Company wide spend

Hi Gurus,
is there a report i can run to mee the following need:
we just need goods issues only for stock items & goods receipts for non-stock purchases for a given period of time accors all plants of the company. We are not looking for anything to do with payables. the fields we are more focussed is
Plant, material group, material no, description of the material, vendor name/number, UOM, price, quantity

to put it more specifically, the time frame we are looking is like 11/03/2008 to 06/30/2009. we want to see the all GI's for stock items and all GR's for non stokcs during this time frame?

Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid there is no related commands to help us to add holiday on user's calendar from Exchange side.
However, as a workaround, we can export this calendar to a PST file and then import to the mailboxes. You can refer to the following article.

Company-wide email signature

How do I set up a company-wide email signature in Apple Mail? I want one common signature to reside on the server and have everyone in the company link to that common signature.

I can't find a clean answer for you.
You might use the Set-TransportRule cmdlet and one of the exception clauses to look for something in the header. I looked at an ActiveSync-generated header from my Droid (I don't have an iPhone to try this out on) and I see this:
Message-ID: [email protected]
The clause:
-ExceptIfHeaderMatchesPatterns "Message-ID:\s(\S|\s)*email.android.com"
should exclude messages sent from Droids. Of course, I can't say that it'll exclude all of them so you'll have to experiment and use trial and error.

Company wide user menu

Hello,
is it possible to create a company wide user menu?
We have created a role which contains only a menu tree and no authority checks. This menu tree contains all transactions and so on which are neede by 90% of the sap users. The real authority check is done by special user dependent role.
What we want is a company wide user menu. A menu which can be used by ever user and whichhase the same look an feel for every user.
How can we implement this ?

Use SE43N for an area menu which you can add to your user-master in tx. SU01, tabstrip 'Defaults' (or use SU10 for a mass change).
I would leave it at that. To switch the systemwide menu -in the way my predecessor so lightheartedly advised- to a customer menu might all be well and fine, as long as your company doesn't expand very much or has the same processes/transactions for every extension (= maybe they buy some more companies, plants, etc.).
Leave S000 where it is and work with menu-based roles and User-Defaults.
As for putting the menu in one role and the authorisations in others - that might not prove to be the most maintainable approach in the long run. We have been discussing this here on this board repeatedly and professionals like Alex Ayers are not eager to recommend that way. Search a bit and you surely will find the threads in question.

How to install apex (and mapviewer) company wide ?

Until now I've developed some applications on a laptop.
I want to bring them to my company - in this stage as a "pilot" with a limited number of employees having access.
What do I need: a database, apex installed and - now is coming what I want to know - application server or http-server ?
For your information: I'm using also oracle spatial and mapviewer to present data on the map of the netherlands. Therefore I want to install spatial, and mapviewer. An pre-installed oc4j is included in that installation.
How to combine these issues ?

Hello Leo,
I'm not sure these issues should be combined. You are talking about 3 different Oracle products, each with its own pre-installation requirements. Regarding oracle spatial and MapViewer, you'll need to ask your DBA (or someone with the proper experience in this forum can help you).
As for ApEx, you'll need a db version 9.2.0.3 or higher, and you'll need the OHS (Oracle HTTP Server) which is part of the db companion CD, or can be downloaded from OTN.
As far as I know, Oracle MapViewer is part of the Oracle Application server, just like OC4J and OHS. In this case, you can install all the needed modules of the Application Server, and then installed ApEx. The ApEx installation guide includes information on how to configure the HTTP server, as part of the Application Server.

Setting up the Discovery system on a company wide LAN

All,
As I mentioned in a previous thread, I am working for a fairly large company that has a lot of policies and restrictions regarding bringing any kind of equipment on the network - especially servers.
Since I am not a network expert by any means, I am wondering whether there are ways to set it up so that only a few users can access it and - main reason - to have it isolated from the rest of the LAN (security reasons etc.).
Did someone else run into the same issue and had to go a similar route?
It looks like I got over the budget hurdle, now I have to prepare for the next battle ;->.

I plan to set up DSL at work, having an own line just for the system. The main problem is that the system must not be connected to our company network because it is so different from our standard environment (security, patches, Software, hardware).
To the options:
SAP hosting has offered us some kind of discovery system but at a very higher price.
I additionally asked HP if they will be willing to host the ESA system, but they did not offer this.
Virtualization
I asked SAP to provide a VMWare Player image of the ESA system, which can be run under a virtual machine. This would help a lot, but I was not successful. Theoretically it is possible to built such a machine by using VMware recorder, but I do not have any experience with it and I do not know if this is legal from a SAP or HP perspective.

Company wide iOS 5 Upgrade

Hello,
We currently have around 120 iPhones in our company. I am looking for the best way to go about upgrading these devices to iOS 5. My plan was, to go to each of our 13 branches and install the update manually. That is still my plan, however, some of these devices have been synced with our users laptops. If I do the upgrade on my computer, it will delete the users media and apps. Is there any way around this?
I am part of the iOS development program and wondered if there are any tools available to me to help me with this upgrade.

I've had a similar issue with one of our users after the update. The following worked for me, it may or may not work for you.
Make sure the Exchange account is on the device
Remove the iCloud account completly
TURN OFF everything in the Exchange account - Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.
Do a cold reset by holding down power and home until the device reboots
Turn everything back on in the Exchange account
I've found that the connection between the device and Exchange sometimes gets stuck. We've had this issue on multiple devices causing battery drains. I figured I'd try it, and it worked. We have iPhone 4's connected to Exchange 2003.

