Communication determined by the communication device error

Hello,
I hope that someone can help me with this strange problem.
I am using my Mac book for 2 years, and one month ago something strange happened with my internet connection. This is the message that is appearing every time I try to connect to the Internet : "The communication was determined by the communication device, please check your settings and try again"
So, after that I tried to connect with the other Mac Book and the same error appeared..
We called our network support, they tried everything and nothing happened.
They even tried to change the modem, but it worked perfectly on their lap top.
Please help!!

We did a similar solution, but unfortunately don't remember the user-exit name. One thing is that it is an FI user exit which we used to intervene at the time of FI document creation and the design to convert the document date to pricing date instead of the posting date. It was applicable to exchnage rates too.
So carry out user exit search in the FI document creations area..

  • HP Deskjet 990cxi device error

My PC is home-built with an Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM (3.25 usable) and running Win 7 32-bit. All drivers are up to date and ink cartridges full. I installed Windows 7 on my desktop PC around 5 years ago and setup my 990Cxi with little issue. About ten days ago, the printer stopped responding to documents being sent to print. I've tried many things including: uninstalling and re-installing the printer drivers downloading drivers from HP and doing a manual printer install using printer troubleshooters from Microsoft, the HP downloadable diagnostics tool, HP Printer Install for Windows and HP's  Print and Scan Dr. - nothing will print including test pages sent from these troubleshooters  reinstalling Windows 7 as a pretend upgrade THE reason for not working is diagnosed by the HP Dr as a Device Error - "Cleaning Cartridges" (see picture)  One thing to note is that Windows will no longer install the printer as a 990CXi but only a 990C - this is an interesting difference - and it still won't print!  Another interesting however is... my HP Pavilion laptop will print even though HP's  Print and Scan Dr. finds the same device error!  Any thoughts about how to re-set the 990CXi issue / error and revitalise my printer greatfully accepted. Also, any more info required? Please advise. Many thanks for your help. With best, Benn

How, exactly, do you do that? I've not found that option using HP Utility.

  • Compiling Media gives a Device ERROR at 99% in PE 11

I have a 3 hr on my time line and am trying to burn a Blue Ray. It is compiling and at 99% it gives a Device ERROR. The original video was shot on a Canon DSLR camera. My burner is a LG and is external USB 3.0. My OS is Win7 64 Bit and have nVidia card and Intel i7 procesor with 32 GB ram in an ASUS motherboard. I have all the latest drivers for my hardware. The BlueRay disk is 25 GB - Memorex brand. I tried to switch to RiData and same issue. Can you please Help. Thanks in advance.

Below is a copy of a message I sent to Adobe
I am using windows 7 64 bit professional.  Lenovo T530 with 8 processors.  115 GB free on Hard drive
My pre11 program will not burn an avchd project to a folder.  I have been working with this for 6 days now and I can’t get it to work.  I have a project that has 38 m2ts clips from my camera which is about 15 minutes.  The clips total about 2.6 GB
I can put all 38 clips into my project and if I don’t do anything to them I can burn the project to avdhd to a 4.7GB folder with no problem.  The resulting stream files amount to about 2 GB
I can then add a fade in to the first clip and a fade out to the last clip and then a default cross dissolve transition between each clip in the timeline.  Then I can successfully burn that to a 4.7 GB folder.
Then I can make three cuts (one simply deleting one clip and another 2 cutting out parts of two clips).  Then I can successfully burn that project.
Then I make about 10 more cuts.  When I try to burn this if first goes through the “encoding media” stage and then the “compiling media” stage and then as soon as it starts burning, I get the message “device error and the computer locks up.
I need to know how to fix this.
I checked the timeline and there are no gaps and there is no menu.

  • Unknown Device Error (0x0C, 0x00.) When trying to Burn

The past few days i've run into problems trying to burn from my Mac Book Pro.
In DVD Studio pro i get the " Unknown Device Error (0x0C, 0x00.)" when I try to burn from the burning on the computer.
I even tried burning from an external Lacie drive and I get the "Unknown Device Error (0x30, 0x05.)
I've cleared up hard drive space i have 5 gigs free. And I've tried restarting many times. I haven't run into problems like this before.

