Company logo looks bad

For some reason or company logo looks like $hit when viewed on a TV monitor. What's the best way to import a logo in FCP? JPG or Photoshop? What format? How should it be saved?

I asked a similar question yesterday about which formats support Alpha channels and David Slater answered my question. I knew .png did, but he said tiff and photoshop did also.
I had 10 either eps files or scanned logos provided to me for a project that I opened in PS, did my thing on them to get just the logos and not the white background, and saved as .png. 8 worked, 2 had white artifacts all over them ONLY when rendered. Saving those two as tiffs did the trick. I had trouble getting what I wanted when saved as photoshop.
I think one of them had been in CMYK color space which may have been the problem. The other one was definitely in RGB so I don't know why it wasn't working.

I'm trying to export my logo so I can supply it to someone to

import those files back in they are considerable rough compared to

Profitweb01, what type of file does your print shop need from
you?
if they can print from freehand, then create everything in
freehand including your logo, you can import the original Freehand
logo file into your new layout
if they need a postscript file of some kind then eps should
be fine, just be sure that you use colors from the same color
space, ie all cmyk, or all spot colors etc
an eps (encapsulated postscript) file contains 2 parts, a low
res header and the actual postscript data.
when you import the eps file into freehand, what you see on
screen is the low res header, this is normal, this is there for
positional purposes only, your print shop will print to a
postscript device of some description which will access the
encapsulated postscript part of the file,
If you print from a pc? then have a look online for
postscript printing software that can be used with your desktop
printer, this will allow you to see the actual high res version of
your document, I'm not sure whats available for windows as I only
use Mac, but I'm sure there's probably an affordable solution out
there somewhere.
you can of course print through Adobe Acrobat distiller to
produce a press ready pdf, however this is quite an expensive
option.

I have try to use the "Link File" tool and it required me to specify the "Source Filename". So if I put the file path and filename in the "Source Filename", it's hardcoded...
How to specify the "Source Filename" at run time or any otherway so that it won't hardcoded?

Note that you can also use the read from file functionality.
If you have a character based column, then any layout field based on this column will have the Read From File property. If this is set to Yes, then reports will attempt to use the value of the column to read a file from the file system. You can also specify the type of the file (image, text, or even an image URL to read an image from over the web).
For example, if you have a column in the data model that returns a value ("c:\temp\mypicture.bmp"), and you set the Read From File property to Yes, and the File Format to be Image then at runtime, reports would look for c:\temp\myimage.bmp and return the value. And of course, since you can create a formula column in the data model then you can control the returned value as much as you like.

I am doing mxml flex4 web application. i am using a login in my application. this login for multi user purpose.
My need is when a user login using his username and password his company logo should show the top of my application and his copyright details show the bottom of my application
if another user login means his company logo and copywrights should show in my application.
This logo and copyrights details should change dynamically based on the login information.
I want to create this using CSS file (skins and sparks)
How to do this,i am struck in this place,

If the user is logging in, presumably you are having the user hit a back end web-server and database and using something like Blaze to connect? Right?
I personally would not do this with CSS. I would map the company icons to the users in the DB, retrieve the proper company icon and then pass it down (or embed it in the app) when the user logs in. Then, I would just set the source of the icon to be what I passed down:
Add your image where you want it to go:
<s:Image id="emptyImage" x="locationx" y="locationy".../>
Then in your ActionScript, when the user logs in and you know what company the user belongs you could do this:

Converting Company Logo from PDF file to...

Forum,
I had my company logo emailed to me as a PDF file. Can somebody please tell me what I need to convert this to in order to:
1) Use as a background on my desktop?
2) and this is a big one - be able to resize it so it doesn't look to visibly small on the tv/computer screen during playback of the end product?

Hey Trey, How's things?
Open the pdf in Preview. Hit the command and + keys till you get the size you want.
Press shift command and 3 to make a screenshot. It will land up on your Desktop with the name Picture1.
Open the result in Preview and crop off any menus.
Save and drag it to Hard Drive/Library/Desktop Pictures.
Open System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver > Desktop.
Locate and double click your picture to set it as your background.
For the second part of your question, make a copy of Picture1 (command D) and import it into FCP. Use the scale control to adjust if needed.

Logo looks flattened

I have recently created a business card and when our company logo was incorporated the letters of the logo look flat.
The business card is standard size with the the original imported logo image being 6000x4200 png file. I tried making the size smaller by dragging the corner point to a smaller dimension but the result is flattened image that loses crispness.
Should I be using the png file or would it be best to work with the original .ai vectored file?

