Communication beetween MS Exchange ans Oracle 8i

Hello,
I would like an exchange 5.5 server to communicate with an
Oracle 8i Database. That is, find a way to give to an
Oracle application all the mails received in a already
defined recipient. The application should be able to get
all the common informations (sender, date, subject, ...)
and also the documents attached.
Is it possible and how do I get to do that ?

I am evaluating Exchange to Oracle Colaberation Suite - I would like to hear of any views on the process you completed - are you happy or unhappy - How painful was the process. Any comment would be good

For the end user this should be transarant as they should use their favourite client (eg MS Outlook, Thunderbird, etc). It is easy to manage when you have sufficient Oracle skills (db and AS).
Of course you have other components (calendar, RTC, Portal, News, Discussion, etc) in the OCS.

WE have an Oracle database 9i. we want to use JMS ( Java messaging service ) for sending XML messages from one oracle system to other external system.
we are reading and creating XML files in Oracle database, but to send messages externally in forms of a XML file generated from Oracle could ayone tell me how that can be done or suggest some usefulk links
Also how to configure Oracle with JMS, could anyone tell me any useful links where i can find more information or any suggestions on this would be fine

Having problems with Microsoft Exchange ans the Sync Issues, Conflicts folder

Ever since our company started using the Exchange we have been getting double/triple up's of emails.
They seem to go to the inbox ok but then extra copies go to the sync/conflicts folder, which when stored on the exchange, fills up the mailbox, which is a pain.
I'm using Outlook 2007 and everyone else are using Outlook 2010.
I have found the Sync Issues folder on my Outlook and here are 2 examples:

It's all gobblede gook to me. I had not realized that the Sync issue folder was on my computer but it is and it has nearly 6000 sync issues in it since we started using the exchange back in December.

For your highlight part, This issue occurs if the Outlook client computer is configured to use proxy settings when Windows Internet Explorer is used. However, the IP address of the Exchange 2007 Client Access Server (CAS) server is not in the exclusion list.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.Start Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
2.On the Connections tab, click LAN settings.
3.Click to select the Bypass proxy server for local addresses check box, and then click Advanced.
4.Type the FQDN of the Exchange 2007 CAS server, and then click OK.
5.Restart Outlook.

Data exchange between Oracle DB and JD Edwards

Hi all,
We have an Oracle 10g EE database which we maintain. The financial system is using JD Edwards. We need to provide them some daily information(payments) Also they need to send us some data( payment reconciliation). My questions are:
1. What kind of interaction is posible between Oracle db and JD Edwards?
2. What database does JD Edwards internally use? Is in an Oracle db?
3. Is there an ODBC driver available for interaction?
4. Does JD Edwards handle credit card payments?
Please, can you give me an answer quick, we need it by the end of today for a proposal..

#2 All the JD Edwards installations I have ever come across were on AS400 (iSeries I believe is the new name) â¦their niche on the application software market was the fact that they were running so well integrated with that particular platform. AS400 comes bundled with [one of the many flavors of] DB2 â¦ that is, no extra license required. Oracle has never had an AS400 port â¦ so I doubt youâll find Oracle underneath your JD Edwards installation.
#1 âsome daily payment informationâ suggests batch type integration and relatively small in scope â¦ all systems/applications have some sort of data loader and there are always ways to get data out into files â¦ so a custom, file-based little integration mechanism could be all that you need. I did work once in such a little project â¦ the JD Edwards specialists in the company did their part of loading and loading on their side â¦ we did the same on the Oracle side â¦ we agreed on file formats, content, schedules, a common/secure drop zone in the network etc. and that was pretty much it. The point is, there must be some JD Edwards people in your company you should get involved in the discussion/proposal.
#3 An ODBC driver for DB2 on AS400 very likely exists â¦ keep in mind though that this means the integration will be at a low level (table level) â¦ many applications expose integration points at the API level (application level). Again, you have to get the JD Edwards people on board.
My last points â¦ if you have Oracle in house then call your Oracle representative â¦ Oracle owns JD Edwards â¦ you may get better answers or re-directs there. Also look if your company has any middleware software already â¦ contact the vendor and see what they have to say

Exchange portlet (Oracle Team???)

I'm getting following errorcode when I try to run the test.asp exzmple to test Exchange?
Does somebody know what this error means?

This Exchange example uses ASP pages, on which there are Server.CreateObject(ObjectName) instructions. If CreateObject fails, you get the Invalid ProgId error you mentioned.
My guess is that you do not have the appropriate object installed on your system.
Have a look at those pages, to see which object your system is missing.

Has anyone integrated Presence and/or Unity Connection with an Cloud based Exchange provider service? Presence would be for calendar integration and Unity Connection would be for Unified Messaging (Single inbox for vmail and email)?

Business Package for Communication with NW04 and Exchange 2003?

Hi, we are evaluating opportunities to realize a groupware integration in the SAP Portal EP60SP2. A upgrade to Netweaver is planned, so the possible solution should work with Netweaver too. Our Exchange version is 2003.
I'm thinking about the standard SAP Groupware-Integration in combination with the Business Package for Communication.
Has anyone expirences with the Business Package for communication, Netweaver and Exchange 2003, yet?
I know, it's not officially supported, but maybe it works.
With the OWA-iViews we've got problems to implement our Styleguide and to devide into different iViews. The informations shown in the iViews of the Business Package are adequate and we would save ActiveX.
Is there another solution that works?
Are there other iViews from 3rd party developers, that show Outlook informations? Has anyone realized something like this in a project yet?
I would be grateful for any ideas.

