC-KV-KR
    ZBAC-KN-KR
    OVAN
    ZABC TM TM
    ZABC TN TM
    ZABC TZ TM
Now assign ur sales area (ZABC-KR-TM) to respective sales doc types.
    4) Yes itz ok ,the same doc will be allowed for all other sales areas

  • Common division & distribution channel

    Hello all,
Kindly provide a solution to my query .  Incase of same division & sales organisation but different distribution channel we can maintain common distribution channel so that no separate customer master data needs to be maintained for different distribution channels if customer details are same.
But incase where either division or distribution channel & division is/are different we can maintain common distribution channel & division so as to use the same customer for different sales area. But here do we need to maintain separate material master record for each division along with customer -material info record as well as condition record (customer/material)...???
As in here although common division is maintained but the materials ( Pharma & Paint ) are different along with their industry sectors....so how can the same material master be maintained for both the divisions..?
      Sales org : LSE
Dist chl : LR & LS
      Div : PH & P1
Please provide any input .                                                                                Thanks.

    Hi
    As of my understanding,
    Sales org : LSE
Dist chl : LR & LS - Choose either of LR / LS as a common distribution channel.   SAY LR is a common division
Div : PH & P1 in this case SAY PH is a common division.
    Now
    1. Your commond distribution channel and Division will be used only in case of creating of Customer Master. So your Customer master will be created in the following sales area.
    Sales org :   LSE
    Dist chl :       LR
    Div :              PH
    2. To create Material Master Data we need only Sales org and Distribution channel. Division is not Required.
    Sales org :   LSE
    Dist chl :       LR
For the reporting or LIS / SIS purpose you can keep seperate divisions for the Every Material.
Say Material A with Division PH
    Material B with Division P1.
Try Maintaing the data like this it will work for you.
Now here make sure when you create sales order , before that go to VOV8 and remove the entry for CHECK DIVISION (keep it blank) other wise system will give the error, Header division and item division will mismatch.
Finally for Condition again you  can keep the respectively seperate division for each kind of material
    Thanks
    Rishi

  • Common division and Sales Office

Do common division and common distribution channel have effect on the setup of sales office and sales group?
When I need to setup the sales office to be connected to the sales area, will I need to just connected it to the sales area which has the common division or I need to setup the sales office to ALL of the sales area?

    Hi,
Common distribution channel and division is for creating master data like customer master or material master, so even if you have more channel and division you need not to extend customer or material many times.
Now sales office you have to assign sales office to all sales area because when you creating sales documents you are maintaining sales area that is not common rather it is conditional (Distribution and divisions are different not common).
