  • 6500a e710 a-f - Scanner Communication Error Windows 8.1

We have been experiencing issues with scanning whilst connected via USB, using the HP Scan software. The software returns an error message saying scanner communication cannot be established, half way through scanning. Then HPScan.exe fails to load again. The printer just says “scanning cancelled” on its display.
This is only effecting one model of PC and that is a HP 8300 Ultra-Slim PC.
We are running Windows 8.1 64 bit from an image install. However, I have tested this with a fresh Windows 8.1 retail installation and get the same problem.
We have tried various actions to fix this:
     - Various accounts, admin accounts, domain admin accounts, local accounts etc.
     - Uninstall and reinstall. Basic and Full driver packages including the latest versions
     - Removed all other HP software from PC including registry keys
    - Used built in Windows 8 scan software with basic driver
     - All USB ports tested including 2.0, 3.0 and powered / non-powered
     - Replaced cables
     - Re-isntalled USB bus drivers for 8300
     - Followed the print/scan doctor which shows a driver error - scandriver unable to communicate with product
     - Run HPScan in compatibility mode for 7/XP
     - Updated firmware on printer
     - Installed latest Windows Updates
     - Checked WIA service and dependencies are running
     - Semi and Full factory resets on Printer
     - Shell hardware detection service set to manual
     - We have replaced the printer for an affected user - same issue
     - Also replaced PC for an affected user - same issue.
     - Updated PC BIOS
I have tested connecting the printer to the router with a network cable and then installing printer as a networked device rather than USB and then the hpscan.exe works. So this is only an issue with USB (though it wouldnt be practical to try and talk 200+ users through networking their printer).
As you can see, we have tried almost everything. Interestingly we havent been able to replicate this issue in one of our main offices - despite collecting the same PC and Printer from an estate and bringing it back to an office.
We have also sent out a working PC and Printer combo to an affected estate office and it has not worked there.
Our Estate Offices connected via an ADSL Router and "My Documents" are re-directed to a network location. Could a failure in accessing this network location cause the problems? I have tested connectivity to network store from PC and it accesses the files fine.
Any solutions would be greatly received, I have spoken to HP After Sales support but not received an working solution yet.

    Greetings, @Scammell29
I have read through your post and have very ideas left for you, as you've tried quite the load of troubleshooting!
I am thinking the issue could be power related, so try a power reset and plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet. Avoid power bars, surge protectors, etc. Just a direct plug in to the wall to test the power. Afterwards, see if you still receive the communication error.
If the issue continues, next try a disk cleanup, the instructions are included in this guide: A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays during Scanning for HP Officejet 650...
If the error still persists, perform a Clean Boot and restart the PC and then disable the Firewall and Anti-Virus scanners.
Please let me know the results!
    Good luck

  • 4.6 sync configuration error code 0x3b21

Hi.  I've finally got desktop manager 4.6 running and my blackberry 8330 backed up.  When I try to configure syncronization for Outlook 2000, the error "Warning encountered--warning code 0x3b21 check documentation" comes up.  I'm having trouble tracking down the code/problem.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
From what I can see in the documentation for 4.6 it does not support Outlook 2000.
    I suggest 3.6. Outlook 2000 was discontinued in 4.0
    Download 3.6 from here:

  • Serial Communication Error -1073807253

    Hello!
I'm trying to make a simple serial port reader VI and i can't get over this:
Error -1073807253 occurred at VISA Read in communication.vi
    Possible reason(s):
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF006B) A framing error occurred during transfer.
I'm pretty shure that the device sending a data works properly and the parameteres like a boud rate, parity etc. are set correctly because I've already communicate with that device via Matlab.
Although I've noticed that somebody here have the problem with this error, but I can't find any solution for me.
There is a picture of my simple VI diagram in Attachments. The parameters of the communication are set at the beginnig, after that and a litle delay the input buffer is flushed, then the loop starts. When the buffer contain nine or more bytes this bytes are readen.
Please, can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks

So what happens if by the time the loops comes back around, you have 10 bytes waiting for you at the port?

