  • NeoDynamic Barcode Proffessional Upload Error in SSRS Report Server 2012

    Hi,
I am Developing a SSRS Report for Displaying Barcode . I am Using Neodynamic Barcode Proffessional and the Report is Working fine in Developer Machine (MY Machine). When i try to Upload the Report into SSRS Report Server i get this Error Can any one Help on
    this. Thanks in Advance
Note : I am Using SSRS 2012 Version and The Report Server is also the Same

    Hi cbazrm,
According to your description, you add an external assembly to display barcode in your report. It works properly in developing environment. But it throw the above error after deploying onto report server. Right?
Based on the error message, the report server side doesn't have the assembly added, so it can't use the assembly to render the barcode.
In this scenario, we should copy the AgeAssembly.dll to the “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin” folder then drag and drop the assembly to the C:\Windows\assembly too.

  • Cannot download .rdl files in SSRS Report Manager 2012.

I am unable to download .rdl reports in report manager 2012.
I am able to create reports using report builder and I am able to run /view reports that I create.
However , the drop down box does not work work when I attempt to access drop down menu that is to the right of the report.
I am running this report manager on my local machine. I am an administrator on my local machine.
Under "site settings" I have set up my user account, which is administrator, I have checked the System Administrator box and System User box.
Under "folder settings" I have checked all of the boxes.  for my user account, I have all of the boxes selected. Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder.
My account is also sysadmin on the database.
After checking all of this, I still cannot access the drop down menu in order to download .rdl files. The menu does not activate at all when I click it.
What are some things that I can further check/confirm?

    Hi wayne,
According to your description, you are unable to access the dropdown menu of a report so that you can't download the .RDL file directly from Report Manager. Right?
In this scenario, it can be many reasons to cause this problem, even the current user has enough authority to do anything on Report Manager. Please try to do trouble shooting as below:
Run the browser as an Administrator.
Add the Report Manager URL as Compatibility View settings.
Use http://<servername>/reports instead of using Localhost.
If the steps above still can't make you see the dropdown menu, it might caused by corrupt reportingservices.js file. Please try to restore this file on server.

  • Error publishing SSRS Report in Dynamics AX 2012 Enterprise Portal

    Good morning.
I have a problem ad i'll appreciate so much your help. I made a SSRS Reporting project with Business Intelligence Development Studio (through the template "Business Intelligence --> Report Server Project). Once deployed to report server, the report
successfully works. I Want to publish this report in Dynamics AX 2012 Enterprise Portal, through the web part "SQL Server Reporting
à SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer", but when i select the .rdl file from the list, i receive the following error:
An error occurred during local report processing.
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'DataSource1'.
An attempt has been made to use an unregistered data extension, 'OLEDB-MD'. To use this data extension, it must be registered in the Web.config file of this Web application.
I've Checked the config file and the specified handler is correctly set. I read in a forum that the problem may be caused by the fact that the database of the report server is set as "Native" instead of "Sharepoint Integrated". Is it
possible? just in case, there's the possibility to display a ssrs report in EP in "native mode"?
Thank you so much in advance
    Simone

    Hi Katherine.
Thank you so much for your reply. You understood perfectly what I mean. I followed the instructions in the document, but the installation of te .cab file won't work. I tried with the Sharepoint Management Shell and with STSADM.EXE, but in both cases i receive

  • Cannot preview SSRS report in Visual Studio 2012 - assembly does not allow partially trusted callers

    Hi,
I have an SSRS report that works fine in Visual Studio 2008 BIDS.  This report references a .Net assembly namely:
    System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a
I use this assembly in some simple Code functions in the report. e.g.
    System.Web.HttpUtility.UrlEncode(inURL).ToString
I have converted the SSRS project to 2012 and am trying to preview the report.  However, I get an error relating to: "That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers".  If i deploy the rdl to my local SSRS it renders fine, but
how do I fix Visual Studio to preview the report without error? This is highly annoying.
    My Visual Studio version is:
    Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2012
    Version 11.0.61030.00 Update 4
    Microsoft .NET Framework
    Version 4.5.51641
    SQL Server Reporting Services
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Designers
    Version 11.0.3402.0
Any help is appreciated on this one.
    Regards,
    MrHH

