Tengo una iMac PowerPC G5 1.9Ghz, con 1.5GB de SDRAM DDR2 con un disco duro de 160GB
Necesito actualizar el Mac OS X 10.4.11 a uno mejor que me permita bajar aplicaciones como el google chrome y otras cosas, ya que practicamente no me deja hacer nada.

Eso Mac no se puede actualizar pasado 10.5.8. Si lo desea, comprar un menor Mac OS X 10.5 DVD de una fuente como Amazon o eBay.

My X10 does not connect to GPRS / EDGE / 3G / HSDPA after the upgrade to 2.3. Wifi is no problem, though.
I used the SIM card in another X10 with Android 2.1, no problem, got an HSDPA connection. And yes, all the boxes are checked: "Data Enabled" and "Data Roaming";

HardwareKey corrupted when I login as standard user on my x10.3.9???

Hi all intelligent guys,
Need your help here....
The problem is: I just created a Standard user with some limite on x10.3.9,then when i launch Preps v4.7 (running in Classic9 environment), it shows me that:" Hardwarekey maybe corrupted......". But when I re-login as Administrator it is O.K. How & Why??

Try repairing permissions have you tried that?
Go to Applications/Utilites/Disk Utility/ Then Select your HD and repair permissions.
Then repair OS 9 Permissions by going to System Preferences/ click Classic/ then Advanced/ Rebuild Desktop/ Also try starting without extensions.

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
    * Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
minimum system requirements
    * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
    * DVD drive for installation
    * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

I am running OS X10.4.11 Recently I have been having trouble opening entourage, word, safari, excel, etc on a cold start It has been taking 3 attempts each time getting a message that the program quit unexpectedly. Seems like a virus. What can I do?

Then there are 2 buttons below the dialogue box that say "Use new settings and Use original settings" This happens every time I try to open Power Point, Excel, Safari, Entourage the first time each new day. If I have been running any of those programs and have not shut down the laptop then the program will reopen normally but may shut down unexpectedly on its own and sometimes not. What changed and how do I fix this problem? Running OS X10.4.11 and software updates are current. Ran diagnostics and checked out ok.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode?

OpenGL does not work on Satellite L30-X10

I have a Thoshiba Satellite L 30 - X10 running on Vista home basic. I have a ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Video card. I am able to play DVD's and some games that do not require open gl but when I try to play Wolfenstien or call of duty it get the message that It cannot open GL and I must update my drivers.
I have updated my drivers, It still does not work.
In the Ati Catylst program it says that I have the card stated above and it gives me the 3d versionof the card but says no version available on the video card even though the device manager says that it is working properly.HELP.
Can anyone please assist me as I am not familiar with Vista.
my computer also will create back up points but will not restore on any of my back up points could this be affecting the open gl for gaming as everything else works well.

Did you do an erase and install of Mt Lion? In any case you'll have to reinstall iWeb from its original source. Did iWeb come with your computer? If so you should have a couple of disks that came with your Mac and one of them will have the Bundled Software Install package on it. Like one of these:
Be sure to update iWeb to the latest and last version, 3.0.4, from Apple Downloads web page.

How can I reformat my Mac Book Pro without using disc utility? My laptop keeps crashing, and needs to have everything reinstalled, but disc utility will no longer open, saying it 'quit unexpectedly'. I'm running Mac OS X10.6.8. I've lost install CD.

My laptop keeps crashing. This seems to happen only when it's streaming from sites such as Netflix, YouTube or Spotify.
Also, it stopped being able to run iTunes, and can't download Yosemite.
I want to wipe it and reinstall everything - I've already done a full back up.
The problem is disc utility will no longer open, saying it 'quit unexpectedly':

I have no idea what to do, but need to get this sorted as quickly as possible as I need my laptop for work.

Even if you could open Disk Utility you can't reformat a disk while you are booted from it. You will have to use the install CD. Ring the Apple Online Store at the number given at bottom left of this page and give them the serial number of your Mac. You should be able to get the Snow Leopard install disks for a nominal fee.

How can I print my A4 Book now in 8"x10.5"? RESIZE?

I have a book about 700 Pages already been printed a couple of times in A4 size,
Now the sponsor can only print it in max 8"x10.5"
This means the entire Book/file needs to be adjusted to this new size in order to get it printed.
I need to know what is the best option to do this.
Can this be automadet in Indesign or trough the export via printing?

I am working on a book in Indesign.I have 740 pages in total. I have black and white and color pages meaning Images.I converted the black and white images in Photoshop to Grayscale files, before I imported the imges into in design. As
to reduce printing costs my printer asked me to make sure these single
pages are safed as either color or black and white pages,so the printer will recognice those pages and will print those according to their color/ black and white profile of the images.I thought this will happen automatically since my photos, digital images are either in color or grayscale.Apperently this did not happen.My printer just told me all pages are having color profiles.So I wonder is there a way in Indesign to give single seperate pages of my bookdifferent
color or b/w profiles? so the printer who will recieve a PDF from me
does prints bacl and white in a black and white modus.

Rather than ask you for more details here, I'm going to suggest that this is so far from related to the original question that you should start a new thread. tellus exactly what you mean by "single color pages," whether you mean convert for final output and wish to leave the color intact in the document during editing or for multipurposing, the version of ID, etc.

The drop-down options for print size on my HP 7525 don't show 8"x10". I have the usual 4"x6", 3.5"x5" and 5"x7", then 10x15cm, 2L, Japanese Postcard, A6, L, 10x15 tab, 4x6" tab, 13x18ccm and Index card. But no choice for 8"x10". What must I do to print an 8"x10" photo?

My old printer does not show 8x10 either.
In the printing preferences under the Paper/Quality tab, do you see a "Custom" option or button? There should be one in there somewhere in your preferences.
Click on that and create a custom size of 8 in for the width and 10 in for the length. Be sure to "Name" it 8x10 Photo and click ok.
Now give it whatever attributes you want under the other tabs and click Apply and OK (or just OK).
Close out the printer and open it again and the new size you created should show in the list.

There are no viruses currently affecting the Mac but there is something called Flashback which is malware that has been doing the rounds and affected many Mac users. Apple have released some updates to Java that should remove it and improve protection. Run Software Update to see if there is anything for downloading.
A few precautions that can help prevent your Mac becoming infected:
If you use Flash only download it directly from Adobe.
In all web browsers disable Java (but do leave Javascript on as that's something else).
In all web browsers make sure downloaded files aren't set to automatically open after downloading.
Consider disabling Java completely (launch Java Preferences in the Utilities folder and disable it - you'll likely rarely, if ever need it. If you do just turn it on and off again when your done).

Help! My x10 Wont update from 2.1

Hi there i am having trouble with my sony experia x10 - i am NZ based and my partner has the same phone as me. He has updated his fine to 2.3 through the PCcompanion. But when i put my phone in for updates it just reads that it is already up to date. But its not.! Firmware reads as 2.1 Base band 2.1.54 kernel 2.6.29.
Whenever it does go through an update it simply wipes everything and re installs 2.1 again which is annoying!
I really need to update so i can get the new google play etc and instagram and alot of other apps as none seemto work on my phone unless i can upgrade. Im not a big tech person so have no idea about flashing etc that ihave noticed come up alot when ive googled how to fix. i just want an easy solution.. surely there has to be one?

I think not. You will need to order a disc from Apple quoting your serial number, as many of these discs are machine specific. So unless you can get your drive working I think you will have to take a trip to an Apple store.
Indeed, you have an old computer that may not be worth the cost of repair ... but it is still worth seeking Apple advice and a visual inspection. It just might be something not too drastic.
