Communication infotype in ESS

Hi Experts,
I want to call IT 105 subtype 0010 mail id. (which has time constraint 2). When i add this in personal data, i have option to create/change/display. Now my requirement is that this should be only in display mode. I have controlled that thro EP and now its only in display mode. But a New button always appears at top " Mail ID". Is ther any way to remove this.
FYI: when i config in ECC - personal profile, the system pops up saying " New button always available on overview screen". This is mandate if infotype time constraint is 3. If i change the time constraint to 2, it is throwing error.
Pls guide.

When we see communication details in ESS under who's who option, system is displaying Building Number and Room number. From which Infotype in SAP R/3 this information is being picked up ??

Hi Vidhya,
These details are picked up from SU01 - User master.
You need to update them using the Tcode SU01 and check for the changes.Give your ESS user id through which you login and click change. Check the Address tab and you will find the "Department", "Room Number", "Floor", "Building" here. Update the values here.
Generally SU01 authorization is not given for all users. So if Authorization is not there, get help from your BASIS team.

Error while editing 0585&0586 Infotypes in ess

Hi Folks,
I am getting an error while editing the 0585&0586 infotypes in ess.
When i select the field edit it shows me the record with correct dates (Financial year dates) and when i start edidting the amounts and saving the data it was taking the current date as start date and throws an error saying
Begin date and End date for the infotype must match financial year dates.
A record already exists for the current financial year.
Please help in this regard.

If you want to edit the Info types -0585&0586.The control reocrd and the info type start period should be in the same fincial year.

Communication infotype 105 automatically limited by BAPI_USER_CLONE

Hello colleagues,
We have a central system for users management. When we delete users, the changes are replicated to the rest of the systems with ALE using a distribution model with message type USERCLONE. The IDOCs are processed by BAPI_USER_CLONE. We realized that when a user is deleted, communication infotype 105 is automatically limited for the related employee. We would like to know if there is a way to keep infotype 0105 unchanged.

copy BAPI_USER_CLONE, implement your own logic and use it to import the IDocs.

the client want to display some infotypes (like Communciation or Education) in Personal Administration in ESS portal. We are using ERP 2005 and EP 7 ESS 1.0
I read your reply in SDN but couldnt understand properly as i am new in SAP Could you please tell me the steps involved. Is it difficult to add new infotype in ESS portal. Could you please explain in detail. Please email to my mail id at [email protected]
They were talking about RFC which is totally new to me. Do I have to go through that procedure like creating Functional Module and the connect to portal?

Creation of new position and communication infotype

Hi,
can anybody tell me how can i create new position
and how can i assign communication infotype to position.

There are various ways to create position.
PO13, PP01, PPOSE...go throug SAP Help and U can find them.
Then assign this position to an employee in PA30.
Then assign the 105 to the employee in PA30.
Hence the position is linked to position.
These are very basic things and can be found in SAP Help.
Is there any specific things U require?Putting up the exact problem will help me to give U a proper solution rather than saying U somethign which U can easily get from Our best friend (Google).

User Id long field not displayed in communication infotype overview screen

System: SAP 4.7
After HRSP upgrade, in communication infotype overview screen (Program MP010500 and Screen 3000), the user id long field (technical field USRID_LONG) is not displayed for email subtype 0010 and CELL.
For subtype 0001, the field (USRID) is still is visible.
Any help is appreciated.

How to view infotype in ESS?

We are using SAP EP 6.0,my SAP ERP ESS 60.2. I would like to know how to get the infotype view in ESS. We would like to know how to get the view of a custom infotype in the personnel information section of ESS. We have created a transactional iview(PA20)and we would like to see only the infotype screen 2000 view instead of PA20 initial screen.
Our requirement is that, we should only be able to get the infotype details <b>of the employee who has logged in</b> and not any other employees.

Hi Mahesh,
GO to PFCG transaction and look for SAP ESS role in R/3. Add the custom infotype no in the role.
For viewing only the particular user data in the portal, you have to maintain user mapping.
For this logon to portal and go to user administration -> Usermapping. Enter the portal user in the search box and choose user from the dropdown list and select go. The user is displayed. After this select the user and choose the R/3 system from the dropdown list and enter the ESS user name and password in the input box provided and save data.
Now when you logon with the portal user you will be able to view only the mapped user data alone and not other pernr details.

Communication Infotype

Hello All,
I recently joined in phase two of an HR implementation for a client of ours. I am tasked with the implementation and configuration of XSS.
I am facing an issue concerning creating a relationship between a user and an employee. Apparently the SY_UNAME subtype has been changed to subtype 0004 instead of the standard 0001. Hence, upon checking transaction T-Code HRUSER, the user I connected to an employee does not appear in the search for assignments of employees to existing users.
Also, upon selecting a service from ESS in the portal, I am getting the following error:
User ESS_USER1 does not exist in this period
Is there anyway to fix this?

To connect an ESS user to an employee number you need to make a unique assignment in the PERNRs infotype 1015 subtype 1
to a system user
This is the delivered business logic of ESS and it may be very difficult to accomodate variations and modifications

It would be great if you can guide me on a way to include a 'Z' infotype as a link in ESS.

Maintaining Infotype 0655 in ESS

I wanted to findout the possibilities of maintaining the Infotype ''0655 - ESS Settings Remuneration Statement'' through ESS, to give an option to the employee to logon to ESS and OPT-OUT the paper statement.
- Do we have this functionality in ESS to pull the Infotype 0655 screen and have the interface with the infotype
- If not, what is the possibility of designing the screen in ESS and have the interface with the infotype ?
- Also please suggest me if there are any best process to handle this. Since, we want to do this through portal, we don't want any manual work on maintaining this infotype.

Error while creating ESS user in HRUSER

Dear all,
We are trying to implement ESS for one of our Client.Here we need to connect to the sandbox where all the HR Data is existing.When we create a ESS User and assign him to the Emoloyee we are getting the following error:
   *Error occurred when creating relationship for user P1126 to employee
00001126
     Message no. PWWW105
Diagnosis
     A user has been generated for an employee, but could not be assigned
     the employee (the "Communication" infotype in HR master data).
Procedure
     Please create the appropriate assignment manually in HR master data.*
We have tried of adding it manually by creating the Communication type.BUt No Luck
