Communication Package in portals

hi,
There is a Business Package Communication V50.4 for EP5.0. Its out of maintenance now for EP6.0.
Is there any other package currently available for EP6.0 which does the same function as Communication Package?
Has anyone implemented the same communication package in EP6.0?

please turn off the Accessibility option in your portal personalization options (upper right corner, Personalize -> User Profile -> Activate Accessibility Features:
(Screen reader required) -> turn it off.
Does it work now as expected ?

I didn't find the way to sumit bug for community packages, so I put it here. Sorry if I came to the wrong place.
The package gtk-kde4 should add provides=gtk-qt-engine, so that it can replace gtk-qt-engine if you want (many packages depends on gtk-qt-engine).

The proper place to submit a bug in an AUR package is the AUR page for that package itself, in that case:

If it is a restricted shipment you will have problems downloading this business package.
Instead you can download this from the Marketplace.
You can give
Business Package for mySAP CRM - Business Productivity Pack 60.1
in the search option of Service Market Place

Orphaned [community] packages

I was rummaging around AUR for orphaned packages (as one does on a sunday afternoon...), and noticed there are a few orphaned packages in [community]. I thought that one of the criteria for a package being in [community] was that it was maintained by a TU. Going by this, shouldn't such packages be moved back to unsupported until a TU adopts them?

WillySilly's packages have not been orphaned yet as we're still in the process of getting some of them adopted by the remaining TU. The current orphaned packages were orphaned because the TU left or didn't had the time/interest to maintain them anymore. The packages remains in the community repo because users expect that packages they install from community will be updated/fixed when they do their regular 'pacman -Syu'. Some packages don't need a lot of maintenance and they can be adopted later on. However, in the past, some community packages were moved back to unsupported and someone mentionned that perhaps some of willysilly's packages could be moved back to unsupported. If you're interested in an orphaned community package, you could always bring it up on the TUR ML and it could be moved back in unsupported if no TU is interested in it.

No way to view changes with PKGBUILD for community packages

I noticed that you can't view PKGBUILD changes for new community packages. I thought we move community to svn so it should be viewable.

Just my 2 cents.

Everything that is need for the transition is still a work in progress... This a known issues. As a workaround you can use ABS or check out the SVN for the packages you are interested in.

Unable to upload Transport Package in portal

Previously i have transported .epa file(Trnasport Package) from dev to acc, it worked fine there.now when iam trying to upload the same in qas portal its getting error like "could not upload file" .can any one assist me with the solution

Please check the transport_logger trace (logs/transport.log) to troubleshoot transport problems.
Set the loglevels to analyze the transport problems debug in the pcdstartup.properties file for the categories pcd.tracelevel.basictransport and pcd.tracelevel.GI.Transport

Please examine this file for pure UI problems like the editor does not load or an object cannot be added to a transport package. pcd_admin_tools_logger (logs/pcdadmintools.log)

We have a newly installed Portal 7.3 without any Business Packages installed in it.
My Questions are,
1. If i go with same backend ECC 6 Ehp 4 with Portal 7.3, than what are all the BP's that i have to deploy?
2. Can i go with same Business packages   those i am using currently with Portal 7.01?
3. How to migrate my ESS and MSS apps (customized apps NWDI )from Portal 7.01 to 7.3
4. in future if we upgarde our backend to EHP 5 than what happens to WD java Application. i come to know that ESS application are totally built on WD ABAP for EHP5
Please help me out to determine the correct Business packages for my requirement.

BP's depends upon what all functionality you want to use. e.g If you are using ESS/MSS then you need to deploy BP's for ESS/MSS.

You should install latest version of BP's on NW 7.3 like for ESS/MSS latest version is 1.51.

You need to migrate all these customization manually as PAR files are not more supported for NW 7.3.

It depends upon you. If you want to use ESS/MSS for web dynpro ABAP then you need to install BP of ESS for web dynpro ABAP but if you don't want to use web dynpro then you can use same way as you are doing currently.

Business Packages in Portal

Hi,
How can we find out what applications are deployed in the portal?
By applciations we want to know what Business packages are installed since the customer applications are already known to us.
We can see the list of deployed applications in SDM but how can we differentiate the business packages or other applications, that do not come with standard portal installation, from the standard ones.

You can find the deatils abt all the BPs installed in the portal from the following URL: http://<host name>:<port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo
The Business Package will start with Component Name BP_*.
Inside the portal you can find the installed components Under Portal Content -> Content Provide by SAP.

Help! How to get the Java Communication Package work in JDK1.3.1?

I downloaded a Java Communications API Win32 ver 2.0 from java.sun.com, and try to use it to do some programming to communication ports with JDK1.3.1.
I failed. When I tested with the samples (BlackBox, SimpleRead) coming with the javax.comm. It showed "no serial port found", something like that. I check the installation Instructions of the comm. package, it only described the installation under JDK1.1 and the pre-release version of JDK1.2. (and the installation of the same package in JDK1.1 and JDK1.2 are totally different.)I tried the specification with my JDK1.3, but it doesn't work.
Who knows how to install the Javax.comm package in JDK1.3.1? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks a lot.

This comes straight out of the FAQ that you got with your download:
Q: My application does not find any ports when it enumerates available ports.
Q: BlackBox gives me a message that says "No serial ports found!"
A: In order for the Java communications API to find ports the file
javax.comm.properties must be in the correct place. The preferred location
is in <jdk>/lib. See the installation instructions for alternate locations
and further information.
Installation is very simple. Comm is a standard extension, so copy comm.jar to %JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext
This is all in the docs....

Enhancemente Package e Portal

Prezado(a),
Ativei a business function FIN_REP_SIMPL_2 (Reporting Financials 2) e na documentação diz que alguns relatórios ficarão disponíveis em um portal. A documentação não cita mais nada a não ser a necessidade de ter o NetWeaver instalado (aqui na Petrobras está instalado). Gostaria de saber se algum de vocês teriam alguma informação adicional (documentação, site, etc.) relativo a essa business function, principalmente no que diz a respeito a PORTAL, pois o documento é palpérrimo no que diz ao "depois que a business function foi ativada"?

You can remove the BP, Log on onto the portal as administrator
Go to Content Administration > Portal Content
Open the folder Portal Content > Content administrator-> portal content.
and also remove PCD objects and any par files.

ICSS - Internet Customer Self Service.Role customer has related ivews.That doesn't require IC webclient.
If you need interaction center ie customer support or call center there are two roles available for that.
Interaction center agen and interaction center administrator.

MDM iView problem from Business Package in Portals SR1

Hi,
I installed MDM Business Package 3.0 in Enterprise Portals 6.0 SR1. When i execute the iView in Portals, its asking me to download the security file. When i change the iView property from WebGUi to WinGui, its working properly.
Did anyone faced the same problem.
