Hi,
Please make sure you have installed the latest version of communicator.
I want to confirm if the option has been selected even the PIM section is grayed out.
Please try to repair Office to test the issue.

  • Does Jabber Client 9.6 have the option to save Chat history within Outlook 'Conversation history' like Lync does?

Does Jabber Client 9.6 have the option to save Chat history within Outlook 'Conversation history' like Lync does?
Any guidance/response would be greatly appreceiated. thanks in advance.

The latest release of Jabber allows you to save the chat you had in html by enabling EnableSaveChatToFile
But yes, IM&P requires a separate server in which to hold all the messages that go thru the server, this is for management purposes, not really meant for users.
Persistent chat will hold all the messages, but this also requires a separate DB server to hold them.
You're free to use any other XMPP client you prefer which has this capabilities on the client side.

  • My Fire Fox does not save my History

My Fire Fox 3.6.6 Does not save my History
After 3 days my History does update and places.sqlite after reaching 1000 KB it does not save important links
    == User Agent ==
    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; (R1 1.5))

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.warnOnClose''', if its value is set to '''false''', double-click on it to change its value to '''true'''
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences '''browser.warnOnQuit''', '''browser.warnOnRestart''' and '''browser.showQuitWarning'''
If you always open the last set of tabs, an alternative approach is this:
    # Click the orange Firefox button, then select options to open the options window
    # Go to the General panel
    # Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • Firefox 3.6.3 does not save any history, does not save passwords. I have read the forum and checked my settings (ok), started in Safe mode (still does not work).

Firefox 3.6.3 does not save history, nor passwords. I have read the forum and checked my settings in Privacy (all ok), I restarted Firefox in Safe mode (it still does not remember history or passwords). Running on XP. I think these problems started when I upgraded to 3.6.3.

I had the same problem after an upgrade to 3.6.3.
I was using password manager for a number of web sites before. Not using cookies but password manager.
After 3.6.3 auto upgrade it did not work.
I could not enter private browsing mode.
When I looked in tools>options>security at my saved passwords the list was blank. The button in the saved passwords dialog that normally says "Show saved passwords" was actually blank (the button was there but there was no text on it).
I did have my old bookmarks and was able to create new ones but oddly the bookmark all tabs menu function wouldn't work.
I decided to reinstall firefox 3.6.3. There is no way something with that many bugs got out!
I was able to get the full firefox executable from http://mozilla.com
I closed all firefox windows and ran the installation.
After re-running the install and starting firefox everything was fine. It must have been a bad download or the original install got messed up somehow.
I hope you have the same good fortune I had!

    Hi
I have Signature Manager Exchange Edition 2.0.3.0 installed on the hub servers.
I have enabled  Sent Items update.
some clients are not getting signature update in the sent items of outlook while using cached mode.
from OWA, and MS Outlook when connected online, the signature is updated in the sent items.
I have two CAS servers and two mailbox servers. all with Exchange 2013 SP1
I tested each CAS server for the URLs of Autodiscover and EWS, with no errors or warnings.
    I also test Autodiscover through
    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com . I go successful result.
Outlook clients are updated to the latest version 15.0.4701.1000
for outlook clients; I deleted outlook profile, deleted outlook folder in the user profile, re-created the  outlook profile, with no luck.
from Exclaimer event logs on the Hub servers. the sent items update is successfully updating clients. below is the screenshot of an event for one email message which is successfully updated from exclaimer but it did not update on the client outlook while

    Dear Mashhour
    Here you go
Employees can see their email signatures and disclaimers
With Exchange 2013, a Microsoft Outlook user can’t see any added email signatures or disclaimers as they are added to an email when it passes through the Exchange server.
Signature Manager Exchange Edition lets email users see their email signature and corporate disclaimer within the Sent Items of their inbox, giving them visual confirmation of the processed email

Updating to the latest version of signature manager exchange edition will help you to resolve this problem for sure
Or you need to contact them to find a solution on this .
I'm pretty much sure that this problem is related with some version mismatch on their s/w on exchange 2013 which is causing this issue.