    Hi MrHappyHead,
According to your description, you used custom assembly in the report, when you run the report in Visual Studio 2008, the report works fine. When you run the report in Visual Studio 2012, the error message occurred: "That assembly does not allow partially
trusted callers".  But the report works fine after you deployed it to report manager.
Only applications that are fully trusted by the runtime code access security system are allowed to access a shared managed code assembly that is not explicitly marked with the System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute. A partially trusted assembly
(one that is registered in SQL Server with the SAFE or EXTERNAL_ACCESS permission set) that attempts to access a strong-name signed assembly without this attribute causes a System.Security.SecurityException to be thrown. To troubleshoot the problem, please
    refer to the following steps:
Add namespace system.security to AssemblyInfo.cs file
    Add [assembly:allowpartiallytrustedcaller] to the file.
Set trust level to "Full" in web.config file

  • SubReports Issues in SSRS 2005 Reports Upgrade to 2012

    Hi there!
We are planning to upgrade our SSRS 2005 reports to SSRS 2012. As I heard there will are some upgrade compatibility issues, I read the below MSDN article and found that the Reports that include subreports may fail in upgrade. Below
    is the article.
    Upgrading a Report with Subreports:
    When a report contains subreports,
one of four possible states can occur during upgrade:
The main report and all subreports can be successfully upgraded. They are processed by the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS) report processor.
The main report and all subreports cannot be upgraded. They are processed by the SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services report processor.
The main report can be upgraded but one or more subreports cannot be upgraded. The main report is processed by the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS) report processor, but the rendered report shows the message "Error: Subreport
could not be processed" in the location where the subreport that could not be upgraded would appear.
The main report cannot be upgraded but one or more subreports can be upgraded. The main report is processed by the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS) report processor, but the rendered report shows the message "Error: Subreport
could not be processed" in the location where the subreport would appear.
If you see the error "Error: Subreport could not be processed",
you must change the definition of the main report or the subreport so that the reports can be processed by the same version of the report processor.
Can some one please tell me what does the above line mean? What does it mean by the phrase
change the definition of main report? Does it mean I need to set any property in the main report?
    Please help! Thanks in advance.
    Ammy

    Hi Ammy,
When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace. This is the only way
you can upgrade a report definition file. A report with subreports must be processed by the same version of the Reporting Services report processor. When upgrading reports to the current version of the report definition schema, the main report and the subreports
may or may not be updated at the same time. If the version is not compatible between a report and its subreports, the following message is displayed: "Subreport could not be processed."
If we want to change the definition of the report, we can open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).  Then the namespace of the report will upgrade to the current namespace. For more information about Identify the Report Schema
Version, please see the following document:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc627465(v=sql.110).aspx
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Steps to migrate 2005 SSRS reports into 2012 SSRS?

    Hi All,
I will migrate bunch of datamarts from 2005 to 2012
SO Any idea where should I start looking and steps to take for SSRS reports?
    thanks,
    Gok

    Hello Gok,
Just open the BIDS 2005 SSRS Project in SSDT 2012 (SQL Server Data Tools) and the Project will be automatically migrated to the new Version; pretty simple.

  • Updates installed but SCCM 2012 says non-compliant - Compliance 5 - Specific computer report

    Hi,
I hope someone has an answer.
When I use the compliance report "Compliance 5 - Specific computer report" I've noticed that some updates need to be installed, but when I check the server the updates are already installed.
This issue occurs for several servers.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Roberto

    Hi,
Have you checked the status of the deployment that contains the updates need to be installed?

  • SSAS report action to pass multi-value list of dimention key values to a SSRS report parameter

