Compaq Presario C700 series notebook - C757EA Issues

Hi, I'm currently having a problem with my laptop, it's a compaq presario c757ea (it says c700 on the laptop itself) it will not receive any power or charge the battery. I don't want to get a new laptop because it will be too much money.
I had problems with it previously involving the hard drive failing 3 times and when i had got it back when the hard drive was replaced the third time it worked and charge but an hour after that it stopped charging and only would run off the battery.
I phoned up HP in the past and they've just told me to take it to PC world, but PC world are garbage because they say you might as well get a new laptop, they will not listen to me, all i want is a courier out to come and collect the laptop.
I've tried entering my Serial and product number on the HP website but it gives me this:
"We were unable to find any results that match the information you entered. You can either try a new search, or get further assistance from an HP Support agent. For a new search, please click the “Check again” button below, and then make sure to enter the correct product and serial number. Please see the “How Do I Find My Product Number and Serial Number?” information on the right side of the Warranty Status Check page, if necessary"
I've entered them correctly and i still get the same message.
Is there any other way in which i can get a courier sent out to collect my laptop? i would really appreciate it.
If it helps i had the charging problem since around August 2009.

Is there anyone out there at HP in which is able to give me information in getting a courier out to come and collect my laptop?

Compaq Presario F500 Series Notebook Warranty Service Enhancement Experience :-(

A while back the Persario F500 notebook I had stopped working. There was no video on the computer LCD panel or external monitor. The notebook turned on, the power LEDs lit up, but nothing was seen on the display. It was out of the one year warranty and I thought it was pretty much dead. Another person opened it up to see if they could do something with it but they could not. At the beginning of last month I discovered just by chance that HP had extended the warranty on these notebooks and that my symptoms matched what is presented at the following link.

I never heard of this before so I called HP support and the tech told me the machine was still under warranty and the symptoms seemed to match the program. A FedEx box was sent to me for it for a warranty repair. An email was sent and a tracking number was given for the box. It arrived in two days. I packed up the notebook and sent it in to HP. A tracking number was given to me for this leg of the journey too. It arrived at HP in two days. The support link that was given was updated to show the notebook had arrived and was being looked at by a tech. So far I was quite pleased with how things were going.
After about two days the link was updeated and asked me to contact HP and a charge of $429 was issued. I called and customer service told me the service techs found that the notebook had ben opened up and some internal damage had occurred due to this. Before the warranty work could be done the other problems needed to be fixed. I declined the repair and told them to ship it back. On hind sight I should have started my argument with HP at that point.
The reason the notebook was opened up in the first place was due to the fact that there was a problem and as far as I knew it was out of warranty. If I knew of the warranty enhancement program before none of the damage would have occurred because the notebook would never had been opened up.
The shipment back to me was a bit mysterious. No email or tracking number was ever given to me for the return trip. I called customer service three times and got three different stories on this.
The first time I called customer service told me the notebook was on its way back to me and they gace me two tracking numbers to go by. After I tried these numbers it turns out that one was for the box that was originally sent to me and the other was the number that was used to ship the notebook from me to HP.
I called again yesterday. This time customer service could not find any current record of the notebook. The rep thought that the notebook was probably still at HP where the warranty work was being done without fixing that damage that was done when it was opened up. He told me to call back Tuesday for an update.
At this point I was suspicious. I decided to call again today. This time the rep told me the warranty work was done and it was going to be shipped back to me. They told me an email would be sent to me with a tracking number for the return trip.
Later on today the notebook was actually dropped of at my home by Fedex. No warranty work was done.
At this point I am confused and very disappointed. It seems none of the customer reps I spoke to really knew what was going on with my notebook 100%. The fact it was sent back to me without an email or a tracking number is very disturbing.
The more I think about this the more disappointed I am with HP in handling this whole matter. HP knows this notebook has issues and yet would not repair mine since it was opened up and damaged during that process. The only reason it was opened up in the first place was because to the hardware issue it had and the fact that as far as I knew it was out of warranty.
I really hope that someone up the "food chain" at HP reads this and take the story to heart. Management at HP needs to do a better job in cases like this.

I do understand the situation where you knew that you were OOW (out of warrenty) so you decided to take the notebook apart. It is a valid argument. The warrenty was not extended just to clarify. It was a service enhancement. If your notebook displayed issues(no boot,video,no wireless in device manager) HP would fix the issues for free for the first 2 years of purchase. one year would be within your factory warrenty, the second year would be outside that warrenty. but only for the issues officially mentioned under the service enhancement note.
I do have a very important question. when you took the notebook apart did you make any major hardware changes? or did you just take it apart, then put if back together

My Compaq Presario C700 shuts down at randomly and there is no noise coming from the machine at all

My laptop will only turn on for about ten minutes before dying, it doesn't even go through the usual shut down process, it just turns off. Also, there is no sound of a fan or any humming coming from the computer. Before this problem of the random shutting down started, there was always a humming sound coming out. This happened to the computer about a year ago, and I gave it into PC World (Ireland) and they wiped the system and it worked again. So, the minute I saw the same thing happening I backed everything up and wiped it myself, I set up my user in vista again, but the computer was the same and was turning off randomly.
Does anyone know how this can be fixed?? Thanks for your help.

