Communication error in BEx 7.0
Hi all,
We use the BI 7.0 for a week (SP 14). In the BEx Analyzer (SAPGUI 6.40 SP 25, BI Add-on 7.0, SP1401, Revision 801) an error window came up quite often saying that severe error happened and the program need to be closed, detail in the system log. Then the query/workbook closed and the user has to logon again.
In the system log we can see the followings.
R4 9 Communication error, CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 223
R5 A > Conversation ID: 48065065
R6 4 > CPI-C function: CMSEND(SAP)
Q0 I Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10054)
S2 3 Connection to CPI-C client 606 was closed
S7 4 > Partner LU name:
S0 R > Host: 10.1.101.31
S0 I > Partner TP Name: BEXANALY
We don't have any network problem, the error happen just since the upgrade.
Does anyone have any idea how to avoid this error?
Thanks,
Gabor

No, answer, but som ekind of soultion. Changing the gw/cpic_timeout and other gateway-related profile paramters the problem doesn't arise so often.
We had the following parameters:
gw/cpic_timeout 100
gw/max_sys 1000
gw/max_overflow_size 100000000
gw/conn_disconnect 2700
gw/max_conn 2000
gw/so_keepalive 1
Note, that the BI 7.0 BeX require huge amount of mem and powerfull CPU on the frontend side, as well. This also helps.

Bex Web Application Designer issue: portal communication error
hi experts,
I am working with Bex Web Application Designer in BI7. we are using SP9. When i try to use the Web template its giving below error.
The Requested operation could not be performed due to portal communication error.
its message class is RSBOPLAP and message number is 018 and description is Java System error: An unknown error occured During portal communication.
when i double click the below error details given.
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the BI components on the SAP J2EE Engine.
System Response
Procedure
Contact your system administrator to have the error analyzed in detail.
Procedure for System Administration
Start the Visual Administrator, log on to the SAP J2EE Engine and choose "<J2EE_SID>" ->"Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Viewer".
The file "defaultTrace.trc" includes detailed information about the error that occurred. In Windows, you can find this file in the Log Viewer under "Cluster <computer name>" -> "Server <server number>" -> "<drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server<NUMBER>\log". ". In Unix, the file is located under "/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/server<NUMBER>/log".
If the file does not include enough detail about the error, you can increase the log level to obtain more information. To do this, choose "<J2EE_SID>" -> "Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Configurator". On the "Locations" tab page, choose "com" -> "sap" -> "ip" -> "bi" -> "webapplications". Using the selection list on the right side of the screen, you can increase the log level, whereby "DEBUG" represents the log level with the most information. You can save your settings by choosing the "Save" icon. The change to the log level is active immediately. Once you have successfully analyzed the error, you should set the log level back to its default value using the appropriate pushbutton; continuous writing to the log file negatively affects the overall performance of the system.
please give solutions to resolve the issue.

vadlamudihi shambhu,
thanks for the reply, yes its related to basis but they are unable to trace it out. is SP9 support Bex Report Designer and Bex WAD??

Java Communication error:Error while opening an RFC connection
Hi,
I am getting Java Communication error:Error while opening an RFC connection when i try to run a query from Bex analyser.
please let me know how to resolve this
Thanks
Bala DuvvuriThis error usually comes when the java stack is not upgraded.
when you upgrade yourABAP stack, simultaneously you have to upgrade the java stack also.
Please co-ordinate with your basis team to inform EP team to upgrade the java stack when basis team do ABAP stack upgrade.
Hope this would help you. -

Thanks very much.
GayleHi
Implement this note first
Note 1086904 - BW 7.0 BEx: Transactions RRMX/RRMXP
in case if nottting works
Run the Same query in RSRT transaction code , see if you get the same error.
if you get the same error.
Go to RSRT give the query name and Generate the query (using generate button in RSRT)
hope this helps

