Communication Station fails to connect SAPCRM 2007Server

Hi All,
We got stucked up in the middle of Mobile Client/Mobile Sales Implementation for SAP CRM 2007.
As per the Communication Station installation guide, we have installed Communication Station successfully.
After then we are not able to connect Communication Station to SAP CRM Server or perform post-installation activities as follows:
-> Configuration of Message Transfer Package- I am not able to configure as Installation guide doesn't have sufficient information.
-> Data Synchronization through QMTCONFIG.exe
When we checked QMTConfig.exe, few things are disabled like Unicode Comm.Station and Unicode SAP Destination
And when test the connection here, it is giving error " cannot access Comm Station;ActiveX Component can't create object.
-> Configuration of NET4ABAP
We have configured net4abap and started the service successfully.
-> In DCOMcnfg.exe->ComponentServices->MyComputer->COM+ Applications, SAPMobile Transfer Service is not visible.
We tried registering the service MSGTransfer.dll into COM+ and followed few notes ( 1171595,1071267,1036377,169550) but nothing proved fruitful.
Please if any one can provide the ports that Comm Station,Mobile Client and CRM Server use in this MSA Landscape.
Any ideas / suggestions / pointers to resolve this will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Malay Jena

Hello Ankan,
Thanks for the recommended note.
I tried with that note and also recommendations given there.
But SAP CRM Mobile Transfer Service is not visible in COM+ Applications and even if MTS ( Microsoft Transaction Server )
is not appearing.
For this invisibilty of COM+ Apps i am not able to proceed forward.
The RFC from CRM to Communication Station is working fine and also NET4ABAP configuration as per the guide has started successfully.
I have also installed Mobile Client in the same Comm Station machine.Even if in Mobile client, CONNTRANS and SAP CLIENT Console is not working.
Please help us.

• Unable to connect to Communication Station

Dear All,
We are facing an issue in CRM MSA.
When we are trying to connect to the Communication station via the
Mobile Client Console - Test Adapter connection, we get this error
saying "
Unable to connect to Communication Station
Source: Adapter connection
Suggestions:
Check that network connection to communication station is proper.
Check that the registry entry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\MSA\CRMLaptopAdapter\Host points to
correct communication station.

1.We already have configured the comm station and all the connection
and services are working fine in the Comm station.
2.We are able to successfully ping the comm station from the laptop
which we are running the mobile client console. Both the machines are
in the same domain.
3.The comm station hostname are also properly maintained in the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\MSA\CRMLaptopAdapter\Host file.
Can you please help us out with this problem.
Will surely reward points if there are any solutions.

CommStaion OS
Microsoft have changed the default security policy since Windows 2003
Server SP1 and Windows XP SP2. So additional steps mentioned below are
required for the CommStation to work in case you are using any one of
the operating systems mentioned above.
12. Enabling network COM access.
Please take Start menu-> Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs.
Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
Select Application Server and click Details.
Check the box next to Enable network COM+ access, and then click OK.
Click Next to complete the Windows Components wizard.
Click Finish to close the wizard.
13. Enabling network DTC access.
Please take the Start menu-> Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs.
Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
Select Application Server and click Details.
Check the box next to Enable network DTC access, and then click OK.
Click Next to complete the Windows Components wizard.
Click Finish to close the wizard.
14. Changing the default security policy
Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security
Policy -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> Network Access.
Right click on 'Let Everyone permission apply to anonymous user' and
select Properties.
Click on Enabled
15. A new built-in user group namely 'Distributed COM Users' has been
included since Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 to expedite the
process of adding users to the DCOM computer restriction settings.
Adding the required user or user group that would access the
CommStation to 'Distributed COM Users' would solve the remote
access, launch and activation related issues from the mobile client.
This requires that the user or the user group is on the same domain
as the CommStation. If user from other domains or local clients
access the CommStation, then the following step should be followed.
16. Changing the DCOM Access
Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security
Policy -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> DCOM
DCOM: Machine Access Restrictions in Security Descriptor Definition
Language (SDDL) setting allows you to specify an Access Control List
in two different ways. You can type in the security descriptor in
Security Descriptor Definition Language (SDDL), or you can choose
users and groups and grant or deny them Local Access and Remote
Access permissions. Existence of this policy, overrides, values in
Machine Access Restriction.
Click on the 'Edit Security' button and grant the user 'Everyone'
the privileges 'Local Access' and 'Remote Access'.
DCOM: Machine Launch Restrictions in Security Descriptor Definition
Language (SDDL) is similar to the above settings. Existence of this
policy, overrides, values in Machine Launch Restriction
Click on the 'Edit Security' button and grant the user 'Everyone'
the privileges 'Local Launch', 'Remote Launch', 'Local Activation'
and 'Remote Activation'.