This was originally posted on StackOverflow and suggested I try here as well.
I want to create a report action in an SSAS OLAP cube that generates a list of formatted values to pass into an SSRS report parameter that accepts a multi-valued parameter list.  This would be applied at the
cell level in the SSAS action.  I have found a solution that gets me most of the way:
How to Pass Multiple Values from an SSAS Report Drill Through Action to an SSRS Multi-Value Parameter, but not quite.  The action does appear in Excel and works
if I run the action from a cell that is at or below the dimension attribute I am generating the list for, in this case,
    Account Key.
Below is a link to a screen capture (unable to embed it due to lack of reputation) showing the action and dimension structure in Excel.  The action works as long as I run it at the
Account Key level or below.  I want to be able to run it at higher levels, such as
Account Major and still have it generate all then related Account Key values for the SSRS report parameter.  Running it at the higher
Account Major level does not trigger the report to run.
    Excel Action Screen Shot:
    http://i.stack.imgur.com/QCGSp.png
Below is the MDX I am using to generate the value for the report parameter:
    UrlEscapeFragment(
    GENERATE(
    DESCENDANTS(
    [Account].[Account Key].CurrentMember,
    [Account].[Account Key].[Account Key]
    [Account].[Account Key].CURRENTMEMBER.Name,
    "&rp:Account="
I am hoping that I can somehow modify the MDX above to make it return all the
Account Keys for any attribute of the Account dimension when ran from any measure cell, not just when ran at self and children of
Account Key in the pivot table.
Also, if it helps, I can execute the following MDX query on the cube and get the results I am looking for.
WITH MEMBER [Measures].[Account Key List] as
    GENERATE(
    DESCENDANTS([Account].[Account].CurrentMember, [Account].[Account].[Account]),
    [Account].[Account].CURRENTMEMBER.NAME,
    "&rp:Account=")
    SELECT {[Measures].[Account Key List]} on 0,
    ([Account].[Account Company Number].[Account Company Number],[Account].[Account Major].[Account Major]
    ) on 1
    FROM [Company 10 Action Demo]
    Below are partial results:
    10.116&rp:Account=10.116.010
    10.117&rp:Account=10.117.010&rp:Account=10.117.020
    10.120&rp:Account=10.120.005&rp:Account=10.120.006&rp:Account=10.120.010&rp:Account=10.120.020&rp:Account=10.120.030&rp:Account=10.120.040&rp:Account=10.120.050&rp:Account=10.120.060&rp:Account=10.120.380&rp:Account=10.120.999
    10.123
    Questions
Any ideas what I might need to do to get Account Key to be returned for any attribute of the
    Account dimension?
Would I possibly have to alter my Account dimension in the cube to get this to work?
    Thanks in advance.
Edit 1 - Adventure Works Cube Version
I was unable to get the suggested answer with the "Exists" function to work.  To better demonstrate this issue, I have recreated it using the Adventure Works Cube.
I will focus on the Customer dimension, specifically the Customer and
Education attributes.  I created a report action called Test Report Action.  Below is the XML created for it in the cube.
    <Action xsi:type="ReportAction" dwd:design-time-name="f35ad5ee-5167-4fb8-a0e0-0a74cc6e81c6">
    <ID>Report Action 1</ID>
    <Name>Test Report Action</Name>
    <TargetType>Cells</TargetType>
    <Target></Target>
    <Type>Report</Type>
    <ReportServer>SQLSERVER</ReportServer>
    <Path>ReportServer?/Test Report</Path>
    <ReportParameters>
    <ReportParameter>
    <Name>Test Customer Existing</Name>
    <Value>UrlEscapeFragment(
    GENERATE(
    EXISTING DESCENDANTS(
    [Customer].[Customer].CurrentMember,
    [Customer].[Customer].[Customer]
    [Customer].[Customer].CURRENTMEMBER.Name,
    "&amp;rp:Customer="
    )</Value>
    </ReportParameter>
    </ReportParameters>
    <ReportFormatParameters>
    <ReportFormatParameter>
    <Name>rs:Command</Name>
    <Value>Render</Value>
    </ReportFormatParameter>
    <ReportFormatParameter>
    <Name>rs:Renderer</Name>
    <Value>HTML5</Value>
    </ReportFormatParameter>
    </ReportFormatParameters>
    </Action>
Below are the steps to re-create the issue.
Connect to the cube in Excel
Add dimension Customer -> More Fields -> Customer
Add measure Internet Sales -> Internet Sales Amount
Right-click Internet Sales Amount cell, select "Additional Actions" -> "Test Report Action" and see customer values created for URL
When the action is ran at this point with Customer, I see the values created in the URL shown message box (since there is no SSRS report server at location specified).
Now the part I'm unable to resolve
Remove the Customer dimension and add Customer -> Demographic -> Education
Right-click Internet Sales Amount cell, select "Additional Actions" -> "Test Report Action"
Nothing happens. If I ran the action on the cell next to "Bachelors", I would want it to build up all the list of all the "Customers"  that make up the "Bachelors" in the
Customer dimension as part of the report parameter.  If no attributes where used in the cube from the
Customer dimension for that cell, then I would like it to return "All Customers", or something similar to show that all customers are included in the aggregations.
I am not too MDX savvy, thus far.  I think I need to somehow join the
Customers to Internet Sales Amount in the Generate function portion.  I have tried several different combinations of the
Customer dimension and Internet Sales Amount, along with various functions to see if I could get this to work with no success.  I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable the me will have a solution.   If you need more details,
please ask and I will provide them.

