Compact DAQ 9215 BNC module -- Error code -200278 occured at DAQmx read

Hi,
I am trying to read data from a sensor giving an output between +/- 300mv. It is connected to the 9215 BNC module on the Compact DAQ chassis. When i try to acquire any number of samples at any frequency it comes up with an error message at the end (-200278). I have attached the screenshot of the error message.
The program displays information in realtime in a waveform chart on the front panel as the  samples are acquired and also writes them onto a lvm file. I have also attached the vi of the program.
Please help me as i cannot solve this problem. All help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Harshil

Hi,
Thanks for the help. I have tried to use arrays to
store the data before i write to the file. The problem is when it writes at the
end, the format changes and i do not get the channel name and the dt
value (time interval between samples).
Also if i select more than two channels than i do not get two colums in
the output file but one column with both the values of the channels one after the other and thus becomes very hard to make where one channel ends the other begins.
Please help on how to get round this.
Harshil

  • Unable to read data from Analog Devices 6b11 module - error code 1240

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to read data from a thermocouple with an AD 6B11 module in an AD 6BP16-1 backplane using RS232 serial. I've been following this guide:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8C77E5E52B4A27968625611600559421
Everything seems to work out well until step 13, where I call the "AD6B Input Module - Read Data.VI". I get an error code 1240 stating something like "invalid parameter or unable to read instrument".
Has anyone got any experience with this error or suggestions to fixing it?
    Thanks in advance!

That user guide is 20+ years old. The serial functions from that day used 0 for com 1, 1 for com 2, etc. Make sure you have the correct one selected. Please provide the exact error message instead of 'something like'.

  • LabVIEW FPGA Module Error Code 10 when creating bitfile

Any help would be appreciated.  I am not very familiar with LabView, and am trying to run code generated by a grad student several summers ago.  If more information is needed, let me know and I will try to provide it.
    Thanks

It sounds like the compiler is having some trouble creating a folder that it needs to generate the bitfile.  First, check all of the usual things: are you an administrator? do you have worte access to the "FPGA Bitfiles" folder in your project?
If it looks like you should be able to write the file, you can try posting your project (zipped) and let someone on the boards try to compile it (be sure to let us know what the versoin is). If we can compile it without issue you may want to try repairing your FPGA module installation.

  • Mount_webdav: Error Code -8060 occur, if i want to open the share in my finder window

    Hello,
since the update from 10.6 to 10.7.1 i cant use some webdav shares anymore.
Every time when i mount our webdav share and open it afterwards in a Finder window the error
    The operation can't be completed:
An unexpected error occurred (error code -8060)
does anyone know something about this or a similar problem?
    best regards,
    martin

    Hello,
Last night I upgraded my NAS firmware (Netgear Stora) and now I have exactly the same problem.
The Admin account Finder locks when trying to mount the AFP share. If I force unmount (sudo umount -f ...) then I see the same Finder error message code 8060. Any other account (and any other Mac) mounts the same share OK.
Strangely, manually mounting the share via Terminal works perfectly. So does SMB mounting via the Finder.
I've tried deleting all Finder and AppleShareClient preferences, with no effect.
For some reason the Finder in the admin account can't complete the mount (permissions maybe?).

  • Error code 1 occurs with build of .exe (problem VI attached)

The problem I have been having with a particular project has been posted many times by others.  I have read through many of the threads related to this (or somewhat related to it).  I've tried some things but not all.  I finally started disabling sections of my code to see if the error went away.  I have tracked it down to the attached VI.  The error code is also attached.  Can someone analyze this VI and see what the problem could be?  It uses .NET objects, so I am not sure exactly what the compiler is looking for.  I should note that this is not my VI, but one I copied from the forum here.  As far as e-mail, the VI works great in development mode, but obviously I desire a stand-alone application.
Also note that I created a new project and dropped this VI on the top-level VI and it built an .exe just fine, which doesn't make any sense to me. Perhaps someone can shed some light on this issue.  When I tried moving it back to the original project, it failed the build.  If all instances of this VI are disabled in my project (using a disable diagram), it builds the project with no errors.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I have the same problem, me too.
It took often some time to be able to compile my project. I modified some code in some VIs (but keeping the functionality) until I modified the blocking part by hazard and compile worked. But today it takes me hours and I am still trying on.
When I remember right the message most often told me about a broken VI. (But there was none.) But today I got the same error message as you. There is no helpful information included:

Any hints how to quickly identify the problematic code?
(My guess was that it could have something to do with upconverted VIs containing a conditional disable structure. But it looked like this was not always the case.)