• Remote app on ipod fails to connect to itunes 10

After upgrading to iTunes 10, my remote app on the ipod touch 4G fails to connect. I've reauthorized, which times out most times, but eventually when it works, it only continues to connect to iTunes until I close and restart the program. I've disabled all firewalls and still have the issue. iTunes 10/iPod Touch 4G/iOS 4.1/ancient remote.app do not play well together.
Anyone else unable to get the remote app working reliably with this combination?

Hello all,
I would like to get more details from people who are still having trouble getting Remote 2.0.1 to connect. If you are unable to connect, please email me <[email protected]> with the following information:
- A detailed description of the specific issue you are seeing.
- What OS is on the host computer? (the one with iTunes on it)
- What OS is on the affected iOS device(s)?
- A description of your network topology. Please be as detailed as you can, including hardware and firmware versions, if possible. Also please explain how everything is connected.
- Is the base station running default settings, or do you have any non-standard settings enabled? If so, please elaborate.
- Do you have the built-in firewall enabled on the host computer?
- Do you have any other firewall or Internet protection (anti-virus, etc) installed on the host computer?
- Were you able to connect with versions of Remote prior to 2.0?
- If you have multiple computers, can you get Remote to connect to any of them?
- Does Home Sharing work between computers on your network?
- Do you see any messages in Console (in Applications/Utilities) on the host computer that seem to coincide with the connection failures?
Thanks,
Roy

• On Windows 2012 Terminal Server Outlook fails to connect to Exchange 2013

I have a new install of Windows 2012. I have two physical servers. One is a W2012 std Domain Controller ("DC"). The Second is configured as W2012 HyperV ("HV"). Under HV I have
two VMs. One VM is W2012/Exchange 2013 ("ExchVM) and the other is W2012/Terminal Server ("VMTS"). All systems are behind a firewall appliance. Exchange is working via Outlook and OWA internally and externally. The self
created SSL must be installed manually on external machines since it comes up as an untrusted certificate. Once installed remote outlook works and OWA works. I have configured the terminal server and I am able
to login remotely as various users under my "TS group". The problem is when ever I attempt to open Outlook for the 1st time, it fails to connect to the exchange server. (Open Outlook 2013, click next
on the splash screen, "Yes" Add an Email Account splash screen, click next, Auto Account screen populates NAME and Email Address correctly, click next, Searching for mail server settings..., check on establishing network connection, check on searching
for alias@ domain, then fails the logging on to the mail server) The error reads: "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The
connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." I am connected in RDS from offsite, and from the RD session I can access shared folders on ExchVM and DC. I have
tried have verified the server Exchange server name is correct via "Get=ClientAccessServer" command. I have also tried to use the guid via "Get-Mailbox
ALIAS | fl name, exchangeguid. Keep in mind all desktop users on the network are connecting to Outlook without issue.
I would appreciate any thoughts on solving this issue.

