Como manter links nas imagens dentro do Illustrator, quando se compartilha o arquivo com mac e pc?

Como manter links nas imagens dentro do Illustrator, quando se compartilha o arquivo com mac e pc? Usamos a mesma versão, CS6, mas toda vez precismaos relinkar as imagens.

Isso acontece entre Macs e PCs. Aqui na empresa trabalhamos apenas com Macs, e, caso os links não estejam na mesma pasta do arquivo AI sempre pede para relinkar.
Exemplo da organização de arquivos aqui.
PASTA JOB
-> PASTA LINKS
-> PASTA DATA DO ARQUIVO AI
Fica assim o resultado da pasta
-> PANFLETO PADARIA DO JOAO
--> _LINKS
-------- imagem fachada padaria.tif
-------- logotipo paradria joao.psd
-------- paes padaria joao.psd
--> 2013_07_05
-------- panfleto padaria do joao.ai
-------- panfleto padaria do joao_curvas.ai
Desta forma, sempre que abrir em computadores diferentes, vai pedir para relinkar. Passamos por isso aqui na empresa.
Isso não aconteceria se os links estivessem na mesma pasta do AI. Aí poderá abrir em outros macs, outros pcs e não vai pedir para relinkar. Basta mudar sua organização para:
-> PANFLETO PADARIA DO JOAO
--> 2013_07_05
-------- panfleto padaria do joao.ai
-------- panfleto padaria do joao_curvas.ai
-------- imagem fachada padaria.tif
-------- logotipo paradria joao.psd
-------- paes padaria joao.psd
Isso resolve a relinkagem!
Adotamos esta nova organização em um departamento e não foi mais necessário ficar relinkando os arquivos.

Gracias por utilizar los Foros de Discusión de National Instruments, te comento que ese tipo de objetos son controles los puedes arrastrar desde el Image Navigator, este mismo se instala junto con el módulo de LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control, para acceder a él es necesario abrir LabVIEW y navegar dentro de los siguientes menús:
Tools >> DSC Module >> Image Navigator...
Esto abrirá una ventana del Image Navigator en la cual tendrás que navegar por el símbolo que te interese utilizar y arrastrarlo al Panel Frontal de LabVIEW.

Esta técnica funciona mejor cuando la imagen es negra sobre fondo blanco, da igual que tengamos un Tiff, un JPEG,… o que esté en escala de grises o CMYK,…
Se trata de usar una Máscara de Opacidad.
1. Colocar la imagen con el fondo blanco.
2. Situar sobre ella un rectángulo del mismo tamaño o mayor. (En otro post explicaré como hacerlo exactamente del mismo tamaño).
3. Aplicarle como color de relleno el que deseamos dar al logo o imagen. (No aplicar trazo al borde).
4. Seleccionar este rectángulo y (ésta es la clave) y colocarlo justo detras.
Para hacer esto, cortar el objeto (Cmd/Ctr+X), seleccionar la imagen/logo y pegar detrás (Cmd/Ctrl+B), (tambien se puede hacer con el menú contextual: Organizar>Llevar hacia atrás)
5. Seleccionar ahora también la imagen/logo (pinchar con la H. Selección y la tecla May pulsada)
6. En el Panel de Transparencias, seleccionar en menú lateral: crear Máscara de Opacidad
7. En el panel, marcar la casilla de Invertir Máscara.
8. Marcar también la casilla de recortar (Clip) para ocultar lo que sobresalga del rectangulo de color colocado bajo la imagen/logo.

Trying to print on a DNS 323 printer server (D-Link NAS Box).

Hi,
I have a Macbook with Snow Leopard and I am trying to print over a DNS 323 printer server (D-Link NAS Box) in a (Windows based) home network. The printer is a Canon MP190 and I have the latest driver. Whenever I try to set it up in system preferences it does recognise the printer but seems to be unable to connect to it when I try to print.
Also, every time I try to print the connection to the server is lost (as in I cannot access the files on it in the finder).
My flat mate tried printing over the server with windows 7 and it worked immediately.
Any help would be very welcome!
PS: I've tried Guten-print but the MP190 is the one printer that they don't support...

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
The Canon driver for Mac OS X cannot be used when you have the printer connected to a print server other than an Airport device. For these types of connections, you need to use a CUPS based printer driver like those offered through Gutenprint or PrintFab.
Since the MP190 is not yet supported by Gutenprint, you could look at using PrintFab, however you will need to buy this software after your trial period. Or you could wait until the next version of Gutenprint is available - maybe this version will support your model.