  • Getting error code -1967353908 when trying to read a modbus address

I'm using the Modbus I/O server in LabVIEW 2010 to communicate with a Kohler generator.  A vendor was able to supply with the the Modbus address mapping so that I'd know what addresses correspond to what IO points.  One of the addresses is 40126 which I create in the Modbus I/O server as 400126 since it requires six digit addressing.  Well, that worked but only temporarily.  Not too long after I begin trying to make sense of the values read, the shared variable begins showing error -1967353908.  The description for this error is "The specified data item address is not an allowable address for the Modbus slave device. Refer to the documentation of the Modbus slave device for information about supported addresses."
What I don't understand is why it works one minute and stops working the next.  Also, I know that the Modbus server itself is not erroring b/c in my VI there are other boolean bit addresses that continue to report good data.  Can anyone assist in helping me figure this one out?  Thanks.
    Ryan R.

    Ryan,
This error may occur with certain Modbus slave devices, because the I/O actually queries for a range of addresses, some of which may not exist on the device.  To remedy this issues, reduce the number of Holding Registers in the Advanced Settings of the IO Server to 1.

  • Help on Error Code -200279

This block of code was working perfectly fine until yesterday - now I'm getting an error code -200279 every time it runs. I don't believe I changed anything. Attached is the block of code.
From the hardware side, I have a shunt installed inline with a valve that is outputting a small voltage (~0.5V) when the valve is powered on. I have a relay (NI 9481 module) turning the valve on and off (the true/false cases) and I'm trying to measure the analog voltage out of the shunt (NI 9205 module). Basically I only want 2 seconds of data and the for loop waits 499 counts (0.5 seconds) before turning the valve on.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I have independently verified that the AI module is working properly (in MAX) and that the shunt is outputting about 0.5V when the valve is powered on.
    Thanks for the help!
Here are details from the error:
Error -200279 occurred at DAQmx Read (Analog DBL 1Chan 1Samp).vi:1
    Possible reason(s):
Attempted to read samples that are no longer available. The requested sample was previously available, but has since been overwritten.
Increasing the buffer size, reading the data more frequently, or specifying a fixed number of samples to read instead of reading all available samples might correct the problem.

     Hi Erik,
When you say you have independently verified that the AI module is working properly; does that mean you have started a test panel in MAX and watched the analog input voltage while powering
    the valve on and off?
Can you put a handheld multimeter across the shunt and measure the output voltage while the NI-9205 is measuring as well?
Try a different input channel with your NI-9205? or a different NI-9205 if you have one available.

  • Error Code 88709 Reading NI USB-6225 OEM

We have an issue that exists on one of two nearly identical systems that use NI USB-6225 OEM cards.  We are reading 75 channels at 1 kHz once per second.  On one of two systems the Error Code -88079 occurs intermittantly and when this happens the DAQ measurements stop though the code does not freeze.  We do not write to the 6225 card, the only thing we are doing is reading the AI channels.
Our LabVIEW version is 2013 SP1 f2 and NI-DAQmx is version 14.1.  NI MAX is v14.0.0f0.
The first system runs on a Windows 7 desktop workstation and has serial mass flow controller software with timers to change flow and concentrations based on a control file as well as a MODBUS TCP NDIR interface.  This system is complex but works perfectly.
The second system runs on a Windows 8 laptop.  The mass flow software, timers, and NDIR interface were removed from the code of the first system to simplify the software for the second system.
It is only the second system that produces the Error Code -88079.  This can happen once a month or several times a day.
I've removed all the 'bloatware' from the Windows 8 laptop and ensured that nothing is set to hybernate or sleep and also turned off the Windows and other automatic updates because these systems must run 24/7 for a year.
So, what is the best resolution for the Error Code -88079 problem with the second system?
The DAQ card was calibrated and tested ISO-17025 through NI by an independant agency so it is not likely to be faulty but we could replace it with another (not ISO-17025) card we have on hand for diagnosis
The USB cable is a possibility.  We could obtain a high quality USB cable and make sure the ends fit tightly.  Disconnecting the USB cable when the code is running produces Error Code -88079...
    Any other suggestions?
    Warm Regards,
    Lloyd

    Hi Saturn233207,
Could you give more detail about the error that you are getting? What are the steps to reproduce the error? Is there any descriptive text at all in the error dialog box - maybe post a screenshot of the error?
Also, as you mentioned I believe it would be a good idea to ensure that you are using a quality USB cable.

If by chance you are using an earlier version of the NI-DAQ driver that supports your card, you may not have Measurement and Automation Explorer on your system. If so, you should use the NI-DAQ Configuration Utility to check your card's functionality. I agree with the first suggestion that something has altered the configuration of the card.
You didn't specify your card, OS, or whether you were using a VI in LabVIEW or an EXE and the run-time engine, so it's difficult to give a good diagnosis.
It may be worth your time to run through the online DAQ Troubleshooting pages in the support section of ni.com:
    http://www.ni.com/support/daq/
If you do have an older NI-DAQ driver version, it might also be worth your while to update it so that you get better support on any futu
    re problems that crop up.
