Communications Error-- could it be related to OS difference?

I'm trying to join a multiperson chat with two friends who have Leopard, while I have the most updated Tiger. Could this be causing the "Communication Error"? The past one or two attempts haven't even said that though, they just come up with "starting chat" for a while and then eventually just say that one of my friends' screen names has "left the chat", when it never actually goes into the chat to begin with. When I hit software update it says everything is up to date. I have Mac OS X 4.11. Any help would be appreciated.

iChat 3 can Multichat with iChat 4 users.
If they have already started the Chat and invite you they can not have left the Chat - other than your Modem or Router seeing the amount of iChat Data as an Attack and cutting the ports that the Video and Audio feed is on.
Go to the Set up pages of any ADSL Modem you and /or any router and check it has any DOS or SPI items disabled.
Can you do one to one chats with these same Buddies ?

Communication Error in VC Model

Hello,
I have created a VC model which has three tabs.On execution of first tab out of six queries only 4 are executed properly and rest 2 queries diaplay error message " Communication error could not retrieve data".At the same time if i refresh the same model then all the six queries are executed.
why is this happening ?
One more point to observe the 2 queries which has problem to execute has complex caluclations, checked the same in RSRT2 query takes lot of time to execute...so...does this have any thing to do with the display of error message ?

Hi,
I've already archived a lot of assets in my final cut server but since one week there is a message appearing when I click on an asset and choose "Archive". The pop-up says: "ERROR: Could not read block 64439 of relation 1663/16385/16658: Result too large"
Does anyone know what's the problem and/or have any suggestions to solve my problem?! I can't archive anymore since the first appearance of this message.
What happened before?
-> I archived some assets via FCS and then transfered the original media to an offline storage media. That system worked fine for the last months and my normal server stays quit small in storage use. But now, after I added some more new productions and let FCS generate the assets, it doesn't work anymore...
It's not about the file size - I tried even the smallest file I found in some productions.
It's not a particular production - I tried some different productions.
It's not about the storage - there's a lot of storage left on my server.
So, if someone knows how get this server back on the road - let me know.

I would really appreciate some advice re: recent FCS search errors.
We're having similar issues to C.P.CGN's 2 year old post, it's only developed for us in the last few weeks.
Our FCS machine is running 10.6.8 mac os and 1.5.2 final cut server with the latest
OS 10.6.x updates.
FCS is still usable for 6 of 8 offliners, but on some machines, searching assets presents "ERROR: could not read block 74012 of relation1663/16385/16576: Input/output error."
Assuming the OS and/or data drives on the FCS machine were failing, I cloned the database drive today and will clone the OS drive tomorrow night, but after searching the forums and seeing similar error messages I'm not so sure.
FCS has been running fine for last 4 years, minus the recent Java security issues.
Thanks in advance, any ideas appreciated!

Hello Everyone,
I have developed a generic sync appln. After deployment, on execution i get the foll error/return message..
"<b>EWAF 016Due to a communications error method GET_CHQ_BOUNCE_INFO could not be executed</b>"
I have done the mapppings in the table BWAFMAPP and MEMAPPDEST.
I have also tested the RFC connection and also tried remote logon. Alls working fine.
My wrapper is also remote-enabled.
To check the RFC connection i have also tried calling the wrapper which is in the b/e from a test FM in the middleware. Even that is working.
The configuration I am using is :-
MI 25 SP 13 Patch 00
WAS release 640
b/e R/3 release 700(ECC 6.0)
Kindly help me with this.

Communication error Aim not related to modem

I am able to request an video conference with my AIM PC buddies but when they accept I get a "communication error" message. I have a wireless router but have confirmed through direct connection with my modem that the router is working fine. I've also tried to contact 4 different people and get the same error so it's not just one person's settings that are causing the error. I can communicate with the auto respond video and IM apple terminals but as I hear from someone else, that doesn't mean anything.
I've spoken with apple for 2 hours once and they have a very rudimentary level of understanding of ichat and blame it on the router.
Can anyone help? I have been trying to get this ichat to work with aim since June and have had no success.

I made a change to one of my settings and am now able to communicate with one aim buddy. I had another buddy who has SP2 to make the SP2 changes recommended earlier. I am still not able to connect but have a different error:

gunneraide, if you use a Nokia 311 and do get a Communication Error, sound like you face a configuration issue. Could you please double-check: Menu » Settings » Configuration » Default: What is listed there.

Bex Web Application Designer issue: portal communication error

hi experts,
I am working with Bex Web Application Designer in BI7. we are using SP9. When i try to use the Web template its giving below error.
The Requested operation could not be performed due to portal communication error.
its message class is RSBOPLAP and message number is 018 and description is Java System error: An unknown error occured During portal communication.

