Ltd, 4,G F, Fairdeal House, Nr. Swastik crossroad,Opp. St. Xavier�s Girl�s Hostel, Navarangpura, Off C.G. Road, Ahmedabad-380009, and the sales person Apeksha Shah sold me the Compaq B1214 Laptop with invoice no 003119CRI, on the date of 8th February,2008 by giving me all the falls Description of the deal and services promises like excellent performing product and satisfactory after sales services telling me that the product is one of the best performing product and the HP service station is coming to our basement only so if there is any problem it will be easiest to fix any kind of problem. So I trusted her promises and purchased the computer Package for Rs. 44993/76 paid by my father in law�s creditcard. From the day One I purchased it, I am facing lots of problems like, Low Quality product 1. Hang some applications not working properly and slow processing. 2. Speakers stopped working on the third day of my purchase and bottom of the product heat up so much that it burns the skin, dangerous to work with. 3. In the middle of the work , Computer go hang and Loose hours of work in restarting. 4. web cam stopped working in the middle of work and not able to find cam warning keep coming on clicking on start button of webcam. 5. Battery Backup and battery discharging in switch off condition. 6. Booting problem I have submitted my notebook to your service center at Xcort Micro Systems, Hewlett-Packard India Sales Pvt. Ltd, Authorized Service Centre, SF : 1-2 Ashirwad Complex, Mr. Mehta Sweet Mart, Usmanpura, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad � 380014,GujaratTel : 079-27540091/27540092 Against JOBCARD #1832 to fix the problem of speakers and it took around 15 days to get it fixed and I have to be without my important documentation and business work. Received same after repaired after 3days again facing the same problems of hang, slow processing, speaker stoped working and Booting problem. Again I have submitted on the 11/11/2008, JOBCARD #3261 with the Booting problem and speaker problem. The Technician Yogesh said me that the problem is due to HARD DISK FAILURE DUE TO MANUFACTURING DEFECT and need to replace the Hard Disk and also need to order the recovery disk by calling the HP on 1800-11-2267. HP lodge complain and gave complaint no 2604023528. After Three-Four days I receive the recovery disk I delivered them to service center and they told me now they will order the New Hard Disk. On November 22 I received the call that they have received the New Hard Disk and I can collect the Laptop. When I go there and start checking the Laptop the laptop still not working and the Technician Kamlesh Patel insisted me to sign the job card take the delivery of the computer and get out but I insisted not to take the computer before checking, because I heard that many clients are cheated that way and I was warned about that and finally same thing happened the computer was not working at all, So Technicians over service center told me that might the wrong parts arrived or the manufacturing defect in mother board or other parts. Even after requesting to Mr Himanshu Karnik and Mr Jasmin Joshi at regional HP Office at Ahmedabd I just received falls promises and up to today�s Date on 1rst December 2008 I m without the product for what I spend Rs. 45,000/- and on top of it I loose precious working when I was my trips to Mumbai, because I could not work with any other computer without install business softwares. I am giving surety that I will not buy any HP Product in future, Pls help me with this matter and save me from all the harassments for being the HP customer. & Pathatic services About after sales service 1. no feedback of my machine either through phone or sms even from HP's side. 2. no picking up of calls when i being customer call them. As it becomes HP�s Duty to inform me and not my duty when once the laptop is given to the service center to keep me informed about my machine. 3. No proper coordination between the people of workshop and the service center. 4. delay in giving my product back to me so I keep loosing my work and no replacement automatically even if the laptop has been with the HP workshop as there is no part availability or any sort of undue delay which is highly not acceptable. 5. mishandling of my laptop and all the bottom of the laptop are scratched and when questioned they are unanswerable. 6. usage of harsh and language which is not at all tolerable.

M  already consult hp service station but found that your engineering serving for hp company only not for the customer…they were not given satisfaction to the our queries…they were not properly diagnosis what are the faults??they were just say we are mediator..nothing else…. Very Very Very poor service Provider…we are a students of engg college(degree final year)…we suffer a lot from ur faulty version…not only students but also many ppl suffering about the same problem….also faculty members of college to…!!!!!!i am witness that there are many customer of urs we present ther when I ws @yr service station….facing same problem….