  • Problem with TCP/IP communication: error ni-448 when I want to write on a TCP/IP-connection

    Hi folks
I have a really annoying problem: I want a computer (Win XP, Ethernet board, Labview 7.1) to communicate with my robot controller (Win 2k, Epson SPEL+ language). The robot controller is the client, the LabViewPC the server. now reading messages sent by the robot controller are no problem to read. But when I want to send messages from the LabViewPC to the robot controller I get an error message: error ni-448, make sure that the GBIP-controller is the primary controller.
For the communication I open a TCP-listener and a TCP wait listener in a while loop. So far this works. Then I use the TCP-write function to send a string to the robot controller. Here the error described above occurs. So the communication doesn´t work.
    Can anybody help me?
    Please. Thank you in advance!

    hi there,
are there several network adapters on your host? if so pass the IP of the network adapter to the "TCP listen.vi". i'm not sure but i think i remember that in former versions this had no effect. then you could use "TCP Listen.vi" on your slave and "TCP Open Connection" function on your host.
you can use the "Simple Data Server" and "Simple Data Client" examples for a quick test.
    Best regards

    Hi, Dennis Knutson
    very glad to see you.
For my vi, i only provide a UI for user to select GPIB or serial mode, and setting related port.
About "Also, the 34970 llb you are using should be replaced with the 8.x project library.", What do you
mean? There is a new driver for 34970,right?
I search the forum and find a old thread:Agilent 34970 Visa Timeout.
    There is your answer:
I made a mistake. The initialize function already had a timeout function. I just didn't look at the VI closely enough. There is a case statement that sets either the serial port parameters or just sets the VISA timeout. If you are setting the timout right after the VISA Open, it's just getting set back to 10 seconds. Change it in the case statement and see if that works. Sorry, and I hope this works.
Do you think this is the same with my problem? Your mean to modify default 10 seconds to more longer timeout, right?
    Thanks.

  • HP Photosmart C4380 [8A36CB] communication error with MacBook OS 10.7.5 over wireless

    Hi,
I keep getting the message 'communication error' when trying to print wireless to a Photosmart C4380 from my MacBook (OS 10.7.5) through a TimeCapsule 2Gb router.
The message also says: "/usr/libexec/cups/backend/dnssd failed" but I don't know what to do with it...
I tried to de- and re-install, restart laptop, printer and router and pull all plugs in different sequences, first use the USB cable to install wireless and all other help from HP ... but nothing seems to work (HP Doctor is not available for Mac).
    The strange part is that:
1.it started a couple of weeks ago, without having changed anything (by my knowledge),
    2. printing from my iMac works fine (same wireless network, same software version, same settings, etcetera)!!!
    2. printing over USB from my MacBook works fine
    3. I can print a test-page from "HP Utility" form my MacBook (and of course from my iMac but that one works fine anyway)
    4. I can access the printer through "http://hp8a36cb.local./index.htm?cat=info&page=printerInfo" and there are no issues mentioned whatsoever,
    5. the 'HP Network Configuration Page' and the 'Wireless Network Test Report' congratulate me on the successful setup of my wireless printer... but it doesn't work.
I've read almost all posts about communication errors over wireless but haven't found an answer to my issue (yet).
Is there anyone with a solution? Please??

  • Spartan 3E with Labview 2012 (32 bit) on WIndows 7 64-bit - Error Code: -310602 NI-COBS: Unable to communicate with device over communication cable.

Thanks for the info, Kyle.  I will probably try to find an older 32-bit XP machine.  VM is just not an option for me right now.

    Hello everybody,
I am trying to use the DIgilent Spartan 3E board with Labvew 2012 SP1 32 bit.  I am able to compile the example code for LED shift.  I am however unable to transfer code to the FPGA.  I get the following error message:
    Error Code: -310602
NI-COBS:  Unable to communicate with device over communication cable.
Please verify that the cable is connected to a supported device and that the appropriate drivers are installed.
My system configuration is as follows:
Windows 7 (64 bit) on Dell XPS laptop.
    Labview 2012 SP1 (32 bit)
    Labview FPGA 2012 SP1
Labview 2012 FPGA support for Spartan3E
    Xilinx 13.4 tools
DEFB LV FPGA 2012sp1 support installer
Xilinx USB cable driver v1.3 installed.
I took all the precautions mentioned by others on this forum and others, mainly that the cable must be disconnected before installing the Xilinx cable driver. All software and drivers were installed correctly.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Labview software set I had.  I still get the same error.
    A few other questions:
    1.  Is the Xilinx cable different from a regular USB cable of the same configuration ?
    2.  When I program the FPGA I only have the USB cable connected between my computer and the Spartan 3e board.  Should any other cable be connected ?
    3.  What should be the correct jumper settings for J1 - JP30 (especially J30, J11, JP9, JP6, JP7, etc) ?
I have been at this or over 3 days trying to figure it out.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • DPM failed to communicate with the protection agent on DPM 2010 SERVER because the agent is not responding. (ID 43 Details: Internal error code: 0x8099090E)

