what do you have? Version of iPhoto? Of the OS? How is the passport connected to your Mac? What format is the passport (for the iphoto library it must be Mac OS extended (journaled) )? The iPhoto library is not and can not be on the cloud (maybe later with the Photos Application)

I am having a problem with Windows Fusion installed on a MacBook.

I am having a problem with Windows Fusion installed on a MacBook OS 10. When attempting to use a Browser, (either IE, or Chrome), under Windows Fusion, I cannot browse to ANY page except Gmail.com.
I checked all security settings, and found no problem. Neither browser will allow me to do ANYTHING other than go to Gmail.com!!!
I am not sure if I have some virus on my Windows side, because Google and Safari both work perfectly on my Apple side, just not when running Windows Fusion.
Is there some setting I am missing, or do you think I have malware/virus issues?? My Internet connection is DEFINITELY working fine - I can send, receive, open, and close all my email on Gmail only, and can navigate freely on Gmail, but cannot get to any other site even hyperlinked to Gmail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you've already tried my previous suggestions, it may be that something has tampered with the DNS settings in your Windows VM, which might bypass the settings your Mac uses. Assuming you're using Windows 8, these instructions explain how to check and change the DNS settings. There's also a link in those instructions listing a variety of suggested DNS settings. If you do try changing the settings, record what the settings currently are in case you want to return to them.

Well, my two-month-old MBP has no qualms about booting from a no-name external USB HD I put together...
Given that is is a common point of failure, I would imagine a large Apple Store should keep a stock of HD's on hand.
Now since you're a bit desperate and the genie pops up til Saturday and you seem to be the enterprising kind, let's try an experiment: if you have room enough in the external HD and assuming it isn't a Time Machine volume, why don't you plug it in, stick the Install CD and see if the installer lets you select the external drive as the install target. If you can install Leopard on it, on top of the backup without reformatting, and the Mac can boot from the drive afterwards, at least you would have some functionality restored and would be able to pull your stuff from the internal HD. Apple says booting from USB drives is not supported but that does not equate to not possible; some brands do work. Risks? Always. You can always lose your backup. Like I said, a challenge for an enterprising gal....
Next time around, consider having a bootable external clone at hand for rainy days. I keep three myself...

This is extraordinary. I have moved the router and also tried resetting it to its factory strings. We have had this router for over a year and all our devices have always worked. Now all four laptops will not connect to the internet. Only one oMac and our phones and iPad.
I have had far more devices running at once before but now all laptops are timing out on connection. Some say this iIP address is already being used but if I manually set to a slightly different IP address it does not help, noir if I manually set to the correct IP address. Why would all our laptops (four) suddenly be unable to connect?

Video on skype not working. Only functioning in facetime and photo booth. Seems to be a common problem amongst users having bought a new macbook air recently. When you go to Preference and click on audio/video item video works but when clicking on another menue and returning to audio/videio picture is gone. Understand has something to do with a recent update von Apple (10.8.5... missing file for 32 bit version).

There are several possible causes for this problem.
1. Two (or more) computers on the local network have the same Bonjour name, such as "X's-MacBook-Pro.local".
2. You have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. If applicable, disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
3. A Mac wakes from sleep due to network traffic. This is due to a bug in OS X that may only affect some models.
4. A device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
5. A third-party wireless router has incompatible settings or firmware. In that case, refer to the manufacturer or ISP for support. Restarting the router may help, temporarily.

I´m having problems with my wifi an my new Macbook pro. It doesn´t remember the network so every time I log on - I have to "join a network". I have "ticked" the "remember password" box. I´m connecting to a wireless network on an regular Speedtouch router at home. I´m new to Mackintosh.

Try the following, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
In the windows on the left side: Select login for Keychains and "All Items" for Category.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

Problem With Conexant HDAudio After Installing x86 Vista SP1

I didn't want to start a new thread, but it seems my problem is very unique.
When first installing Vista x86 my Speakers/Headphones worked great. After Vista SP1 installed, my Speakers/Headphones went silent yet the driver was still there and functioning properly. I uninstalled the driver, and let Windows auto-install another driver. (No Rollback was available) I was able to get sound from my Speakers. Speakers are the only thing that work whether I plug into the headphone jack or not.
While plugged to the headphone jack I test the Headphone device in Playback Devices and get nothing through the headphones.
HP support's drivers only mute my speakers while making my headphone device in playback disappear. Same with updating the driver.
I like to use this as a TV computer and would like sound from the TV via the headphone jack.
I have searched EVERYWHERE on the internet and found no resolution. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure on your model but on dv2000 models I worked on I was able to replace the headset jack board by removing all screws from lower casing, removing rear button panel then just lift front palm rest & have easy'ish access to jack board 2 screws & ribbon connector.

Problem with conexant smart audio hd

I bought toshiba satellite L750 with conexant smart audio hd sound card... when i connect it to my stereo, it's not the same sound as on other laptop with realtek sound card, it's very low. My phone with 3.5 mm jack gives better sound... is it hardware or software problem... pls help, tnx.