Hi,
According to your workaround, it seems that the Outlook Anywhere configuration in Outlook client is not correct when using the Autodiscover service.
Once you connected to Exchange server by manually settings, please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration tool in external Outlook client to check the autodiscover service:
open Outlook - press CTRL key - right click on the Outlook icon from right bottom corner taskbar - Test Email AutoConfiguration. Put your email address - uncheck use guessmart and secure guessmart authentication - click Test to check your Autodiscover service.
Please check the Log tab and confirm whether the Autodiscover service is connected successfully. Also confirm if the connection issue happens to all external users when they open Outlook for the 1st time. In Exchange server, please make sure
autodiscover.domain.com has been included in your Exchange certificate which is assigned with IIS service.

• Fingerprint reader not working in IE and saying failed to connect to sensor

Hi all,
I bought a Qosmio x500 10t a couple of months back. For the first couple of weeks i had no probs using the fingerprint reader to log in to windows and to log in to websites in Internet exploer.
All of a sudden it would not work on any website stored. The green banner showed accross the top of site and asked to swipe finger but nothing happened when I swiped. I rebooted and it worked again but not for long before failing. This time a reboot didnt work so i deleted my finger prints and websites and started from scratch. That worked for a couple of attempts before probs started again. And on trying to get into Fingerprint utility it says failure to connect to sensor. So, I did a system restore. It worked for a couple of times again and then same probs. So I found the updated utility software, uninstalled the old and put on the new. Same again, worked for a couple of times then failed.
I could not find anything stuck in the registry but to be on the safe side i did a full system clean back to factory setup using backup discs. Hey presto i thought it had worked. Everything going ok for first 24hrs and then same problems start to occur. Only this time it is also prompting me to enroll fingerprints even though i already have. And when i try to get into the utilioty it says failed to read sensor again.
The fingerprint log on to windows always works as long as i dont close the fingerprint utility down before shutting down. If i do exit the utilty i cant reopen it as it just says failed to connect to sensor. And then i have to unistall and reinstall the utility software. Aty the moment it occasionally works on websites stored but most of the time it doesnt do anything.
Please help. Do I need to send laptop back to Toshiba??

Hi,
*I got a solution* for the problem that the fingerprint sensor "suddenly" does not work any more.
When starting the Toshiba Fingerprint Utility, it says "failed to connect to fingerprint sensor".
Is it possible that just before it stopped working there was a new firewall installed, or firewall settings had been changed?
*In my case, the problem was solved by changing my firewall settings* (Windows 7 Firewall Control) to ALLOW all traffic for
the Authentec Fingerprint Sensor Service (AFSS). It is the file "AtService.exe" in C:\Program files
The reason is simple:
The Toshiba Fingerprint utility communicates with the fingerprint sensor service via TCP/IP.
Therefore, any firewall that blocks traffic on the local computer will block the communication.
*After changing my firewall settings, fingerprint sensor works* on my R700 flawlessly now.

• Error sending emails to Internet: Failed to connect. Winsock error code: 10051

Our exchange 2013 CU2 (CAS+MBX, Win2012) was sending emails to Internet using another server (a kerio email server) and outbound internet email was working as expected.
We have now removed the Kerio server, I also removed the kerio_Send_Connector I was using to send emails to internet and I also changed the email domain in Exchange to be authoritative. I created a new Internet send connector with default values, but the same
bad behavior is present.
Our Exchange 2013 receives emails internally and externally with no problems. The problems are sending emails to Internet. I am suspecting something in the firewall but i need to do some more research.
If from the same Exchange server I telnet to an Internet email host:25 I do get the smtp banner but as soon as I start typing HELO/EHLO I get disconnected and errors are logged.
Errors when sending emails to any emails address (this is from an email sent to google, all others are the same):
Remote Server at aspmx3.googlemail.com (74.125.136.26) returned '400 4.4.7 Message delayed'
7/1/14 9:52:44 a. m. - Remote Server at aspmx3.googlemail.com (74.125.136.26) returned '441 4.4.1 Error encountered while communicating with primary target IP address: "Failed to connect. Winsock error code: 10051, Win32 error code: 10051." Attempted
failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. The last endpoint attempted was 74.125.136.26:25'
I cannot find any references from such Winsock error that are related to Exchange 2013.
So far all email is being queued at the Exchange Server 2013. I am afraid to install CU3 and make things worse.
Thanks for your comments.