I purchased the two bay D-link NAS box to house my two 3.5 internal SATA drives removed from my sold MacPro. Instructions state that the disks should be formated upon installation.
I purchased this to "House" my two discs that have info on them and to use that info, no formating.
Is this possible or did I purchase the wrong product?

bought the wrong product, sorry.
NAS devices incorporate their own Operating System (mostly either a Linux variant or Windows Home Server OS) and have to format the harddisks before they can use them.
To my knowledge the D-Links use a Linux variant which can not use the OSX harddisk format (HFS+) for its internal harddisk.
Send the unit back and ask for a refund.
For your purpose a 'simple' external harddisk enclosure from OWC would be the correct one.

I have the same problem, and I also wondered if Google toolbar has anything to do with it. There GMAIL was set as the default mail application at first. I have removed that setting, but Firefox 4.0.1 continues to use GMAIL instead of Outlook which is my selection for mailto handling.

Hi folks,
I've just purchased a new MacBook Air that shipped with the new Mountain Lion OS.
I've setup this new MacBook Air and logged into the Mac App Store on it to download previous purchases so my Apple ID is registered on this new MacBook Air and working.
However when I log onto the Mac App Store from my Mac Pro —which is still running Lion— I cannot see the license for the new Mountain Lion under the "Purchased" section so I cannot upgrade this Mac.
Is there any way of 'activating' or linking the license that shipped with the new MacBook Air to my Mac App Store account so I can upgrade my other Macs to Mountain Lion?

Ao mudar o emissor de ordem numa cotação, todos os textos inseridos anteriormente no formulário são apagados.
O que eu pretendo é manter o texto inicial, mesmo mudando o emissor da ordem de cotação.

Estas fontes da interface são de acordo com o sistema, no windows 7 a maneira de aumentar as fontes, segundo [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-screen-text-larger-smaller#make-screen-text-larger-smaller=windows-7 este documento] é:

To see the change, close all of your programs and then log off of Windows. This change will take effect the next time you log on.
Outra maneira, é um pouco mais complicada e exige que vc crie um diretório e dentro dele um arquivo de texto com extensão css para sobrescrever o estilo padrão do navegador. Eu recomendo vc tentar fazer pelo windows primeiro que é a maneira mais correta e mais fácil, mas se vc quiser eu te passo as instruções de como fazer usando '''userChrome.css'''

Smart Object as traditional link (as in InDesign or Illustrator)

Is there a way to link a smart object, so that updates are made to the originally placed object ....as opposed to creating a new vector file save in a temporaray folder. Is there a way to work with smart object like traditional links in InDesign and Illustrator?

Problem retaining link to .tif file in Illustrator

I'm using CS4 on a PC, however this problem dates back to Version 9 of Illustrator.
I link .tif files to Illustrator .eps files, so that if I make changes to the .tif, the Illustrator file will show the changes. I place the .tif on a layer, making sure that I've checked the box to "place" rather than "embed" the file. In the upper left corner of the top tool bar, I verify the link by seeing that the file is identified as "linked file". All is good. Now, I save the file, close it, reopen it, and presto, sometimes it has become an embeded file. When this happens, the toolbar will now read "Group." No attempts to replace or re-link the file will be successful. It is as though the file has been corrupted. The only solution I have found is to create a new file and start over.
Any suggestions?

It happens with CMYK files. I haven't used a clipping mask. I routinely use the overprint feature on elements that are on a layer above the .tif, with no resulting problems. I always lock the .tif layer to prevent bad things from happening.
But if you are saying that some kind of file conversion can happen automatically to "retain appearance", and that no warning or verification occurs, that is interesting. Do you know of a way to reverse this effect?

Set links for a PDF in Illustrator

I am setting up a multipage newsletter in Illustrator CS5 on a Mac. After saving as a PDF I have been using Acrobat Pro to go in and set links to go to the next page, home, websites, etc. It is getting cumbersome to have to redo all the links every time I have to make changes and generate a new PDF. It seems like I should be able to set these in Illustrator, but I can't seem to find anything that works. Has anyone tried anything like this? Thanks.

You are simply using the wrong tool. You really should consider InDesign, if PDF interactivity is required. You are not considering that artboards are just arbitrary tiles of a larger work canvas, not pages, so there is nothing persistent to establish a page logic on. The conversion to pages for PDF is jsut as arbitrary and only happens thne and there...

