Communicating with Third Party System

Dear All
I have a scenario where I want to send Idoc PEXR2002 to a bank.
SAP 4.6C --> PI -
> Bank
I have made all the configurations to send the idoc to PI and I am sending the Idoc to PI using partner type Bank SAPPI successfully but in PI I am getting the error that receiver agreement not found.
I have created the Bank as a Third Party System in SLD but  I am not sure how to link this third party system in ID (Integration Directory) .
My questions are
How to link the third party system created in SLD  with ID to send the IDOC using a HTTP Adapter i.e should I create the third party as a Business System or Business Service in ID.
Second Question is while sending the IDOC from 4.6C to PI what kind of partner type I will use LS or Bank.

Hi Adnan,
Its complaining about the receiver agreement. So you need to make the receiver agreement. You can have a 3rd party business system for the bank and create teh receiver agreement between your sap business system and for this one. Add your bank receiver communication channel in this receiver agreement. Then it should work. Since you are using  PEXR2002  idoc then you dont need to create sender communication channel and sender agreement.
In Sap while you create partner profile you can use bank as partner type.

  • Best practices for apps integration with third party systems ?

    Hi all
I would like to know if there is any document from oracle or from your own regarding best practices for apps integration with third party systems.
For example, in particular, let's say we need customization in a given module(ex:payables) need to provide data to a third party system, consider following:
    outbound interface:
1)should third party system should be given with direct access to oracle database to access a particular payments data information table/view to look for data ?
    2) should oracle create a file to third party system, so that it can read and do what it need to do?
    inbound:
    1) should third party should directly login and insert data into tables which holds response data?
    2) again, should third party create file and oralce apps will pick up for further processing?
again, there could be lot of company specific scenarios like it has to be real time or not... etc...
How does companies make sure third party systems are not directly dipping into other systems (oracle apps/others), so that it will follow certain integration best practices.
how does enterprise architectute will play a role in this? can we apply SOA standards? should use request/reply using Tibco etc?
Many oracle apps implementations customizations are more or less directly interacting with third party systems by including code to login into respective third party systems and vice versa.
Let me your know if you have done differently and that would help oracle apps community.
    thanks
    rrb.

you want to send idoc to third party system (NONSAP).
what kind of system is it? can it handle http requests
    or
    can it handle webservice?
which version of R/3 you are using?
what is the mechanism the receiving system has, to receive data?

  • SAP IDM  7.0 integration with third party system

    Hi Experts,
I know SAP IDM  7.0 can integrate with third party systems and create user ids on most of the third party systems.
But I need to know regarding If it is possible to integrate with following systems
    1) Microsoft Exchange 2007 (  I know till exchange 2003 SAP  IDM support )
    2)  Microsoft  Active directory 2008 ( I know till Actice directory 2003)
    3) EMC  Documentum 6.5
    4)  ARIS 7.1.0
    5)  BlackBoard, Release 9.0
    6) Oracle 10g  ( Is it possible to create users at oracle level ? or at what level ? )
    7)  Sun Solaris Sparc  ( Is it possible to create users at  OS level )
If you have information how on this please share. I know that  provisioning framework will have templates for most of the target systems. I want to know if they are available for above systems on SAP IDM 7.0 or if not have we can connect to them?

    Hi Matthew
Your expertise in SAP IDM is indeed a great help!!
    >Can't see why not, it's all done via SQL commands. I've done similar things with MSSQL
You mean that there will be oracle 10g drivers/oledb connectors in SAP IDM and in through SQL commands like "create user alfredo identified by alfredos_secret; " we can create user  in oracle database ?. As you said this should be possible.  What about creating user( user management ) in oracle 10g application  like dba or scot  and assigning the privileges in oracle application?
    >might need to do via UNIX scripts, but it can be done
You mean that Unix scripts will be defined in SAP IDM and SAP IDM will execute these scripts in the Sun Solaris Sparc ?. It should be possible as you said. By the way how we will be able connect to Sun Solaris sparc ?  Is it via  the option "file " under the "Repositories" with repositories wizard  and later executing the file from SAP IDM ?
Thank you once again for your expert answers on third party systems.

  • Communication with third party

    Hi Folks,
I need to communicate between a 3rd party and SAP system through SAP XI as a middleware. If I have the ip adress of the 3rd party how I'm going to connect the third party. If at all I'm able to connect to SAP XI from the 3rd party then how can I get the response from XI to the 3rd party system. Let us asume 2 scenarios , 1st - we have a webservice and 2nd - no webservice communication.
    Regards.....