Just check if the receive connector settings are set to fine
check the send connector properties and see whether it is set to use DNS to route emails through external DNS/Internal DNS or smart host .
Do a telnet to external domain like hotmail, yahoo and see at what transaction you are getting an error
Enable verbose logging, restart the transport service and check if you get the same error in the verbose logs as well
Get in touch with the ISP and see if the port 25 for Outbound SMTP is opened.
YOu can check if SMTP Proxy is enabled in the firewall. If so disable the SMTP proxy in the firewall and check.
Good Luck!!
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question.
That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

• Hyper-V Remote Admin on a Domain - Failed to connect to root\cimv2

I'm trying to configure our Hyper-V server so that a user on our domain has administrative control. Our Hyper-V server is on the domain running 2008 R2 (named SERVER85 below), and the client is on Win 7 Ent x64 (named DEV03 below, username accuraty\jkessel).
In the output below you can see that it appears we might have a problem with this user's access to the WMI path root\CIMv2, but if I pull up the advanced security settings for that node in WMI, I see:
Name: Justin Kessel ([email protected])
Apply to: This namespace and subnamespaces
Permissions allowed: "Enable Account" and "Remote Enable" (no others, no denies).
IMHO, the server, the desktop, and user are all fairly "vanilla" with nothing unusual going on. Maybe one thing worth noting: our Small Business Server 2008 (i.e. domain controller) is running as a VPS on SERVER85, so SERVER85 never boots with the
domain controller on. This hasn't ever caused problems except that the machine always thinks it's firewall should be in the "work" configuration instead of the "domain" configuration. I tested running the HVRemote script while the SERVER85 firewall
was turned off, and I get exactly the same results below.
One more note: this user currently can logon through RDP to SERVER85 and administer Hyper-V just fine. This user is *not* a domain admin or an admin on that server - I've simply provided him with the right permissions to be able to RDP and admin Hyper-V
only.
We used HVRemote and it output this info when run on the client:

• Failed to connect to VMware web service: Invalid keystore

Hi,
We have a CPO 2.3.1 that refuses to connect to vCenter (see log extract at the end of the post).
We recently changed our vCenter server (part of an update to 5.1).
We tried following workarounds:
remove and add all platform elements from the portal using SE services
re import automation packs (the 4 from the Starter Edition v2.3.1.38)
re set the keystore password
No change at all...
Would you have a clue on how to correct that?
Thank you.
Regards,
Pierre

You have an invalid keystore file because the HTTPS certification has changed. You need to delete the old keystore file and restart the CPO server and then reconnect/run something against vCenter.
There is also a possibility for Adatper Host Framework/java issues that I have seen commonly.
If you need more help, you'll need to open a TAC case with your services contract please. We normally try to not troubleshoot logs on the forums.

