Compare PI 7.1 with IBM Message Broker (WBI)

Hi,
I need some help on understanding the advantages and disadvantages of using PI 7.1 over Message Broker. (MB)
I would like to a kind of comparative study for both the produts.
Could any one help me to understand the two system in terms of
a. Scalability
b. Performance
c. Relability
d. Mantanability
f.  System Management / Monitoring

  • Itegration with Websphere Message Broker and Customer Master IDOC

Hello All. I am new to this forum. I have a couple of questions.
What I am trying to do: I have to interface to SAP with Websphere Message Broker which has inbuilt nodes to interface with SAP using BAPI or ALE to send Customer Master Record (create/update/delete)
    The questions I have:
1/ Has anyone done this? What did you use BAPI or ALE?
2/ When a Customer Master IDOC is sent to SAP, if successful, a return code is sent back by SAP. This indicates that SAP has received the IDOC successfully. However, our requirement is that we have to know whether the IDOC was successfully posted within SAP. I am of the opinion that this is manual task within SAP and it should not be the function of the middleware layer as its responsibility is only to successfully deliver the IDOC's. I would welcome opinions on this issue. Please let me know If there is a way to determine if the IDOC has been successfully posted in SAP.
3/ Is there anywhere where I can get an XML representation of the Customer Master Record. I want to see the structure and the available fields. How can I get this info from SAP?
    Thank you

    Hello, RM,
I have not seen any Oracle-produced documentation along those lines. I don't think there are any Oracle teams that are investing in producing documentation for IBM WebSphere.
I would suggest contacting IBM to see whether they have produced any WebSphere-specific documentation.

  • Anyone used the IBM Message Broker PeopleSoft Adapter

Is anyone out there using the PeopleSoft Adapter for the IBM Message Broker
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/ieduasst/v1r1m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.iea.wmbadapters_v6/wmbadapters/6.1/PeopleSoftAdapter.html
I'm interested in sharing best practice in developing PeopleSoft CIs that connect to the IBM event adapter.
    Many thanks
    Graham

    John,
    Following could be the reasons:
    1. Make sure that the path in the jar file for the class files(PeopleSoft CI java api) exactly matches the following:
    \PeopleSoft\Generated\CompIntfc
Upper and lower case differences should be followed exactly.
    2. The Java API for the selected component interface is not found in the API JAR file. Please check the Java API for the class file for the CI. If not found, please add the class file for the CI.
    3. The component interface name is mentioned incorrectly in the request document.
    4. If you are using 10.1.3.x version of SOA Suite, then make sure that the component interface jar is included in the server.xml. Please see the details for this in the 10.1.3.x application adapter installation guide.
    5. Following could also be an issue:
    LOCATION Component Interface
    Explanation
When you attempt to access the LOCATION Component Interface using the Human Resources application, release 8.80.000, a failure occurs during runtime and the following message is displayed:
    Component Interface Not Found
This is due to a problem in the way the PeopleSoft application has been delivered and is not related to the PeopleTools release.
    Workaround
    Perform the following steps:
    1. Open the component interface in the PeopleTools Application Designer.
    2. Make a small change to the component interface.
    3. Undo the change.
    4. Save the component interface.
This procedure resets certain internal PeopleSoft data structures, which enables the Adapter for PeopleSoft to find the component interface. This has been observed in the LOCATION Component Interface running on the Human Resource applications release 8.8.000 on several different releases of PeopleTools, but it may
occur in other component interfaces as well.

Is there any difference between using OID and weblogic app server, other than from the configuration point.
is there is any comparsion between the different options available?

  • Error: The Message Broker is not initialized

In first step, I had created a domain with PointBase Pools. I have realized a small process with a Message Broker. Cool, it works.
Second, I had created a domain with Oracle Pool and like the first step, I had realized a small application.
With Oracle Pool, I have just the error message : "<The Message Broker is not initialized>"
Any ideas ? With the wizard, I have tested pools and created WLI tables.
I work with WLI SP4 and Oracle 9i.
    Thx for your help !!

    I resolved my problem.
In fact, When I have created a new domain with the wizard, I defined two server : one for console and wli and an other for ejb session witch is called by WLI EJB Control.
For a another test, I have created a new domain with a stand alone server.
After that, I add the server, pool and datasource with console admin and it works !! I have not the problem with message brocker.
I think my problem come from the wizard definition of a server who is not use by wli.

