Comp CC Files Stored in Cloud Files?

Will there be any app enhancements that will allow a file created in Adobe Comp CC to be stored in my cloud files instead of sending it immediately to InDesign?

Is there any plan to add slideshow functionality as well as being able to click from file to file in Creative Cloud Files? Seems like the basics, especially when needing to display large numbers of images/photos for a client to comment on. Am I missing something obvious here?

    Hi Rickbalfour,
There isn't any functionality like this currently that I'm aware of but I agree that having this feature would be helpful. I'll ensure its shared with our developers.
    Thanks for sharing the suggestion,

  • Will going from Reader 3.1 to 5 cause loss of any files stored as PDF files done with 3.1?

Presently use Firefox Reader v. 3.1.4. Many files on my desk computer, operating on XP Pro, are stored in PDF files done with the 3.1.4 version. If I up date to the new 5.0 will these old files still open? Or will they be lost?
Worse case if FireFox Reader was to be removed from my computer what happens to these older files that were saved using Firefox Reader 3.1.4?
I am not experiencing any problems now, but the above questions are a concern, especially as this old computer continues to age.
    Thanks very much,

Hi, thanks for the very quick reply, although it doesn't really answer my question. As for not finding a Fire Fox Reader vr. 5 you should go to this link.
    http://download.cnet.com/Foxit-Reader/3000-10743_4-10313206.html
I'd appreciate any comments you have about this PDF reader in regard to my original question.
It all could be a mute point, mush like changing versions of Adobe, nothing seems to be lost or changed in the saved pdf files when changing versions in Adobe. Possibly Fire Fox 5 operates the same.

  • Accesss Files Stored in Oracle Files from Forms

I am attempting to access the files that are stored in Oracle Files (oracle collaboration suite) from an Oracle Forms.
To be more specific I am would like to implement a solution to access Files from Custom Form in Oracle Application(11i).
Any suggestions/thoughts in this regard is very much appreciated.

Hi we are on a project similar to this, basically you have two options:
    a) Use Java-Importer to include the necessary classes to interact with IFS (e.g. rename, delete or get informations about documents).
    b) Use a servlet to get files out-of and into IFS.
Because we had to do a lot of "loading" and we didn't want to run a round at client side to sign our forms jar files we decided to use method b).

  • Downloading InDesign book files from Creative Cloud files

    Gang,
I'm working on a project that has me using the Creative Cloud files to store the changes I make. I know I'm not using all of the features, but with my own personal account on two machines and my employers site license on the other, I end up using the browser version of Creative Cloud to upload and download files on my work computer.
When I download a book file (.indb), Creative Cloud and my browser seem to get confused as to what kind of file it is. Creative Cloud asks me and doesn't have an option for InDesign Book. When it downloads, it downloads as a .octet-stream file. I later go to Finder and change the extension to indb and life is good.
Is this a bug or a feature?

This is a bug. Will update this thread once it is fixed.

  • Creative cloud files and lightroom

Is it possible to use the creative cloud Files for two users to upload and use a lightroom catalog?
We'd like to be able to upload files (on creative cloud files) at one location, and have another user view and rate these files at a different location.
    Is this possible?

No moving of files is needed.
Just launch the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. It should find your existing LR 5.5 catalog and make use of it; if it does not happen automatically, in the CC version of LR use File->Open Catalog

  • PDF generated in SAP backend to be stored in Cloud Proxy object

    Dear Colleagues,
We generate the pdf file in SAP backend system and send the pdf as an attachment to email address. Along with this we also want to automatically have this pdf file stored in Cloud Proxy object. So that users can access these files in Cloud portal when needed.
If anyone has expertise on this topic, please share or suggest the solution.
    Thanks,
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
Would you like to achieve an automatic way to store the document in cloud portal? Can you elaborate a bit more?
Check out this blog demoing the documents repository capabilities and read the official documentation here.
I believe the public folder can fit for your needs.