    Your laptop has two DIMM slots. The maximum amount of memory others have upgraded  to is 4GB. The maximum recommended by HP is 2 GB. The replacement memory will need to be PC2-5300, 667Mhz ,1.8v
    Here is a link to memory at  Crucial.com.  Only use replacement modules from major memory makers who produce guaranteed compatible memory modules to avoid the risk of buying incompatible modules.

  • Do I need to replace video graphic card or power supply unit on hp compaq presario sr2180nx

    hello all
    i saw a similar post over 4 years ago, however it doesn't address my issue.
    my pc started stalling when i attempt to turn it on.  It wouldn't come on. Then after several tries every now and then it would come on. I was told through searching that it could be the video graphic card or the power supply. Therefore once i had the computer back on.  I never shut it off. However, i could reboot and it would come on.
    Now it won't come on again. So i don't know what to replace. The video graphic card or the power supply.  If it is the graphic card, do i replace the one previously installed or add a new one. And if adding a new one, what is recommended to be compatible with my 300 watt supply unit? I'm lost as what route to take and how.Below are the details of my unit.
    HP/Compaq Presario SR2180NX desktop PC with a P5LP-LE motherboard with an Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 950.
    *Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.
    Also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards
    300 watt supply.

    Is there an add-in video card in the slot? If so, remove it and try to turn on. If the problem is the video card it will turn on. If not it is the power supply.

  • Compaq Presario v6346ea: Which type of SATA controller?

    I've recently bought an Intel X25-M/G2 Solid State Drive and was expecting read speeds of 200 MB/s on my Compaq Presario v6346ea notebook. Instead of that the maximum speed I get from CrystalDiskMark is 135 MB/s.
    Now I'm suspecting the SATA controller of my notebook to not being able to handle the speeds of this Solid State Drive.
    I've looked on HP's website to find out which type of SATA controller is used in my Compaq Presario v6346ea but can't find find any clear info on that subject.
    From what I read at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA there are 3 types:
    SATA Revision 1.0 (SATA 1.5Gb/s, max 150 MB/s throughput minus overhead.)
    SATA Revision 2.0 (SATA 3Gb/s, max 300 MB/s minus overhead.)
    SATA Revision 3.0 (SATA 6Gb/s, max 600 MB/s and up minus overhead)
    Does anybody know which type of SATA controller is used in this Compaq Presario v6346ea notebook?

    Thank you for the additional info. I ran SISoft Snadra and found some interesting stuff. For instance, it IDed the chipset as a mcp78s not a mcp77. It also indicates that it can use DDR3 memory. I'm not sure if that's accurate, as it conflicts with specs I've read elsewhere. If true, I wish I'd known that when I upgraded my RAM to 8GB. :-p Anyway, I've tried to determine the SATA revision, but I'm not sure if I'm going about it the right way. I went to "Storage Devices" and clicked the only available button: "Physical Disks , Storage adapters and devices". From there I can choose my internal hard drive from a menu, and it shows the maximum SATA mode as G2 / SATA300. But I'm not sure if this is in reference to the controller or the drive. I know that the drive is a SATA-II, so it would show that if it's displaying the drive's capabilities. It certainly tells me everything else I'd ever want to know about the drive. When I switch to my external USB HDD, it shows the maximum SATA as G3 / SATA600. For the DVD drive it shows G1 / SATA150. So I kind of think it's showing me the maximum capabilities of the drives, not the controllers.  Is there some other way to check the maximum SATA capabilities of the hard drive controller? Sorry. I'm not too familiar with SISoft Sandra, and it's not really obvious to me. And given what it's turned up about the chipset and the memory support, I want to be sure here. Thanks.