    Hi everyone,
Backup jobs for protected members are intermittently failing with the following error on the DPM server:
DPM failed to communicate with the protection agent on <DPM 2010 SERVER> because the agent is not responding. (ID 43 Details: Internal error code: 0x8099090E)
Why does the DPM server failing to see it's own DPM agent cause the backup job for another server to fail? One day a backup will work fine, the next it may fail; and the next back to normal again...
The following error is recorded in the Service Control Manager event log on the DPM server just prior to the above error:
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the DPMRA service to connect.
    Thank you.
    With regards,
    Rob

    Hello,
I have read these entire postings and see that my problems match most of the above problems.
I believe we have tried all of the ideas in this blog and lots of other ideas from other forums and internet searches.
We have about 80 small databases protected and set at 15 minute incremental and most will work but some fail.  When they fail the most common, but not only error, is something like "DPM
failed to communicate with the protection agent on <DPM 2010 SERVER> because the agent is not responding. (ID 43 Details: Internal error code: 0x8099090E)". The alert is inactivated in the DPM Console, and the backups resume as normal."
Since later jobs are successful I thought all was well.  All was well until I went to restore from incremental backups.  We worked for two days (day and night work) to restore
from a corrupted virtual disk on our SQL Server 2008 R2.  I suspect DPM had something to do with the corrupted virtual disk.  All I know is that we never had this problem until installing DPM.  Here is what we encountered when we went to restore
    from the protection points:
    *  Restore jobs take a minimum of 15 minutes for jobs that are 45 MB or 2 GB.
    *  If you pick a backup from the list of recovery points that is not valid the job runs for 15 minutes and then "Failed".
    *  You cannot rerun the job because SQL Server 2008 has the table being recovered as <tablename> (recovering) and a retry will not work.  Of course time is wasted while waiting
    to see if it worked.
    * Eventually you realize that even after dropping the table in the (recovering) mode in SQL that the restore point must be bad or possibly one of this failed recovery points.
    * So begins the quest to start restoring recovery points one by one and 15 minutes by 15 minutes until you find one that actually restores to a SQL Instance.
    *  If you have 80 of these to do and you average trying three recovery points and each takes 15 minutes, not to mention the time to drop the table in SQL, well that time adds up to 3,600
minutes of trial and error.  60 hours of trial and error, wow not much of a savings using DPM over a SQL backup plan.
    * And then you have to explain to your customers that their databases were restored but you do not know at what point the DB was restored.
All in all it seems like DPM concept is great but like many backups the backup plan looks good on paper but actually restoring a backup is quite a different matter.
I don't know if anyone has ever solved the problems presented in this forum but if they have then I wish they would post and if no one has solved the problem then shame on DPM.
Good luck everyone, but I for one have spent about two months on trying to protect and restore consistently.  I have never had one day of consistent and reliable restore points.  I
am going back to sql management plans for my backups.  I have never, in 10 years had a sql generated backup fail me.  Never.

  • Old visa open, error code 1073807343, using VISA with a GPIB device, and VISA resource names