    Simon,
Thanks for you help with this.  This morning I found a workaround.  Below describes what that is.
What I ended up doing was getting a list of values from a degenerate dimension that I could use to pass to SSRS to get a list of transactions for a report.  Below is how I did this, in relation to the Adventure Works cube using the degenerate dimension
    Internet Order Details.
WITH MEMBER [Measures].[Order Param List] AS
    GENERATE(
    EXISTS([Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].[Sales Order Number].Members, ,
    "Internet Sales"),
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].CurrentMember.Name,
    "&rp:OrderNum=")
    SELECT {[Measures].[Order Param List], [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]} ON 0
    ,([Date].[Calendar].[Date]) ON 1
    FROM [Adventure Works]
This will get a list of Sales Order Number in a text string, separated by "&rp:OrderNum=" for each measure of
Internet Sales. This would allow me to create an SSRS report to bring back detail information for each
Sales Order Number. Below are some sample results.
    May 16, 2007 SO50493&rp:OrderNum=SO50494&rp:OrderNum=SO50495&rp:OrderNum=SO50496&rp:OrderNum=SO50497&rp:OrderNum=SO50498&rp:OrderNum=SO50499&rp:OrderNum=SO50500 $12,157.80
    May 17, 2007 SO50501&rp:OrderNum=SO50502&rp:OrderNum=SO50503&rp:OrderNum=SO50504&rp:OrderNum=SO50505&rp:OrderNum=SO50506&rp:OrderNum=SO50507&rp:OrderNum=SO50508 $13,231.62
    May 18, 2007 SO50509&rp:OrderNum=SO50510 $4,624.91
With this, I can then create a Report Action in SSRS with a Parameter Value of
    UrlEscapeFragment(
    GENERATE(
    EXISTS([Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].[Sales Order Number].Members, ,
    "Internet Sales"),
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].CurrentMember.Name,
    "&rp:OrderNum=")
The way I was going about it before was flawed, as I was trying to get a list of the granular values from each dimension used to build the measure value and pass each one of those as separate parameters. I just needed to set something unique for each fact
measure transaction that represents the value and uses that in a query parameter for the SSRS report.

  • SSRS Report Report Blank Yet Generates Perfect PDF

I have a rather complicated SSRS report (basically a dashboard with multiple charts and tables) that I'm having some issues with. It generates fine in BIDS, but out on the report server is where things get weird.
On the report server it generates without throwing an error, but doesn't display anything, I just get a blank white screen. Yet I can export the report to a PDF, and in the PDF everything looks perfect (despite not having actually displayed
anything in the report manager after the report successfully runs!).
If I upload the report into our CRM 2013 app and run it, I get the generic "rsProcessingAborted" when it first runs, then if I hit "Try Again" on the error screen I get the "Invalid Argument"
    error.
I set the timeouts on the queries in the .rdl to an insane 20 minutes just to rule out a timing out issue.
Anyone ever seen something like this before, a blank SSRS report that doesn't throw an error yet still generates a correct PDF?

This appears to be a Chrome browser issue and unfortunately that's the browser my company insists on using. Just ran the report via IE and it worked perfectly. Chrome just cannot render the HTML correctly on very complicated reports it seems, as all my basic
reports worked fine in Chrome. Found this thread on potential fixes in the .js files on the report server. Not sure how that is going to play with the reports in CRM:

  • SSRS Report Security

    Hi,
I want to control who can view my SSRS reports based on  following things?
    Company of the Person
    Designation of the Person
    Department of the Person
    Rank of the Person
How do I achieve that? Can somebody provide me step by step instructions or point me to right direction.
    Thank You,
    kalpesh

do you have all that information readily available in a database?
    - Yes I do .
Is everyone who meets your criteria going to have access to the same set of reports, or is each user going
to have a specific subset of reports based on their credentials?
    - based on their company , designation, department, rank etc user will have access to different sets
You may have to write a stored procedure or a function that gets called in every report to verify credentials.
    - This will not work as I do not even want to display available reports if user does not fit criteria.
How many users/companies etc. are going to be accessing your SSRS site?
    - 150 users and 20 companies.