• Access Manager Failed to Connect to Directory Server

Dear All,
I have problem with Directory Server connection in Access Manager. This happened in Production site, all application that integrated with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) for Single Sign On are not accessible after the Directory Server connection problem occur in OAM. The problem has only started occurring suddenly, before it the all service including the OAM and Directory Server is running well. Below are the error messages that appear in WebGate log file (ohs1.log) and OAM log file (oblog.log) :
>> OHS/WebGate (ohs1.log) :
[2014-01-21T09:25:12.0053+07:00] https://community.oracle.com/OHS https://community.oracle.com/OHS-9999 https://community.oracle.com/apache2entry_web_gate.cpp host_id: <WEBGATE_HOSTNAME> [host_addr:10.10.254.178] [ecid: 004w76rlRYt0NuapxKL6iW0000sE001oGY] The host and port from the requested URL could not be found in the Policy database. Check if the corresponding directory service is up.
>> OAM (Oblog.log):
2014/01/15@03:12:23.833746 [30573 30606 | tel:30573%20%20%2030606] DB_RUNTIME ERROR 0x000008C1 ../ldap_connection_mngr.cpp:443 "Failed to connect to directory server" lpszHost<LDAP_HOSTNAME_VIA_LOADBALANCER> port<LDAP_PORT_VIA_LOAD_BALANCER>
The OAM using the Load Balancer between the LDAP Directory Server to OAM's component. When the error appears, there are no problem with the Load Balancer and all of Directory Sever services is up. There are two Directory Server servers in Multi Master Replication and 14 WebGate servers that integrated with OAM. Is there a limitation number of WebGate for integrated to the OAM?
I have tried to set some parameters in OAM configuration to solve this problem. I set the Maximum Connection of Directory Server parameter to 10 value (in OAM Console), the LDAPOperationTimeout paramater to 1 hour value and the LDAPMaxNoOfRetries parameter to 2 value (in the globalparams.xml). After set these parameters, the error is not appear in some days, but suddenly appear again in the same error message. May be set these parameters is not appropriate solution for the problem or the value that I set is not correct. Any experience with this?
I still don't know what the root cause of this problem. Restart all of OAM services (including the WebGate) is temporary solution when the error appear.
Any idea for this problem?
Thanks in advice.

Hi Jun-Y,
Thank you for your answer.
What do you means with the Directory Server's idle timeout is the "Idle Timeout" parameter in LDAP Client Control Settings?
I use Oracle Directory Server Enterprise 11.1.1.5.0. Now, the Directory Server's idle timeout parameter is "unlimited" value.
If the idle timeout of the load balancer set 1 hour, it means that I must change the directory server's idle timeout to be less than 1 hour. Isn't right?

• Lync 2010: Deleted Trusted Server remains in Config: Failed to connect to a peer server

Hi
We added a Trusted Application to our Lync 2010 topology and removed it a few days later as it became clear it will not work for us..
Since then conference group chats do not work any longer.
If I trace the issue I get
reason="Failed to connect to a peer server";WinsockFailureCode="10060(WSAETIMEDOUT)";WinsockFailureDescription="The peer did not respond to the connection attempt";Peer="deletedFQDN";Port="5061"
The host (peer) still exists but the application once running on port 5061 does not.
If I look in AD-Configuration I cannot find the Peer or anything related to it. It is already deleted in the topology (as far as I can see).
Where else can I look for (and delete) orphaned Peer entries?

Run Export-CsConfiguration -FileName c:\TP.zip, open the xml file in folder TP.zip, check if the IP address for trusted application exists.
If it exists, run the command Get-CsStaticRoutingConfiguration to check if something is related with the trusted application.
If yes, to remove it, you can run the command Set-CsStaticRoutingConfiguration -Route $null.

Any suggestions on what I can ask my IT department to change on the server so I can connect would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeremy,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error and other description it seems that there is some misconfiguration with setup. You need to provide the FQDN name of the server as might server name is not resolving its name properly and so facing issue. As seems from below details:
[2014-Nov-26 15:52:20] RDP (0): Final rdp configuration used:gatewayhostname:s:gato.gibbscam.com
screen mode id:i:0
use multimon:i:1
session bpp:i:24
full address:s:dev-JeremyS2.gibbs.local
Configuration used and full address name both appears different so please verify configuration accordingly.
Please check the DNS record, check certificate whether it match FQDN name of the server with certificate name, also try to check to connect with IP address and see what result you can find.
You can follow below guide to configure RD Gateway and after that verify the result.
1. Deploying Remote Desktop Gateway RDS 2012
2. How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

• PowerPivot Error "Failed to connect to the server. Reason: Unspecified error" when importing other files

I have been getting the error below on a regular basis when attempting to import Excel, Text, or Access files.
I'm running Office 2010 (SP1), and PowerPivot (SP1). After reading a similar thread I reinstalled PowerPivot. It worked until I closed Excel. Now it recuses to allow import or update of these files. I really need it to work. Anyone have an solution or even
something to try - other than uninstalling and reinstalling PowerPiviot everytime I need to import or refresh files?
Thanks,
