Communication problem with agilent 34401a

Hi all,
I' m using Labview 8.2 and visa 4.2.
I 've connected my agilent 34401a and it is recognized, I see it in agilent connection expert and manage to communicate with it. (query *IDN?)
But I get a problem when I want to use the control_mode vi. (remote or local).
the error is displayed just after the Visa Read function (Vi below)
I don't understand why. I use the RS 232 connection and it is correctly configured in the devices manager.
Anyone can help me ?
Thanks,
Romain

Sorry,
I've forgotten the Vi.
Now it's OK
Thanks

  • When trying to work with Agilent 34401A multimeter (serial RS-232 connection), HP34401A Getting Started.vi gives always the message: "Error 1073807369 occurred at Old VISA Open ".

Baud rate and parity are set correctly, RS-232 cable is also connected correctly. My QuickBasic program has no problems to read and write to the Multimeter. It is obviously a software problem: the same error is persistent if I disconnect RS-232 cable.
I downloaded NI-VISA 2.6 for Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP frorm digital.ni.com and installed it. But it did not help.
    Thank you in advance

  • Communication problem with proxy server

We have establish the configuration of an iPad to access the enterprise net, but when trying to access any webpage we get the next message: Safari can not open the page. Error:"There is a communication problem with proxy web server (HTTP)"
The access has no problems with other movile devices.
    Ahy help?

    Hi,
I am not sure whether you have already solved the problem or not....
Do the following to deploy MobileBIService.war file on tomcat
    1.Stop Tomcat Web application server.
2.Copy the file, MobileBIService.war from [Install directory]\Mobile 14\Client to the Tomcat's "Webapps" directory.
    In my case, I copied the MobileBIService.war from C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Mobile14\Client to C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps. ( I used BO 4.0 SP02)
    3.     Start Tomcat.
Restarting Tomcat would automatically deploy war file as a Web App
One folder u201CMobileBiServiceu201D will appear in webapps folder when MobileBIService.war is deployed successfully.
    Hope it helps.

  • Communication problem with printer when using Parallels

OK, apologies if this has been asked elsewhere but I've been trawling the forum for an hour and have yet to find the exact problem that I'm having!
First of all, I'm a recent convert to Mac (hurrah I hear you all cry), secondly, I've set up Parallels to deal with some PC left-overs, thirdly, I've tried to use my old Dell printer and realised Dell doesn't support Macs (or not my AIO 922 anyway).
So, I thought I'd get round this by installing the drivers for the printer on the Windows partition, which all went well until I actually tried to print something... although the printer is visible and 'on-line', I get the box informing me there's a communation problem with the printer and computer.
It's beginning to wind me up so any info/advice would be greatly appreciated

This is either a Windows or a Parallels problem. For Parallels go to http://forum.parallels.com. For Windows go to the support forums at Microsoft.
There is no support for either product at these Discussions.

  • Communication problem with Adobe 9.0 and HP Printer when I scan

I'm having a problem getting a .pdf file to come up when I scan from a HP 5610 All-in-one printer. Have uninstalled and reinstalled HP software three times but when I scan and want a pdf file it won't communicate with Adobe 9.0 reader for some reason. Is there a setting in Adobe reader that's a problem?
    Thanks.

Thanks...found out that an HP5610xi All-in-One will not completely communicate with Adobe 9.0   Had to go to Adobe 6.0

  • Communication Problem with the second battery

    Hello,
In Lenovo Solution Center it says that there is communiction problem with the second battery. I already had this problem some months ago, back then it didn't charge the second battery. I got a new one and it worked again. Now it says the same thing "communication problem", but i can charge the battery and I also can't find any other sign of something not working. But still- it seems weird that the program tells me something is wrong. Can somebody help me?
    Thanks Lina

    Hi, Lina
What is the machine type and model of your computer? Also, what operating system are you running?
    Thanks in advance,

  • COMMUNICATION PROBLEM WITH SCANNER TO COMPUTER OF DESKJET 3050 j610

WHEN i TRY TO SCAN USING MY DESKJET 3050 j610 A MESSAGE SHOWS 'COMMUNICATION  PROBLEM NOT CONNECTED THEREFORE i AM NOT ABLE TO SCAN.
i HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM OVER 8 HOURS AND I' M GETTING SICK. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AVAILABLE ON THE SUPPORT PROGRAMS INCLUDING 'PAINT' AND NOTHING WORKS.
I NEED A ANSWER OR I;LL THROW THIS THING OUT

