Comp setting the same as magnification ratio? (AE CC)

Hello,
I've (sort of) made a flight map animation in after effects CC. But I think I've made a huge mistake.
I made everything perfect with the magnification ratio set at 100%. But when I saved everything I saw that it played everything at another magnification ratio.
Is it possible to save and render everything at the magnification ratio at 100%? Or crop everything to that window?
I want the movie to play like the upper image, but it plays like the lower one.
Can somebody help me out with my problem?

The magnification ratio is just a viewer setting. It has nothing to do with what is rendered to final output.
If you want to make a composition that crops off the area around the edges, I recommend doing this:
Create a new composition. Drag your existing composition into the new one. Scale and reposition the precomposition layer (the nested composition) within the new composition so that it is cropped the way that you want.

Hi Arti!
You can default user settings in a PFCG role, in the "personalization" tab.
If you have a PFCG role that is common to all your users, you can set the default values here.
However it does not prevent them to change these settings later, except if you modify the "user settings" fields properties in cProjects application.

Set the same dimensions to multiple objects

Is there a way how I could set the same width and height to the multiple selected objects with different dimensions? I don't wanna go through all of these objects one after another and set up the dimensions manually… Maybe a script would be available? See the example below. Thanks

How do I set the same DNS for both Extreme and Express?

I have an Airport Express that is configured to extend the network created and routed through my AirPort Extreme. However, when I connect to the network from the room where the Extreme is, I need to have the automatic DNS in place in order to connect. If, later, I want to connect to the same network from another room through the Express that is extending it, I must replace the automatic DNS with 4.2.2.4 or there is no internet connection. I was wondering if anybody could walk me through properly configuring the devices to avoid having to change DNS when I move elsewhere in the house that is not directly covered by the Extreme main base. I am only experiencing these issues with my iPads, by the way. hank you.

No need to manually set DNS on any of the extending devices.....that is handled automatically during the setup.
The real issue here is not DNS.....it is that iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad do not usually switch wireless access points automatically when there are multiple devices delivering a wireless signal.
The iOS devices tend to connect to the first wireless router that they see.....and if you move the iOS device near another wireless access point that has a much better signal......the iOS device will stubbornly try to hold onto the original wireless access point.
Not much that you can do about that.....nature of beast with iOS devices due to their much simpler operating systems and antenna.
If you want to move the iPhone or iPad to another area, try turning off Wi-Fi on the device, then move it to the other area near another access point, wait a minute or two, and then turn WiFi back on. That will usually force the iOS device to pick up the signal from the closer AirPort access point.
By contrast, a Mac computer will automatically switch wireless access points as you "walk" it through the house to pick up the access point with the strongest signal. That is the way that iOS should work as well, but we'll have to wait to see if Apple ever delivers on this.
Lately....maybe due to an update....my iPhone will sometimes switch to a closer access point after a few minutes. My MacBook Pro switches quickly and automatically as soon as it moves closer to another wireless access point as I walk it down the hall.

Can takes from more than one track be comped at the same time?

Or perhaps I did not understand the suggested solutions to the problem. I will ask the question in a slightly different way...
Suppose that I record guitar with 2 microphones (a pickup mic, and a room mic). The first microphone is recorded onto track 1, the second microphone is recorded onto track 2. Multiple takes are done in this manner. When it comes time to comp the tracks, how is it done? Can the takes from more than one track be comped together at the same time? I have tried to do this by grouping both tracks together, but it does not work.

You had the right idea grouping the tracks together. You must make sure that in the group settings, the box titled "region selection (edit)" is checked. This will allow you to make the same cuts (or in this case, swipes) on all regions in the group.

DCIteratorBinding setting the same value for all the rows.

I have table with on of the column as id. I have made the id column as the hyper link , that takes me to the next page. I am trying to pass the id to the next page. I am using the managed bean for the same. The below code is used to create the link on the column. It sets the action to the function in the bean that sets the id as of the current row.

I am printing the id value on to the next page. But its just returning the vslue of the id for the first row for all the rows of the table.
Any inputs as in do i need to refresh the iterator or something like that.

Can i set the same email account as POP on MacBook and IMAP on iPhone and iPad?

I got an email account which is currently POP, it was setup on my MacBook, iPhone and iPad. Since POP cannot sync the read email, every time i have to read them on three devices - MacBook, iPhone and iPad, or it shows loads of unread mails.
I heard IMAP can solve this problem, but after set the email account up as IMAP, loads of my emails lost! Luckily most of those emails are restored from Time Machine. IMAP is too dangerous, so i changed back to POP.
Now i'm still surffering from read emails three times, i wonder anyway to fix this problem? can i set the email account as POP on MacBook and IMAP on iPhone and iPad?

Normally, at least all smartphones I've used, do not delete things from the server. The Email programs on phones know enough not to delete emails you delete on the phone from the email server so you can still get them on your computer. I personally don't need or want all my emails on my phone. It is good to check emails and reply it ones that need a reply right then but otherwise I want them on my computers. Using IMAP on phone/pad may not act the same as POP and may interact with the server differently, deleting email I don't want on my phone from the server.
I do have one IMAP email address on my phone, Google with Google Mail. All others access the servers with POP.

Viewing two comps at the same time?

Comp A is nested into Comp B.
Is there a way I can view Comps A & B at the same time? I want to make changes on Comp A's Timeline, but I also want to see how the changes affect Comp B.
This is probably something very easy, and I simply don't know how to do it, sorry.

Use the drop down menu at the top of the Viewer window to create new Viewers, and to lock those Viewers to specific comps.

The iPhone update 8.3 (12F70) is making my home screen wallpapers darker than the picture itself. Even if I set the same picture as home and lock screen wallpaper, the home screen image is noticeably darker. How can I change this?

Is anyone else noticing the same issue?
I'm really unhappy with the upgrade, the darker home screen images alters the coloring and detracts from the overall "light" feeling.

Setting the same CPU for processor Affinity and I/O affinity..

I have a server with two sql server instances and 32 CPU in which I have to give 16 CPU - 16 CPU to each SQL instance.
each CPU has both processor Affinity and I/O affinity.
As per Microsoft we should not assign both processor Affinity and I/O affinity to the same CPU.
What would be the best practice in My case??
I am using SQL Server 2014 SE on Windows server 2012.

I would assign 8 CPUs to affinity mask (CPU) and 8 CPUs to I/O affinity mask per instance.

1. In WSIM, I did not find a way to set the partition aligment. Is it possible ?

Hi,
We cannot set the partition aligment in WSIM. To set up the disk partition offset of a volume (or partition), you can either use Diskpart.exe or WMI script.

Diskpart isn't always the best tool to use to get partition offsets, as it rounds up the values, and when there are multiple partitions, it can be hard to tell exactly what's what, especially with lots of disks where you need to select each one and then
list the partitions.
In this case, use wmic to get the exact numbers. The command is as follows:
wmic partition get BlockSize, StartingOffset, Name, Index

When I open a new tab, I have to move to the other side of the page to click "home". Can I set the same "home" default for new tabs?

My home page opens in the initial FireFox window, but new tabs open with a blank page. To get to my default page I have to click "home", but now it's way over on the other side of the page.

Sorry, but that's not possible.
An alternative might be to use Zoom in System Preferences > Accessibility
Or try a different screen resolutioin in System Preferences > Displays > Scaled