  • Ethernet Controller - Driver not installed - Compaq Presario

    Hello, I am new here so be gentle
    I have just bought second hand a Compaq Presario 6240EA, motherboard is a Compaq 07D0h.
    In the hardware - device manager, it shows 'Other devices' - Ethernet Controller, with a large yellow question mark and exclamation mark.
    Details in properties show the following: drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01C3&SUBSYS_00A80E11&REV_C2\3&13C0B0C5&0&20
    I have search the HP and Compaq websites for driver downloads and have downloaded all the nVidia drivers available on the Compaq site, none of which improve the situation.
    Would there be somewhere else to look, I am at my wits end with this, any help would be much appreciated.

    Please start your own thread rather than opening old ones back up. Also provide your full model number particularly when asking about hardware function which may involve drivers. We have to know precisely what hardware we are dealing with. Like the posts above, you may want to include the hardware id of the affected device.

  • No audio in Windows Vista Home Basic - Compaq Presario c765TU

    Hi all,
    A couple of days ago, my Compaq Presario c765TU lost audio while fastforwarding through a movie I was playing on VLC. The video was stored on an external hard drive. Tried playing music and video files stored on the laptop's local drive, still no sound.
    Audio drivers and BIOS have been updated. Audio devices are listed as installed and working properly in the Device Manager.
    Contemplating on doing a clean re-install of Windows Vista to see if that will work. 
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It's hard to know exactly which it is at this point.  It could be one of two things.  The speakers have failed or the jack detect pin located inside the headphone jack has failed.  A non-functional jack detection pin would cause the system to route audio to the headphone jack constantly instead of the internal speakers.  
    If you want to be absolutely certain it is not a software issue (corrupted registry possibly), you can try the system recovery making sure to backup your files.  I suspect this is a hardware issue, but it could very well be a corrupted registry causing the jack detection pin not to be read properly.

  • Compaq Presario R3000 how to get the sound to work with Windows 7 RC

    1) Download     SP29586.exe: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp29501-30000/sp29586.exe
    2) Run it, Create a directory  c:\ swsetup 
    3) Once all the Files are extracted DO NOT INSTALL
    4) Now Goto the Start Menu  Click on Devices and Printers, the Click on the Name you have called your  machine this will be marked will a yellow triangle as the sound driver windows 7 has install already is a realtek ac 97 which is not working, 
    5) Once your Machinename  you will see a general tab and and hardware tab select the hardware tab.
    6) Look for the Realtek ac 97  under the Device functions, select that and click properties,
    7) Now tab to the Driver, now click update driver,
    8) Select the option let me pick from a list of devices drivers, now click have disk
    9) Click on Browse  select the following location Swsetup\SP29586\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP and click on  smwdmCH6.inf 
    10)Now the Soundmax Driver should come up select ok and  next. Now your Sound will work

    I am basicaly having the same problem with my labtop. I tried the following above and yet I still have not been able to get my sound to work. I have had some problems with my power and sound cards before but after I reinstalled windows my graphics card and sound card have not been working to their full potential. I thaught that it was a 64 bit graphics card, but now I am not so sure. I had to jostle the power cord in the back till I mannaged to find a perfect spot to keep the computer running. Before the reinstallation I had to put pressure on the left side of the computer to get the sound to work.. but even then it still came in and out.. "The sound that is." I can see the same driver in the codex menue and it is yellow but, what you stated above did not work.
    It says (Cannot continue the hardware update) The wizard cannot find a better match for your hardware than the software that you curently have installed. and then tells me to keep the current software. My sound Icon does not show up when I go to the settings.... I can't play diablo 2 on this no idea why... But my screen is choppy when I scroll through internet sites and it did not do that before. I have a 400mbs connection .... here is my computer information. :Compaq Presario R3000 Intel pent4  2.80ghz    2.80ghz       1.12GB ram and im running on windows xp2 professional.

    I got HP Compaq Presario CQ60-320sa and the window vista product key is fade. I can read first, second and last.
    Now my earlier hard disk got crashed because of bad sector and I have to installed new one which I did now I want window vista product key for activation and the sticker back of my laptop cover is fade can't read all product key. If I download HP- USB RECOVERY FLASH DISK UTILITY does this software let me reset my laptop to factory version and won't ask me for product key. Thank you for your time.