  • Mapping physical file name to logical file name

    Hi All,
Can anybody let me know wht is the procedure to map a logical file name to physical file name. wht is the use of logical file name when there exists physical file name?
    Thanx in Advance

As far as creating the Logical path  it’s done through the transaction code ‘file’ by using options
    Steps are:
    1. Logical file path definition which is logical file path name.
    2. Assignment of physical path to logical path - where we give the physical path to the logical path name defined in the last step.
After creating the Logical path the procedure to attach the file name to the Logical path is as follows:
Use the function Module C13Z_FRONT_END_TO_APPL to upload the file from the front end to the application server.
Source file on front end will be the CSV file path which is to be uploaded to the application server
Target file on application server will be the physical path of the file on the application server where the file is to be uploaded.
Attach the physical path of the file on the application server to the Logical file using transaction code ‘file’.
Logical File:   The Logical name of the file which will be used by the interfaces to upload the file
Physical file:  The name of the physical file on the application server
Logical path:  The path of the physical file on the application server where it is stored.
The possible reason for the use of Logical file name could be we can have directories within SAP in which we can have logical files stored. These files can be used by various interfaces. Different Logical paths can be used for different interfaces. the second reson can be to give more user friendly name to the file rather than a long physical name to the file.

  • Book files stored in Creative Cloud not syncing

    Hi everyone!
We are working on a project that is stored in Creative Cloud to take advantage of collaborative workflow. Everything is working fine so far.
I've just created a book and added a few files so that I can sync styles, master pages, etc. This is working flawlessly on my end so far.
The problem comes when another teammate tries to open the book file I've created on his/her end. The book opens but it is empty (no documents listed at all). However if a send the book file to them via email or store it on a network drive and they open it everything works perfect.
So the problem seems to be related with Creative Cloud not syncing the book files properly. Any clue on the matter? We must store the project files on Creative Cloud so work from a network drive is not an option for us.

Yeah, you are absolutely right, we are using Google Drive for pretty much everything else, is way more faster, more reliable and is full featured (how about download entire folders Adobe or zero errors when syncing, Adobe?). And on top of this is cheaper (way more is you ask me).
Sadly, we really MUST work in Adobe CC for this particular project so no scape here.

  • Storing Email files on the cloud (maybe dropbox)?

I use the apple email client, and it works reasonably well for my purposes.  I like the fact that it is a local application, and can search through all of my old mail pretty quickly.  My one beef is that I use a mac at work, a mac at my home office and when I travel, I have my macbook air.  Anytime I change environments, I have to download all of my messages, and they appear that they haven't been dealt with.  What I want is to have one place to deal with all of my email accounts that is consistent between any of my environments.
So, the obvious solution is to have a web-based mail client.  However, that doesn't work when I'm not connected (like on a plane) and if I'm on a slow connection, I have the frustation of a slow mail experience.
The better choice would be to have all of my client files stored on my dropbox (not the mac dropbox, but the company dropbox.com).  Dropbox could handle all of the syncing, yet I could still have the benefit of a local mail client.
Can this work?  If not, any other ideas?
    Thanks!

I am not familiar with this problem, but so that you might get good advice I suggest you give more detail.
You say "it's locked". What is locked? How do you know it is locked? What happens when you try to use it?
When you say "uninstall Adobe and the cloud" what do you mean by "Adobe" and "the cloud" in this case? What specific Adobe software are you using?

  • Storing files on Creative Cloud

Can I store files on Creative Cloud to share them between my desk top and laptop computers?  If so how?

Its a web based interface for the moment at creative.adobe.com. However since there is no desktop app, it may be easier to just use dropbox, skydrive, drive, or even amazon cloud as those sync automatically between all machines with the app installed.

