Compaq mini CQ10-110sl: Need Sata driver chipset

Hi, I'm new here, I think I published the post in the correct place. My problem is this: I need to install on my HP Compaq Mini CQ10-110sl,Windows XP, to work issues, I need drivers sata chipset, as the computer does not found the hard disk. Thanks in advance.

Hi:
I have attached the XP sata drivers you need below under Attachments.
If you are not going to sliptream them, and you plan to select the specific driver you need using a USB FDD, after you hit the F6 key then you need to use your up/down arrow keys to scroll up or down to select the Intel(R) ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCI Controller from the list.

Call HP and order Recovery kit of your Notebook which would have OS and factory shipped software which went with the notebook. You will get recovery kit for a nominal charge of 15$-25$ depending on type of shipping

  • Do i need to do "something" for my mac mini to see my sata drive?

    Hi guys
Problem: After replacing a failing HDD, I have connected a sata cable from inside my mini to an external sata drive and my mini does not recognise my new drive as an internal drive or in disk utility.
Modification: I have removed my failing internal 320 gb HDD and am presently booting up via an external USB drive.  I have modified a sata to esata cable so that it fits the internal sata connection of the mini. ( i have carefully cut excess plastic off the sides of one end, so that it fits into the connection. )  I have a 1.5tb sata drive inside an external sata/firewire/usb enclosure.  The drive has been mac formatted on another machine, with 3 partitions (boot, back up & media)
Tests: In disk utility, i can not view my sata connected drive. However, when i connect the drive via firewire or usb, the drive is recognised and all 3 partitions show up. Disk Utlity shows that this connection is made via USB/Firewire.
System Info: 2008 Mac Mini 2ghz with 2gig Ram.  Did have a 320gb internal Drive, but it crashed.  Replacing it with a western digital 1.5tb sata hard drive. The enclosure is a standard non branded silver enclosure.  There is no physical switch on the enclosure that controls the connection type. The cable is a regular sata to esata cable.
Do i need to do anything for my mini to recognise this new drive?
    Thanks for reading

After re-watching the Youtube clip that i followed, i think i have modified the wrong cable.
The cable that i modified is this sata to esata cable
The cable on the YouTube clip looks like the metal connectors are like a series of long rectangles. As does the connector on the broken hard drive that i have.  The cable i am using, the metal connector points are a series of small dots/balls at the ends.
The Youtube clip makes his own sata enclosure, where as i am using an enclosure that already has the connections.
Can anybody advise what connectors then, i should use, if i am using the wrong one.
    Thanks alot

  • Compaq Mini CQ10-101SA Windows XP - Unable to view entire software or webpages in a window

    Hi all!
We have a Compaq Mini CQ10-101SA which is running Windows XP.  We have an issue with the display on certain webpages and software whereby you cannot see the entire page in the window.  While this has been somewhat "inconvenient" when viewing webpages, it has now become a problem as we cannot use an important software package that we have installed.
Attached is a screen shot of the software in question - Hogia Smart Kassa (a point of sale till system).  The bottom third of the page is missing, and you cannot scroll down to see it.  This is a problem as it is where the "pay now" button is!
I have tried different screen resolution settings, DPI settings, and screen appearance settings in the "Display" area of the control pannel but nothing stops this from happening.  Is there a "shrink to fit" button that will show the entire page on the screen in a smaller size?  Can anyone help?!
    Many thanks,
    Ashley

    Good Morning @AshleyElliott ,
It is a fantastic place to find answers and information!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
I grasp that your retail software displays to large on the screen.  If there is a way to set a screen setting for a particular program you would need to check with the manufacture for that setting.
In the meantime you can try this as a work around.  Once you have the  pay window launched if you press and hold  the CTRL and press the minus sign it will make the screen smaller.  To enlarge it you would press and hold CTRL and press the + sign.
    I hope this helps.