    Hi
That can be caused by bad quality media. Read here about * about quality media * and try allways to use first quality group.
Besides that, DVDSP is not the best burning software at all. My prefered workflow is * Creating Disc Image in DVDSP * and burning it with Toast or Disk Utility.
    Hope that helps !

  • Keep getting Reprovision Device Error

Have an Ipad Mini with Verizon 3G. About two months ago I started getting the Reprovision Device error when logging into my Verizon account on my Ipad to check data usage. Called Verizon. Went through troubleshooting steps of Reprovisioning Device on the Ipad. Didn't solve problem. They told me it could be 48-72 hours and the problem would be fixed. It wasn't fixed. Took the Ipad to a Verizon store. They tried a new Sim Card. Didn't solve the problem either. Took the device to Apple, and they troubleshooted problem. Still wasn't fixed. They replaced the Ipad. Problem still persisted. Called Verizon a week ago and they went through troubleshooting steps and that didn't solve the problem. They said to give it 48-72 hours and they said to call back in five days if the problem still persisted. The problem still exists. Reluctant to call Verizon back because after spending a few hours of time now dealing with them I am starting to lose faith in their ability to even follow-up and/or follow through in order to resolve this problem. So I'm turning to this message board...
Has anyone who has had this problem actually had any luck resolving this issue? If so, what worked? Thanks.

I have the identical issue to David Lyell.  More data:
The Apple Store recently replace my iPad Mini due to an urelated issue (microphone not working).  Verizon Cellular Data on 1GB prepaid plan had worked fine on the original iPad Mini.  I could successfully log into "View Account" from the original iPad Mini.
When replacing my original iPad Mini with an identical WiFi+Verizon 64GB model, I removed the Verizon SIM from the original iPad Mini and placed it in the replacement iPad Mini.
The replacement iPad Mini connected to the Verizon LTE network and sent/received data, fine.
I then went to "Cellular Data"->"View Account" and logged in with the userid/password that I'd used on my previous iPad Mini.  What I got:
"Cellar Data Account: Reprovision Device  You account has been activated.  To finish your device configuration, please go to: Settings->General->Reset->Subscriber Services and select 'Reprovision Account'.  If the problem persists please call 800-786-8419 (34415477)."
I clicked "OK," disabled Wi-Fi and followed the above instructions, precisely: No change.
I checked General->About and observed that although I've an IMEI # and other identifiers, my device shows "unknown" for Cellular Data Number.
I phoned Verizon at 800-786-8419 and navigated the IVR tree to technical support.
Following the Verizon Technical Support rep's directions, I:
    - Reprovisioned account using instructions identical to the above: No change.
    - Repeated above and added hard re-set (holding home and sleep buttons until iPad shuts down and restarts): No change.
    - General->Reset->Reset Network Settings: No change (other than my iPad now having lost all stored Wi-Fi authentication credentials for Wi-Fi sites I use)
    - Clicked "forgot password" on "View Account" login screen, awaited new temporary password and used new password to re-attempt "View Account" login: No change.
Verizon tech support rep then advised that "this must be a network issue" and advised that he'd created a Verizon network trouble ticket.  He told me to wait 24 to 72 hours, after which time Verizon Network tech support would phone me to tell me that the issue had been resolved.
It's now been 24 hours.  In light of Mr. Lyell's experience, above, I don't have a great deal of faith that I'll see a solution.
    Current State:
    - Verizon iPad Mini 64GB running iOS 6.1.3 (Verizon 14.2)
    - Successfully sends/receives data on Verizon LTE
    - Cannot access Cellular Data Account info via Cellular Data->View Account: Get "Reprovision Account" instructions, instead.
    - General->About shows "Unknown" for Cellar Data Number
    Any additional diagnostics/possible solutions appreciated!

