Saludos
Carlos

Yes in an STL file the subs have a comma after each In and Out Timecode (as a separator) and also they don't normally have line spaces between each entry. If you want the subs to be on two lines and "force" what goes on to the second line (rather than SP deciding for you) then where you want the return to be you need to add "bar" symbol (the one above the backslash on a Mac keyboard)
Try it on a couple of lines of your subtitles to see if it works before committing. I usually create my subs as STL files but it should work

  • Can u run Airport Express and a wireless modem together?

Can u run Airport Express and a wireless modem together at the same time?
I'm using AE purely for music distribution and have just bought a wireless modem for the internet (not a AE). However I can now only select either the AE network, OR the wireless internet network (it's BT HomeHub). Hence I can either play music or use the internet, but not together!
    Any ideas anyone..??
    Thanx

You should configure your AirPort Express (AX) to join the wireless network provided by the modem. The instructions are in KB 302153, AirPort Express: How to join an existing wireless network in client mode.

  • Can I use the Airport Express as a cable modem?

I am trying to set up wireless internet in my home, and I am planning to purchase an Airport Express. Can I use the Airport Express as a cable modem, or do I have to purchase a modem from the ISP and then connect the AE to the output of the cable modem?
    Thanks,
    Adrian

No, the AirPort base stations do not perform the functions of a DSL or cable modem, so you will still need to acquire one.

    Gracias

  • How do I set up my Airport Express to my Viasat modem, which requires a DHCP connection, without getting a double NAT connection error?

I have an Airport Express connected to a Viasat 4100 satellite modem. This requires a DHCP connection and is connected to my Airport Express by Ethernet. I then have three computers (two running Mavericks and one running Lion) and two IPhone 5s and an Apple Tv on the network. If the Airport Express is set to DHCP and NAT then the network works and I have internet, but the amber light flashes and I have a double NAT error. If I use it in Bridge mode the airport express goes green but I have no internet. How can I set it up so it works properly? If anyone knows could they please give all the settings I shoud use on the Airport Express as I may have left incorrect setting on it whilst trying to fix the problem. I have checked and it has been confirmed that I cannot change any settings on the satellite modem.

Go into AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Express, and click on the "Double-NAT" error. Click Ignore. There's nothing that can be done about the Double-Nat unless you ignore it (no harm) or contact your ISP and get them to change your Modem/Router into Bridge Mode, and even then can't guarantee that you won't get that error.
Again, best thing to do: Ignore the Double-Nat Error.

  • Airport Express won't detect modem

I'm running XP home on a Dell Inspiron 510m with Dell 1450 b/g wireless card. My current internet connection is via Ethernet to D-Link DSL-300T modem and my internet provider is Zen (PPPoA). Being a fixed line guy, I have no WEP/WPA wireless encryption in place at the moment. In addition, there is no firewall etc. in place at the modem level. The fixed intenet connection has worked like a clock for the last 5 years.
In an attempt to go wireless at home, I just bought an Airport Express on the basis that many people view it as easy to set up. The problem I encounter that the AE does not leave the "amber flashing state" after startup. According to the modem, the ethernet connection to AE is OK and the second I disconnect the AE and plug the cord back straight into the computer, I'm back on the internet. My conclusion is that the AE does not recognize the modem and its ethernet connection.
I've tried a variety of different approaches to get the AE to speak to the modem:
    1. Modem on and connected to AE at the time of AE startup
    2. Modem on and connected to AE at the time of AE startup, subsequent reboot of modem after AE startup sequence
    3. Modem off and connected to AE at startup, modem start after AE startup sequence completed
    4. Modem on and connected to AE at the time of AE startup, reset of AE after AE startup sequence
No matter what I try, I still end up in the same situation (amber flashing light). AS there at this point is no network established, I can not use the Airport utility to pinpoint the exact source of the problem.
I would be most interested in learning the thoughts of anyone who may be able to help.
    Thanks and regards

