Company LOGO , Send Mail to return value, Portals Link

Hello Friends
We are in the process of designing a workflow to, amongst other things, send an email notifications to employees informing them thet their Pay statements can be viewed via portals (My ESS). Within the email we need to ask the employee if he/she wants to be reminded in 24 hours with another email.
I am wondering if in the past you have sucessfuly:
- Put a company logo in email being sent with the Send_Mail task thru workflow
- Used SEND MAIL too send a link to portals ?
- Allowed to employee to click on "Remind me later" in the email and update the workflow to send a
follow up email in 24 hours.
Example of email is as per below:

You have received an e-mail delivery from XXXXXXXXXXXX that your Payroll statement is ready for viewing in ESS.
To log in to ESS, go to LINK
Click on the Remind me button to receive a reminder in approximately 24 hours
Remind me later!
Any input / suggestions you can provide to the above will be well received, thanks

In Workitem you can bring the Logo, But in the email you can send as attachment only.

I am able to create a html template in mime repository and able to send the template in a mail using cl_bcs. the problem is the comapny logo is not coming in the mail with the template . instead some text 'cid:image000..' is displayed in the paceholder of the company logo. how can I pass the logo or image ... as a html template through cl_bcs.

I think you can setup the type of email in Shared office Settings in transaction S016.
There is an option called <Preset document classes>
You choose this pushbutton to branch to the maintenance screen for the document classes that are directly displayed to users in the Business Workplace for selection when they use the Create function. The name under which the documents are displayed can also be maintained.

Sending mail based on values in report

hi ,
i have i requirement like sending mails to user if the values in the report exceeds some threshold.
and user should be able to configure these mail settinigs. can any just tell me wether it is possible or not.

Hi siva ganesh,
If you are on version 3.0 or greater then it would be possible to do something with dynamic recipients in a publication. You would write your main report to return the data with no conditions on it.
You would then write a report which returns a list of users who have past there threashold value. The publication would use this report to determine who should receive the report. To do this you would have to write a little app to get the users threashold into the reporting database.
Failing that you would have to write something using the SDK

You mean in PFR of controller , ie after user selects a record from LOV window and after its populated back into to the textItem on the main entry form ??
The value is displayed correctly in the intended textItem which has viewInstance and viewValue attached to it .
so this is what setup looks like
Entry form
Customer Name - lov
Customer Number(d) - Display Only - Populated by Lovmappings from LOV - mapped to Customer Number attribute on LOV window. It also has viewInstance and ViewAttrib assigned to it .
Save Action
At this point of time , i am assuming i already have value in Customer Number(d)since its displayed on the screen,rite ??
or Do i have to take the value in formValue and then explicitly do a setAttribute to set that value to view object /Customer Number(d)

Has anything changed with Mail 6 (10.8.1) in the way you create a link - paste (or type) it and press Return/Enter?

I enter a valid url in the body of a mail message, press return and I get this:

Error occured while sending mail SO_OBJECT_SEND

Hi all,
While using ME23n for print preview of a PO I m getting the below error :
Error occured while sending mail SO_OBJECT_SEND,return code Z8.
The problem is this FM : SO_OBJECT_SEND is not explicitly used in the Driver program.
In debugging mode if I set a Break-point at SO_OBJECT_SEND, it shows BREAKPOINT set,
but doesnt stop at that place.
If any one of you know the solution or if you can suggest some points regarding this problem,
it will be of great help...

If it is not stoping means may be the so_document_object is calling based on any condtion.
Y u can't you go ur driver program and search for the FM.
Otherwise put the break point at the statement 'CALL FUNCTION'.

Company logo not appearing in PDF (generated from Web Report)

Hello all,
I have created a Web-Report using WAD and have my company logo followed by the reporting values. When I export this report as a PDF, I get to see all the values etc except the company logo. Could someone help me out with this issue pls.

We've had the same issue and found no solution for this. There just isn't a way to add an image to a by SAP generated PDF file. The only thing that did work was adding the image to a report and adding the report to the web template. In that case the image is printed but on a seperate page.

