Forgot my power up password n. Can't get past that screen on my presario v5000 compaq laptop. after 3 attempts screen freezes to 'system disabled 06004 .does anyone have a factory reset method that may help me?? This would be highly appreciated!

Compaq presario v5000 drivers xp

I recently purchased a Compaq Presario V5000 online. It came with a copy of Windows 7 that was not genuine. I then installed my own copy of XP. I can't seem to find any drivers for this laptop anywhere. Please help.

There are 22 models in the V5000 series. You should have a Service Tag attached to bottom with full model number.

Power on password reset

My laptop is asking for an administrator or power on password. I get the message Key:64439020 after 3 failed attempts. How can I reset/clear this password so I can turn on my laptop?

Compaq Presario cq50, power.

A while ago, I had a problem with my laptop, caused by several updates. Suddenly, it stopped working, (battery was ruined), and I thought the power cord was the problem. So I bought a new one (according to the specifications of the previous one). And effectively, it worked. Nevertheless, after a few minutes, it shut down, and the light located next to the power cord entrance was blinking. I tried to turn it on again, but it was no use. The next day, I turned it on again, worked, and after a while shut down.
I opened it, the fan was relatively clean, and everything looked normal.
What do I do?
I could work without the battery before, so I do not think that's the problem.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Compaq Presario 50 and issues with your AC adapter. What are the specs of the adapter you installed?
Yours is 65-W AC adapter and should not be a travel adapter.
Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement power button for my compaq presario sr5404f case? The original button is broken.

Power buttons rarely fail, but it can be replaced with a momentarily closed push button ( closed only when being pushed ). Other than a physical break, what makes you ask?

Compaq presario cq61 312sa wont perform a system recovery from hard drive

When i turn on my Compaq Presario CQ61 312SA it looks like it is going to start ok then flicks to a white page with page cannot be found???
i have tried and would like to completely restore to it's original settings but when i turn it on and repeatedly press F11 it just beeps constantly and has a blank screen for ages.
any clues or quick fixes?
from searching online i gather i can't get hold of any recovery discs?

If you can still read the windows 7 product key on the bottom of your notebook you can make your own W7 installation disk.
Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.

The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Server: Oracle 11.2 on Linux Redhat 64-bit. Installed 32-bit 11.2 Oracle full client on Windows 7 64-bit workstation. Setting up user to test expired password promp capability of SQLDeveloper 3.0.0.4. So far, failing every time. Password Reset on menu is disabled. Loging in or testing in properties (Connection) simply fails with ORA-28001: the password has expired. Not sure how to proceed or enable password reset. FYI, connections only work for connection type of Basic and TNS if I disable OCI/thick driver. When enabled, I get "<oracle_home>\bin\ocijdbc11.dll Can't find dependent libraries"
Not sure how to proceed. Need guidance and instruction or at least point me to documentation please. I'm not finding much on this issue.

Thanks -K- for the response. I'll try that but it shouldn't be the cause of my issue. You see, a few weeks ago, I had SQLDeveloper installed on all our team's 32-bit Windows XP SP3 workstations. The reported issue was occurring then as well. Since then, the 64-bit Windows 7 workstations arrived and the saga continues:-)
Any other thoughts on my issue is appreciated.

Compaq Presario V5000 sounds and video on line and at windows start up, also having issue with SM Bu

Sound skips ald there is a skip on video but not as prevalent I also have a yellow Question mark under my device manager for a SM Bus device that shows up every time I start the computer under found New Hardware then it goes to the install wizard that cannot locate the device.