I have the same problem here, i have two PC's both running Windows 7 but only one works printing and scanning wirelessly.
On the PC running Windows 7 32bit wireless printing and scanning works great.
On the PC running windows 7 64bit only wireless printing works. Havent found a solution, but just a work around. Here it is......
    1. Got to you printer and hit the Wireless button to find the IP address your router gave it.
    2. Open up your Internet browser and input the IP address.
and...BAM!!!       if it worked it should take you to the Deskjet 3050 All-in-One J610a Embedded Web Server page and from there you can scan with what looks like all the original options if the thing was working to begin with and save to your PC.

  • Communication problem with FP-2000 and Labview 7.1

I am using the FP-2000, DO-403 and TC-120 modules with Labview 7.1, being run on a host computer via an ethernet connection.  The setup has operated flawlessly for ~2 years; recently, I have noticed that while a VI is running on my PC, connection to the FP module ceases.  There is no pop-up "connection error" in my VI, and the all the power and status LEDs on the FP modules are normal.  I can still interact with the VI on the front panel while it is running, but nothing is passed to the FP module.  I have tried communicating with MAX when this occurs and receive a "no connection" message.  Is there a simple solution here, such as rebooting the FP module?  Or is it time to invest in new hardware?
    Justin

I am having a very similar problem with my cFP-1804 and Labview 7.0.  I have no problem initiating communication over ethernet, and the vi will run perfectly for hours or even days.  Inevitably, however, at some point there is no longer communication with the cFP-1804.  Data is no longer being passed either to or from the cFP-1804, and MAX will show that the device is not connected.  I also will not see any pop-up error message that says the connection has been lost, either from Windows or from Labview.  The vi will just continue to run as if nothing has happened.  Turning the power to the cFP-1804 off and then on will always resolve this problem.  Since I am using the cFP-1804 primarily for data logging, however, this behavior is particularly problematic as the system will record nothing but zeroes until I discover that the communication has been severed and perform the manual power cycling.
I have been unable thus far to determine the cause of this problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Derrick

  • Communication Problem with Nomad Explo

    Hi All!
I have a pretty great Problem with my Creative Zen Touch I bought just one month ago:
When I connect it to the Computer to store or read File Data, the connection slows down to a minimum and when I try to drop something or just open a folder, the Nomad Explorer does not react anymore. So I'm not able now to retrieve my important backu
    ps.
I guess it could be a worse and non-readable storaged file that cause the problem, because a few weeks ago there were no problems. But I don't know how to find and clear this problem file, if there is one. Another friend guessed it the built-in HDD could me fragmented, but I don't think I have coused such data traffic in one month. So my Question is: Can I format or defrag the HDD? Or maybe there is an alternati've Explorer so I don't have to use the Nomad Explorer? Or has the Nomad a kind of "Debug Modus" to ignore or delete wrong files? I would be gradeful for any help, thanks, Alexander (7, Germany)
Technical Spec. of the Computers I tried to connect to:
    AMD Athlon XP 00Mhz
    256MB RAM
    Windows 2000 Professional
    USB 2.0
(worked for a while, about two weeks. then the problem appears!)
    AMD Athlon64 3200+
    024 MB RAM
Windows XP Professional and Windows XP 64-Bit Edition
    USB 2.0
    Intel Celeron 200MHz (Laptop)
    28 MB RAM
    Windows 2000 Professional
    USB .
    Intel Pentium 4 3200Mhz
    024 MB RAM
    Windows XP Professional
    USB 2.0
The Creative Zen Touch was already on the newest Firmware when I byed it. On all computers was used the Creative Nomad Explorer, installed from the CD or downloaded from Internet (Creative.com Support).

Hum.. Yep, thanks. Yesterday I read the post about how to access the rescue mode. checking and clearing up the HDD doesn't work, but after formatting it seems to work normally again, after losing all the backups I had... After all, I'm glad I don't have to send back the Zen to Creative. And thanx they set such a nice recovery mode into the ground system of the player =)
Thanks for Help. Now Admins can clear my Account, I wo'nt use it anymore

  • Communication problem with intel 80C196

I have doubts on how i should start to communicate/ configure my computer with an old intel 80C196 microprocessor through serial RS232. Please advice.