  • Update showing up in "Compliance 5 - Specific Computer" Report even after removing the update from the Software Update before creating Group and Package

So I've created a Software Update Group and I did NOT want anything in there dealing with Internet Explorer 11 since the organization is currently stuck at using 10 as the highest. So I made sure that Internet Explorer was NOT in the list and then I deployed
    the package.
After running my Overall Compliance report it shows that the systems are compliant, but when I view the "Compliance 5 - Specific Computer" I see that "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" is listed in the report.
This is just a testing phase right now and I have not created a WSUS like Domain level GPO. I understand that the SCCM client creates a local policy on the clients for the location of the Software Update Point (Specify
Intranet Microsoft update service location), but the "Configure Automatic Updates" policy is set to Not Configured, which it looks like when this
is set, the "Install updates automatically (recommended)" at 3AM is the default.
Is the reason why the "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" update is showing up in the list due to the fact that the "Configure
Automatic Updates" policy is set to Not Configured
and therefore it is still reaching out to check Windows Update online?
So, if I do create a Domain level GPO to Disable the "Configure
Automatic Updates" policy, then the "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" update would not show up in the "Compliance 5 - Specific Computer" report?
By the way, I have a Software Update Maintenance Window configured for the hours of 1AM-4AM so the 3AM default time falls within this time frame, therefore, I am assuming the SCCM 2012 client will not allow the Windows Update Agent to install the "Internet
Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" update, even though it has detected it is "Required".
    Thanks

But, don't you need a Deployment Package in order to deploy the Software Update Group? The Software Update Group uses the downloaded updates contained in the Deployment Package located in, wherever the Package Source is, right?
One more quick question that you will know right off hand, because, well, you just will I'm sure.
No. The software update group really has nothing to do with any update packages. The update group assigns updates to clients and in turn clients use update packages to download assign and applicable updates from. There is no connection between the two though
as the client can download an update from any available update package. Thus, it's more than possible to updates in an update package that are not in any update groups and it is also possible for an update to be in an update group without being in any update
    package.
If the "Configure Automatic Updates" policy is set to "Not Configured" and since this keeps the 3AM Automatic Updates default, if I was to remove the Software Update Maintenance Window from being between 1AM-4AM, will the WUA agent install updates
at 3AM, or no because the SCCM 2012 client still manages and oversees it and basically blocks that from occurring?
No, ConfigMgr does not in any way block the WUA; however, the WUA can only autonomously install updates it downloads directly from WSUS. Thus, since there are no updates approved or downloaded in your WSUS instance, there's nothing for it to download and
install. If you happen to actually be going into WSUS and approving updates (which you should not be doing as its unsupported), then yes, it actually would install updates -- this is outside of ConfigMgr's control though. Generally, disabling the WUA via a
GPO is the recommended to prevent any accidental installations or reboots (as the WUA wil also check for initiate pending reboots outside of ConfigMgr).

  • How to run the same SSRS report multiple times, each time with a different parameter value?

    Hi,
I have an SSRS report that produces a list of invoices for a single supplier (so supplier is a parameter specified at runtime). The report is based on a stored procedure in SQL. I would like to make things easier and instead of going through all suppliers
one by one, I want to have a single action, which produces separate reports, per supplier, for all suppliers that have an outstanding invoice (so not all suppliers on the system as a whole but all suppliers that are within the result set of the stored procedure).
I assume this would mean first executing the stored procedure to find all suppliers that have invoices at the time. And then running the report multiple times, once for each supplier, where the supplier value is used as the parameter every time. ideally
this would open separate webpages with a single report per page. (I am creating a button in another software, which is simply launching iexplore.exe and passing a
    fixed SSRS report URL).
What would be required? I have SQL 2012 and I am building this in Report Builder 3.0.
    Thank you!
    Dimitar
P.S. What about still running ONE report, but every supplier starting on a new page? Is that more realistic? So supplier will not be a parameter any more, but just something that creates a new page on the report?

