Missing video controls in firefox

For some reason, videos on various sites (facebook, putlocker, etc) play fine, but I cannot get the controls at the bottom of the window to come back.
Hovering my cursor over the bottom of the window does nothing, meaning I cannot make it fullscreen, lower the volume, or drag the slider to fastforward. I try to click on the video window, but at best it will do is pause the video without showing me the controls (with facebook it does nothing at all). Though, sometimes, if I click in just the right place, I can hear the volume change or get it to go to full screen, but I cannot see what I am activating until it happens.
When right-clicking, a menu pops up that gives me access to Flash's controls, but once I am within the preferences, again, my mouse does nothing. I can click all I want but nothing registers, to the point that I have to refresh the entire window because now it is frozen on the preferences window.
These problems are specific to Firefox; I play the same videos without any problem on Safari, which has the same version of Flash installed.
I have tried:
Running Firefox in safe mode (deactivating any add-ons, many settings)
Updating Flash Player
Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player
Clearing my cache
My specs:
Flash Player 11,0,1,152
Firefox 3.6.23
Mac OS 10.6.8
Any suggestions? Cause this is driving me nuts.

Flash Player 11 dropped to support FireFox so this issue is known. If you want to stick wtih FireFox 3.6, you need to downgrade Flash version. If you don't mind to upgrade FireFox, it should solve the issue.

Youtube plays dual audio in one tab and still plays one when i pause the video

Some Youtube videos I play plays the same audio twice with a little delay in between. If I pause the video one keeps playing. I don't know to fix this.

How Do I Pause A Video Recording?

How can I pause a video recording using the inbuilt camera on my iPod Touch 8GB? There don't seem to be a option to do this. Is there a way of combining videos to be as one instead?

Why there isn't a pause for video capturing on E90? I would like to join several short scenes together, & is audio dubbing possible? What is a good software for editing video clips ?

Could anybody tell me if it possible to pause a video clip for a few frames and then resume playing later in the project?
I guess I could chop the video clip into several discrete shorter clips and create some static freezeframes, and then play them all one after the other to crate the same effect.
But that sounds clumsy so I wondered if there is a way to pause/resume a video clip within a project.

... but I couldn't find anything called Timing remap or re-timing etc. Then it dawned on me that I should have specified that I'm still using Motion 2, and I guess those features are only available in Motion 3?
However, armed with the new phrase 'Timing Remap', I dived back into Google and came up with this article:

This explains how to use the Scrub filter (also available in Motion 2) to control the playback of video clips relative to the project.
Its a bit fiddly, but I'm comfortable with basic arithmetic, so I can certainly use it to achieve the effect I want (basicaly I need a video clip to pause and then resume a few times throughout a project).

It was so frustrating. I tried everything I could. I was even using uncompressed video files (+60GB in size!) to try to fix the problem, but nope. Nothing. Except this...

Preferences -> Playback -> Playback Quality and select "High Quality"
By default, FCPX uses the lower quality setting to save resources.

Try sharing and see if the effect is still present when you play the shared movie. It can happen when playing within iMovie if there are insufficient resources to play a full resolution.

If you go into Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, can you see the extension you want listed? They may be incompatible, or have been disabled, for some reason.

I pause my video and the audio continues...if I play again it causes a major headache. Help?

This might be an easy to answer question, but I am making my second video, so I'm not too knowledgeable. Anyway, I imported audio into my video and it plays back fine. So I play the video, and pause it to try and synchronize the audio. The video stops, but the audio keeps playing, and it will not stop until the whole thing has played. If I try to start from the beginning again and play the audio to sort of override it, it just overlaps with the original audio, and the resulting noise gives me a headache. I don't know if somehow I can stop the audio a portion of the way through, but if I can, that would be great. It would make syncing a whole lot easier. Thanks!

Ok, so I had a .m4a file on my computer, which I then turned into an mp3 using the adobe media encoder. I imported the mp3 using File-Import-Import to Library, and then I created a separate layer for the file and dragged the audio from the library onto the stage while I was on that layer. The layer now had a sound file on it, and I put a keyframe a ways ahead on the timeline so I could see the audio layer. I then played it back using the play button underneath the timeline to begin syncing my animation with the audio that I had imported. I stopped it, a little late as it turned out, but the music continued to play. It would not stop until it had gone through the whole song. While the song was playing I tried starting it from the beginning again, but the new sequence overlapped with the old one so they played together out of time, creating a very unpleasant noise. They both had to finish before I could play it back again to try and sync my animations more precisely. If I could pause the video (again, I'm using that little button at the bottom left of the timeline) and stop the audio, syncing would be so much easier, and I assumed there was a way to fix this. I am working with Flash Professional CS5.5. Thanks for your consideration!