    Hi Leslie,
First you need to determine the cabling. Check the microP's documentation for the pinout of it's serial port. In the simplest case, without any handshaking, you only need 3 lines: Rx, Tx and GND.
Once you have the cabling you need to know how the serial port of the microP is configured. I'm not familiar with these devices, but I assume that the serial port on the micro is configured by the firmware. In any case, check the documentation of the microP to determine the serial port setting or how to configure them. You need to look for:
    Baud Rate.
    Number of data bits.
    Parity (if any)
    Number of stop bits.
    Handshaking.
The serial port setting on the PC should be the same as the setting on the microP.

  • Communication problem with network printer

I have a Lexmark X9350 all-in-one printer. It has a built in wireless card and I am trying to print to it from my Powerbook G4. I have an airport extreme network setup in my home, and my PC is able to access the printer just fine. When I installed the printer software on the mac, it recognized the printer on the network and worked at first, but then suddenly couldn't find the printer. When I uninstalled and reinstalled the software it was very strange because when I got to the point where it searches the network for a printer, sometimes the printer shows up, and then if I click to refresh the printer sometimes disappears. It is not an issue with being out of range, because the printer display tells me it has plenty of connection, and as I said the PC can print with no problems. It appears to be something specific with Tiger not being able to consistently detect the printer.

I would look at XP's port configuration for the printer and then try and use the same protocol on the Mac. If XP is showing it as RAW Port 9100, then that is shown as HP jet Direct - Socket on the Mac. The only issue then is whether the OS X driver is available in the Lexmark list. Sometimes the provided OS X driver is only for direct USB connections, so you have to look at using an alternate driver, such as those offered by Gutenprint.

  • Communication problem with Arduino UNO R3

    Hello,
I'm using Labview 2011 to automate a part of the line used to sample's preparation linked to a mass spectrometer. I'm using an Arduino UNO R3 which is linked to valves and I'm supposed to talk to it via numerical signal in order to open or close valves.
This Arduinbo is linked to computer via an extension USB cord (almost 10m) and is detected as a COM Port.
Communication works well when I've just rebooted computer, but when some time have passed the communication seems to degrade and the following errors appear :
    - "Ressource is valid but VISA cannot access to it" when the port COM isn't detected anymore neither by Labview nor by Arduino software wheras Windows can detect it. As advised at this adress (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/936298454061FE5886256C2A0060B321) I executed the first test (desabling of COM port) but not the second one as there is no more Hyperterminal on Windows 7. I dowloaded the equivalent software called Hyperterminal private edition but I don't know the computer control sentences to use to verify if the dialog is of good quality.
    - Error 5002 also appear, but I verified all the possible reasons enumerated at this address and it cannot be that : http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/15AE7F234C5B966886257884006DF1CD
These bugs appears randomly, this can be just after first launch of .vi or two hours later.
Can it be a degradation of numerical signal?
I put in attachment of the email, reports that were send to me during some of these bugs.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Communication problem with SCXI 1000 Chasis

I have followed all instructions on this site...
I have a SCXI1000 chasis, in this I have a 1520 strain guage board connected (via connection kit) to a pci-mio-16e1 DAQ card... I can not auto detect the board and when I manually add the board (in MAX) and then verify I get "Card ** missing in slot *whatever slot I am using* "
    any suggestions??
The problem might be that the SCXI chassis I am using is second hand.... I am worried it is not poweing the card... even though the "on" light is on... Which are the pins that supply power to the card and what levels should they be at (I can simply verify if it works with a multimeter then)
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott

    Scott;
It's sort of hard to verify if the problem is on the chssis or not by probing some lines. Even if you get the power lines working correctly, the SCXI bus might be damage and you will have that same behavior regardless the power lines state.
The best way to troubleshoot that is by either trying another SCXI module that you know for a fact that is working, or to try that module of yours on a SCXI chassis you that is working.
    Hope this helps.

  • Communication problem with JavaDB

    Hi,
I'm trying to work with JavaDB (as was installed with Netbeans 6.1).
When I'm trying to connect the server I get an error "could not listen on port 1527 on host local host".
When I try to create a new data base I get an error "Communication error has been detected. Communication protocol being used: Reply.fill()...".

Something is already using it. Perhaps even the very database you are trying to start. Could be something else though.