It's hard to understand what you mean by "flat" seeing as logos are, in essence, actually flat. Do you mean that you are working on a logo that should have a 3d effect or a hint of depth and resizing messes it up? Good logos should be scalable and would not get distorted no matter what size you make them.

Adding company logo to email messages?

I'd like to add my company logo to my Apple Mail Signature, but I'm not sure how to do this without it becoming an attachment. I'm assuming I'll need to include a link to an external website that stores the logo. If so, is there a way I can use my iDisk account to facilitate this?

I would use a JPG but you could use a PNG or a GIF. If the logo has been created in Photoshop or Indesign (doesn't really matter how it has been created really) but a compressed image will save a bit of space.
Something to be aware of is that some Mail servers are set up by some companies to convert HTML or rich text emails into plain text so any image may end up as an attachment in that scenario. While it might look nice and pretty when it leaves you, that may not be the case when delivered.

Radio buttons determine which company logo is displayed

In ES9 I created a form using the Action Builder feature where the first line is two radio buttons for the user to select which of our two companies they work for. Depending on their selection, the corresponding company logo is changed from invisible to visible on the Master Page. This works fine but when a second page is generated dynamically, the logo is only displayed on page one. How do I get to display on all subsequent pages generated?

I believe what is happening is that when a new page is being rendered, it reverts the image objects to their default/initial state (in your case probably hidden).
Have a look at this example: http://assure.ly/mcFrC6. In particular the script on page 1. This demonstrates how you can assign the rawValue of an ImageField to any existing Image object. While the example is on the Design pages, the same approach would be used on a Master page.
Set up an ImageField object on the Master page, without a default image and without a caption.
Set its binding to Global.
Set up two Image objects and link the two logos.
Set these Image objects to hidden.
Then the script would follow the example, where it would set the value of the ImageField to match the value of the appropriate Image object (logo).
I can confirm that this will work, but can't share an example.

To change the logo follow these steps:
1) Go to <Drive default is>C:\usr\sap\< your db, CE1 is the default value>\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com\xappscpmsm~strategymanagement\servlet_jsp\strategy\root\files
2) You are looking for saplogo.jpg there. Back up that file, rename, and save.
3) Add in your logo renaming that file as saplogo.jpg
(Note: Take care in the size of your logo. There is very little 'real estate' for logos in the application. If your image's dimensions are too large, the image will be cut off.)
4) Good idea to delete your Explorer cache, go to Tools>Internet Options>General, under Temporary Internet Files click Delete Files.

So, just add ur logo in the standard text ADRS_SENDER in SO10, you will c it in the sap script layout.
But, i am not sure how this variable &T001G-TXTAB& gets populated and if it will get changed for soem other value.

How to ... Generate PDF from BexWAD Application with company Logo in header

Hi all profis,
I read many theories (on-line help, sdn forum, google) about creating a PDF document with pictures, logos, texts and so on, but in each of them is some "...but, limitations, only if ..."
The easiest way, I guess is to create a BexWAD Application with item "REPORT" and "ANALYSIS ITEM".
In REPORT - a crystal report page, is saved company logo with text
ANALYSIS item includes data
Via Export (into PDF) those both items has to be exported. The only topic is, how to repeat the report item on each page of a PDF document? There is a possibility to repeat column names, but not a company logos as a header.
I will ask in general -> Does someone has a solution, how to export data from SAP BI into PDF including Logo and Text(Company Adress) in header (which will repeat on each page) ??

I have another idea to create a PDF file with company logo and hierarchical structure of data.
Via Report designer, it is not possible to display data in hierarchical structure, but it is possible to add logo (picture) into header.
Via WADWeb Application designer, it is possible to display data with a hierarchy, but a logo is not shown on each page.
Via InformationBroadcaster, there is a possibility to add into header a free text. There is an option <PR_ONLINE_LINK> . Can I create another element (new, own one), which will contain a picture? How can I edit this element <PR_ONLINE_LINK> ? Would it be possible to add there a picture?

My guess is the problem with the square is being caused by incomplete or broken html in the Email Signature. I think the Signature panel doesn't know how to fix HTML. But the email app does... so this is why you copy a complete & pre-formatted email message: entirely.
I walked through the directions above, exactly, and it works with (in my case) even oversized JPG files in the signature.
By copy and pasting the whole message body, you'll retain the html formatting &, in my case, the image too. Running iOS 8.1 & it worked after a few tries.
Keep trying combinations... you'll get it.