  • Sharing files with Creative cloud for teams

    HI,
I am looking at getting creative cloud for teams, but I want to keep our existing CS suite users who are already on maintenance plans.
Can I share files on the creative cloud  between these two types of users?
Does Adobe Bridge see these files ?
Is there any way of doing version control ?
We are also worried about this
"If a team member leaves the company, what happens to their files stored in Creative Cloud?
The IP is associated with the individual, not the company. The individual will have a 90-day grace period to delete their files."
Also we are in Australia and we are concerned about the speed. Can anyone advise what the speed is like ?
    rgds Renovator

Anyone who signs up for the Creative Cloud can share files. You do not need to be a Creative Cloud member to view a shared file, only to do the sharing.
Adobe Bridge does not see the files unless you use Creative Cloud Connection to sync the files to your local computer.
There is no version control yet. It is on our road map.
Being in Australia should not be an issue, but I will let other customers from Australia comment.

  • Does Photoshop CC store your files in the cloud?

Hi, I want to buy Photoshop CS6 (but not all other creative apps).  Whilst there are some versions of Photoshop CS6 available from some web suppliers such as Amazon and Apple Store, it seems that the only way to keep the software up to date is to get Photoshop CC.  Is that right?
If so, does Photoshop CC mean that you have to store all your files on the Cloud, or can I keep all my files on my desk top?  My preference is to not have anything stored on the cloud as I'm not sure who else can access it.
Sorry if these are basic / silly questions but from reading all information so far, I'm pretty confused.  Thanks in advance!
    Matt

Support for CS6 will eventually be dropped, yes... and you won't be seeing any snazzy new features in CS6 either.
You don't need to store any files in the Cloud if you don't want to. It works a bit like Dropbox, if you know how that works. So you can keep all your files locally!

  • Storing multiple DV files across CDs or DVDs via QTime

    Folks,
A couple of weeks ago, I attempted to get an answer to questions I had about storing multiple DV files across multiple DVDs or CDs using Quicktime. I failed to truly get a straight forward answer in non-techno English so having now acquired more info, here - for the non-geeks - is what I've learned in regular human non-geek English:
DVD Rs and CD Rs are pretty much the same thing. You have to check to make sure the drive you have on your computer CAN indeed "write" to these disks. You do that by pulling down the "About this Mac..." in the menu with the Apple icon.
Someone in the Comp Forum on Craigslist posted a terrific list of all the permutations of these types of storage disks with the minor differences between each (ex., DVD-RW vs. DVD+RW - some older machines cannot read one of these and I don't remember which). I can't find link to that post but you can try a search on CL or post there asking that the info be REposted. They're pretty nice there.
I haven't pursued determining whether Quicktime will store the multiple DV files across multiple disks but there is no need to since iMovie will do it. Each "clip" in iMovie is the equivlanet to a DV file so you can just drag each clip onto the icon of your DVD or CD. You'll be prompted for a name, et al.
My 1.5 hours of DV footage required 3.5 DVDs to store.
Each DV file is exactly that - a discrete file of video data similar to one specific MS Word file so - there is no need for any sort of program to sequentially store the files on multiple disks or bring them over FROM multiple disks. You the human do that just like when you store multiple documents on a bunch of disks.
File formats were also confusing to me and not really clearly explained here in regular-speak. The DV cam format that you can shoot in is video uncompressed. DV (file will be called "filename.dv" when it is in DV format) is compressed and there are a whole bunch of different compressed file formats. The MPEG term thrown around refers to the way a particular file of video data is compressed - the "compression scheme" used - i.e., there's MPEG 2, MPEG 4, etc. I don't remember what the acronym MPEG means but it's easy to find that out.
I hope the above is helpful to others like myself (and I already know I'm not alone via my research over the past 2 weeks) who have had a difficult time getting straight answers in understandable language regarding all of this.
I also got solutions to my PDA problem w/Tiger which I posted on the Apple Discussion site here. Getting a solution and answers there was more painful than getting this particular DVD/CD video stuff straightened out but both experiences suggest to me ...are you listening Apple... that the old school of tech writers and HI designers at Apple need to be "reinstalled".

Yes. If the data you choose to burn will take up more than one disk, spanning is automatically chosen and the interface tells you how many disks you'll need. You have the option to "Avoid splitting files when spanning". A good precautionary option if you're worried about an important file not reading back off a disk it has to cross over to. You end up with as many normal disks as it takes. There's no need to read them back in any particular order as long as you don't let it split files.
