Compaq presario sr1110 wont turn on

When I go to turn my Compaq Presario Sr1110NX the fans immediatly start running. However, the light on the power button wont turn on. When I connect the computer to a monitor it wont connect. Please help me figure out whats wrong

Because of the age of the computer, I suspect a failed power supply unit (PSU). Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot the problem:

If the PSU isn't the problem check the memory to assure that it is seated and working properly.

Compaq CQ62 a25SA - wont turn on

Hi,
i have a Compaq CQ62 a25SA that wont turn on. initially it would turn on but lost power despite being plugged into mains and switched off by itself and then would not turn back on.
I have tried removing the power lead and the battery and depressing the power button for 60 seconds. i then replaced the power lead and it switched on but this lasted for 2 minutes ( it began to boot up windows 7 ) before i had nothing again.
i repeated the procedure but now all i get on replacement of the power lead is the blue LED on the power button flashes. there is no other LED or signs of life from it.
Could you suggest what the fault could be and if this is repairable?

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario CQ62-a25SA Notebook and the screen not coming on with no lights on it.Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.
If this still does not help try doing it without the battery connect.
Here is a link to the computer will not start. It has links in there to let you know what is happening and how to fix it. The video gives some helpful information as well.
There could be a loose internal connection. Loose connections can occur when a hardware component, such as a memory module or bootable hard drive or disc, is installed improperly, is not compatible with the computer.

HP/Compaq Presario CQ61 wont start up or charge, only the side charging light is on.

I have a major problem with this Laptop Compaq presario cq61. I had to fix the cpu fan and after putting back the parts laptop i came to know it wasnt turning on.It is not even charging. only one charging light is lit, (the one on the right).when i press the power button the power light starts blinking and the light in the button too, and after that the charging light blinks three times and then stops. I opened the laptop again to check if i missed to put back a wire or something,but everything seemed fine. Compaq Presario CQ61 Wont Boot

So Like Most owners of the Presario, My Computer wont boot. Its a blank screen and the LED blinds towards BIOS Corruption but since I cant even get out the blank screen Any help would be very well indeed Helped. Below is Info and things I've Tried

Bought: 3 Years Ago
What Happened when this all started: I was drawing on photoshop, I closed it so it would go to sleep mode. I left the house for an hour to shop and come back to this blank screen and LED blinking Lights (Twice)
Last Six months had To System Restore Twice, An Update back in March made my computer not work so was forced to system restore.
Things I've Tried:
*Hard Reset More than 5 times, nothing worked
*Bought New Charger
*Bought New Battery
*Removed/Reseated my two 2gb Ram sticks. Switched them
*Removed HDD/Battery to see if it Was the HDD
*Took apart computer before I knew it was the BIos to see if it was the moniter or if the wires got exposed or snapped
Than I tried to get into the BIOS Recovery, tried the Win button +B button/Power, f2 and f10. Nothing gets my computer off the blank screen.
I Think Ive gotten everything Down. Should I send it in even though it would be smarter to just buy a new computer? Im at a lost of what can be done . Almost Every person with this problem got fixed by Hard Reset. I dont know how to deal with BIOS. So Please Help If You can.

Compaq Presario CQ56 not turning on

My Compaq Presario notebook isn't turning on properly. When I press the power button, the power light comes on and the wi-fi key light comes on red, but that's all. The screen doesn't come on. After killing the power once or twice, the computer starts up. I've done a complete system restore to factory condition, which I was going to do anyway. Does anyone know what it could be?

Thank you for your query.
I understand that on startup you get a blank or black display with no error messages, but the power button lights up and the WiFi light turns red. If you power it off and on a couple of times it starts.

My compaq presario cq57 wont download any new files.

hey guys I'm in need of some help. After doing a system recovery my computer will no longer download any new files from the internet. from browsers to games I've tried it all. and nothing will download. it keeps coming up with a message that says that it can not find the file that im trying to use. so i was wondering what might be causing this and ho wi would fix this, if its possible to fix.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario CQ57 Notebook and issues with installing drivers. First, try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started. Restart the computer after this step and try installing again. If this is not automatic and started that is why you can not install drivers.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase.

Compaq presario cq56 wont boot even to BIOS.

Compaq CQ56 laptop Recently after shutting it down normally I cant boot it up again. The battery and the power adapter are good. The CAPS lock light flashes every 2 seconds. The orange wireless light remains on. The screen is totally black.
What i have tried so far without success:
1. Removed the power cord and the battery and pressed the power button for almost one minute.
2. Tried to boot only with AC power without battery
3. Tried to boot without RAM modules (also changed RAM modules without success)
4. Removed the CMOS battery for five minutes and put it back again
Any help will be appreciated highly please!