I'm trying to send mail from PL/SQL (Database) with the help of UTL_SMTP.
The pre-requisites for doing this are
1) TCP/IP network.
2) SMTP installation and accesibilty
3) Oracle JServer installation.
How do I check whether my database is having these three pre-requisites.

There nothing such prerequites, just u contact ur net admin team to relase your
SMTP port in association with your empid id. and chk the port no 25 is also relased.
And creating the procedure for sending mails. Refer the following link.

Does anyone know how to change the URL of the "Return to Portal" link that is used on the different navigation pages? I've seen ways to fix it on version 9 but not on 10.1.2.

You need to change it in OID. With the 10g version there is a new feature called the service registry. Take email for example under cn=VirtualServices,cn=Email,cn=Services,cn=OracleContext
there are a number of different URLs that can be modified, including the return to portal link.

When adding in a small company logo to the signature, PC's / windows computers only receive signature and logo as attachments.
I've tried all possible fixes I can find including getting a PC user to format the logo but no joy. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on a fix gratefully received.

I assume that the login ID is SUNIL and the expression is fetching the 'US' appended value as USSUNIL.
Please check the datatype of the fetched value. It should be WFSYST-AGENT.

Problem while sending mail -Logo not appearing.

The requirement is to send a message as a text and not as a PDF attachment to a recepient.
( I am converting the smartform code into HTML format - I referred to url
/people/pavan.bayyapu/blog/2005/08/30/sending-html-email-from-sap-crmerp which contains the rough code ) and am sending the mail to the
recepient.
The mail is getting generated, the text of the message is getting properly formatted as desired.
But the company logo is not appearing .
I am able to see the logo when I send the mail to my employer's mail server outlook, but am unable to see
the logo when I send the mail to the customer's mail server in outlook.
Can anybody suggest what could be going wrong?

I tried 2 methods :
1. I attached the logo to the smartform and sent the mail to my employer's mail id and
my customer's mail id.
I am able to get the logo and text in my employer's mail server but in my customer's mail server,
the text and logo are getting split into 2 attachments in the body of the mail
instead I require the text and logo in the body of the mail.
2. I removed the logo in the smartform and tried typing the url in the smartform window text as suggested in
    URL http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2273. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
   The logo does not appear iin my employer's mail server but in my customer's mail server,
   all I get is a text of the URL.
Can you please suggest the possible reason for this problem
The url of the IMG tag is accessible externall.
What is meant by drop/reference MIME data in a location that is external to corporate firewall.

Failed to send mail to external domain via portal

Hi Gurus,
By following the configuraion instructions in SAP library - Collaboration - Groupware - Installing and Configuring E-Mail Connectivity, I managed to send mail to recipients who reside in same domain e.g. [email protected] via portal.
However, I failed to send mail to external domain e.g. [email protected]. I got the following error message:
The mail could not be sent to the specified recipients com.sap.ip.collaboration.gw.impl.transport.javamail.exception.MailSendException: The mail could not be sent to the specified recipients

Thanks for your reply. I had tried your suggestion but same problem occurred with same error output.
Actually, I encounterred this error message before in my Microsoft Outlook, where System Admin returned me a mail saying that, my mail was undeliverable with the same error message. But this can be solved by applying the Internet Email Account Setting - Outgoing Server - My outgoing server (SMTP) require authentication.
So I am wondering,
1) This problem is caused by SMTP server?
2) Is there any workaround (like the Outlook Setting) I can configure in Portal?

Script to send Email notification depending on return value

When I run this I get a report of users who's accounts is about to expire, a scheduled task that run, say every week. Only problem it that this will send an email report even if there is nothing to report. What I would like is: if any return value is given
it sends the mail. If no return value is given it dosen't send any mail. I'm trying to get an if solution where if ($bodyoutstring return value -eq true) {send mailmessage} else {do nothing} But not sure this is possible since $bodyoutsring is a

Facing problem with logo in the PDF attachment when sending mail...

i'm facing problem with logo in the PDF attachment to the mail.
my requirement:
1. enter spool number and mail id in the selection screen.
process:
1. now the program will fetch the spool data and converts it to PDF.
2. but when i'm trying to send mail with this PDF as attachment.
when i open the PDF file from the mail, logo is not coming properly (looks disturbed).
can anyone help me how to resolve this issue...
