Communication channel availablity time issue

Hi All,
We want to schdule communication channel every mid night ,but when i tried to give the time there is a diffrence of about 6 hours .so evry time if in need to schdule need to calculate and schdule the time ,checked out the server timing it is similar to system time ,even messages in MONI also showing the correct time ,do we need to check anything in the adpter engine to correct this time diffrence.

Do browser send a error report to the website if browser fail in set up communication channel first time with that site

Suppose i want to open some site using mozilla but first time browser fail to set up communication channel. When I attempt second time it successfully set up a connection then my question is that on the second time will browser send error report of first time to that site

What was the specific problem with the first request? For example:
* The server reset the connection
* Page didn't load (blank)
* Security certificate error
* et cetera
In some of these cases, the destination server might not know you sent a first request. And in other cases, that will be in the log. But I do not think Firefox sends any notification of problems with previous connections, the site would have to make an educated guess about the problem based on getting two sequential requests from the same IP address.

PI communication channels

Hi,
In our PI landscape, communication channels are not working properly. To work with the communication channels, every time we need to restart the JAVA instance. Then only the communication channels are working fine but after certain time, again the problem persists and need a restart of JAVA instance.
Any body have any idea on this issue.

Time stamp is not getting updated for File Adapter in communication channel

Hi All,
Since yesterday, I am observing that the time stamp of communication channel for File adapter is not gettingupdated some times.
I had to stop and start the communication channel to update the time stamp.Please let me know if anyone has come across such issue or any useful notes on this.I could not find any related notes on Market place.

This is happening only with one communication channel which is sender in derection.Any reason why it is happening like this?since the restart of the communication channel it is getting update now.I really do not know how to delete/create the communication channels as this was done our PI consultants.Pls guide me.

One communication channel with 2 cluster node functioning at the same time

Hi Gurus,
We have PI 7.1 installed in a HA environment, which includes two servers.
server A: ASCSSCSDBERSAAS
server B: ERS + PAS
and we can see a jdbc channel in the communication channel monitoring, and along with the CC there are two cluster ID available,both of which are showing green -- functioning.
now the issue is the process is actually not started because there is no processing details, and when we stop the CC and then start, nothing happens, but there are still 2 green nights, seems very strange.
does any one have such experience and how can make these two nodes work well?

Probably they use an older version of alsa that doesn't have dmix enabled by default.

Issue with updation of communication channel

Hi Experts,
I have configured a JMS to Proxy scenario in XI system. i have changed the "Queue name" parameter in sender communication channel for the JMS adapter. the new Queue name is not being used by the interface.
when i monitor the messages for the this interface, i found that system is still using the Old Queue name.
can you please suggest a way to resolve this issue.

Stop the channel using RWB>Adapter Engine>Communication Channel Monitoring
Identify your JMS sender Communication channel and stop it.
Go to ID and reedit this channel and activate.
Comeback to previous Communication Channel Monitoring check the status of activated Communication Channel (start it if it is still in stopped mode)

Issue on file sender adapter communication channel

Hi All,
I have an issue on some of the file sender adapter communication channels .The channels are failing with the error :
(u201CAttempt to process file failed with com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.xi.swift.ParserException: com.sap.xi.swift.ParserException: Message does not start with character '0x1f'u201D).
Please let me know the procedure to get this message processed.

Hi Vishu,
Find out in what encoding the file is in. for that download Notepad++ and open the file with in.
In Encoding tab you will see the encoding format.
1. If its not UTF-8 or ANSI then you should set the correct encoding in Sender File channel.
2. Check for BOM characters which will not be visible directoly.
3. Use Notepad++ to convert the content to HEX and check for hidden values. i bet there will be some Encoding BOM in the file which is creating problem while picking the file.
Since you are using SWIFT module: try to validate the XML file using Altova XML and check weather is correct.

umlaut Conversion issue in Sender communication channel that is reason channel not able to pic the file from the path.
Sender CC error:
Value of incoming field is too large. Segment:'IMD', Field:'7008', MaxLength:'35', value:'Plssvvkbecher LÃ¼bzer 0,4 (1280Stk p' DESCRIPTION: The length of the field value is too big !
Actually field contains 35 Chars only the value is : 'Plssvvkbecher Lübzer 0,4 (1280Stk p'
We tried with “ISO-8859-1” if the field value is less than 35 characters it is able to converting.
Please help me out from this issue.

Have you tried using the codepageconversion bean in the modules under the sender? It would be like:
AF_Modules/TextCodepageConversionBean with a parameter of Conversion.charset and a value of utf-8.