Java communication error - RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist
Hello,
We are facing problem when sending reports(BEx Quert) through broadcasting to the users. We are getting the error "Java communication error RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist" in the Log Display (Tcode: RSRD_ADMIN).
In the broadcasting setting, if we select variable values in the tab "General Precalculation" then we can able to send the report to user, instead of selecting variable values, if we use the option "User Specific" check box in the tab Receipient(s) (which will take selection from the role authorizations defined in the respective user roles), then we are getting the above error.
Recently we have upgraded suppor package, please find the system details below
P_BASIS - SAPKB70025
PI_BASIS - SAPKIPYM12
SAP_BW - SAPKW70027
Java - Support Package 25
We didn't change any roles and authorizations recently, just upgraded to latest SP. Can anyone suggest if any steps or checks need to be perfomed after applying these SP or missing anything?
Thanks in advance
Regards,

Java Communication Error - WAD
Hi
I get a 'Java Communication Error - Error when opening RFC Connection' when I save or try to execute my web template.
Any help how to fix this problem...Summary
Symptom
You are using SAP Netweaver 2004s Web Application Designer.
An operation that you want to perform is answered by a popup saying:
"Error during RFC communication (subrc = ...)", followed by the a certain
function name and in most cases an information that the portal or java
communication has failed. The message usually has the message class
RSBOLAP, numbers are 15, 17, 18.
This may occur during an operation like Save Template, Load Template,
Validate Template on Server, Load Reusable Web Item, Save Reusable Web
Item, Get Valuehelp, Execute Template in Portal, Publish Template to...,
Download of Metadata, and others.
All of these operations use functionality from the Java Server in some way
or the other, so they require a valid connection.
Function modules that may be mentioned in the error message (the list is
not complete) are:
RZX2_BTMP_SET, RZX2_BTMP_GET, RZX2_BITM_SET, RZX2_BITM_GET,
RSWAD_WEBPUB_CALL_SERVICE, RZX2_MIG3X70_DATA_GET, RSWAD_METADATA_GET,
RSWAD_TEMPLATE_SERVICES, RSWAD_PF_WEBPUBGETVH, ...
This note also applies if you for example change a Web Template, save it,
and the changes do not seem to be reflected when executing the Template
again.

Cause and Prerequisites
The Web Application Designer needs an active and valid Portal connection
for most of its operations. It can not be used without being connected to a
BI backend system (Netweaver BI Server).
Additionally, the connectivity Java->ABAP and ABAP->Java has to work for
the user currently logged on.
The usual communication flow is like this:
1. The frontend calls for a service on the Netweaver Server.
2. The call first meets the ABAP server.
3. The call is processed in the ABAP server as far as possible, and then
(if necessary) forwarded to the Java server.
4. The Java server processes the call as far as possible, and if
necessary calls another service functionality on the ABAP server.
5. The result is sent back on exactly the same way that it has arrived

RFC-error messages in Web Application Designer 2004s
(in the most complex scenario: ABAP back to Java, then back to ABAP,
and then back to the frontend).
So if either the call from ABAP to Java fails, or the later call Java back
to ABAP does not work, an RFC-error occurs, leading to the error message in
the frontend.
Solution
This is not an error in the Web Application Designer.
When such an RFC-connection error occurs, the call from the Web Application
Designer frontend to the backend has not worked or not received a result.
In most cases, this means that the requested operation could not be
performed.
It may be that only the current call has failed, while the connectivity in
general is set up correctly. This may be for example, if the maximum number
of concurrent connections for the Portal is reached at the moment.
For that reason, please wait a few moments or minutes, and try again to see
whether the operation can be performed then.
In most cases, however, the connectivity is not properly configured, so the
call will not return a result also during the second and all following
tries.
In that case please ask your system administrator to set up the ABAP->JAVA
and JAVA->ABAP connectivity in a valid way (at least for your user...).
Please use note 888687 and 917950 (and their related notes) for the task.
If you do not succeed, please make sure to provide all the information
requested in these notes in your message. Otherwise an efficient message
processing is not possible, postponing the solution unnecessarily.