Company-wide Desktop Picture on Mavericks Clients

We're looking at rolling out Mavericks on our systems at work, and I have set up a test machine to make sure everything will work as expected. We have a Lion server that is using Workgroup Manager MCX (instead of Profile Manager, which will change) to distribute policies to all the workstations. All of them are working well except for the desktop picture.
Now, I understand that the setting for desktop picture in Mavericks is no longer in a plist, but in an sqlite database. Is there any way to set the desktop picture using the Workgroup or Profile Managers for a Mavericks client? I don't want to replace the default picture on Mavericks systems because we update the desktop picture regularly.
EDIT: I should add, I tried to write a login script to do it, but I couldn't get it to run. The script has this single line:
tell application "System Events" to set picture of every desktop to "/Volumes/Groups/Everyone/Wallpapers/Current.png"

Your script is a kludgy hack that won't prevent users from changing the Desktop for the entirety of their session .
The correct way to do this is with Managed Preferences for OSX also called 'MCX' as you have already seen.
There is a tweak that should still work on 10.9 to import all the Apple based 'managed preference keys'.
Get Workgroup Manager for the same OS as the server (you may need the server admin tools, it varies, search for both). It may need to be the 10.9 version on Mavericks.

Open WGM on a client, connect to the server (do not work in the local node!). Select the group or computer group you are managing & select the 'Preferences > Details tab'. Click the + button to add the following…
/System/Library/CoreServices/ManagedClient.app
This will give you the power to manage a lot of extra keys, find the 'Desktop picture' in the list, double click it, decide how often to manage it (once = first login, often = at each login, always = what it says ).
Select 'Often' & create a New Key, click the new item & select the key to manage (in this case Background). It should autofill the other values (e.g. image path & the path to the current Desktop. Sometimes Always won't create the key correctly, so create it inside often & drag it down.
Once all that is saved login as a member of the managed group & it should pull down the desired MCX prefs (reboot).
Your Macs will need to bound to the server for this to work & I haven't tested on 10.9 (WGM doesn't want to apply these to the local node, which may indicate it isn't possible.
I'd strongly suggest you copy the desired image to the Macs in question to increase reliability, or host it in an auto mount that appears in /Networks.

Centrally Controling JRE Installations/Updates Company Wide

We are currently using a java based CRM system with a huge number of different peices. We would like to look into doing some upgrades and it has come to our attention that if a user has an older version of the JRE one of the applications works fine but when they click the upgrage feature at the client side and upgrades to the latest version, the application no longer runs.
I fully understand this is probably an issue with the CRM solution not working with the newer JRE but our fear is that more then one person will begin to upgrade their clients. Also, we have very little control over what JRE versions they go and download and install.
The question is, is there a known function/feature/or software package that will allow us to centrally manage what version of the JRE is allowed to be installed and or upgrade similar to how you can use WSUS for managing what microsoft patches are released to your corporate enviroment?
Does Sun have anything like this?
Does anyone have any suggestions on things we can do?

Hmm. Well... I'll bump this thread one more time to give it one last gasp. Am I asking too many things at once? If I had one single question that needed to be answered, it's this:
When dealing with Adobe software that requires a login for ongoing communication with Adobe, what is the risk of using the master user account and password for my organization as the username and password for any individual installation, and how do other people mitigate this risk?

Client install company wide?

how do you typically install a new client version to all of your users when you upgrade for example from 10g to 11g? I've setup the response files to do silent installs, but our Windoze group still has to go to every PC and run those setup commands or else run a batch file to do the commands for them. Is there an easier way?
Also, when un-installing 10g if there have been any SYSTEM DSN setup you have to remove those prior to uninstalling the current version or else removal fails. Unless you hack the registry. How do you typically migrate datasource connections from 10g to 11g that are setup in windows?

I couldn't imagine not upgrading the client side before upgrading the server side and not running into bugs. The bugs that typically come up are due to having an older client, and personally I've not seen bugs related to using a newer client with older server.
Also, I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing an upgrade without running into numerous bugs on both client & server side. I've grown to accept the fact that client or server just flat out won't work out of the box for everyone.

Windows/Outlook 2010 Search quits company wide

JRE Installation Company Wide

I'm rolling out JRE to 350 users, mostly Win2K, and have worked out a way to deploy the executable silently (by using a logon script.) It works well except the JRE install I have (approx 1.5MB) downloads some zip files from the internet during the installation process. I would like to find a version of the JRE install which already has these components in the same package, or copy the zip files to a local server and "persuade" the installer to get it's components from there instead of sun. I want to do this for 2 reasons, 1 it's a waste of bandwidth (mine, and Suns,) 2 the installation should be quicker from a local server.
Does anyone have any advice?

There are a lot of login scripts that people have posted in the script center here that do this. Without third party software you are left with either a scripted solution or transport rules.
I don't like the transport rules, because they append the signature at the bottom of the email and not inline with the reply. You can recognize those when you see an email from someone that has multiple signatures clumped at the bottom.

Creating a PDF from Autocad on a company network drive

Hi,
I'm running Windows 7, Adobe X, and Autocad 2012. when I first got my machine I had no problems at all creating PDF's. Now out of no where i'm not able to create them anywhere but my computers hard drive and wont allow me to print on a network drive. I'm looking for any suggestions on how this can be fixed.

I asked my IS dept. about this and below is the response I got from them.
it is just a local area network. during the time SP1 was installed for Office 2010 64 bit, I uninstalled that service pack but it did not correct the problem. the same with 10.1 and 10.2 for Acrobat, those were installed and removed but it never correceted the problem. we do have a firewall but i didn't think that Acrobat would be accessing a port on our network. There is symantec Endpoint Protection v11 installed company wide, so at the time there were probably virus definition updates for the SEP that were installed.