Abysmal your model appears to be from Europe, perhaps Hungry?
I don't have a Conexant sound card, I have a Realtek, so I can't test anything.There doesn't appear to be much in the way of help or advice on this issue on our forum. Perhaps you'll have better luck on the Toshiba Europe Forums.
But, if you find a solution, we'd appreciate you posting it back here.

Problema con conexión TV por HDMI Z0 70

Hola Hace una semana adquirí un Lenovo Z40-70 con Windows 8.1 y GPU Nvidia Geforce 820M y no he logrado conectar mi TV con este computador por medio del cable HDMI. Ya actualicé la BIOS y los drivers de video y no logro que mi TV muestre alguna imagen o sonido. Aclaro que el problema no está en el cable o en el TV dado que ambos los puedo utilizar con mi computador anterior sin ningún contratiempo. Mi notebook reconoce el TV y puedo clonar y expandir el escritorio con ta tecla F10 o desde las propiedades de pantalla, pero aún así, no logro obter una imegen en mi TV. Les agradezco la ayuda que me puedan dar dado que no encuentro ninguna solución para este tema. Saludos

Hola Miguel. Gracias por la bienvenida. Despues de realizar varias pruebas con varios TV de diferentes marcas, logré conexión con un Samsung Smart TV, lo cual descartó a mi juicio daño en el puerto HDMI del PC. Sin embargo, el puerto HDMI solo funciona cuando conecto el PC al TV utilizando el puerto VGA, clono la pantalla, desconecto el cable VGA del PC y luego conecto el cable HDMI del PC al TV. De esa forma, el PC reconoce el TV y proyecta imagen y sonido aunque con problemas de dimensión de imagen. Este proceso debo realizarlo siempre si deseo utilizar el puerto HDMI. En mi opinión, el problema continua siendo de drivers pero ya tengo la ultima version de los mismos y no sé que mas hacer. Estoy esperando la actualización a Windows 10 para validar si la falla se corrige. De lo contrario, la unica alternativa que veo para corregir el problema es instalar windows 7. Necesitaré una revisión de mi Lenovo en el servicio de garantía? que otra altertavica puedo utilizar? Gracias y saludos

En Windows 10 insider preview durante un tiempo breve si tengo conexion a internet, despues apesar que marca que tengo correcta la conexion deja de funcionar, y el solucionador de problemas dice: el equipo esta configurado correctamente pero el dispositivo o recurso (www.microsoft.com) no responde, pense que era problema del internet y hable con el provedor y todo funcionaba bien, despues fui con los drivers que eso sea el problema, pero intente actualizarlos y dice que estan actualizados y funcionan bien, saben como puedo solucionar el problema, Toshiba aun no da a conocer Drivers compatibles con Windows 10 o cual sera el problema?

prueba lo siguiente:
- con SAP cerrado busca la carpeta Local Settings del usuario de Windows.
- encontrarás una carpeta Application Data y dentro de esta SAP.
- abre SAP y SAP Business One.
- borra el fichero b1-current-user.xml.
- abre SAP, selecciona el servidor y las empresas.
El problema radica en que este fichero está corrupto, o se genera corrupto.
También, si tienes problemas con las preferencias de usuario (idioma), se soluciona con estos pasos.

Problema de conexión de iPAD3 con 3G

¿Que pasa en Mexico y en otras partes del mundo con las iPAD3?; no estan conectando con el servicio de 3G.

Bueno.
1. Instalamos sql 2005 y creamos una instancia para sap (sqlcortineros).
2. Actualizamos al ultimo service pack disponible.
3. Inicimos instalacion de sap:
3.1 hemos ensayado desde el DVD original y desde un instalador que nos entrego el partner.
3.2 La ultima instalacion la intentamos desde el instalador del partner asi:
3.2.1. borramos todo rastro de sap en el serve, incluyendo las BD que el crea y que el desinstalador no borra. Osea los archivos que estan el la carpeta de la instancia. Revisamos el registro para verificar que tampoco hay nada ahí.
3.2.2. Ejecutamos la instalacion y la misma se ejecuta sin problemas, pregunta por el servidor sql y seleccionamos sql 2005, despues le indicamos el servidor y le damos las credenciales de acceso (hasta estoy usando sa + B1Admin por si acaso).
3.2.3. Configure de acuerdo a tu solicitud el acceso con un usuario administrador la instancia del sql e incluso al agente de sql.
3.2.4. El instalador crea y sube a la instancia la base de datos SBO-COMMON
3.2.5 El instalador despues de terminar de crear la base de datos trata de acceder a la instancia nuevamente y pregunta por el servidor, el nombre de la BD SBO-COMMON y las credenciales. Por defecto trae la informacion que le habiamos dado al iniciar la instalacion.
3.2.6 El instalador dice que no puede acceder a la BD y que verifique si esta funcional.
3.2.6 Solo da opcion de cancelar la instalacion y dice que el instlalador no pudo terminar.
Como comente, en este punto ahora ultimo decidi instalar el cliente y el mismo detecta el servidor y me permite acceder a las compañias de prueba aparentemente sin problemas!?!?!?
