Compare two devices to find difference with installed applications

Hi,
In our organization we have small group of users, who has rights to install any software on their PC's. Of course, they are getting these rights only form some reason e.g. special knowledge for install or configuration specific application. Unfortunately
our users use this right to install any applications. We would like to know what has been installed by them to stop them for installing e.g. computer games :-)
So... my question is: it is possible to compare standard, fresh installed PC with user device after few weeks of use that?

Question is... it is possible to automate this report with e.g. some script or another way? I need compare 500 PC's to one, source PC. Using this raport one-by-one for all 500 devices is a bit... "time consuming" :-)

I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

Everytime I open Safari on my MacBook Pro a pop-up window from my Finder menu, with the Applications highlighted on the left in the favorites column with the Resources folder highlighted comes up and locks my Safari page until I manually close the Resources window then I have to refresh the internet search address line at the top of Safari. Can someone tell me how to stop this. It started after a software upgrade. It didn’t do that before. Thank you.

A few thoughts for diagnosis/testing purposes:
Have you recently run the disk utility and repaired HD and permissions? If not do so.
Boot into the Safe mode - hold down shift key on boot - and see if the problems are still there. Some functions won't work but see if anything odd happens.
Check your startup items. Get rid of them temporarily.
Create a new user account and see if the problems occur with the new account.
Lastly, be sure your backup is up-to-date.

I have problems with installed applications, I used to work correctly, but yesterday it just stopped working all run which came by default. could tell me I have to do to eliminate this problem?

Try downloading another app - any free app is fine. See if that resets the other apps and allows them to work again.

Email settings problem - your device encountered a problem with this application's server

I'm getting the following message
"your device encountered a problem with this application's server" when I try to add an email in Email settings. This problem is occurring since 15-NOV-2010. I'm using O2 service provider. i've called them and reported this problem. O2 service provider did all possible troubleshooting and they adviced everything is ok on their side. They don't know why am I getting this message.
This is really frustrating and not able to add an email or edit my existing email settings. I did reboot my handheld more than 10 times but no luck. Please can anyone help me to sort this problem out. PLEASE HELP

I am having the same problem since last 2 days. I have a BB curve 8900 with O2. I called them up today morning. They said that the problem is at their end and some of the customers are getting affected. Luckly, I still can access the setup using webclient.
Hopefuly they will resolve this issue soon.

Hello, I have no idea if my question went out, so I'll post it again. I have two iPads (one 3rd gen and one 4th) that use the same iTunes/store account. I want the two devices to game with each other, but the apps recognize them as the same. I have created two different iCloud accounts in an attempt to differentiate between the two, but no luck. How can I continue to use the same iTunes/store account for music and movies, but also have the two devices recognize each other for games?

You can share your iTunes ID and still have separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs, they don't have to be the same. If you kids don't already have an iCloud account, have them set up separate accounts on their devices using separate IDs. If they are already sharing your account, migrate their devices to separate accounts. To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos they wish to keep to ther camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll. If they are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to them so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in their new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from thier device and won't effect your device), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7). Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create their new account and choose Merge to upload the data. Once everyone is on a separate account you can go to icloud.com from your computer, sign into each account separately and delete your data from their account.

Compressor is not a finder "open with" recommended application for qt's

On my macbookpro If I select a quicktime file in the finder and go to the file:open with:recommended applications, compressor is not a choice. I can easily choose it as a nonrecommended application, but it's a bit of a pain. The same is true for a quicktime export from fcp (the first quicktime export option, not quicktime conversion) which has a fcp icon not a qt icon. On my G5 tower, qt files do have compressor as an option for open with, but fcp exports, do not.
Obviously I could change the "open with" option in the file info for either an individual file or all files of this type, but I just want compressor available in the "open with" list for either file type.
This ain't a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance.

What version of FCS/FCP, Michael?
If you're using FCP 5.x, the issue with QuickTime Movie exports from FCP is because those movies do not have an .mov extension. You can't drag them to the Compressor icon on the dock and force Compressor to open, for instance, like you can for anything else that actually has a .mov extension.
As far as opening QT movies with Compressor, mind explaining why you're doing this? That is, you're opening them in Compressor for previewing purposes, correct?

Comparing two charts. Finding which elements changed position.

Hello, I've a two separate list with names, in each list there are the same names but in different position. I need to check which persons are in different positions.
Example:
The premier league list with the ranking of teams at the end of two different seasons, I need to see which team did better and which team did worse and if there are new teams that got in the list.
There is a way to do that? In my case I've have 200 elements is rather impossible to do it manually.
Any help?

Your translation to Italian is certainly wrong.
My guess is that your machine is using the decimal comma so, replacing English functions names by Italian ones is not sufficient, you must replace commas by semi-colons.
It's the B, A, BA of Italian Numbers as well as French one.