  • Acrobat XI email attachment does not appear to work with Outlook 2013 64 bit

When attempting to send email from Acrobat, the following Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 64 bit error message is received:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default email client."
Naturally, Outlook was set as default client and then reset for good measure.  I did both Outlook and Acrobat repairs and have the latest 11.0.2 installed.  All other internal Office 2013 email applications work as well as seemingly all other embedded Acrobat funcitions with Office 2013 work well.  Office 2010 64 bit and Acrobat X worked fine.  I upgraded to Office 2013 64 bit and had the problem with Acrobat X.  I then upgraded to Acrobat XI and the issue remained.
Most importantly, I intalled Office 2013 64 bit on my laptop with Acrobat X.  An the email attachment function works perfectly.
So, is there some sort of corrupt MAPI file that I have to overwrite on my desktop that the Ofice and Acrobat repair functions do not fix?
    Thanks,
    Joe

I am sorry.  In my haste, not only did I attach the link the wrong way, but I also did not specify which solution worked.  My problem was a Click to Run issue.  The portion of the thread that deals with the problem is:
"HurdleRemove replied on May 16, 2013
I created a solution for this problem for 64 bit Windows 8 where Outlook 2013 was installed as Click-To-Run.......
......A  registry edit will fix the problem with Outlook 2013 click to run  installations and enable Outlook to be set as the default mail client.  This registry edit will for many third party programs eliminate the error "Either  there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot  fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it  as the default mail client." It  worked to resolve the problem where Adobe Acrobat was generating this  error.
The registry edit is here for Office  2013 64 bit click to run installations that will enable Outlook 2013 to  be recognized by third party applications:
    1. Create registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook
    2. Create String value:
    Bitness
    3. Set the String value for Bitness to:
    x64
This registry edit is an essential element  necessary to resolve the click to run problem that prevents Outlook 2013  from being set as the default mail client. Although it worked with  Adobe Acrobat, it will not completely resolve the  problem for some third party applications like Kerio Outlook Connecter  where the software developer has a web site that includes extra steps  necessary for a full resolution for the Kerio product. The Kerio web  site includes this registry edit in the context  of resolving the Office 365 problem. However, the registry edit works  with Office 2013 desktop as well. A similar register edit could likely  be made for 32 bit versions but the registry path would not include Wow6432Node. I do not have a 32 bit machine and cannot test a 32 bit solution."

  • Since updating Firefox my laptop does not save my history. Where has all my history gone?

it will save history during the session you are in but when you reopen the browser there is no history saved. can't find anywhere to change it. my other browsers are saving changes, but we prefer to use Firefox but it is too inconvenient at this time.

-> click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Options''' -> Privacy -> History section -> '''Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History"''' -> '''REMOVE Checkmark from "Permanent Private Browsing mode"''' -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> click '''Exceptions...''' button and click "Remove All Sites" 4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> ''Keep Until'': '''select They Expire'''
-> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
-> '''When using the Location Bar, suggest: select "History and Bookmarks"'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries
-> click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Options''' -> Advanced -> General -> Remove Checkmark from '''Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page'''
-> click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Options''' -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline Storage (Cache): click '''Clear Now''' button
-> Click OK on Options window -> Restart Firefox
Make sure NOT to use '''Clear Recent History''' feature

  • After upgrading to Firefox 3.6.11, the browser does not see my previous browsing history, and does not save new history. places.sqlite is still in place. Is there a way to fix this without erasing previous history?

Bookmarks are still being updated and saved. Recently closed tabs, Recently closed windows are being recorded as they should. I have a single .json file on my profile directory, search.json. I don't know if there should be another one for the browsing history. It looks like some index file for the history database was lost or corrupted, or re-created as an empty file. places.sqlite-journal has zero bytes; places.sqlite-stmtjrnl has 37 kbytes, date 2008-07-15.

I kept trying to solve this problem, and after a few unsuccessful attempts, the only thing which worked was uninstalling Firefox (keeping all my customizations) and then reinstalling Firefox 3.6.10 (which is apparently no longer available at mozilla.org, but which I could easily find at filehippo.com). The unsuccessful attempts I made were: (1) Install Firefox 4 beta; (2) uninstall Firefox 4 beta, Firefox 3.6.11 (in both uninstalls, keeping my customizations), and reinstall Firefox 3.6.11.
So right now I am stuck at Firefox 3.6.10, or I will loose access to my browsing history. If anyone at Mozilla.org is reading this, I would suggest taking a look at this issue to see if it can be reproduced and fixed. I am running Windows XP (fully updated), Brazilian Portuguese version.