Hi Sandra,
Please note that the Business Package for Communication was only available for SAP EP 5.0. Newer releases of SAP EP contain the groupware (GW) functionalities and some GW iViews automatically as soon as KM is installed with the EP. The integration with MS Exchange 2003 should work. If you look for iViews such as Send EMail, Create Appointment, Show availability and Room Calendar, you can use the iViews shipped by SAP. If however you need the EMail inbox or the personal calendar and tasks, then the native OWA iViews are the way to go. BI & Oracle XI data exchanges using WEBServices (into both sides)

Would you be so kind and give me suggestions.
We have:
BI 7 server Oracle Exchange Infrastructure Oracle DB server
Our client wants to implement this data exchange solution:
Scenario A: i have load data to BI from Oracle DB
My steps are: from BI i have to call WEBService from Oracle Exchange Infrastructure when Oracle Exchange Infrastructure calls WEBService from Oracle DB and Oracle DB returns data set to BI via Oracle Exchange Infrastructure.
How to schedule job for calling WEBServices from Oracle Exchange Infrastructure? What have i configure in BI?
Scenario B: Application based on Oracle DB wants to get data from BI
Steps are: Oracle DB calls WEBService from Oracle Exchange Infrastructure when Oracle Exchange Infrastructure calls WEBService from BI and BI sends data to Oracle DB via Oracle Exchange Infrastructure.
BI offers Open Hub Service for data distribution from BI, but I didnt find description how to distribute data using WEBServices.
Is is possible to implement Scenario A and Scenario B in BI with standard tools.
Could you give me detailed answers(step-by-step what I have to do)?

Quite an interesting landscape....
Also what do you mean by standard tools ?
Option A :
You can use the XML datasource for the same and once the XML data source is called , the data enters the Delta Queue in the BI server and from there you can use the normal infopackage / real time daemon to load data into your cubes / DSO. The XML datasource works on SOAP and this has to be supported by the Oracle XI.
Option B:
Slightly more trickier since you are hitting the BI server directly....
I am not sure if an infospoke can be a web service but some of the ways this could be done is :
a. Have an Func Module which acts as a web service and have that FM return the data
b. Have SAP XI inbetween to do the same
Also on the landscape- depending on the nature of data loads / data requests - if BI-Oracle is more - you can look at having SAP XI there instead....

Can anybody please explain me how SAP instance communicate with Oracle processes ?
Also some details on OPS$, SID.ADM etc accounts - how they are created and communication between them.

Basically how authentication between SAP and Oracle takes place. What are the a/c that comes with SAP inst and what relevant a/c for these communication comes by default with Oracle Db installation.

03113 end-of-file on communication channel | Oracle 11g Upgrade

Hi,
Whilst upgrading our DEV system from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.1 using DBUA
with a powershell script , the upgraded failed with the error "ORA-
03113 end-of-file on communication channel" during the "Upgrading
Oracle Server" section.
The oracle 11g service is created but it cannot start.
The oradim.log reports
03113 end-of-file on communication channel also.
The alert log just show the database tries to start and reports the parameters from the pfile it's using but then stops without any error message.
All the pre-upgrade tasks are done and there was no errors. This is on Windows 64bit 2003.
The server is vmware , not sure if this could be an issue.
It was possible to roll back using the dbua script and bring the system back up with 10g.
Anyone come across a similar issue ?

ORA-3113 are well known output from a connection to database lost of a reason.
Oracle says this reconnect and try again as solution.
If you got the same error on the same place /job, investigate the script/job.

IRC and the Oracle discussion forum are complete different things. One is live chat, the later is the exchange of written communication. I think the Oracle community will be your best option. It depends what you are looking for, which you did not outline. IRC is a dinosaur from the last century, which has a bad reputation in regard to security standards and hence is often blocked by corporate networks. For instance, because IRC connections are usually unencrypted and typically span long time periods, they are an attractive target for Dos/DDos attackers.

for that i have set

In Accounts:

Anything need to configure because after submitting a request It is showing that request is successfully completed but not receiving mail.

How do I improve performance with exchange

My corporate email is on an exchange 2010 server. Mail.app works with the server but there are a number of performance problems when sending and receiving, which are also well documented in other discussion threads. I have tried every suggested configuration but performance remains extremely poor, especially when compared to my personal IMAP accounts, and the performance I was used to in Outlook 2011 under Mountain Lion.
Looking through my logs I see multiple entries of:

I have installed and trusted the certificates for our exchange server and can browse to the owa front end with no certificate warnings.
Interestingly, I don't have the same problem with reminders or calendar which are connected to the same exchange server.
Does anyone have any ideas how to overcome this problem?

Some additional information...
I fired up wireshark to take a look. For all communications to our Exchange server (Mail, Calendar, Notes...) the SSL negotation includes a downgrade to TLS v1
I notice that Mavericks CoreFoundation Networks defaults to TLS v1.2 and that BEAST mitigation leads to some problems example: https://trac.adium.im/ticket/16550
Exchange Server 2010 is TLS v1.0 only http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2709167
I'll do some more Wireshark investigation.