Procedure for System Administration
Start the Visual Administrator, log on to the SAP J2EE Engine and choose "<J2EE_SID>" ->"Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Viewer".
The file "defaultTrace.trc" includes detailed information about the error that occurred. In Windows, you can find this file in the Log Viewer under "Cluster <computer name>" -> "Server <server number>" -> "<drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server<NUMBER>\log". ". In Unix, the file is located under "/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/server<NUMBER>/log".
If the file does not include enough detail about the error, you can increase the log level to obtain more information. To do this, choose "<J2EE_SID>" -> "Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Configurator". On the "Locations" tab page, choose "com" -> "sap" -> "ip" -> "bi" -> "webapplications". Using the selection list on the right side of the screen, you can increase the log level, whereby "DEBUG" represents the log level with the most information. You can save your settings by choosing the "Save" icon. The change to the log level is active immediately. Once you have successfully analyzed the error, you should set the log level back to its default value using the appropriate pushbutton; continuous writing to the log file negatively affects the overall performance of the system.

am using OBIEE 11g, i have made a new repository in obiee and when i done my analysis phase i checked the result and i recived an error :

I got the same error message. I can see the data in the physical layer. Once i import my repository via weblogic, i can see the subject areas and all its related filed in Analysis section.
However i cannot view any data for any columns. Error;

I get a 'Java Communication Error - Error when opening RFC Connection' when I save or try to execute my web template.
Any help how to fix this problem...

Symptom
You are using SAP Netweaver 2004s Web Application Designer.
An operation that you want to perform is answered by a popup saying:
"Error during RFC communication (subrc = ...)", followed by the a certain
function name and in most cases an information that the portal or java
communication has failed. The message usually has the message class
RSBOLAP, numbers are 15, 17, 18.
This may occur during an operation like Save Template, Load Template,
Validate Template on Server, Load Reusable Web Item, Save Reusable Web
Item, Get Valuehelp, Execute Template in Portal, Publish Template to...,
Download of Metadata, and others.
All of these operations use functionality from the Java Server in some way
or the other, so they require a valid connection.
Function modules that may be mentioned in the error message (the list is
not complete) are:
RZX2_BTMP_SET, RZX2_BTMP_GET, RZX2_BITM_SET, RZX2_BITM_GET,
RSWAD_WEBPUB_CALL_SERVICE, RZX2_MIG3X70_DATA_GET, RSWAD_METADATA_GET,
RSWAD_TEMPLATE_SERVICES, RSWAD_PF_WEBPUBGETVH, ...
This note also applies if you for example change a Web Template, save it,
and the changes do not seem to be reflected when executing the Template
again.

Cause and Prerequisites
The Web Application Designer needs an active and valid Portal connection
for most of its operations. It can not be used without being connected to a
BI backend system (Netweaver BI Server).
Additionally, the connectivity Java->ABAP and ABAP->Java has to work for
the user currently logged on.
The usual communication flow is like this:
1. The frontend calls for a service on the Netweaver Server.
2. The call first meets the ABAP server.
3. The call is processed in the ABAP server as far as possible, and then
(if necessary) forwarded to the Java server.
4. The Java server processes the call as far as possible, and if
necessary calls another service functionality on the ABAP server.
5. The result is sent back on exactly the same way that it has arrived

RFC-error messages in Web Application Designer 2004s
(in the most complex scenario: ABAP back to Java, then back to ABAP,
and then back to the frontend).
So if either the call from ABAP to Java fails, or the later call Java back
to ABAP does not work, an RFC-error occurs, leading to the error message in
the frontend.
Solution
This is not an error in the Web Application Designer.
When such an RFC-connection error occurs, the call from the Web Application
Designer frontend to the backend has not worked or not received a result.
In most cases, this means that the requested operation could not be
performed.
It may be that only the current call has failed, while the connectivity in
general is set up correctly. This may be for example, if the maximum number
of concurrent connections for the Portal is reached at the moment.
For that reason, please wait a few moments or minutes, and try again to see
whether the operation can be performed then.
In most cases, however, the connectivity is not properly configured, so the
call will not return a result also during the second and all following
tries.
In that case please ask your system administrator to set up the ABAP->JAVA
and JAVA->ABAP connectivity in a valid way (at least for your user...).
Please use note 888687 and 917950 (and their related notes) for the task.
If you do not succeed, please make sure to provide all the information
requested in these notes in your message. Otherwise an efficient message
processing is not possible, postponing the solution unnecessarily.

Communication Error with Canon MP560

OK, it took me weeks about 4 months ago to get my printer set up to work wirelessly. It has been fine ever since but tonight I am trying to print a PDF file and sometimes the printer will print 1-2 inches of the page (very slowly), once it even printed 3/4 of the page before stopping...then gives "A communication error has occurred. Error Number : 306 A communication error has occurred. Make sure that the printer is plugged in, powered on, and properly connected to your computer. Then try printing again." Any ideas what is going on? Of course it is connected because it prints part of the pages. Queue Name: CanonMP560_series_3ADD850000001; Driver Version: 10.26.1.0; I tried printing an email to be sure it wasn't the document and the email only printed about 1" also and then quit with same error. It took me forever to get this set up correctly and worked beautifully for 4 months and I have changed nothing on my computer. Any ideas what is causing this? I am not techy so all help is so appreciated. Can supply any info you may need but be specific as to where I can get that from. Thanks and hopefully I can get some help!

