Compaq CQ62 a25SA - wont turn on

Hi,
i have a Compaq CQ62 a25SA that wont turn on. initially it would turn on but lost power despite being plugged into mains and switched off by itself and then would not turn back on.
I have tried removing the power lead and the battery and depressing the power button for 60 seconds. i then replaced the power lead and it switched on but this lasted for 2 minutes ( it began to boot up windows 7 ) before i had nothing again.
i repeated the procedure but now all i get on replacement of the power lead is the blue LED on the power button flashes. there is no other LED or signs of life from it.
Could you suggest what the fault could be and if this is repairable?

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario CQ62-a25SA Notebook and the screen not coming on with no lights on it.Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.
If this still does not help try doing it without the battery connect.
Here is a link to the computer will not start. It has links in there to let you know what is happening and how to fix it. The video gives some helpful information as well.
There could be a loose internal connection. Loose connections can occur when a hardware component, such as a memory module or bootable hard drive or disc, is installed improperly, is not compatible with the computer.

Compaq, welcome to the forum.
Because of the age of the computer, I suspect a failed power supply unit (PSU). Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot the problem:

If the PSU isn't the problem check the memory to assure that it is seated and working properly.

How to reset?"Enter Administrator Password" on Compaq CQ62. System disabled key 75858185

Hello everyone,
I have a Compaq CQ62.
When I've turned it on, it comes up with the bios screen message "Enter Administrator or Power on Password".
I tried a few incorrect attempts and after the third attempt, a message "System disabled - Key 75858185" has appeared.
Can anyone please help please?

Compaq CQ62-217AX Recovery fail

Hi
I have a compaq CQ62-217AX notebook and I have recently run recovery on it and after the recovery process finished the notebook restarted and showed a bar that said Windows is loading Files and then it quickly disappeared and changed to the windows 7 loading screen and after that a command prompt shows up in windows and then and full screen dialog comes up and says 'Recovery did not complete'
I have re run factory recovery with the same result and can't get it to work, I should mention that I have not got the original 320gb hdd abd I have a 750 western digital blue in the laptop.
I would very much appreciate any help.

It appears that you were trying a recovery on your notebook, that it has failed. I will try to help you with this issue.
I was able to locate a document on this, that may help you: System Recovery May Fail and Display Error Message If Wireless Button is Turned Off Prior to Performi.... Read this over and try all of the suggested steps.

My compaq cq62-214nr will not boot from a usb flash drive

I have a Compaq CQ62-214 NR Notebook. When I enter the bios boot options screen with F9 there is a blank space where Boot from USB/Flash Drive should be. If I enter the bios setup and move usb flash drive up to the first option above Notebook hardrive and Internal CD/DVD Rom ,save the changes to the BIOS then Reboot. Enter the boot options screen again the blank line moves up to the first choice slot but still is blank. If I press enter over that black option the computer does not boot from the OS I have install on the usb flash drive it just starts its normal windows boot screen. YES I have upgraded the BIOS to the lates version F.37
Can somone tell me what is wrong.

Try booting into the one time boot menu.
Step 1: As soon as you turn on the computer on the hp invent screen keep tapping F9 key.
Step 2: you will get boot otions such as hard drive, optical drive, USb drive
Step 3: You can hit enter on the usb flash drive. Should boot from the os on your flash drive

Compaq CQ62-219WM Showing black screen AFTER replacing it.

So I guess my question is pretty simple. When I replaced my customer's screen on their COmpaq- CQ62-219WM and it showing up black. When I shine a flashlight in it I can see the start menu and whatnot. That means that I need to file a RMA right? I am guessing because the blacklight is out.

I found that pressing on the motherboard at a certain point the backlight turns on, which makes me think of a false contact in electronic components, maybe you can resolder using hot air welding to renew, but this procedure has the risk of damage plastic or hot components are out of place, take care.

my ipod video is only a month and a half old and then just yesterday i was still using it around 12 noon then around 1 pm it wont turn on! i tried to reset it, made some simple troubleshooting but it wont respond waaaa when i connect it to my pc the pc cannot recognize the ipod that as if nothing is connected to the port! help please very freaked out ;(

My iphone 4 just shut down and wont turn on and i tried everything..

hi my iphone 4 was working properly last night abd out of no where it kept freezing and turning off and the apple came on and later on it completly turned off and i tried everything to turned it on and nothing, today in the morning i plugged it in to the charger and pressed home plus lock together abd the apple came on!! i was so happy andit turned on back to normal, i was getting ready for school and i was playing music and 20 minutes later it shuts off and now it wont turn on! my iphone is not jail broken or has been dropped in water.

Any other suggestions? I have the same problem. I tried holding the home and power buttons with no response, and I also plugged in my phone to the charger for over an hour and still nothing. That has been the extent of my troubleshooting

Just share with you guys, i having the same issue on iPhone 5. Using the iTunes to turn off the VoiceOver had fixed the issue for me.

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the processor or graphics card on this laptop.
Here is a page from CPU-World that gives the specs for your processor:

You will see down near the bottom of the page that it is not upgradeable. Some laptops come with the processor soldered to the motherboard. Almost all laptop graphics are this way. The only way that you would be able to get a faster processor/better graphics for this laptop would be to purchase a brand new motherboard. You can do an Ebay search for 'HP G6 motherboard' to see what average prices are if you want to go this route.

Try resetting the PMU - Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC). If you have no success then you'll need to take it in for service or replace the AC adaptor if it's gone bad.

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you had one issue and then got a second trying to resolve the first. A frustrating situation for sure. Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace
