Company changed email server on me!

Hi All,
I was accessing my company email through the 'other' type for email set up, where I just list my email address, password and email server name as the company doesn't have a BES. Worked happily for ages and then they upgraded the server and so changed the server name. Unfortunately I didn't see the edit capabilitiy on my Curve in the account settings and followed the alternative route - delete the account and add a new one - thinking this woudl be simple.
I deleted the account and went to add a new one (my gmail account is still working OK). I selected 'other' entered my email account and password and clicked on continue - it says it cannot verify my email address and won't let me continue!!!!!
I have pulled the battery out to reset; and have loaded a backup thinking it would return the email set up I had removed so i could just edit it. Unfortunately nothing works.
I suspect that the old email server name is in there somewhere and when i put my email address in it looks at that old server - which nolonger exists, and so can't verify. I need some way of being able to get to some panel that lets me change to the new server name but I can't find any way to do that.
Hence this cry for help.

Do you know what type the email server might be? Is it OWA Outlook Web Access?

Is it possible to sync the iphone with my company's email server

Is it possible to sync the iphone with my company's email server (Novell Groupwise)? I have the option of getting a blackberry or iphone. I want the iphone, but I also want to be able to sync it with my work email since I am away from the office a lot. I know I need to contact the IT department, but I thought I would try here to see what experiences people had with this sistuation. Thanks.

Depends on what protocols they will allow (or can). If they open up POP or better yet IMAP access, then yes, sure. It is all about the protocols available to you (them). Though note, the iPhone checks on an interval where the Blackberry has emails pushed to it. So with iPhone, the min interval time is 15mins.

Need to change email server type

I just got the 8350i and for some reason, when i add my email address, the automatic configuration makes my sever type an IMAP4, when i should be a POP3. I have a copy of my emails stayign on the server from my Outlook settings, but i need to find out how to manually change my server type. Sprint was no help to me and said they could not fix the problem. I can send emails, but not receive......

You cannot force BIS to connect as POP or IMAP -- rather, it picks the best it finds on the server you specify. To use a different service, your provider needs to configure POP and IMAP on separate servers. You cannot override how it configures.
Occam's Razor nearly always applies when troubleshooting technology issues!

Lower Modem Firewall Settings to Change Email Server Settings

after weeks of being unable to make the new settings work - then following what one of the other contributors wrote - I changed the firewall setting on my Verizon provided Modem to LOW - now all is OK
medium and high settings will not allow the new settings to go through
suggest anyone with problems with new settings try same fix
Note: check the model number of your modem and download the user manual from Verizon website for instructions on how to change firewall settings

I have forgot my password. My company changed emails and I can no longer get to the email address that was set up on my iPad.

Ihave forgot my password to my account. ( I set a new one up to do this). When I go on to retrieve my password, it mails it to an email address I can no longer get to. I always use the same combination of passwords, so I know it is something simple. I am trying to get to my iCloud account and retreive my apps for my iPad.

If you can verify the serial number of an apple product registerd in your name, and can verify your apple id, and possibly some other info (credit card on file is a good one) you can call 1-800-APL-CARE. The tech should be able to verify this info, and if so can transfer you to account security.

AT&T Email Server Set Up on Samsung Charge Android Problem

Has anyone had this same problem?
Problem: I get "Setup could not finish - Cannot connect to server" error when trying to update AT&T email (sbcglobal.net) server settings. AT&T changed email server setup on December 11th. I can get the correct setup and connection via Windows Mail on my Vista desktop pc. AT&T email server settings can be found here => http://www.att.com/updatesettings. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem and spent time on the AT&T help line but they could not help with the Verizon Samsung Droid issue. I got my Outlook to work on the desktop and the setup is basically the same. I think the problem is in the Desktop setup in E-Mail Settings on the Advanced Tab there is a check box with a label that says "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) that AT&T requires to be checked. The email setup form on the Samsung Droid does not have that check box or option, so the server will not let the phone connect.

Server Name Issues (Cable Company Changed, lost Email Server)

Please bear with me as I have a limited knowledge in the finer aspects of the server world. I have searched all over for help with my problem and I have been unsuccessful. I am hoping someone here can help me.
My X Server virtually hosts several websites as well as email for these domains (including my main email, which is probably why I'm freaking out the most!) through one static IP from my cable company. When I set up my server, I had a wonderful Apple rep who took the time to hold my hand and walk me through the setup of my mail server, the only part I just couldn't seem to get a grip on.
Everything has been working fine! No problems!
Until...my cable company changed (without warning). Adelphia was taken over in this region by Comcast last Monday. I am assuming this is the issue since it is the only thing that has changed.
My mail server is no longer receiving mail, it is bouncing everything back. I can't send mail either. I really have no idea where to start poking around. I did have it up briefly on Sunday while I was tooling around (not sure what I did) but that brought internet access across the network down. I restored values from my plist files to get the network back up, but lost mail in the process again.
Any ideas? Where should I be looking?

I have been shut down from my previous email address as I left my company's email system, I am now on gmail and have changed my Apple Id and password successfully unfortunately I dont understand what I need to do to change my ICloud, IFace etc...ID?

First thing to try is just to sign out on all your devices. If you can do that you can just sign in with the new ID. However if you've set up 'Find My iPhone' you won't be able to.
In that event go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. How do I change an email server address?

To get work emails, I set up my Exchange ActiveSync months ago and it worked flawlessly. My company just changed email servers and I now get a sync error (understandable). However, when I go to account settings to try and change the server address to the new server, all I can change is the password. No matter how I get to any page where it'll supposedly let me configure the settings of a current email account, all the info but password is "grayed out" - for lack of a better term.
I know I can just create a new account with the new settings and delete the old one. My concern doing that is that all the linked contacts on my phone will unlink with the old one and I'll have to re-link them with the new one. Ugh!
Any help in this matter will be much appreciated.

@mayerpl, unfortunately there is NO way to rename the server for Exchange ActiveSync configuration. First you will have to remove the existing account and re-add it. Now here is the interesting part, HTC stores the links between contacts as additional inforamtion in the "Notes" field of your contact data (i think!). Atleast I have seen it. I think it stores the link in the account that you initially chose to link others with. So in some cases I have the link data in my exchange account, and in others I have it in my GMail.
In any case, it is highly likely that your links MAY be restored when you re-add the account. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee it, and the only way you will find out is by doing it! But given the fact that there is no way to change the server without removing and re-adding the account, you are out of options.
If you do decide to remove and re-add, please post back and let me know if the links were reserved or you had to do them again.

I changed ISPs and had to change the server settings. Now one of my two email addresses crashes every time I try to read the emails.

At first Thunderbird downloaded every email from the problem account going back to 2011. I changed the server settings to only download emails from the last 15 days and to delete any messages older than 15 days.
I can send emails from this account and my other email account works fine for sending and reading mail. However, this problem account crashes Thunderbird every time I try to read the messages. There are now only 300 messages in the inbox and I've been able to have them marked as read. But I still can't read any of them.
What's the fix on this?

Try to start *Windows* in safe mode with networking enabled.

Can you send email ok via the Apple Mail application?
The username and password are set in the Accounts section of the Mail application. Start Mail, select preferences and select Accounts. Then make absolutely sure that the username, password and outgoing mail server are entered correctly.

Help! Email server switched. Can't change old or add new on Blackberry

My work email server was changed to use google apps. My problem is:
My email address itself has not changed. I tried adding a new email account on the blackberry and it says it already exists. I tried changing the old and it tells me the info is incorrect and reverts to old info. This may be because the user name and password has changed and I cannot change the user name. It will not allow me to access that field. Any ideas?
I do not want to lose access to emails from the old server on my blackberry so I am afraid to delete the old account.

I fixed it..sort of.
Using the link below, BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) sent an email with a link to set up the email through the web. It was a very quick and easy set-up for Google App Email. No guessing settings - it just worked. And it allowed me to have two email set-ups with the same email address..sort of.
There was no way to have two mail folders on the phone with the old mail & new, but by doing it this way, a new folder was set up on my phone for the new address, and all the old messages remained in the Main Message folder. I don't know if that would have happened if I deleted the old account. I read a lot of people having trouble with Google Apps setup so this is definitely the way to go:

Incidentally, my first thought was to map a network share from the NAS to my computer, so that my music files appear on the Z: drive, say on my computer. I could then set up iTunes to store music etc in that folder, and to copy all new items to that folder. However, if I do that, all that'll happen is that on my NAS, the library file will become out of date as I add music to the collection but not to the index.