I'm not sure either. If you have Software Update set to run automatically, then there was an Airport Client Update 2009-002 in December. But apart from that, I cannot see any recent update that could have been applied that would have stopped this from working.
I think there could be other factors, not related to the Mac, that could be causing the issue. Have you added any other devices to your wireless network recently? Or has the location of the printer moved compared to last week? Or has something like a piece of furniture been placed between the printer and the wireless router?
I updated my software with no problems and then tried the 1.0 network update and don't know about that...it was weird the way it came up behind and I had to search to find the set-up, then said installed software but asked if configured and I said yes and then searched for printer and couldn't find it (is on and had just tried printing before that). So went back to Help and started going through this long set-up and I said "no" and x-ed out of that.
I've never used that MP Driver v1.0 install myself. My MP980 installed fine and has kept working on wireless without no loss of connection. So I don't know what you should have seen during its installation. It certainly doesn't sound like it worked correctly. But note that it is an add-on to the Canon v10.xx driver - not a full driver itself. So the Canon 'CUPS' driver would have needed to be installed and working for the MP Driver to complete its installation.
Went to print again and same issue - printed 1-2" and errored out. I do have 2 printers to select from. I know one is with the old software which I can tell because I followed your instructions about the Options/Supplies. I am selecting the one that shows the new software. Don't know how to delete one of the Printers, or maybe I need to get rid of them all and redo that???
It is interesting that only one of the drivers appears to have updated to the latest version. I would have expected both to have updated to the latest version (assuming that both are the printer queues for the MP560, as opposed to one being the scanner queue and the other being the printer queue).
At this stage I suggest we sort of start again and reset the printing system (Control-click in the Printers list and select Reset..). This will remove all printer queues but not the associated printer drivers.
With both printer queues removed from the Printers list, restart the Mac and then add the network printer again. Remember that when you add the network printer, it can take several seconds for the printer displayed as 'canonijnetwork' to appear.
Is it a real pain to just go USB? I can't stand setting this up, but if not too hard to do and if that will work would probably be best. This wireless stuff is way over my head I guess.
The USB connection is usually a sinch to configure. And if this new network printer queue still fails then it is worth trying the USB printing - even if just to prove that you can print a whole page.
If you just connect the MP560 to the Mac via USB cable, the printer will automatically add to the Printers list. You should not need to do anything additional to get it connected and working.
Let me know how it goes and reply if needed.

I am using Virtual box to connect to Sharepoint 2013 VPC. Due to an unexpected sutdown of my machine the VPC got some issue. Now I restored it using my bak up file. But after this when I deploy my sharepoint 2013 farm solution Iam getting the following error.
Error occurred in deployment step 'Recycle IIS Application Pool': A communication error has occurred while invoking commands in SharePoint host process: The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature
session shutdown or an internal server error.
What could be the issue? Any suggestions ?

Adobe Download Assistant communication error(Error 107) only when I download After Effects CS5.5

I've been trying to download the After Effects CS5.5 Trial for over a month now and it is really frustrating because I don't have a problem downloading any other adobe trial just After Effects CS5.5, it says I have a communication error (Error 107) and I know I really don't because I can download any other trial from Adobe Download Assistant. I reallly need help to try to download this program. I don't know if it is that I'm in another country, my server, or something relevant but i would really aprecite it if you could tell me why this is happening.

hI Prasad,
It seems you are maintaining the address data for a country with jurisdiction code. Different external control systems can behave in different ways.
1. You entered a jurisdiction code that matches the postal code but not the city (possibly due to a typo).
a) Behavior when you use Taxware: There is no message and data can be saved.
b) Behavior when you use Vertex: Due to the incorrect city, no comparison jurisdiction code can be determined and message TAX_TXJCD861 is issued with a text from the vertex system that may be unintelligible.
2. You do not enter a jurisdiction code, but you do enter a postal code and a city that does not match the code (possibly due to a typo).
a) For Taxware: If the jurisdiction code could not be explicitly determined, a selection dialog box containing the relevant tax jurisdiction codes for the postal code appears. You select one. This and the corresponding city are transferred.
b) For Vertex: The TAX_TXJCD861 message is issued (behavior as in 1b). Other terms TAX_TXJCD861, TAX_TXJCD101, TAX_TXJCD107.
For resolving this issue, you can check SAP Note 677850 - Address data: Check/new determination jurisdiction code.
Hope you will resolve the above issue with these inputs.