    What
about still running ONE report, but every supplier starting on a new page? Is that more realistic? So supplier will not be a parameter any more, but just something that creates a new page on the report?
Yes thats a much better option. Its very easy to generate such a report in SSRS. You dont need a parameter
in that case but just needs to add Supplier as a grouping field in the tablix. Then add other columns and groups if required. Select option set page break after each instance of the group for first grouping (ie based on supplier field). Then report will render
with one page per supplier. On exporting to excel also each supplier data goes to a different tab
Here's a similar requirement I did for one of my projects

  • Pre-Purchase Question - Deploying Crystal Report to SSRS Report Server

Our company has recently installed a SQL 2005 server for our accounting system.  I had intended going down the path of using SQL Reporting Services as our reporting tool and deploying them to the builtin Report Server.  However, I've been using Crystal Reports for years and find it much more user friendly for a non-programmer to use.  I can actually write a report in Crystal, SSRS took me 3 days to achieve very little, I believe it requires too much SQL reporting knowledge for a beginner.
After spending many hours trawling the net looking for a solution to this problem, I found that Crystal comes as part of Visual Studio.  However, I also believe the version of Visual Studio that comes with SQL2005 is the basic version, and I'd need the Pro version to get the Crystal add on.
To this end, I've downloaded the trial version of Crystal 2008 and installed it.  I find I can write a report in Crystal, and then I can manually add that report to a SSRS project. When I open the Crystal Report within Visual Studio I can see all the correct Crystal toolbars and menus etc, so it would appear that the installation of Crystal for Visual Studio has integrated properly.  I can then deploy that report to the Report server and see the report on the web page.  However clicking to open the report then opens the full Crystal Reports application, instead of just displaying the report in the web page.
I've been unsuccessful in finding a solution to the above deployment problem.  I'm seeking a solution so that my users can just see the report without Crystal itself opening up.  I've been advised that there is a Crystal Report Server that I can purchase, but I don't wish to go to that expense when we already have this functionality built into our SSRS server.
Can you please advise if it's possible to deploy the Crystal report to the SSRS Report Server and then open the report within the web page without opening the full Crystal app, and if so what steps I would need to take to implement this.
If this issue can be resolved, I'll be more than happy to purchase the full Crystal 2008 package and forget SSRS as a bad idea.
Sorry to be so long winded, I wanted to be clear what the issue is.  Any information /advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hello Diane,
I would not know if Crystal Report can be used with SSRS but I know for sure that you can use the embedded Crystal Reports Version with comes with VS 2005 or VS 2008 to create reports and to display them in web and windows application.
We have lots of samples how to do this in our [dev community|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/].
Also, you can use [Crystal Reports 2008|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/developer/library/CR2008SDK] with MS SQL 2005.
Other products like Crystal Reports server can also use MS SQL 2005.
Please see our [supported platforms for CR 2008|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000712280&_OBJECT=011000358700000675322008E] on windows.
    Hope this helps

  • Open a PDF File from a SSRS Report

I have a requirement to include a link of some sort on SSRS reports that opens a PDF file.  If this were being implemented in an Access report, a click event using the Application.FollowHyperlink method will do the trick.  Is there an analogous
method to accomplish this on a SSRS report, please?

Thanks to Bipin.P !  Although I do not yet have the product installed with which to work, I found the following in the RDL specs.  So, if SSRS functionality is identical to that of an IsHyperlink textbox, our requirement will be satisfied
    easily.
    Thanks again to all!
From the SQL Server Reporting Services RDL (Report Definition Language) Specification document, page 41:
    Action
The Action element defines a hyperlink, bookmark link or drillthrough action associated with a ReportItem.
    Name
    Type
    Description
    Hyperlink
    Expression (URL)
An expression that evaluates to the URL of the hyperlink (18)
    (18) The Access IsHyperlink property of Textboxes will be supported via this more general mechanism. The Hyperlink property of the Textbox can be set to the same expression as
the Value property of the Textbox.
Implemented on an Access Report on 05/06/2010:
Set the IsHyperlink property of a Textbox to Yes
Set the Value property of the Textbox to =”Open PDF File#C:\UPDATES\HelpFiles\UIU Boot Menu.pdf”