    Hi Nayak,
    > we have a webservice
If you have a webservice then you can directly connect to xi using soap adapter. Once you receive data you need to have a rfc to send the response back to webservice. Please check this blogs. YOur integration will be opposite to this blogs:
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/03/23/rfc--xi--webservice--a-complete-walkthrough-part-1
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/03/28/rfc--xi--webservice--a-complete-walkthrough-part-2
    >no webservice communication
If it is within network then you can ask them to put a file and then you can read the file using file adapter. Once you have read the file you can send to rfc in sap and the response from rfc you can write as another file. Earlier we used to use BPM for this approach but now you can do with out BPM also. Please check this bhavesh thread:
File - RFC - File without a BPM - Possible from SP 19.
If you want to use BPM then you can refer:

  • Configuring PI SSL for communicating with third-party web services

    Hi,
I'm trying to load a COMODO certificate into a J2EE environment running in NetWeaver 7 (no enhancement packs), in order to connect to an external web service using SSL
I have been looking at this reference:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/a0/a5d13f83a14d21e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
and in this document (and many others i've read) it talks about requiring a server key pair to support SSL.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/frameset.htm
My question is - is there a way to use the self-signed root CA certificates instead of having to generate CSRs and sign certs?  I ask this because it seems completely impractical to have to generate key pairs for each SAP installation that is required to access a third-party web service.
Furthermore, the SSL connection may only be for the web service and I'd rather not have to ask that the entire J2EE server is switched to SSL in order to make this secure connection. I've recently discovered the AXIS framework for the SOAP adaptor however I'm not familiar with it and can't identify whether you could use this for the SSL handshake and avoid having to a) generate certificate key pairs and b) switch your J2EE server to SSL
Does anyone have experience connecting to a third-party service using VeriSign, COMODO or Thawte certificates and can clear this up for me?
    Regards,
    John

    Did you resolve your issue?
I´m posting some comments that maybe can help newer administrators facing similar doubts.
I´m using NW PI 7.1 EHP1 also and some interfaces were developed for using an external site providing web services through SSL (HTTPS) connection.
As in browser navigation, secure sites protected with SSL has a certificate emited by a international CA. We didn´t perceive the "handshake" in the most of cases because normally the web browser has a group of trusted CAs loaded on its certificate store.
With SAP PI and its WAS Java a similar procedure occurs with a small difference. The WAS Java didn´t have the trusted CAs loaded on KeyStorage. So, when the adapter tries to establishing a connection with an HTTPS site (it is a background process)  a "handshake" is required to accepting the certificate and produces a error.
We completes the handshake importing the entire certificate chain (you can upload the site´s certificate to your browser and export it as file) on Keytore under the Trusted CAs view.
Hope this can help someone. It´s an "easy" part of SSL communication.
Now I´m trying to configure the inverse: Some third party consuming the PI web services using SSL. I have an additional component on inbound/ incoming connections that is the SAP Web Dispatcher.
The Help.sap.com is the reference but as always its a little difficult to find the (sequential) path following the links (go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, go back, go back, go ahead)...

    Rodrigo Aoki

  • ESR connectivity with third party systems

    Hi all
As given in the documents related to PI 7.1. Services from SAP CE and SAP PI can be configured into ESR. Is it possible to configure a webservice hosted by third party into ESR and any guidlines present for the same. Any pointers will be helpful.
    Thnaks a lot
    Manohar.

    Hi,
Ok, i think that should be no problem, it may seem confusing but in fact the ESR is just a kind of Design Repository where Service Definitions without any context to a concret system are stored.
The Service Registry (which i think you are looking for) is another thing, you can publish Service Defintions also
from the ESR or the Integration Directory into the Service Registry, but i don't think that is necessary in the usage you like to achieve.
You can do that "directly" by publishing it either with the UDDI Api or on the web interface of the service registry
which lays under the url <host>:<port>/sr (see tab publish) or this blog:
    /people/bv.pillai/blog/2007/11/12/new-service-registry-ui-in-nwce-netweaver-composition-environment-71--sp3
Here' s some information on the Service Registry:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/b4ca147d2952f5e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
And this document also contents the relation between ESR (Enterprise Service Repository) and SR (Service Registry):

  • SAP B1 Integration with third party system

    Dear all,
i want to connect some parts of SAP Business One with my Webinterface. I have installed the Netweaver integration tool (B1i). Does somebody know if I can use this tool to connect SAP B1 also to another system then only R/3. And if yes how can I create the new langscape?
    many thanks, david

    Edd,
thanks a lot. I also saw your documentation you wrote about the integration tool in January 2006. Technicle it should be possible for my system, but I need to test it...
I have now one important license-question:
    1) The integration tool is free if I have a SAP B1 license, isn't it?
    2) Lets say 10 of my employees enter master data in 5 different companies of my webinterface. Each employee has his own user account on my webinterface. Now the entered data in the different databases (companies) are sent to SAP B1 thru the integration tool and master data are created in SAP B1 in 5 different Databases (companies). NOBODY is logged in SAP B1 directly. All Data are comming thru the integration tool, but from different Webinterface-User and for different Databases. How many licenses in that case I would need for SAP Business One? Just one for the integration tool as the only direct-user of SAP B1 in that case, or 10 for the different accounts on my webinterface from which the data are comming from?
    Many thanks, David