  • Cisco Phone Control and Presence 8.6.1.1185 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 (Integrated Sametime Client 8.0.2) - No presence status visible

    Hi community,
I am trying to integrate Cisco Unified Presence 8.6.1.10000-34 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with the integrated Sametime Client version 8.0.2 via the Cisco Plugins 8.6.1.1185.
Phone control is working fine, whereas the presence status is not shown (= no handset symbol next to the Sametime user). When I look in the preferences of the plugin, I can see that the plugin has connected successfully to the CUCM (8.6.2.20000-2),whereas the connection to the CUPS has not been established.
The user id as well as the password are all the same on all systems. Here is a description of what I have configured via the ciscocfg.exe tool:
    Feature Control:
    - Enable Phone Status -> checked
    - Enable Dial Using Cisco IP Communicator -> unchecked (not required)
    - Enable Control Desk Phone -> checked
    - Default Mode -> Control Desk Phone
    Control Desk Phone Settings:
    - Voicemail Pilot Number -> left blank (no voicemail)
    - Cisco Unified Communications Manager
         - Servers -> IP address of CUCM
         - Read Only -> unchecked
         - Use as Default CUCM -> checked
         - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
              - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
Use Secure Connection: -> not required
LDAP Phone Attributes: -> not required
    Phone Status Settings:
    - Cisco Unified Presence Servers -> IP address of CUPS
    - Read Only -> unchecked
    - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
         - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
    - Sametime User ID Mapping
         - Use Business Card Attribute -> MailAddress
         - Remove Domain -> checked
    - Display Off-Hook Status Only -> unchecked
At the moment I don't see an error in the configuration, but maybe I am wrong. Could anyone please tell me what the error could be?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

    Hi all,
here are some additions to my above post:
    Servers and clients used:
    1x CUCM 8.6.2.20000-2
    1x CUPS 8.6.1.10000-34
1x IBM Lotus Domino Messaging Express Server 8.5.2
1x Sametime Entry Server 8.5.2 (on top of the Domino server)
2x IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with integrated Sametime 8.0.2
2x Cisco Phone Control and Presence with Lotus Sametime (PCAP) 8.6.1.1185
2x Cisco Unified Personal Communicator 8.5.5.19839
    Setup:
    - CUCM, CUPS and CUPC are working fine, i.e. Desk Phone control via CUPC, as well as availability and presence status are working without issues
    - IBM Lotus Domino server is the LDAP Directory, the Sametime Entry Server is installed on top of the Domino server and uses the Domino Directory
    - User ID and password on CUCM/CUPS match the ShortName field and password in Domino
    - The PCAP plug-in has been manually deployed to both Notes clients with the following configuration:
         - Enable Phone Status -> active
         - Desk Phone Control -> active
         - no credential synchronization for CUCM and CUPS, i.e. every user must fill the user details himself
         - Sametime User ID Mapping is implemented via the LDAP Attribute uid (which is equal to the user id in CUCM)
         - LDAP configuration filled in with details of the Domino server
Phone Control is working fine, also the connection to the LDAP server (Domino) is fine. However, when I type in the credentials for the CUPS server login, I can see (in Troubleshooting pane) that the user (pparker) is connected to the CUPS server for a short period of time and then gets disconnected. After that no connection is possible to the CUPS server, i.e. status is always disconnected.
I have collected the Tomcat (EPASSoap00010.log and security00010.log) logs via RTMT and compared them to the logs from the PCAP plugin. The relevant time period is from 15:14 to 15:17. In the Tomcat logs I can see that the authentication is successful (see attached files), however in the log of PCAP plugin I can see the following messages:
    2012/02/03 15:14:35.281 WARNUNG Credential is rejected. Nothing to retry ::class.method=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup.CUPPresenceWatcher.answerChallenge() ::thread=CT_CALLBACK.1 ::loggername=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup

I don't understand why the connection is rejected although the Sametime Internal ID and CUPS User ID match. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
All posts are very much appreciated!
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,

  • Connecting to Websphere Message broker from SAP

    Hi
Iam working on Websphere Message Broker(WMB).
We have to integrate SAP system and WMB, to receive messages from SAP and forward them to other resource; taking the message from the resource and sending it back to SAP, along with the message status like success or failure.
We are using SAPAdapter which comes with WMB toolkit.
SAP will send messages in Batch.
I wanted to know the message format SAP send messages in batch mode. How to send message back to SAP from WMB? As far as i know if we use IDoc then only we can send message back to SAP, but if it is batch process, then how to do in this case?
People who worked on the integration between SAP and WMB, please throw some light on this issue.
I have gone thorugh many websites reading about ABAP, BAPI, ALE, RFC.....
It will be very helpful if someone can answer my questions.

