Communications between 2 different forests

Dear Microsoft forum's members
I am setuping a virtual lab on my own computer. The image below represents to my own topology.

I want to reach the targets mentioned on the attached file:
1. client1 from domain 1 can ping to client2 from domain 2 by hostname.
2. client1 can access shared folder from client 2 in domain 2.
3. client from domain1 /domain2 can access to real internet.
The virtual router i used to connect between 2 domain is Vyatta router. i downloaded it from this site: http://www.vyatta.org/downloads.
At the moments, from client 1 at domain1, i can ping to IP address of client2 at domain 2.
I already configure DNS forwarder ( following these instructions: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754941.aspx ) at both servers but i still can not ping hostname between 2 domain. I turned all firewall off but the issue is still happening.
Could you please let me know what should i do to reach my targets?

Hi,
Which trust you have created between two these forests?
You mentioned that you can ping IP address of domain 2 from domain 1, can you ping IP address of domain 1 from domain2?
I suggest you try to append DNS suffix of the other forest at the DNS settings tab to see if it works.

Communication between different JVMs

Hallo,
is there a simple way, to exchange data between different java sessions? At the moment I store the needed data to a table and load it in my java procedures when ever I need them.
But because this data is temporary, it wouldn't really be necessary to store the data. It's just for communication between the different JVMs. Is there an other way to do this, too?

Christian, I may have misunderstood your question, but, until java version 1.4, the only way for different JVMs to communicate was via sockets, or secondary storage (the file system -- which includes databases).
In java version 5.0 (previously version 1.5), there is a new feature known as class data sharing.
But since you posted to the "Database >> JVM" forum, I can't help thinking that you are referring to different database JVMs. Is that correct? In any case, sockets and secondary storage are your only options there as well.

Communication Between Classloaders

Hi.
I would like to know if is possible the communication between two different classloader using only one class (like Singleton), for example:
The first classloader A loads a class X and set the value of a static variable to �Ok�.
The second classloader B loads a class X and get the value of a static variable and return �Ok�.
But when I get the value the return is �Not ok�.

Communication between servers on different FIs

Just want to verify communication between UCS servers on same chassis but having active vNICs on different FIs (Diagram attached). I suppose all commuication between server-A & server-B will happen through Layer 2 switch as server-A will generate an ARP request for Server-B, that will be passed over to FI-A and then to L2 switch down to FI-B, where server-B will respond back with it's MAC that will then be passed to Server-A via FI-B to L2 switch to FI-A.I don't expect any traffic between servers A & B be routed via firewall? Is there anything I need to be careful about in this design? Going forward we will have multiple subinterfaces on the firewall for different VLANs and all servers will use Firewall as default gateway.

you may want to look at the throughput of your firewall for server-server traffic in different VLANs. If your L2 switch is 10G but your firewall is only 1G then you could have a potential bottle neck.

AD Migration from one domain to another domain between different Forest.

Dear Team,
We have a domain named "test.gov.in" .Now we want migrate all the users,computers,groups,GP ....etc in to our new domain "abc.net".Operating system of the source DC and destination Dc is same (Windows 2003 32 bit)..
Pls provide me the steps to migrate one domain to another domain between different forest

Would agree with Christoffer and migrate using ADFS but before you can do this you will need to set up a trust between the two domains. Once this has been accomplished then you can run ADMT.

How to copy table from database in one forest to a database in a different forest?

    Using Wndows 2008 Server Enterprise there exists 2 Forests,
each containing their own SQL Server 2008 installations, a scenario exists as follows:
     a)"Domain1" resides in "Forest1" which has SQL Server 2008 containing
         a database named "Database1" which contains a table named "Table1".
     b)"Domain2" resides in "Forest2" which also has SQL Server 2008
         but containing a database named "Database2"which contains a table
         named "Table2".
    I tried to use <domain_name>.<server_name>.<owner_name>.object
but that syntax didn't work.
    How can I copy "Table2" from "Database2" into "Database1"
(keeping in mind the databases are in different forests and domains)?