PeterHi Peter,
there is an pretty old note about a similar error ([CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 223|https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=512272&_NLANG=EN]). It was related to a BEX Patch. May be you should raise a note at the service market place for your issue.

A communication error has occurred while invoking commands in SharePoint host process
Hi All,
I am using Virtual box to connect to Sharepoint 2013 VPC. Due to an unexpected sutdown of my machine the VPC got some issue. Now I restored it using my bak up file. But after this when I deploy my sharepoint 2013 farm solution Iam getting the following error.
Error occurred in deployment step 'Recycle IIS Application Pool': A communication error has occurred while invoking commands in SharePoint host process: The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature
session shutdown or an internal server error.
What could be the issue? Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance...

Nimisha
[email protected]Hi Nimisha,
Seems that the original issue of communication error has been solved, for this new issue, it is recommended that you open a new thread which can make others easier
to focus on one issue in one single thread.

Printer communication error and cannot add a new printer
I was happily using my Epson Artisan 810 printer this morning, connected wirelessly to my iMac. All of a sudden I cannot print, get "Communication Error". Checked Epson's website, no luck there. Re-checked my wireless settings on the printer itself and re-confirmed them, it will print test pages from the printer, but still not communicating with the iMac. I thought that removing the printer and then adding it back in might help, but now I cannot add any printer at all.
I resorted to my MacBook Pro, and now have the same problem with this as well.
Any ideas please? What else can I check. My internet and so on are fine. The printer itself shows the wireless icon and says the reception is excellent on the printout it produced.
Thanks so much!
L.It would be unusual for only Bonjour to stop working in the printer. The more likely is that the printer is set to a different network subnet to that for your Mac or, as you mentioned, something like a firewall is blocking it.
The IP addressing is the most common cause. If there is a process to view or print the network settings for the Epson, then this will show what IP address range it has, which should be the same as your Mac. With the IP address, there will be four sets of numbers. For a typical home network, the first three sets are known as the IP subnet, while the last set is the network address. For example, a device with an IP address of 10.0.1.5, has an IP subnet of 10.0.1 and a network address of 5. For your Mac to 'see' the printer, both devices would need the same IP subnet, while having a different network address. So if you can check what IP address the Epson has, you may find it is using a different IP subnet to your Mac. -
Ichat won't let me see others "communication error"

Back-end communication error for r/3 parameter search
Hello everyone,
Have been facing this problem for sometime now. When i was clicking on <b>'binoculars/search'</b> find to check for account assignment on web gui,i was getting this error "display not possible...inconsistency in input help" error.
I did configuration setting in 'define back-end' system(defined the last column of rfc destination), and the error disappeared and is working fine in sandbox.
Now when i do the same in development system,'inconsistency' error no longer pops up but another one pops up saying <b>"error while communicating with the back-end system..inform system admin."</b>
Just to let you all know,<u><i><b>i am able to create back-end documents</b></i></u>...it is just when i am trying to use "binoculars/find" in account assignment...the 'backend communication error pops up.
I have tried everything possible..checked all attributes..everything is fine.
Can someone assist me?I must be missing something very simple...plz suggest.
Full points guaranteed:))!!!

Are you certain the RFC destination you have defined for search helps has proper authorizations? See OSS note 656633 - <a href="https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=012003146900000120122003">OSS 656633</a>

Please help me to solve this problem.
ThanksHi mhkhandaker,
Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
In order to fix this issue, I advise you to perform a soft reset on your phone: type *#7780#. Default lock code is 12345. If the issue persists, perform a hard reset. First of all, back up your data using Nokia Suite (Tools > Back up). Once your data is fully backed up, type *#7370# on the keypad.
Alternatively, you may also check for updates on Nokia Suite (by going to Tools > Updates).
Then open the e-mail app again.
Let us know how you get on and feel free to post any other questions you may have.
