Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated. There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

Just bought a new iPhone and am having trouble with iTunes and App Store. I can log in to Cloud, iTunes, and app store but once I try to download, it says "Youe apple id has been disabled". I've reset my password three times and have no issue on my Pad.

I recently changed my email on my apple account but the old email address is displayed when I go into iTunes or App Store not allowing me to sign into my account. At some points it's a vicious circle because it asks for a password at key times when trying to correct the problem. Note that the new email address shows when I log into my Apple account and shows it was verified. For some reason the system isn't updating to the new email in ALL places.

Why is my Apple ID not working in iTunes or App Store on my iPhone? When I try to buy apps or music it asks for Apple ID so I enter my info and nothing happens. When I go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. When I enter my ID and password it does not save or link to account. I do not have this problem with iPad ID is stored and can be used in App Store and iTunes. I have just upgraded to 5c and it's still a problem.

When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.

How do I turn off the Genius app in App Store. I've gone to Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System Services then swiped Genius for apps 'off''. Also, I've gone to Settings/ITunes and App Stores/Click on AppleID/View Apple ID and then turn off Genius. Still nothing has worked. I'm still stuck with Genius offering the same apps to me. Mind you, once I click on the App Store there is nothing I can do but swipe left and right. There's absolutely nothing at the bottom of the screen like a features tab, nothing. There is, however, a categories button at the top, but that's it. Irrelevant.
FWIW, I just got off the phone with Apple technical support about this. I use Genuis for creating playlists, so I don't want to disable it, but Apple support confirmed that there is no way to avoid syncing Genius data without disabling Genius altogether. I'd read somewhere else that subscribing to iTunes Match might allow you to avoid this, but that is NOT the case, as I've confirmed, and Apple support has confirmed. For me, it routinely syncs thousands genius of items, so I have to allow a lot of time for my manual syncs.

I recentley bought a ipod touch 5.01,set all language to English.....every thing i view is in English except when i view (open) itunes or apps store it is in German, I live in England, I was born in England, and i speak only English. I want my itunes and apps store to open and display in English. I have messaged the apple help and telephoned the help, both was helpful but no matter what i do in setting (even in reset, which i've done) my ipod will keep reverting back to German in Itunes and Apps store. All other data in my ipod is in English........just the itunes and apps store grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Please help :-)You can only use the German iTunes/App store if you are located in Germany. The German store is in the German language.

For some reason the Apple ID window in iTunes and App Store now seems to suddenly have a character number constraint which prevents me using my 29 character Apple ID. As a result I am unable to enter the final few characters of my Apple ID which I have had for many years. Does anyone know what has caused this?
You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.

1st Gen iPod Touch cannot login to iTunes or App Store
My relative's 1st Gen iPod Touch (fully updated) cannot login to iTunes or App Store. Specifically, when the prompt on the iPod touch for their Apple ID, they can type in their ID and password fine, but tapping on "cancel" or "OK" does nothing. The iPod touch is effectively frozen, the only option being to hit the Home button to get out.
This happens when trying to purchase an item in iTunes, the App Store, and when accessing the Apple ID account through Settings.app on the iPod touch.
An Apple Store genius recommended restoring, but this did not help. Other internet features (safari, mail, facebook, etc.) work fine. They are still able to download apps through iTunes and then sync them over. Any suggestions?

We just tried to do a fresh restore to factory settings. Unfortunately, the exactly same problem persists.
A little more information, after the username and password are entered, OK can be pressed, but the prompt doesn't go away, and there is a persistent "loading..." sign in the background. This is where the iPod hangs. Here's a picture of what it looks like.

The iTunes and App Store icons have disappeared from my home screen (and no...I did not inadvertently delete them). Any ideas on how to restore them (and the links)? Thanks...

My App Store is connected to another account. I've tried to alter all my settings through iTunes, The App Store on both the phone and my Mac but it is still connected to the original owner's apple ID. Is there something I can do?
Turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud on the iDevice.
Log out of iMessage, Facetime, remove Apple ID from iTunes & App Store.
Use Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Then set it up as a new iPhone with your own Apple ID.