Duane, many thanks for your reply.
I believe I have the setup suggested by you:
Phone socket ---> D-Link modem (PPPoA/DHCP server) ---> Airport Express
The D-Link DSL 300-T modem is set up to handle all aspects of the connection to my ISP, including PPPoA. In addition, the modem is set up as a DHCP server. In my world (but I'm an amateur compared to most posters on this forum) this should mean that the modem is set to furnish the AE with the correct type of connection. Am I missing anything here?
I gather from reading on the internest that the problem may actually be one of compatibility between the AE and my specific D-Link modem (DSL 300-T). It has been suggested that downgrading the firmware in the AE to an earlier version sorts the problem. I'm not keen on downgrading the AE so am instead thinking of buying a new wired modem/router (contemplating Netgear DG834).
Have you heard of the alledged compatibility problems between AE and D-Link 300T and the suggested "downgrade fix"? Would you have any views on whether the Neatgear DG834 works well with Apple kit?
    Kind regards
    LS

  • Is Airport Express compatible with ADSL2 modem?

I already have an ADSL2 Modem (with both ethernet and usb cables) which was provided by the ISP. I am looking out for a router since my current Linksys router is giving problems. I am thinking of purchasing the Airport Express since it gives me the option of using my printer and ipod wirelessly as well.
I just wanted to clarify if the modem will be compatible with the Airport Express. Also, if the Airport Express can be used as a proper wireless router for accessing the internet wirelessly through my MacBook Air.
    Can anyone help please!
    Thanks.

Thanks. I checked on my modem setup page and PPP over Ethernet ( PPPoE ) is selected. Does the AirPort Express work with this? Also, how is the connectivity? What is the difference between G & N. Previously I had a Linksys Wireless G router. The Airport Express seems to be N router? Will that create any problems. I just want to clarify before I buy it.
    Thanks a lot for answering.

  • Which one shoud do DHCP; Airport Express or Wired DSL Modem?

I have a wired DSL modem for my internet connection, and just purchased the Apple Airport Express to provide wireless to all 3 computers on the network (2 Mac, 1 PC). Which piece of hardware do I want to do the DHCP? I think right now it's set up on both, but I'm not sure. Any advise?

DHCP server is responsible for allocating IP addresses to the computers on your private network. In order to avoid duplicating addresses, you can only setup one DHCP server per subnet. It makes sense to set up the DHCP on the router that's also running the NAT (Network Address Translation), this will ensure both functions are going to use the same private IP address range. It will also simplify IP address reservation, and port mapping.

  • How do airport extreme and airport express routers connect to modems?

I've heard that airport extreme and airport express are wifi routers, not modems. if they are routers, they need to connect to my modem. Do they connect using a wire or wirelessly?

It must be connected to your modem with an Ethernet cable.

  • Setting up Airport Express w/o a Modem

My internet access does not require a modem due to its being Fiber Optic. My question then is how to set up and configure Airport Express to not only have a wireless internet network but to get the printer to work wirelessly as well. I have 2 laptops (wireless) and a desktop and 1 printer.
The configuration I have now is ethernet cable from jack to router, then router to desktop computer as I could never get Airport Express to work properly.
    Thanks!

My concern is that I can't get the PC to connect to the internet if the ethernet cable goes into the Airport and then a cable from the router to the computer.
Certainly that is true since the AX only has a single Ethernet port and that would be connected to the FiOS line.
If that computer must be wired via Ethernet, keep your router as is. Now connect the AX via Ethernet to one of the router's LAN ports. Configure the AX to act as a bridge (not sharing a single IP address). In that configuration the AX will be providing a wireless connection to the network provided by the router.
You can leave the computer which must use Ethernet connected to one of the LAN ports on the router.
I also can't get the printer to work wirelessly even with the cable running from the AX to the printer.
What doesn't work? Does the printer power up?
The FIOS is through Verizon. Basically, I've got an ethernet cable from the jack to the router and the router to the desktop. We also have 2 laptops that work wirelessly off that network. They work fine as things are set up now, but I haven't tried plugging the ethernet cable into the AirPort to see if they work. I know the PC doesn't, but I'm wondering if I need a wireless unit for it.
So... what are you using the AX for? or what do you want to use it for?