  • Group Chat feature in Office Communications Server 2007 R2 does not work in Windows Server 2008 R2 domains

Hello to all, there are two confliting articles about this topic:
       1-
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/upgrade-domain-controllers-to-windows-server-2008-r2(v=ws.10).aspx#BKMK_Whatsnew : this one says that it does not work "The Group Chat feature in Office Communications Server 2007 R2 does not work in Windows
Server 2008 R2 domains". This article was updated in 2013.
       2-
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee692314(office.13).aspx: this other article says that it will function "Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat will function in a Windows Server 2008 R2 forest". This article was updated in
2010 and was refered by the first one.
What is the correct support position for Group Chat feature in Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 domains?
       Regards, EEOC.

    Hi,
I notice the following sentence in the link below “Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat will not function in a Windows Server 2008 R2 forest or when Group Chat member servers are joined to a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain.
We know of an issue with changes in Windows 2008 R2 that requires a Group Chat Client and Group Chat Admin Tools hotfix. The Group Chat Client and Group Chat Admin Tools hotfixes are currently scheduled for mid-April 2010.”
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2010/11/06/supportability-for-office-communications-server-2007-r2-and-windows-server-2008-r2.aspx
So in my opinion, if you update to the latest version of Windows Server 2008 R2, OCS Server 2007 R2 and Group Chat Client, Group Chat Admin Tools to the latest version, it should work.
However, the best method for you is make a lab to test the problem firstly.

At first, I have this Mozilla Firefox 3.6.8 where it all started.

  • Recording does not save the file

We are facing a serious problem with Captivate 2. After
recording about 40 -50 slides it does not save the file.
The system hangs for several minutes and there’s no
response. To analyze this problem we have tried out User Forums and
FAQs.In the User Forum too similar problems are reported. For
    example, visit:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=67&catid=464&threadid =1261116&enterthread=y
In fact, in our team Captivate is loaded on a standalone
hi-end system with ample space and memory.
We have also tried workarounds to address this issue. For
example, we deleted all temp files from library and we also saved
it on a short path like c:/project.
    Nothing works!!!

Hi Madduser and welcome to our community
    When you say
To analyze this problem we have tried out User Forums and
FAQs are we to assume you simply searched them and read the
threads? I'm assuming this because this is your first post here.
You will note that the thread you linked to mentioned the
person was attempting to save on a network. I do see you have tried
using the shortened local path to no avail, so I'm guessing the
    network is ruled out here.
As usual, I've got more questions than answers, but hopefully
as we work through them something will come to light.
    * Have you EVER been able to create and save things using
Captivate? Or did you just install it and it's never worked for
    you?
    * Have you tried what is outlined in the following Technical
    Note?

How to get Mac Messages to NOT save chats?
I went through the Preferences but I do not see where I can check/uncheck save chats.  Will someone help direct me?

    Hello mayonnaise18,
Thank you for the question.  You can disable the option to save chats in the Messages tab in Messages>Preferences:
Automatically save conversations when you close them
Choose Messages > Preferences, and then click Messages.
Select “Save history when conversations are closed.”
These steps are to enable the option to save messages, but you would want to uncheck the option to "Save history when conversations are closed."  You can find the full article here:

  • I get the firefox pop up "do you want to remember this password", but it does not save it. There is no "yes" option on the pop up. How can I get Firefox to save my passwords?

I want Firefox to save my passwords as it has in the past, but now it is not doing so. I am using version 6.0.2, I see the pop up asking to remember the password, but firefox does not save the passwords. What can I do to correct this so FF starts saving my passwords?

Firefox 4 and later versions place a key icon on the location bar that allows to (re)open the dialog to save the password at any time.<br />
That pop-up dialog has a button labeled with "Remember Password".<br />
If you click the arrow next to that button then you see the other choices ("Never Remember Password for this site", "Not Now").<br />