Should Device Test find problem with counter?

Hello!
I am have one problem with PCI 6251 board. It seems to me that something happening with counter 0. Several days ago everything was ok, but now any counter output does't appears on its terminal (on BNC 2120 block). When I see at the signal from it on the oscilloscope, I can see right shape of the pulses, but about 10 mV amplitude. Everyting is perfect with counter 1 output.
OK, I run the self-test and it is passed. I have tried to reset the devce and try again - the same result. Self-test is passed, but counter 0 seems to be not functioning.
Is it another possibility to check the device?

Hi Baturin,
It is quite possible that your BNC connector has problems. If you were able to route the output of Counter 0 to a PFI line, and able to see a good signal, then your terminal block is at fault. The first things you should look for are the pins. Sometimes, the pins on the connectors are bent, and thus do not provide a reliable contact. Second thing you should look for is any external damage. Finally, use the test panel in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), in the counter tab to test the card (which is probably what you are already doing).
If all of the above still seem to confirm your initial diagnostic of a bad BNC connector and a good M series card, then please call us. We would then do a final troubleshooting before sending your BNC connector back to be repaired.

Problems with installing applications 11i on redhat 8.0

Has anyone installed apps 11i on a redhat 8.0 box. With a lot of finagling I have managed to get the Rapid Install Wizard screen to appear but then ... nothing. It hangs with no indications of what is wrong. I do have DISPLAY set correctly. I have installed openmotif-2.1.30, but everything still hangs. There is no word on this site, technet, or metalink as to if this is even possible or if so how it can be done. Does anyone have any ideas?

Dsc 8.2.1 cannot find files with built application

I am building an application using the DSC 8.2.1 with LV 8.2.1. I am running into the problem where I go to start the .exe and I get asked for varxnode.xnode and a ton of other files. It feels like I have to copy almost all of my labview development folder over to get all the vis required, which is VERY tedious and will make for a huge .exe. I am sure I am doing something wrong.
My program is using Fieldpoint 5.0.1, DSC 8.2.1, and LabVIEW 8.2.1. In the .exe I have debugging enabled (I get an error that the vi became broken when I try to disable debugging.), Enhanced DSC support (I read that I need this enabled to use the netowrk published shared variables).

In order to eliminate the problem, you will probably want to disable enhanced DSC support. Here is a description of what the Enhanced DSC Run-Time support actually does:
Enable Enhanced DSC Run-Time support (LabVIEW DSC Module) - Enable this feature if your application uses VI server refnum (green) methods and/or properties to programmatically modify a library file. If your application uses the VI server refnum methods and/or properties to programmatically modify a library file and you do not enable this option, then those methods and properties will return errors when run from the built executable. You do not need to enable this option if your application uses the online (purple) variable refnum properties to manage processes and shared variables. You do not need to enable this option to programmatically deploy or undeploy a library file. Enabling this option will increase the size of the built executable and reduce start-up performance of the built-executable and should be enabled only for applications that use the VI-server refum methods and properties for modifying library files.
If your program is not programmatically modifying libraries using the VI-server refnum methods, you will probably not need that support. However, if you are, you will need to install the DSC Run Time System onto the machine. There is a KB on this topic here:

How do I match CS media serial number with installed application?

We have 4 sets of CS3 media. At one point two copies were upgraded to CS5. I want to upgrade the two non-updated copies of CS3 to CC. I am having trouble determining which copies of CS3 I can update to CC. It is there a way to tell which serial number was installed on a particular workstation. Unfortunately there were no records kept of this.

You can enter the serial number you wish to, it will take you to next page if the serial number is accepted or else it will pop up an error message.

Find folder with incompatible applications created during system upgrade

When I upgraded to Lion the sustem placed all incompatible software into a hidden folder. Kaspersky antivirus was places there. I purchased eset antivirus. When I asked it to update it asks me to uninstall kaspersky. Even when I ask finder to show hidden files I cannot find kaspersky. Does anyone know what my solution is?

Best solution is to uninstall with either the uninstaller that came with it or one from the product's support site.
Once uninstalled keep it uninstalled. There are no known viruses that attack OS X and it will cause many more problems than it solves, like none.
Also, forget the other AV. These will only cause problems for you.
Try your Go menu > Computer > Macintosh HD

Bum into this part where it mention:
Oracle cannot say to what DST version you need to use, this simply depends on if you are using DST information or not in SQL
Please advice what are the ways to find out if application(s) connected to my database is using named timezones.

Did you already look in your log of the apex installation. Are you sure everything ran ok and you didn't have any errors?
As far as I know it's or the owa package which is not correct or an incomplete install of APEX.
Did you try to recompile the invalid objects already? @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql
If all of that doesn't work I would try to reinstall APEX.