    I understand you need a product key.
    An HP recovery should have Vista already activated with the product key for the system.  Do you have access to recovery media for this system (disks or a USB recovery drive)?  If you can perform an official HP recovery, there shouldn't be a need to get the product key off the bottom of the notebook.  The utility you mentioned only creates the media from the recovery partition on supported systems. Since the HDD was replaced due to a failure, I am afraid that the flash disk utility will not be of use as the recovery partition is not present on replacement HDDs.
    Some users have had success with contacting Microsoft regarding the unreadable product key.  They might be worth a try.
    According to this page, the HP part number for the recovery kit for this system is 515724-031.  You might be able to find the appropriate recovery disk set from a third party ensuring the part number matches.  You might want to verify with HP that the recovery disks are not available from HP before using a third party source.

    i have a compaq presario f750us runnin windows 7 ultimate 32-bit  when i first turn on the machine the sound and dvd drive work correctly but after about a hour of it being on both devices stop working an they dont appear in device manager.

  • Can I put a SATA 3 Solid State Drive in my Compaq Presario CQ57-447SI?

    I would like to upgrade my Compaq Presario CQ57-447SI and replace the hard drive with a solid state drive.  I'm considering the OCZ-Vertex-4 2.5 inch SATA 3 Solid State Drive (128GB) but I'm not sure if this will be compatible with my notebook?

    If a SATA II drive is a lot less, then probably yes.
    Notebook specs are very sketchy. 
    The chipset may be capable of SATA III transfer speeds, but HP may not have SATA III controllers on the motherboard.

    As you can see from the specs at the link above, the chipset has 2 SATA III ports and 6 SATA II ports.
    You would think that HP would hook up the primary SATA AHCI controller to one of the 2 SATA III ports, but that may not be the case.
    That is the best I can do for you since I don't have your notebook and cannot confirm the speed the drive runs at.
    So, if there is not much of a difference in price, I would take a gamble on the SATA III SSD.

    Here are the specs for your Compaq Presario CQ5300F Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model supports one VGA output via nVidia GeForce 6150SE onboard integrated graphics. This model also has a PCIe x16 graphics card expansion slot which will accept a PCIe x16 graphics card. According to the specs, installing a discrete graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot will disable the onboard integrated graphics.
    The graphics card you purchase must support both monitors you wish to use with your computer. Additionally, most retail graphics cards require a 300 watt or greater system power supply. Currently , your computer has a 250 watt power supply and it will need to be replaced. Please consider the Corsair CX430, CX500, or CX600 series of power supplies to meet the new graphics card power requirements.

  • Installation problems in Compaq Presario V2617LA Laptop

    Hello,
    I am new in all of this Unix-Linux world and I need some help, here's my problem:
    I have already partitioned and prepared my HDD to install Solaris, Windows and maybe Fedora (if someone recommends a better Linux it'll be appreciated), all of those three partitions perfectly identified and ready for the OS (it happens that I learn quickly, but I'm still new on this). I perfectly pass all Solaris 10 11/06 installation windows and requirements and Solaris begins installation, BUT when it all looks great, the installation (progress bar) just stops moving having 209.29 MBytes remaining and installing the 'Solstice Enterprise Agents 1.0.3 files for root file system', the wierdest thing is that the little slash-dash at the end is still turning around, the working processor light is on and nothing freezes (except when I navigate through the menu options), I have waited for a whole day and the installation does not finish and even re-downloaded Solaris and burn the image again two times and nothing.
    Could it be a hardware compatibility problem? What do you think?

    I `m sure that i completely uninstall it from the 1st laptop..
    I don`t want to sight out from my desktop,the 1st laptop is in an...other country. [of course a friend of mine have it]
    I mail to him to try to uninstall any files or something from there..
    if i solve the problem i install to 2nd laptop