There is precious little information concerning this warning dialog. If I am disconnected from any network; wifi, Bluetooth, Thunderbolt Ethernet, doesn't matter, I get this error in a pop-up dialog. "Your connection failed because the communication device is unavailable. Make sure it's connected to your computer and try reconnecting" Creating a new Location under System Preferences / Network does not solve the problem. 1. What is asking to be connected? 2. How do I stop this? Running Yosemite 10.10.2 on a MBP 13"

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

    Hi there
Do you happen to use a USB modem or something like that? This could be the cause.
You could try creating a new network location to see if that fixes it (if not you can just reverse it)
    1. Go to  Menu -> System Preferences
    2. Then go to Network on the 3rd row
    3. Make sure the padlock is unlocked (bottom left) with your admin password
    4. Choose 'Automatic' next to 'Location' at the top.
    5. Choose 'Edit Locations'
    6. Then click the + button, and create a new one called home/test/somethingorother
    7. Click Done -> Save and wait a few seconds
    8. You may have to reconnect to your Wi Fi network etc.
If you have a USB modem, the above steps will most likely remove its config from the Network preferences. As I said, its reversable (just change location back to automatic)
    Have fun

  • "Could Not Open the Communication Device"  ???

I use a dial up connection. Everytime I try to connect to the internet, after it dials a message box pops up that says "Could Not Open the Communication Device". Has anyone else had this problem? And how do I fix it?
    Please help me.

I found this in Mac Help:
If you haven't entered your network settings, open Network preferences, choose your modem port (internal or external) from the Show pop-up menu, and enter the settings provided by your ISP, such as the access phone number, your user name, and your password.
You can also use the Network Setup Assistant to help you enter network settings. Click "Assist me" in the Network pane of System Preferences and follow the onscreen instructions.
Also verify that the number you are dialing is correct.
    Try this too.
Some ISPs may require a PPP connection terminal script to connect to the Internet using a modem. If it is required, contact your ISP for the terminal script
To use a PPP connection terminal script follow these steps:
In the Finder, navigate to the Library folder on your startup disk.
If the Library folder does not contain a Terminal Scripts folder, you will need to create it. Choose File menu > New Folder, and name the new folder "Terminal Scripts."
Copy the terminal script file from your ISP to the Terminal Scripts folder.
To activate the terminal script, choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
Click Network and choose your modem port (internal or external) from the Show pop-up menu.
Select the PPP tab and click the PPP Options button.
Choose your connection script from the Terminal Script pop-up.
Click OK and then click Apply Now.
If the Terminal Script pop-up menu is dimmed, then the script is not being recognized. Check that the script is valid, and it is installed in the correct location.

  • Getting "Internet Connect Could not open the communication device"

I am getting a pop up showing "Internet Connect - Could not open the communication device."
Why is this? I have never got it before and after awhile my internet works just fine. I am trying to understand why it's popping up. The wireless networks I connect to are always working fine but my computer is just now giving me this pop up.
    Please help. Thank you.
    -Mike

you could try moving either file one at a time, don't delete them though
if moving the files and restarting does not fix the problem you can always put them back to the original location, it's just settings files
possibly you'd need to setup your network prefernces again
also, in System Preferences, click on Accounts pane, then your user name (you may need a password for that)
on the right side of the Accounts window there is "Login Items" tab, see if anything shows up in login items
as a guess, machine tries to connect by looking for your cell phone to use as a modem or something
maybe check Network preference pane, see what shows up in Bluetooth

  • "The selected communication device does not exist"

Whenever I log on (or come out of sleeping), I get a prompt box from Internet Connnect that says "The selected communication device does not exist. Please verify your setting and try again". I think this started to happen when I stopped using a USB modem to access the internet. Recently I was again using a (different) USB modem, and when I stopped (I now have a wireless router), I now get TWO of the above alerts!
To be clear - I have no problem accessing and using the internet with the wirelss router I am using.
Is there a way of deleting historical communication devices I no longer use from Internet Connect that might stop this from happening?
    Thanks in advance.
    G4 iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hello Dunstan,
I wonder if this might have something to do with Location and Network settings.
I'd go to System Preferences/Network and, choosing the location that you are using, select the "modem" tab. On the presumption that, because you are now using wireless router and that your computer is no longer using its built-in modem, I'd delete all settings under "modem".
Then I'd open Internet Connect and see what crops up when you click on the Modem tab. It should be blank. If it is not, I'd close Intertet Connect, then go to My User Folder/Library/Preferences, and there move the following file to the Desktop: com.apple.internetconnect.plist. Open Internet Connect again.
There are other things that can be done, especially in the Locations settings. However, I'd try the above first.
    Best of luck,
    Martin