I have read your post on how your notebook computer is not able to boot into the BIOS, that the CAPS lock is blinking, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To find out the meaning of the blinking light sequence, I recommend following this document on Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps. This should help determine the cause of the blank screen, as well as the interpretation for the blinking CAP locks light.
Please re-post with the specific blinking-light pattern with the CAP locks light, and I look forward to your reply!

Compaq Presario 6150b wont boot - no BIOS screen - powers on and off repeatedly

Hi, i bought a 6150b from a company auction. Everything worked perfect for the longest time. Then last week i went to go turn it on, and all it does is run the CPU fan for a couple seconds, flash the AC LED about 7 - 8 times, and while thats flashing the power and hard drive LED’s stay solidly lit. Then it completely turns off. This all lasts about 3 seconds at the most. That’s what happens when on battery power.
When on AC power, the same thing happens, except it continues doing the cycle over and over again until I unplug it.
I think it might have something to do with the LCD monitor, since it does not even show a slight flicker at all. No color change like it would from when turned off to a black back lit screen when turning on….simply nothing.
I opened her up (no warranty anyways) and checked all the connections for the keyboard, monitor, DVD drive etc....also reseated them as well, with no luck.
Pulled the both RAM modules and reseated them as well, nothing.
Pulled the battery as well, no change. Still cycles the same over and over again while on AC
There are no audible errors codes (real nice HP...), and im lost at this point.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I just wanted to say thank you form the depths of my heart to say thank you and god bless you carol I know there is prbably more than one carol working customer support but she was my escalation represintative.All my best wishes go out to her and the repair departent for all the help.I cannot say enough good things things about her.first i sent in my pc and it took days to get my box then another 3 before they got ,then they sent it right back without repair i thought it was hopeless.But I got in contact with Carol and now everything is fine my pc is being repaired and ill be getting it on the 23rd.Thank god for the nice people in this world without her help im sure i would be starring at a useless pc.So in the end they did right by me and will definaltely be buyingan hp the next time i buy a pc.Also I cant forget the the peopole who actually fixed it you have no idea how much this means to me this pc is my baby and because of this i will always buy hp products.But whatever you avoid emachines i had an older pc i was trying to get working and they wanted to charge me 59.99 for 30 mins of tech support 129.99 for 90 minutes.Thats just ridicoulus.Anyways i cannot thank Carol and the reapair staff enough for getting me my baby back in such a timely manner.if there is anywhere ican rate her help please moderator send me a survery r something so i can express my gratitude.HP ROCKS

I apologize but I am unsure if the power button is lit or not. I do understand that it shows charging and you are unable to power up.

My Compaq Presario won't turn on.

This seems to be a problem with this company's PC's. I've tried all the suggestions and nothing works. Rather than investing money into repairs, I'm going to junk it and buy a different brand

Compaq presario cq61 312sa wont perform a system recovery from hard drive

When i turn on my Compaq Presario CQ61 312SA it looks like it is going to start ok then flicks to a white page with page cannot be found???
i have tried and would like to completely restore to it's original settings but when i turn it on and repeatedly press F11 it just beeps constantly and has a blank screen for ages.
any clues or quick fixes?
from searching online i gather i can't get hold of any recovery discs?

If you can still read the windows 7 product key on the bottom of your notebook you can make your own W7 installation disk.
Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.

Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX will not turn on

I have a Compaq Presario CQ-56 115DX that is almost a year old. My system first had problems crashing whenever I would watch video content, I reinstalled both Java and Flash, but that did not resolve anything. After that my computer would keep checking my file system on C for consistency whenever I would turn it on, even after telling me that it found no problems. After that I received a message that my C file system was corrupted, I attempted to back up my files and do a system restore to the factory settings but it crashed during the process. Since then it will not turn on all the way though the battery will charge and the On button lights up, as do the WiFi key and the Caps Lock key. (The Caps lock key blinks once, which according to the HP errors signal website means that the CPU has problems.) I have tried holding down the button to reset it, I have also taken out the battery and plugged it in.
Is there anything I can do to repair this? Or is it a lost cause?

Compaq Presario mouse isnt working properly

Im having certain issues with my touchpad. i jsut brought this computer about a week ago and sometimes areas of the touchpad doesnt bothering working. At some points and times the whole pad works but after a few minutes of not touching it it just stop working and only part of teh touchpad works. its very weird. the only area i can move the mouse after it freezes up is under the touchpad light where u can turn it off. only that area under it. ive tried windows update for synaptics touchpad/mosue drivers; ive tried device manage and select update, and also tried from teh site witht he highest selectable firmware.usually if i restart ,close the lid, or reset device it works fully again, but i dont wanna waste my time with a touchpad that wont wrok properly. i have to say compaq presario is a very nice laptop and i wouldnt want to take it back which the store i got it from ran out of stock. I just want to find a solution first incase i have to return it back.