There may be a real hardware issue (like spanning above mentioned.) When I lose sound on my phone, here are the things I try, in no particular order:
If you use Apple TV, open a movie file (you tube, music video, anything you can play over Apple TV.) Switch to Apple TV playout and then switch back to your phone. If you left the phone going out to Apple TV, it may have kept the sound routing there -- switching back and forth again should reset it back to playing to your iPhone speakers.
If you use headphones, stick the headphones in and out again. Same kind of idea, the headphone detection may have been incorrect, and the toggle in & out will help it reset back to your speakers.
If you play games, go into a game with sound and adjust the volume there. There are actually three different volume settings (as far as I have experimented with) ringer, "normal" volume, and game volume... it's a little buggy figuring out which one your phone should be using

Compaq Presario c700 laptop RAM.....Blue screen!!!!

Hello, I just recently removed vista and upgarded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with. However got a Blue screen Error. After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.
My quetsion is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work?

Please make sure MS-UAA has been installed properly
How?
Go to Device Manager under System Devices to see if MS UAA installed properly.
There should be a listing for Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio.
If not, you should have a PCI with yellow!
Right click it and Update Driver,
No to Connect, No to Search and last Install Automatically.
Use driver below and if it fail try to force install it
Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver (C700 series, Vx5xx and dvx5xx and ABOVE models)
Driver modded by silver here
Unzip to a folder..use Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver,
No to connect, Install from a list or specific location,

Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".

Does Compaq Presario R3000 (AMD) Notebook PC support WPA2-PSK?

Hello all,
I know this is an old laptop(Compaq Presario R3000 (AMD) Notebook PC).
Recently, I upgraded my network system and start to use WPA2-PSK.
I have installed the patch from MS http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1974
However, the droplist of my network wireless setting still doesn't show the option
for wpa2 but wpa.
Can someone tell me the reason? Is it beause that my network adapter doesn't support
the new standard wpa2?

Again, in addition to the above driver you also must be running XP SP3 in order to get WPA2 support if that microsoft SP2 WPA2 patch doesn't work.

Power Problem w/ Compaq Presario C700!!

The other night I was working on my friends compaq presario c700. I was using the battery power. I was running a pre-bios .iso file program, due to password complications. In the middle of running the program to reset the admin. password, it turned off. So I plugged in the A/C cable. After pressing the power button, the led that is represented by a little Lightning Bolt flashed 5 or 6 times and then stopped. The laptop did not turn on. Even when I have the A/C plugged in, I see no led light showing that it is charging. I don't think my software that I was running could of caused this, or could it of? What steps should I take in fixing this problem? Have these models been known to have issues like this? Any help would be appreciated.

Based on you saying the LED flashed 5 or 6 times, this generally means the battery is fully discharged. Do you have access to a volt meter or multimeter?

Compaq Presario C700 Question

I just recently bought a new charger for my Presario C700, due to the last one breaking. Now, I should note that I have not used my notebook in about 7 months or so because it was out of power and I had no means of charging. I bought the charger from atbatt.com (http://www.atbatt.com/product/23318.asp). This was my first time purchasing anything off their website. So, as soon as the charger arrived, which was March 9 (yesterday), I plugged it in, and the light on it indicates that it is receiving power, but the laptop is not charging. I need to know if I have purchased the wrong charger and should return it or whether or not there is something wrong with my notebook.

What country do you live in, Your Highness? That is going to make a difference in where I suggest you buy the battery.
This is an extremely old laptop, right?

It is not genuine HP but for the price it will be fine for an older laptop. If you must have genuine HP they cost at least $50 and have to be shipped from China.

HP would be happy to sell you a new laptop. But the C700 really has no trade-in value.

Compaq Presario CQ40-327TU Notebook PC Display problem

My product is Compaq Presario CQ40-327TU Notebook PC originally with Windows XP edition. Recently I installed Windows 7 in my laptop from USB pen drive. Installation went fine, but it does not ask for C drive format. I installed in the C drive where Windows XP installed previously . After installation of my laptop working fine. Some times the screen goes blank (black) and come back after few minutes and in notification area it shows "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7 (R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." like that I am getting a notification. In my system information, I checked it shows Windows 7 in OS. It happens only when I toggle to different windows or applications. I checked display adapters in device manager and it shows "Mobile Intel(R) 45 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)" . When I tried to update display adapter it showed already uptodate. Can I expect some solution for my problem here. Also after OS installed I found Windows.old folder in C drive. Can I removed that folder?