  • Restoration for Compaq mini CQ10-112nr

My HP Compaq mini CQ10+12nr has crashed  I was trying to restore it to factory default and now it will not let me even go to the safe mode screen it will not even sign on,  It will go to the screen that will give you the option of safe mode and etc. then it will stroll down and it said that my WINDOWS\SYSTEM\vgaoem.fon is corrupt or missing and I should get a windows set disk. My compaq runs windows 7.  How can I get the disk which has to be a flash drive or how can I restore it to factory default.  Please Help !!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Hapless,
I'm sorry you're running into this issue with the recovery.
Here's how to put Windows 7 onto a USB flash drive and reinstall Windows.
    1. Turn your computer over and look for the Windows Product Key label. Write down the Product Key so you can use it to install Windows.
    2. Download the Windows 7 ISO (MAKE SURE TO GET THE 32-BIT VERSION) using another computer. Save it to the Desktop, not the USB yet.
    3. Download Rufus from here and follow the instructions to make a USB drive bootable.
    4. Insert the USB drive into the mini.
    5. Press the Power button on your mini to turn it on. Immediately start tapping the F9 key to enter Boot Options. Select USB from the Boot Options menu.
    6. Use your Product Key to install Windows. You'll have to go to your HP Driver Page once Windows has installed and download all of your drivers and software.
Let me know if you have any questions about those steps and please let me know the results when you get a chance

    Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer is to reinstall the audio driver, and see if that remedies the situation.

I would suggest attempting the steps in the following article that deal with BIOS Corruption and BIOS Authentication.  If neither of these work then you may need to call HP to have it serviced at 1-800-HP Invent.

  • I have a Compaq Mini CQ10-400CA and I want to upgrade the RAM - which can I use?

I want to upgrade the RAM from 1 gig to 2gig on my Compaq Mini CQ10-400CA - the question is which ram can I use?  I was told my HP the ram was DDR2 800mhz.  Now I have seen this :
    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148162
At Newegg in Canada.  This looks like it fits the bill, but I don't want to buy it and have it shipped and find out differently.  Anyone know if this is a good route to go?  It is cheap and it is Crucial, so at least it is reliable.
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is the correct information you have...You will need DDR2 800 MHz PC2-6400 Memory...I have never used or heard about Crucial, I would suggest going for kingstron or corair and I am kind of 50/50 when it comes to A-DATA...This based on listed on newegg.ca

  • Need Sata Driver to connect my external hard drive?

    Hi
I have an hp eliteworkbook 8540w with windows 7 on it. I made a backup of my computer witht he windows 7 backup software and put it on an external drive. When I try to restore the entire computer with that backup I must use the system repair disk to get to the option to restore my computer.
However it will not recongize my external drive and thus I cannot get to the image. My drive does connect through a usb cable but I am wondering if I need some sata driver as well.

ehm, i have like the same problem, and trying diffrent USB locations does'nt solve anything, instead the external hard drive will not run under the drivers of the other USB locations then windows gave it. but everyone can solve their problems by watching a trial on youtube or follow one one some blog/forum. only...i don't ever get the blue disk thingy in device maneger, what really sucks, i need to format this drive, but how? anyone got to tell me a diffrent way, diskpart does'nt work, diffrent letter theory does'nt work, diffrent USB location does'nt work, i cannot find drivers that can run this device, even thought i don't know anymore then ''sata portable HDD device''

  • Audio distorted Compaq Mini CQ10-400CA

Hi, I've just bought a Compaq Mini, I'm trying to fix an audio problem,  speakers produce big noise and distortion so I'cant use audio on it.
I'cant even find audio drivers since the product number is not recognized. I've bought it new 3 weeks ago, in Canada but the laptop is presenty in South America .
Really bad, slow and cheap product, it's the last Compaq of my life for sure.
I'm looking for a way to fix the problem.

  • Help Please Re:Compaq Mini CQ10-110sa

    Hi,
My husband has a Compaq CQ10-110sa Mini Netbook bought last year brand new.
Operating System was pre-installed: Windows XP Home.
He decided that he wanted to upgrade his netbook and so for safety and security before selling it we looked into doing a Reset back to factory settings.
However after it had done this, the netbook is now telling us that there is a file missing or corrupt : ntoskrnl.exe.
We have tried everything to fix this to no avail. And no we didn't make a recovery disc as we're both pretty careful and have used PC's for years.
Do you know of any way to fix this? As everywhere we've looked it says to use the recovery option on a Windows XP disc.
I have a Win XP disc that I have bought but when we tried "Recovery" we get told there is no Hard Drive.
Please! Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lorraine.

    Hi,
The error code for the short Disk Self Test ( DST ) would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know.