Time out condition for FTP parameters in communication channel

Could you please tell what should be the maximum limit for time out condition in receiver file communication channel for FTP.
it should be either 120,90 or 60 seconds or can we exceed time than this?

There is no hard limit, but the time limit should be less than the polling interval: if you set the polling interval to 60 seconds, your timeout interval should be less than that value. If you exceed this value, you have the risk of an adapter deadlock (adapter stops polling)
You can imagine that a timeout interval of 300 seconds would not make much sense.

Issue creating Communication Channel

Friends,
I'm new to SAP XI and learning it but ran into below issue.
When I try to create any communication channel in ID and click on "help" on Adapter Type field so it should display all the adapters in the system but it always shows "No objects founds!"
Anyone please help me here?
Note: I don't have SAP Service access so please don't point me to any SAP NOTE. (I appreciate).

Please refer to the installation document. Not sure which version you are installing but this is from XI3.0 installation document.
Also check whether anything missing in config.

3. Choose Repository (Design).
4. Choose . Tools . Import Design Objects

I have a requirement where in we have to stop the JMS Sender communication channel in case the Receiver System is down. Could you please let me know how to stop the sender communication channel at run time.

Like Praveen Kumar said, I dont think there is an out of the box solution for this. But if you want to stop the communication channel, you could do it using a BPM.This solution is just something that came to my mind. It would be resource intensive to implement this. But here goes...
Try to make the call to the Receiver System a synchronous call and have an exception branch in the block which has the synchronous step type. So if the Receiver System is down you would get an error in the Sync Step Type and it would go to the exception branch.Try to make a HTTP call from BPM to stop the communication channel. The URL for the HTTP call could be what Matias Denker suggested. This would stop the communication channel. This solution might however have two disadvantage that i foresee.
1) It might stop the communication channel not only for system down but for any kind of synchronous error.
2) Starting the communication channel has to again be a whole different process.

Config-time substitution of Communication Channel values

I apologize in advance if this is explained elsewhere (or it's so blindingly obvious that nobody has asked). I promise I looked.

Is there a way to do parameter substitution on values defined in a communication channel template, based on the business system that the channel is going to be assigned to at config time?
In case I got the terminology wrong, here's what I want to do. I have some CC templates defined for some SOAP services. In the template definition, I can add Target URL and SOAP Action attributes and assign a value to them that will be available on the config side later on. I want to use this template against a number of technical systems, each of which is going to have a different host portion of the Target URL.
What I would like to have is a way for the CC template to have a 'generic' hostname that is substituted for at config time by the actual hostname of the business system that the channel is going to connect to.
Is there a way to do that? Or is that a stupid question?

I think there is a way to do this, depending on the XI SP level.

Issue in the XI Integration Directory when generating communication channel

In the SAP XI Integration Directory, when I am attempting to create a Business System. I would like to have the communication channels automatically generated. The Business System gets created as intended. However the communication channels are not automatically generated. I get the message captured "<b>Unable to find an associated SLD element (source element: SAP_XIIntegrationDirectory, [CreationClassName, SAP_XIIntegrationDirectory, string, Name, directory.cxg.cpgia64, string], target element type: SAP_XIIntegrationServer)"</b>
All configurations seems to be OK. Have you experienced this problem before, If so how did you remedy to it?

we have this error too. What i can say is, that it have to
do with the inconsistence of the SLD. You have to check if
you don't have some inconsistence in the SLD.
Sometime the connection to SLD is instable. Then just try
again some minutes later. But it the error persist than
something is not correct configured in SLD. We don't know
exactly what we have done so that the error gone after
correcting in SLD.

Issue with content conversion in receuver communication channel

I am trying to configure receiver communication channel with file adapter and content conversion.
File structure is simple, as shown below:
MT_EmployeeDetails
     Employee_rec
          Employee_rec_struct
               EmpNo
               EmpName
               Address
It should have generated file in the following format:
1101     xxxx     xxxxx
1102     xxxx     xxxxx
1103     xxxx     xxxxx
But it is generating flat file as shown below:
1101     1102     1103     1104
Basically it is populating only first field in the target field. But I could see that the xml file is properly getting
generated in sxmb_moni.Also, when i tried to generate xml file without FCC, it is creating file properly.
following are the parameters I am using:
Employee_rec_struct.fielSeparator     '0x09'
Employee_rec_struct.endSeparator     'nl'
pls let me know whetehr i need to add any other parameters in FCC.