  • Airport express and comcast telephony modem

I just had Comcast setup cable modem/telephony in my new home.
Technician set up and was only able to get the internet to work if plugged directly from modem into network card on the PC notebook.
I replaced that cable with the airport express, got a green light. both the PC and the mac found the wireless connection and I had internet access from both.
About 2 days later I lost my internet connection. Both machines still find the wireless and report strong connection. but no browser connections.
Interestingly enough, the PC wanted to download some MS updates and was able to do that, but still no connection via IE, Safari, Firefox.
Talked with several techs from Comcast, finally last night I just go the one direct connection with cable working again.
Any other experiences like this??? I want to use wireless and just need to know what the best way to proceed may be.
    Thanks,

Alexkywalker, Welcome to the discussion area!
Whenever you switch the Ethernet connection from a cable modem from one device to another you need to power down the modem. This will force the cable modem to forget the device it was talking with. The cable modem will then discover the new device and communicate with that.
BTW, the AirPort Express (AX) has an auto-sensing Ethernet port and therefore will work with any type of Ethernet cable.

  • Connect Airport Express to Motorola Surfboard Modem/Router

I have purchased  a Motorola SURFboad eXtreme Wireless-N Cable Modem and Router (model SBG6580).  In order to extend the network to all rooms of my condo, I purchased a 2nd generation Airport Express.
I was able to setup the Airport with my Mac using the Airport Utility and I was able to connect to the my network; got a solid green light on the aiport!
When I tried to access the network, using the Mac, in a room farthest from the Cable Modem but next to the Airport Express, I was not able to see my network.  As I walked closer to the modem, the network became visible and I was able to connect.
I then tried to turn off all security on the network and got the Airport Express to connect to the network and and got the solid green light again.  I tried the same experiment, and got the same result.
So wondering what I need to do to get the Airport Express to connect to the Wireless Modem and extend the network?
Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, Apple tells us that the "extend a wireless network" feature will only work when you have the Express extending another Apple router.
In other words, to "extend" it takes a minimum of two Apple routers.
Your Express has "joined" the network. You can use it for AirTunes or connect a remote printer, but it will not "extend" the signal from the Motorola modem/router and provide more wireless signal coverage.
You would need to connect the Express to the Motorola modem/router using a wired Ethernet connection if you want it to provide more wireless coverage. In this case, the Express would be configured to "create" a wireless network using the same wireless network name, same security settings and same password as the Motorola network. The Express must also be configured to operate in Bridge Mode in this type of setup.

  • Airport Express to Verizon DSL Modem - Connectivity issue

I have Verizon DSL at home. I have an iMac G4 1.2GHZ w/o internal wireless. I'm trying to use the AX to join the DSL Wireless, and use the Ethernet on the AX to provide internet access to the iMac.
    Setup:
Verizon DSL modem w/ build in Wireless G
    MAC address authentication
AX MAC added to the MAC list
AX Sucessfully added to DSL Wireless (I can see it connected at the DSL modem web page
AX Status light is green (confirmed its getting an IP from the DSL Wireless)
iMac plugged into the AX via ethernet (confirmed its getting an IP from the AX)
No internet access on the iMac however.
I did notice in the Airport Utility that sometimes the AX is logging:
Connected to: <insert mac address here>
Disconnected from: <insert mac address here>
    over and over at times....
The AX and the Wireless router are approx 15ft from each other.
I've also powered everything down, fired up DSL Router 1st, then AX, then Computer. Still no dice on internet to the iMac.
Any suggestions? I shouldn't have to add the iMac MAC address to the filtering...but maybe....didn't have time to try that lastnight/thismorning.
    Thanks for any help!

    Welcome to the discussions!
    Couple of thoughts here:
Check AirPort Utility - Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab just below the icons
Make sure there is a check mark next to "Enable ethernet clients"
You are trying to use the AirPort Express in a configuration known as a ProxySTA.
The modem/router will need to be compatible with this function, so you should check with your ISP to see how this could be enabled on your modem/router.