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get a SRS model SR720 LCR meter (manual on this page) working with LabView, connecting it to my PC with an Agilent 82357A GPIB/USB interface (manual on this page). I'm running MAX version 14.0, and NI-VISA version 14.0. I'm running LabView version 13.0f2, 32 bit.
I followed the directions on this page, and I'm pretty confident I can communicate with my LCR meter, because I can go to NI MAX->GPIB0::17::INSTR under "devices and interfaces", then go to the VISA test panel, go to the I/O tab, and I can enter a few commands from the SR720 manual, like changing the frequency, and I see the light on the LCR meter change to what I just told it to do. Here is a picture, just to illustrate it:
Also, if I do the *IDN? command, it returns "
    9: Write Operation (*IDN?)
    Return Count: 5 bytes
    10: Read Operation
    Return Count: 41 bytes
    StanfordResearchSystems,SR720,08087,1.03\n
So, that's good too. I also made the alias of this device "MyLCRmeter", but that shouldn't matter for now.
Now I'm trying to get it to work in a more usable way. The SR7xx drivers that LabView found for me came with a couple sample programs, one called "Getting Started.vi". I tried to just simply see if it worked, changing the "instrument descriptor" field to "GPIB0::17::INSTR", since that's the one that seemed to be the right device in MAX. Here is a picture of the front panel of "Getting Started.vi":
Trying to run it like this gave me this error (code -1073807343):
Old VISA Open in SR715/720 Initialize.vi->SR715/720 Getting Started.vi
Doing a bit of searching on these forums, I found these few threads (1 2 3), which seem to tell me that, since this program was written, the way you open VISA has changed. In the 2nd of those links, one guy said:
You just have to replace the Old VISA Open function with the VISA Open that is on the Instrument I/O>VISA>VISA Advanced palette. When you do that, the wire to the string that was used for the resource name will be broken. Delete the string and make the actual VISA Resource Name visible on the front panel. Wire the VISA Resource Name control to the connector pane where the string control was (upper left connection).
So, I went into the sub-VI Initialize.vi, and did that. Here is a picture of what the front panel and block diagram of the sub-VI Initialize2.vi (I changed the name in case I screwed things up, but I'm pretty sure the new one is the one being called by Getting Started.vi) looked like before I changed anything (you can see the Old VISA Open):
and here it is after replacing that with the regular VISA Open, deleting the instrument descriptor string and replacing it with a VISA resource, and connecting that to the VISA Open:
However, as you can see in the image above, and it seems like someone else had this problem in the 2nd thread linked above, I don't see my device listed in the drop-down menu (even if I refresh), only "LPT1" (I don't even know what that is):
No, I wasnt able to select the visa resource from the pull down menu. somehow it seems disabled or something.
If I just enter the VISA resource name from MAX manually, GPIB0::17::INSTR, and save and try running that, I get the error(code -1073807346):
    VISA Open in SR715/720 Initialize2.vi->SR715/720 Getting Started.vi
So I'm not sure where to go from there, or why it's not in the drop down menu to begin with. I'm sorry if I've missed something but I've searched about as far as I can go. If I had to guess, maybe one thing could be that in MAX, under Tools->NI-VISA->VISA Options->My System->Conflict manager, I have both Agilent VISA and NI VISA enabled; I know sometimes problems arise from conflicts between different software fighting over the same hardware. Is this okay, or do I need to change it?
Thank you and please let me know if there is any other code/screenshots I could provide that could help!

Hi, I did indeed enable NiVisaTulip.dll under MAX->Tools->NI-VISA->VISA Options->My system->Passports->List of passports. Sorry, I should have mentioned that explicitly.
By install as primary, do you just mean as it is here, where it is selected as the "Preferred VISA"?
Or somewhere else? I installed NI-VISA first I believe, and then the Agilent one, and during the installation of the Agilent one, I'm pretty sure I made it not the primary. Here's what I have in the Agilent (it's called Keysight now) Connection Expert software:
I also have this under the "Keysight 488 options" tab:
Should that be checked? I don't actually know the role of VISA vs 488 here...
    What could I try?
    Thank you!

  • Error code 63003..while running a FPGA prog on Host PC using FPGA reference VI

    Hi,
when i run my FPGA program on HOST PC using a FPGA reference vi on windows platform, I get an error code 63003 (FPGA bit file out of date). When I go back, recompile and run the FPGA program on the FPGA target, then shut it and come back to HOST PC and run my application with FRGA Open refence vi, it runs with out any error! Does any one know why I get that error code 63003

This error means that the VI which is downloaded to the FPGA was changed on the host/development system, but has not been recompiled. By recompiling it you resolve this problem.
When a LabVIEW FPGA VI is compiled for the FPGA, the bit stream, which will be downloaded to the FPGA, is stored in the VI file. When LabVIEW RT or LabVIEW Windows attempts to download the bit stream to the RIO card, it makes sure the bit stream corresponds to the VI source code in the same file. This is necessary so that the host application can properly communicate with the VI on the FPGA. If the two are not the same, this error is generated from the Open FPGA VI Reference function in the host application.

  • Error code 0x00000004 when installing Yosemite?

I have a family member's 2012 13 inch MacBook Pro that failed to boot one day (month ago). I've tried to restore via Recovery and install from all OS's I have available to me (Mavericks and Yosemite). I've downloaded each OS from the Mac App Store. Each time I try to install Mac OS X I get an error. While Mountain Lion (was installed on recovery partition) never included any information, Mavericks and Yosemite gave me an error log. After scanning it, I found the error code of 0x00000004.
In reading other threads, I understand this may be a faulty RAM stick issue? Anyone had this error before? Are there hardware tests I can run? The full log is below.