Links to PDFs Created with Illustrator Won't Work

I am using CS3. I create a document in Illustrator, save it as a PDF, and create a link to the PDF either through our website developer or through a newsletter program I am using. If I create the PDF using other programs (such as MSWord or Excel), the link works fine. If the original document is created using Illustrator and then saved as a PDF, the file will open directly as a PDF no problems. However, when I link to the PDF, the PDF downloads about 95% to 99% and then just stops on a blank page. Sometimes I get the message that the download is done; sometimes it just sits there at 95% downloaded and never progresses. Anyone else experience this?

That's weird. Did you try and run the "Optimize" stuff in Acrobat? Perhaps it still has some references and fancies turned on that are unsuitable. Also there may be something up with your Internet Zoen surveillance and Illu simply not be an trusted app, so your PDFs are flagged as risky by the system...

Embedded link not showing up in Illustrator

I had a client send me a word document as a pdf which I dropped into Illustrator to make it print ready. When I pulled the file into Illustrator, two of the embedded links, which happened to be the logo of said client, did not show up. The file is in the links panel and shows it as embedded, I can even see the bounding box when I hover over where the logos are supposed to be. However, when I open the file in adobe reader or acrobat, or even preview, those logos show up. Illustrator showed no errors and none of us caught it so it was printed without the logos.
Is there an explanation for this and how can I check for it in the future just in case it happens again?

You may need to get the embedded files from the person who authored the Word doc. and relink them to have them show up correctly. I'm not the biggest expert on Word but it may have something to do with the way the PDF was created from Word. Best way to prevent this from happening again would be to make sure if you have embedded files in a PDF you are opening in Illustrator that you address each one with caution. Select the links, one at a time in the links panel and click the go to link icon in the bottom of the links panel. This will highlight the link and zoom you into its location, if you see nothing, no graphic in the linked graphic area then you most likely need to get these graphics from the Word author and Relink them into the Illustrator file. Other possability would be to find out if there is a preset for PDF creation you could supply to the Word author that allows him/her to create PDF files that work for you.

Linking FileInfo Panel to an Illustrator Script

I've got an Illustrator script (Javascript) that writes XMP based on the content of the artwork, but the script has to be manually triggered. I've got a custom FileInfo panel (built with Flex/AS3) to help me edit the XMP once stored.
I'd like to combine the two, so the Script fires whenever the FileInfo panel opens.
I can't do the DOM scripting directly in AS3, can I? I think that Illustrator is only open to Javascript, VB, and AppleScript. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Does anyone have any ideas how to call the javascript in the Scripts folder from an event in the FileInfo panel's SWF, and pass arguements back and forth? I've seen it done on webpages, but only when both the SWF and javascript are on the same HTML page.

Thanks Carlos, this led me in the right direction, but not quite far enough.
I found Zac's Cookbook on jsxInterface, but it isn't working for me. I've set up the project linking the SWCs as directed by the SDK (csaw, apedelta, etc.), but when I use his code, I get error 1120 access of undefined property error.
I think I've imported all of the classes that I need. I'm thinking that I might have the javacript in the wrong folder of my project (although I've tried it in several, its in the src folder of the project with the mxml file), or that the javascript itself isn't valid (I've checked that it is).
Any ideas what I'm missing to make this work?

No conozco iText, así que por ese lado no puedo ayudarte. Por otro lado, haces una confusión con los nombres de programas de la familia Acrobat, lo que no nos facilita las cosas. Y por último, das muy pocos detalles específicos.
En los foros en inglés hay una pregunta frecuente que describe síntomas como los que tú mencionas. Está aquí:

Si tienes problemas con el inglés, te sugiero pasar el texto por cualquier programa traductor. El resultado distará de ser un castellano aceptable, pero estoy seguro que podrás entender el contenido. En todo caso, te hago notar que las soluciones dependen de las versiones de los programas usados.
En cuanto a la coexistencia de programas, la posición oficial es que en Windows no se soporta la mantención de dos o más versiones del
Reader (el programa gratuito). Extraoficialmente se dice que se suele tener suerte si se han instalado en el orden cronológico de sus versiones, y siempre que no se haya eliminado ninguna versión con posterioridad a una o más instalaciones. Aparentemente el problema no se presenta en Macintosh.
Espero que alguien más ilustrado te pueda ayudar más una vez que proporciones información suficiente.