Lync 2010 server and UM role on different domains in different forests

Hello
I have a Lync 2010 environment running on domain A, with exchange 2010 UM also running in Domain A. We are in the process of migrating users and mailboxes from domain A to domain B. Once we reach our enterprise voice users with exchange UM enabled
we will need to install the exchange UM role on the exchange server in Domain B.
There is a 2-way trust relationship between domain A and domain B.
All the users from are running Lync on a PC located in Domain B, using Lync credentials from Domain A.
Are there any issues running Lync 2010 and Exchange UM from different domains in different forests? Is it as simple as creating a new UM DialPlan and UM IP Gateway to the domain A Lync FQDN?

Each UM forest must be configured to trust the forest in which Lync Server is deployed, and the forest in which Lync Server 2013 is deployed must be configured to trust each UM forest. If Exchange UM is installed in multiple forests, the Exchange
Server integration steps must be performed for each UM forest or you’ll have to specify the Lync Server domain.

Utilizing SQL Server as Lync Server 2013 backend and monitoring in different forest

Hello,
We are in process of deploying the Lync Server 2013 infrastructure enterprise pool, have a query regarding Lync Backend server.
Can we use a SQL server in all together different forest as backend for Lync 2013 topology, there is a two-way forest trust between the forests?

You can do if you can communicate the back-end server successfully. But it is not supported.

How to establish connection between two different IP Range

Hi All,
Currently in my office there are two different ip range that we are using one for the Wi-FI(192.168.1.X) & 2nd for local machine & servers 192.168.2.x series ip.
In current situation if any Wi-Fi user(Laptop User) wants to communicate with local machine or server then he has to switch from Wi-Fi to Lan.
So is there any way to provide communication between Wi-Fi & local network.
if this happen then there will be no need to switch from Wi-Fi to Lan, Wi-Fi user who has ip range 192.168.1.x is easily communicate with local machine & server(192.168.2.x).

In my office i am using Microsoft Thread management Gateway(Software Firewall).
Can i set Security like as below,
Users can connect Wi-fi Network but they would not able to access internet but they should be able to access for local network & for the internet they should go via Microsoft Thread management Gateway.

Communication between the DNS/DHCP Manager and OES Server

No communication between the DNS/DHCP Manager Console and OES server (status,start,stop)
The screenshot shows the tab "DHCP (OES Linux)" in the DNS / DHCP Manager console
in the bottom of the image it shows the state of the DHCP servers.

The dhcp service is started on all these servers
You can see that the status is known only for four servers.
The button "start/stop DHCP service" works fine on this servers and
the dhcp service can be canceled and also restarted
But the status of the "dhcp service" is not recognized for all the other DHCP servers
and so we can not start or stop dhcp service on these servers.
All servers were installed at different times (last three years) with OES11 and
are upgraded to OES11SP2 with all patches.
The server keto (DHCP_keto) is a new installation OES11SP2 few days ago.
All OES servers were set up identically from me. LDAP, LUM, DMS, DHCP works fine.
Which service on the OES server is responsible for
communication (status indicator) between the DNS/DHCP Manager and the OES serve?
How the status query is performed by the DNS/DHCP Manager?
How can I test the communication to the server on the client (console)?
Which configurationfiles I should be compare on the server?

both of them are correct on different layers. The IP protocol used over the interconnect is udp and one of the protocols/mechanism implemented above that is DLM.

Communication between client and server

I am using sockets for communication between the client and the server. is there any other way that i can use for communication between the client and server???

Plenty of ways: JMS, SOAP, RMI, a RESTful API, writing-files-to-a-shared-directory-on-the-disk, Sneakernet, ...
Some of them use sockets (or better TCP/IP) as the underlying protocol.
But to give you a good answer, you would have to tell us why you want a different way. I hope you're not searching for a different way just for the sake of being different.