    Hi Nina,
first of all I guess there is no standard answer, to what kind of format / structure SAP uses and sends to WMB. It really depends on the individual case. Also important to know, which version of WMB you are using, v6.1 has significant changes regarding SAP adapter.
You may want to read some general WMB SAP connectivity information provided here:

  • Variable initialized with wrong message type

    Hi,
I have a BPEL process variableA of Message type A as defined in the partnerlink WSDL file. This variable get initialized during operation A from the partnerlink. The WSDL has another message type B defined for another operation B.
During runtime when operation A is called variable A gets initialized with message type A, however when operation B is invoked with mesage type B variableA gets initialized again with the content of message type B even though it's defined to be of message type A. Looks like the destination which is used by your EG has default settings,
particulary the RedeliveryLimit param. If it is set to -1 (default setting)
WL will try to redeliver the message forever in case of any error. Just set
it to something else. You can also specify an ErrorDestination and hadle
    error messages specifically in it.

How do you run the program?
I need to copy the compiled BasicPlugin.api under Acrobat\plug_ins folder. I can create a subfolder of plug_ins and copy the .api file there. Just one level deep: if I create a subfolder under a subfolder of plug_ins, the .api file will not be found by Acrobat.
Then I need to restart Acrobat and I find the plugin running. In particular, BasicPlugin add a new Acrobat SDK menu and a menu item under it.
If I close Acrobat and go back to Visual Studio, I can push the Debug button which will open Acrobat for me and stop the program execution at any breakpoints I have set in the code.

  • Custom reports do not run with error message: Routine FDPREP cannot read ..

    Hi
Can anybody help me with this issue pls?
The dev system is cloned from production a few days ago. After running the post clone procedure, the dev is working fine except when we are trying to run custom reports, it errorred out with error message - Routine FDPREP cannot read the file /fmis/11.5.0/reports/US/POXPRPO1.rep. I have checked the env files, and they seem ok. $CUSTOM_TOP is set to the correct value. Other standard Oracle reports are running properly. The custom report file extension is in low case (.rdf). I've even tried to compile the report manually by using rwcon60.sh, the rep file was created under that folder but concurrent manager is still giving the same error message. So I am suspecting whther it is the path issue, as from the error message we can see up there, it is not showing the absolute path. Can anyone pls shed some lights on this for me?
    Thanks!
    Liang

    Hi hsawwan,
Echo $FMIS_TOP(Custom Top) returns /global/app/fdev/home/fdevapp/findevappl/fmis/11.5.0, which is the correct path.
Interesting thing is I checked the custom forms and they are working properly , our current configuration is form server and web server are sitting on one node, and CM, admin and database are sitting on the other node. So it seems it is the CM node settings caused the problem. However, I've just compared the APPSORA.env, customfindev_XXXXXX.env $FMIS_TOP (Custom Top) on the two nodes, and nothing seems out of ordinary.
    Thanks,
    Liang

  • Compare two complex variables with BPEL ?

    Hi,
I would like to compare 2 csv files with BPEL, with specific rules. For example, I would like to check that for each row : "Value of Field1 of File1" has less than a 10% difference with "Value of Field1 of File2"
I can successfully retrieve the content of the files, thanks to the following thread : Help! Three questions about FileAdapater. . Now the files are in 2 variables.
What is the right method to compare the variables, row by row with this kind of specific validation rules ? Should I handle it with a Java call ? Especially, where should be the loop on rows : in BPEL (if so : how ?) or Java ?
    Regards,
    Alexandre

I suggest having a look at the Array sample (orabpel\samples\tutorials\112.Arrays)
that shows how to loop through an array.
Whether to do this in BPEL of Java depends on a lot of circumstances, but I suggest giving this a try first.

  • How does application connect/commincate to Message Broker + JMS

    With reference to JMS,
I am wondering how does my application (consumer or producer) communicate to Message Broker(in my case it is ActiveMQ).
if the consumer is at HostA, producer is at HostB and ActiveMQ=message broker is at HostC
    ???

Each JMS queue/topic has a single persistent image. Any reference to that queue through the relevant connection factory returns the reference to the same instance.
There may be many different queues, but each is uniquely identified by its jndi name.
Name each of your JMS queues differently for each separate endpoint you wish to consume messages from.
You could use ant to initiate a process by invoking the web-service sending a soap message to the url for the processes web-service. I use soap-ui or the BPEL Console to manually do the initiation, and to determine what makes up the soap packet that is forwarded to the web service. I am not aware of any task that does this for you so you would have to construct a http type target yourself.
